In the same place?
Morning, Banjos.
Poor crazy lady, life has always been especially hard for her.
It is sad how things have worked out for her.
Ritz-Carlton, Orlando! Not a bad place to check out, NPI.
Banjos had the taste not to put the Sinead link next to the potato link.
Q: How many potatoes does it take to kill an Irishman?
A: Zero
Boo…

“His ‘direct action’ checklist laid out what he intended to carry, including: flammable rags, a gas mask, pepper spray, a multitool pocketknife and more.”
Surely we need sensible limits on the number of tools a single knife can contain.
So he had S’mores to carry. Good thinking
*narrows gaze*
Taser! Taser! Taser!
Hey now, don’t put that idea out in the world.
He should have had inflammable rags instead.
Thanks for the music, Banjos, the headlines are rather depressing.
New York City’s worst fire disaster in more than 30 years was sparked by a faulty space heater, officials confirmed on Sunday night – killing nine children and ten adults, and leaving dozens more critically injured.
The five-alarm blaze erupted shortly before 11am on the second and third floor of a 19-story building at 333 East 181st Street in the Bronx.
FDNY commissioner Daniel Nigro said that ‘very heavy’ fire and smoke ‘extended the entire height of the building’ and confirmed that a space heater caused the blaze.
This would never happen if natural Gas were outlawed.
Nigro please……
^^Wins the internetz today^^
Manchin’s plan is basically the same as OG BBB, but doesn’t include expanded child tax credit. Is that the major difference?
I saw somewhere that he had thumb’s down on the whole plan as inflationary.
He dropped his compromise anyway which I find hilarious. He’s fed up with Democrats stabbing him in the back and lying about his willingness to compromise.
I can’t find Russets anywhere, and the red taters are very small,

I’ve always found them a bit rushed.
nope, and no bagged taters, only loose, never in life have I seen a lack of taters

hmmm,
I thought I saw Stetler on CNN the other night?
Humpty Dumpty is and egg, not a potato.
We have an abundance. What we don’t have again is garlic.
There were plenty of potatoes at the store when I went last Saturday. One thing I noticed: The soup section had a lot of bare shelves.
That Florida Man’s check list looks like it was written by a 12 year old. Seems about right.
He was trying to throw the feds off the track
He should have had his FBI handler write it for him.
“Among the contents of his backpack was a black helmet painted with red logos, similar to the headwear worn by protestors in Portland, police said…He lived with his parents and siblings, and previously spent a few months in Portland, police said.”
Might be antifa.
“What are rebelling against?”
“What do you got?”
Since the “red logos” weren’t described as “far-right symbols,” that’s a good bet.
More like written by a Fed. This guy actually wrote to himself as side notes “TIP: No logos and Keep gear concealed!”. Really? He needed to write that down? Did he build a flashing sign on the top of his building that says “No violent radical activists live here”. I don’t think my eyes could roll back in my head any farther.
Today, in baffling labor shortages
About 24% of US hospitals are reporting a “critical staffing shortage,” according to data from the US Department of Health and Human Services, as public health experts warn the Covid-19 surge fueled by the Omicron variant threatens the nation’s health care system.
“Given how much infection there is, our hospitals really are at the brink right now,” Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of Brown University’s School of Public Health, told CNN on Sunday.
——-
“The health care system is not just designed to take care of people with Covid … it’s designed to take care of kids with appendicitis and people who have heart attacks and get into car accidents,” he said.
“And all of that is going to be much, much more difficult because we have a large proportion of the population that is not vaccinated, plenty of high risk people who are not boosted,” he said. “That combination sets up a large pool of people who as they get infected will end up really straining the resources we have in the hospitals today.”
These staff shortages are growing as frontline health care workers are either infected or forced to quarantine due to exposure to Covid-19 just as the demand for treatment skyrockets: More than 138,000 Covid-19 patients were in US hospitals as of Saturday, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. That’s not far from the all-time peak (about 142,200 in mid-January 2021) and an increase from around 45,000 in early November.
Allow a healthy unvaccinated doctor or nurse to treat you? We’d rather see you dead.
No, give me the vaccinated sick nurse.
Meanwhile, actual hospital administrators are saying that many (most?) of their plague victims were admitted for other reasons.

