Continuing with my theme of “no theme,” there will be no theme to these Links, just some birthdays, some music, and Links. And here’s a bonus link best seen on a decent size screen.

Sometimes it’s a struggle to get a decent list of notable birthdays. Today is the opposite, with a Cosellian veritable plethora of naissance, including a real personality; a guy who was continually the target of his father’s cutting insults; a rather stupid and incompetent Canadian who managed to be exceeded in these categories by his son; an icon of the authoritarian and mendacious Right whom I hope is in an even hotter place than here; a guy whose acting was just turgid, son; what happens when you let a Jew play baseball; an actor who delivered the absolute funniest line in all cinematic history; an icon and a punch line; an ex-marine who tried to do us a favor and brought us a disaster; the grandmother of female emo; someone who would be about number 296 on the men’s rankings; and a guy whose self-importance always seemed to dominate his talent.

Fuck the past, let’s move on to the news.

“Now you will never be Department Head.”

Take a boring sport played by second rate talent, politicize it, then wonder where the dollars are.

This is what happens when you try to outdo McAfee.

This seems like quite the event. I like the idea of some goy telling Jews how to run their finances.

San Francisco, the city of love and tolerance.

I like that this ended when someone returned fire.

And Old Guy Music is a remembrance of Pete Townshend’s manic energy, the brilliance of Keith Moon and John Entwistle, and the confidence that Daltry had in his mike cables. I saw them in ’69 or so and my ears are still ringing. When I’m dictator, this will be the only song allowed to be played in an election year.
