Everyone complains about these but sometimes it can be fun.

This is my review of Tombstone Brewing Buck Nutty Nut Brown Ale:

Last Sunday the Tennessee Titans had a flyover from the 101st Airborne that ruffled a few feathers.

But now NewsChannel 5 Investigates has discovered one recent flyover by the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell may have crossed the line — from dramatic to dangerous.

“General reaction, yeah, it was unsafe,” said Larry Williams, a retired aviation safety inspector with the Federal Aviation Administration. “It was very dangerous.”

So how low were they?

Relax. We’re professionals here…

The link above has a video of the flyover it in real time.  What I thought was fun was the Army’s response:

Lt. Col. Kari McEwen, 101st Airborne Division spokesperson, downplayed the concerns.

“The unit that conducted the flyover is in contact with the FAA Nashville,” McEwen said. “At this time, there is no scheduled review.”

“We reviewed ourselves and found we did nothing wrong.”  The costs to the taxpayer for these shows are at least are baked in to already existing training costs, at least in some cases.  So if we are stuck with slack jawed yokels flying in to the sounds of Rock you like a Hurricane, lets at least make them entertaining.  Buzz the stadium.  Pop some smoke.  Hit the afterburners.

Its not like these guys are doing anything productive anyways.

Normally I like this style but this one I found to be a bit off.  It is done well but this one wasn’t sweet so much as it was rich.  Not a lot of hops to balance out the nuttiness but that’s normal.  I think I might have been expecting a bit more bite with the relatively high abv (7.0%).  More alcohol means more sugar.  Still, if its on tap I can see myself picking it up again even if I wasn’t blown away.  As I said, I generally like the style.