GT was seeking the weather report from you.
Im on a compulsory vacation this week, so my sleep-wake schedule is already messed up.
I am back from burning 3 weeks of vacation time. I got one heck of a tan and feel I need to go back into the water since I spent so much of it under it looking at stuff. Hardest part was not being able to drink cause I did so many deep dives. I am gonna make up for that this week though.
I used to work with a guy that was fanatical about diving. He used to claim that a couple beers after a day spent under was money well-spent, since you’d get drunk faster.
That’s true… Especially if you do deep dives. Problem is I was doing 2 or 3 dives a day most of the time and only had a couple of days here & there without one allowing me to not drink more than a couple of times during a 3 week stretch.
Dude almost always had a tank of welder’s grade oxygen in his truck. I was told he was very aggressive with he decompression, and didn’t mind being a little bent. Then again, he was at CrossFit levels of diving fanaticism.
In my younger years I didn’t much give a shit about it either cause my body easily recovered. These days reality has forced me to admit if I do what I used to I am just looking for a stroke or hemorrhage incident and the consequences of that shit.

Substitute “government day care” for “school” and you’ll understand the real problem from the Democrat party’s point of view. Parents are having to quit work in order to babysit their children.

I survived a rear of boat trailer-side of car sandwich. I am fortunate the door panel gave. I don’t recommend the experience.
Ouch! Sounds like you got very lucky.
I was fortunate I was smaller and was standing in front of the car door. The impact of the trailer bumper was mid thigh and the door panel gave enough. Nasty bruises but no breaks. I was able to walk it off. My father waived the no-profanity rule.
I was in the passenger seat of a soft-top HMMWV when a hard shell HMMVW backed into my door. stopped about 6″ short of crushing me. Bruised and swollen elbow and a door with about a 45 degree bend in it were the extent of the damage.

I am confused why conservatives are running wild with this story. Unless Henig has started testosterone, Thomas should have won?
Guy at the American Thinker point out that if “he” even got his average time he would’ve won that meet. It was actually a strangely way off competition for the UPenn swimmer.
I hadn’t looked it up but I was wondering how Thomas’ times compared to past events. I guess having no boobs may have been advantageous to Henig over the other “natural” female competitors.
I was referring to the UPenn swimmer. Should’ve won and has better normal times.
It was a strange collapse.
Did Thomas still beat all the biological female competitors? Perhaps Thomas was sandbagging for some reason.
Yes, just not in every race.
I think they use silicon at this point, not sand.
– 1O₂
Maybe Lia was having cramps.
I’m guessing complacency and entitlement. At the earlier competition, lia bragged that “she” hadn’t even really trained hard or pushed herself(?) much and had still won.
Maybe F2M is the best female swimmer to have ever existed, given that M2F was creaming all the ladies, and/or hacking off the twins provides a significant advantage.
F2M has not taken hormones yet so some people are arguing this undermines the narrative.
Is there anyone whatsoever that disputes that biological males have a natural athletic advantage however? This seems to be an obvious truth that can’t be undermined.
Yes…major news agencies are stating there isn’t much science behind that.
Are you effing kidding me?
“,,,given that M2F was creaming all the ladies…”
You may owe me a new keyboard.
It’s best to not try making sense of the ravings of the mentally ill.

I’m still confused.
So are they.
Civil war is coming
The right has recognized that the system is in collapse, and it has a plan: violence and solidarity with treasonous far-right factions
——-
Two things are happening at the same time. Most of the American right have abandoned faith in government as such. Their politics is, increasingly, the politics of the gun. The American left is slower on the uptake, but they are starting to figure out that the system which they give the name of democracy is less deserving of the name every year.
An incipient illegitimacy crisis is under way, whoever is elected in 2022, or in 2024. According to a University of Virginia analysis of census projections, by 2040, 30% of the population will control 68% of the Senate. Eight states will contain half the population. The Senate malapportionment gives advantages overwhelmingly to white, non– college educated voters. In the near future, a Democratic candidate could win the popular vote by many millions of votes and still lose. Do the math: the federal system no longer represents the will of the American people.
The right is preparing for a breakdown of law and order, but they are also overtaking the forces of law and order. Hard right organization have now infiltrated so many police forces – the connections number in the hundreds – that they have become unreliable allies in the struggle against domestic terrorism.
Have I abandoned the government, or has the government abandoned me?
The Will of the People is a tissue thin facade. What we need to concern ourselves with now is The Will of the Government.
What sort of country allows people who are not assimilated into the hive mind to work for government and law enforcement agencies? That’s crazy.
How dare we allow any minority to have a say!
Senate malapportionment
Somebody doesn’t understand the American system of government.
That appears to be the norm.
The founding fathers were stupid to reject mob rule as the basis of their government. Now look we are.
I find it insane how so many people of the so called democratic world cannot see the issue with the vast power politickers have these days with literally zero accountability.

