Well.
Now you know why I’ve just ordered a new computer. My old one crapped out when writing this post the other day, but I thought it had saved.
Nope!
Anyway, here’s the gist.
We published Ozy’s series at the time we did so it could have a reliable schedule. We think it’s an important series. So, I’m creating a page that will serve as a table of contents so readers can find all the installments and easily read them in order.
I will update when it’s ready. Assuming my computer cooperates. 😉
?
Ah, now that we have content, yay! I was hoping it would be something like this.
That is, table of contents/links to each article, not computer death. IFLA really got it right with ‘assures death’ — my laptop died the real death this week, too. Replacement expected later today. Assuming it survives the trip.
sigh
*assured
Wow…..that was a twist I didn’t see coming!
I see the series left you speechless.
What more was there to be said?
It’s just a spore. It will develop into an article unless you were vaccinated.
Praise be to Grandfather Nurgle.
I’m gobsmacked.
SP asked to be left alone, now leave her alone, damn it !
But it’s afternoon…
Yes, leave her alone.
Open post anarchy?

I WANT THE BLINK TAG!
Frankly, I’d rather be exposed to nos. 5, 12, and 28 than anthrax.
No. 14’s leggings. What happened there?
I felt that.
Short and sweet.
I guess the vaccine works?
I’d say it didn’t work.
TL;DR
So you are not left out for not reading the above article, a summary:
Nice. That gave me a chuckle.
On Topic:
Mind. Blown.
At least there was no nutpunch in this one.
This must be one of those articles that ensure the site stays family friendly certified.
Evidently (((they))) got to SP, as well.
Do you have this posted somewhere not associated with this domain name? I have some friends I’d like to share it with some friends without associating it with a libertarian… uh.. whatever we are. Yes, i know that some simple web searching would connect the dots. Its not about secrecy, but about framing.
Leap – yes. My website is http://www.theabjectlesson.com – it is currently on Chapter 10 there and I post a new one each week. I am also in the process of self-publishing it as a complete tome (our own mythical Lib Woman Mojeaux has the Word doc in her email inbox about 15 minutes ago, no kidding). I may entitle it, “The Long Slow Giant Nutpunch” but it doesn’t really roll off of the tongue.
I think in SP’s case, the (((they))) is coming from inside the house.
Proof the founders are really working for the DOD to weaponize cynicism.
Is it too soon to go off-topic??
I think you’re able to go off topic on something based on your own writings without worrying about upsetting the writer…
Why are there no pictures?
Q will rescue us momentarily with some boobies, I’m certain.
Already linked above. But some of us actually work and cannot view them right now.
I’ll help you out – they’re all SFW and contain about 4 or 5 genuinely fit chicks – and a bunch of attractive, but fluffy and soft “fitness” models in posing in their sponsored workout gear. NTTTAWWT.
(But my personal photo collection from CF Games over the years is better).
Thank you to whoever it was what linked that video about the fake martial arts in the previous thread. It was quite interesting and took some turns I did not expect.
Talk about making an effective case for nihilism. And so succinct.
SP doesn’t mince words, that’s for sure.
OT: See the violence inherent in Leftism.

Man who threatened San Francisco GOP chairman identified as school social worker
This should be surprising but it isn’t. And I take it blue beards are to woke men as blue hair is to woke women.
So he identifies as a social worker, but is he actually a social worker?
Not exactly a social worker but has a SW degree and would be a SW as soon as he finds a job and quits his temp thing as a barista.
Sarc/
Yeah, those bums camped out in front of City Hall are more useful to you when they’re living in squalor.
Seems more like an antisocial worker.
Speaking of human-killing bacteria, I was doing some follow-on research on that article about Tencent posting some numbers that contradict the official narrative and I have to just add some fuel to the conspiracy fire by noting that it is widely understood by the people in China that any numbers the government reports are almost assuredly bullshit. Bad gets reported down and good gets exaggerated up. I can think of dozens of examples from motor vehicle deaths (grossly under-reported) to their economic numbers.
IOW, I am inclined to believe that this is much more serious than is being reported.
Also, I have been to WuHan and eaten at a noodle shop there: kind of an indoor/outdoor place. Great noodles (WuHan is famous for this) and thankfully, I am well past the incubation period.
The leaked numbers were two orders of magnitude higher in both infections and deaths. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to learn that the ChiComs were cooking the numbers that much.
Agree. And I will add more fuel by saying that I don’t believe that it was an accidental posting (or coding error). I think that’s someone at Tencent trying to tell the world what’s really happening.
No Chinese I know ever believe their government provided numbers. They work from the presumption that it is always a lie.
My experience was the same. There was an interesting example of it around car accidents when I was there.
The Chinese Govt admits to something just under 70K deaths from car accidents annually. The UN places it at 200,000. The Govt changed a bunch of the driving rules because a sizeable percentage of the motor vehicle deaths involved pedestrians, and a not insignificant portion of that were kids. And when 10 or 20,000 kids get killed, that starts to generate a lot of grieving and angry Chinese families that could snowball into something really bad.
I think people in the US don’t realize how tenuous the ChiCom grip really is: it is awfully difficult (and dangerous) to try to control 1.5 billion people, even when you’ve got the tanks.
