doG only knows which of you will be sober enough to read this.  It’s Labor Day weekend so I assume most of you are staying drunk until sometime on Monday.  I’m keeping it light on the exercise stuff so no one feels guilty for getting their drunk on.

We are experiencing Phoenix like temperatures this weekend.  Forecast highs are around 115.  It “cools off” during the week to just below 100.  At least nighttime lows get back into the 60s.

This was a decent week for my workouts.  I jumped rope on my conditioning days instead of running.  Partly because of last week’s article and partly because I want to make sure my back and ankle are up to it before I resume.  I jumped for 15 minutes each time.  I tried the boxer jump from last week’s video.  It’s a small modification to what I had been doing.  Even so, my calves and muscles in my left foot felt it.  Feeling it in my foot muscles was just weird.   I can’t think of any exercise that ever made that happen.

Pullups are still coming along.  I hit a personal best this week: 8-7-5-4-3-3.  I’ve got some nice callouses on my hands so it’s nice to have something matching my heart.

I weighed in at 172 this week.  I was 194 at my peak and 182 when the shutdown started.  I’ll let you decide if this is slow but steady progress or stress induced weight loss.

I’m including this video because it’s vaguely workout related and appeals to some of your fetishes.  You know who you are.

I have never believed Trump is a conservative or a secret libertarian.  What he did this week using the CDC to impose an eviction moratorium  has confirmed he is simply an unprincipled populist. But I repeat myself.

From the article:

Taylor Denchfield, a landlord in Maryland who owns about a half dozen very small apartment properties, said the expiration of the various federal and state eviction moratoria over the past month has actually helped landlords and tenants to work together. This new order puts an end to that.

“A tenant who is behind on rent today would have a lot easier time making a payment arrangement with their landlord now, rather than not paying rent for four more months knowing that they cannot be evicted and facing an even larger balance come Jan. 1,” said Denchfield. “I am afraid that in the long term, this will result in even more evictions due to the snowball effect of renters’ debt surpassing what may — as of right now — be a more manageable number. Generally speaking, it is a lot easier to work with a tenant now who may only be two to three months behind on rent than it will be at the end of the year when they would be an additional four months behind if no payments are made.”

I have no faith any of this will lapse on January 1st thereby exacerbating an already untenable situation.  But let’s pretend it does, it isn’t the governors who are going to take a political hit for unnecessarily shutting down their economies and/or unduly prolonging those shutdowns. I’m looking at you Newsom.  It’s Donny Two Scoops who will be blamed for all the evictions and foreclosures. Four-dimensional chess my ass.

This week’s music choice  is for Mojeaux because she is the only one I’m certain will be sober enough to click the link. Oh what the hell, here’s one more.