*crickets*
I have personal experience of this being the case.
Has long been my suspicion.
Personal experience: I am completely unvaccinated, my wife is vaxxed and boostered. Over Christmas we were exposed to Covid, a few days later we both got sick. I had a very mild cough and congestion for one day and then was fine. My wife has been quite ill (bad cough, headache, bad congestion, fever, chills, etc.) for at least 10 days, and since she tested positive at the hospital where she works she can’t return to work until the 14th.
We’re passing what is likely covid around the house now. For me it was essentially an annoying sinus infection with a lingering cough. For wife, it was chills and body aches. For the 1 year old, it’s a bad cold. For the 4 year old it’s just a bit of fatigue.
Granted, we have been sick on and off since November, so God only knows which symptoms are associated with which virus. Thanks to all the distancing and lockdowns, viruses are coming home from preschool, the gym, and wherever else one after the other in waves.
Oops, edited the text before submitting and forgot to add the punchline.
The whole point is that (assuming we’re passing covid around) were all unvaxxed and have different symptoms. it’s a weird virus, and it’s hard to tell why the symptoms are different person to person.
I don’t disagree, and of course anecdotes are not data, but it seems quite striking to me that my vaxxed/boosted wife (who is also 10 years younger than me) was hit so much harder than me by what is the same Covid virus, especially in light of reading things like the above Steve Kirsch article. Could just be coincidence/luck, but it is certainly something worth investigating.
Yup agreed. It has been mild-to-moderate for us. I’ve heard so many horror stories from vaxxed friends about being laid up for days, unable to function. The anecdotal correlation has caught my attention, too.
Trashy—Same thing happened with my family. 3 people had it as far as the at home tests told us, and all 3 had very different symptoms. Wife was just tired, daughter had sore throat and headache, I was just weak and feverish for 3 days. Weird stuff.
Ive told my experience here many times. But that pesky, engineered, Fauci gain-of-function funded, bug knocked my dick in the dirt for 2 weeks.
Even after my symptoms receded and I was more “normal”, I would still get out of breath just getting dressed.
Fuck that little garden gnome for what he did. Hanging is too good for him. Drawn & Quartered with some horses, however, has some appeal…

At this supreme moment of crisis, the left has divided into warring factions completely incapable of confronting the seriousness of the moment. There are liberals who retain an unjustifiable faith that their institutions can save them when it is utterly clear that they cannot. Then there are the woke, educational and political elites dedicated to a discourse of willed impotence. Any institution founded by the woke simply eats itself – see TimesUp, the Women’s March, etc – becoming irrelevant to any but a diminishing cadre of insiders who spend most of their time figuring out how to shred whoever’s left. They render themselves powerless faster than their enemies can.
What the American left needs now is allegiance, not allyship. It must abandon any imagined fantasies about the sanctity of governmental institutions that long ago gave up any claim to legitimacy. Stack the supreme court, end the filibuster, make Washington DC a state, and let the dogs howl, and now, before it is too late. The moment the right takes control of institutions, they will use them to overthrow democracy in its most basic forms; they are already rushing to dissolve whatever norms stand in the way of their full empowerment.
Wow. Who does this person talk to all day, other than the voices in his head?

My friend in dutchland wanted to go to Miami end of february but cannot as it is apparently a 250 day waiting list to get an appointment for a visa interview.
In Romania it is 60 days, it used to be less then 10 pre covid.
Fun Fact! He was going to Miami to see his godparents who live there (we have those things in Romania in the wedding ceremony). They used to be based in new york make a buch of $$$ and embraced the lefty politiks of the region. Now they work mostly remote and moved to Florida because well you see mumble mumble lower taxed mumble mumble less restrictions mumble mumble Florida republicans are awful
So, they are likely the kind of idiots who will vote for the same policies and politicians that made them flee New York.
I am not sure of their citizenship status in the US tbh… so not sure they vote 🙂
Well had they stayed in NY[C] that wouldn’t have mattered.

It would be entirely possible for the United States to implement a modern electoral system, to restore the legitimacy of the courts, to reform its police forces, to root out domestic terrorism, to alter its tax code to address inequality, to prepare its cities and its agriculture for the effects of climate change, to regulate and to control the mechanisms of violence. All of these futures are possible. There is one hope, however, that must be rejected outright: the hope that everything will work out by itself, that America will bumble along into better times. It won’t. Americans have believed their country is an exception, a necessary nation. If history has shown us anything it’s that the world doesn’t have any necessary nations.
The United States needs to recover its revolutionary spirit, and I don’t mean that as some kind of inspirational quote. I mean that, if it is to survive, the United States will have to recover its revolutionary spirit. The crises the United States now faces in its basic governmental functions are so profound that they require starting over. The founders understood that government is supposed to work for living people, rather than for a bunch of old ghosts. And now their ghostly constitution, worshipped like a religious document, is strangling the spirit that animated their enterprise, the idea that you mold politics to suit people, not the other way around.
If the Founders had believed the nation would thrive under totalitarian rule, they would have anointed