They’ve always been one crisis away from collapse. Up to this point, the only thing the central government had going for it was the intense hatred most Chinese have for local and regional governments.
As the commies in Eastern Europe discovered, the problem with relying on having the tanks is the guys driving the tanks. When it all goes to hell, relying on random 19-year old working class conscripts to massacre civilians is not the safest possible bet.
I don’t think anyone in the world believes their shit at this point. Their ideological BFFs (Cuba, Venezuela, etc.) will support them but of course they don’t believe any of it either.
Well, Tom Friedman.
I don’t even believe U.S. numbers.
(WuHan is famous for this)
And this.
“So LACIST!! Why you post pic-chuh of Chinese hats!?!?”
Those are cymbals
“Symbol of you Lacism, Lao Wai!!!”
If it wasn’t for my inherent distrust of the ChiCom false narrative of their own sneaky competence I might buy the conspiracy this virus is an intentionally released weapon meant to reduce the population and address the results of the one child policy. They might have blundered into it, but I don’t think they are that competent. That ruthless, sure. But not that competent.
The sneaky competence thing comes from the Chinese habit of playing the long game, which developed over centuries of dynastic imperial rule. The modern ChiCom is really just the latest incarnation of the old imperial government. They make plans under the assumption that they’ll outlast their rivals and the regime will basically continue on, more or less unchanged, into the future. And since they have no real polity to answer to in any meaningful way, they can ignore what the Chinese public wants or thinks, more or less, which gives them a lot of latitude in planning. There’s also the Western myth of the mysterious Oriental that plays into it.
I linked this one earlier. A sarcastic look at the crazy fucking shit going on in China. Spraying the streets with.. who knows what, grabbing people off the streets, jamming them into vans and transporting them to “quarantine areas” (not hospitals.
During SARs, they were spraying entire subway stations with bleach every night.
Go long Clorox
Watching the second half of the video – no wonder infected Chinese are dying by the thousands. They are literally looked into rooms together without medical care or even toilets.
Feature, not bug.
How does your immune system cope when you’re constantly exposed to the virus?
Now there’s a good illustration of utilitarianism.
Those whose immune systems survive the experience will improve the gene-pool.
I’d ask the Asians to do the math for me, but they’re all dying now. And the Jews would overcharge me. So we are not gonna do the math right now.
…what they are spraying in the streets doesn’t do anything. It’s just an ancient Chinese secret to cover up your holocaust.
This guy…
The best view of the numbers, and that still should be taken with a rock of salt, is the delta for where the trends are going.
The numbers outside of China, which should be a little more accurate, seem to be not too bad so far but also seems like it could take off at any time. The cruise ship numbers are particularly concerning to me.
I am increasingly of the view that this is an escaped bio-weapon. The ChiCom reaction, from the struggle session with the doctor, the fake numbers, and their actions in quickly cutting off transportation to WuHan (along with a bunch of other things) all make me believe they know they’ve got a very serious problem. I don’t think it will be a pandemic, but I think that is mostly because of China’s relative isolation from the rest of the world and the nature of the virus itself. Wouldn’t surprise me if we eventually find out that this was a test trial gone wrong.
Speaking of SARS above…
https://www.wsj.com/articles/scientists-link-china-virus-to-intersection-of-humans-and-wildlife-11580997600
Which isn’t to say that it couldn’t be a bio weapon gone wrong, just originally using a virus from bats as a source material.
My wife said, “NO way!” until I showed her the paper from some microbiologists about the 4 receptor sites on the virus having “similar or identical” parts of HIV that the authors say is “unlikely to be fortuitous.”
That’s what got me thinking it might not be just a coincidence. My first thought was “That sounds like a good way to weaponize HIV” – mate it with what is essentially a common cold virus that is easily transmissable.
Also, they start building massive “treatment” facilities when the reported numbers are way too small to justify that.
I do see some of the usual ass-kissers going on about how China learned so much from SARS, and how they are just the bestest now at epidemiology and infection control.
Didn’t Korea treat a patient with an anti HIV cocktail?
I think that was Thailand that reported some success with HIV drugs.
Scientists tracking how the deadly new coronavirus leapt from animals to humans
Hmm. Seems awfully early to have concluded that’s how it originated. But the conclusion is assumed as if it has been proven.
Wait, are they thinking that instead of eating bats, the Chinese are … doing other acts?
You hold its wings!
I larfed
If proven to be true, the internal and geopolitical fallout are going to be massive. It could bring down the government.
Scruffy – Yes. It could. I will also tell you that in my opinion the ChiComs will collapse in our lifetime, regardless of this. But this would accelerate the process.
Really? Why? Do you think they’ll just sort of collapse into a standard dictatorship, or that there will be some sort of revolutionary change? Or do you think they’ll pull a USSR and kind of semi-peacefully transition into something else?
China’s economy is a house of cards; its demographics are a disaster; and its government is both extremely ruthless and aware of the consequences of failure. That is a very bad combination.
Collapse as in descend into total fucking chaos that will take a warlord or other strongman to pull back together if it ever happens. Peachy Rex has the basic reasons. The whole damn thing is shakey as hell. And the demographics, in particular the combo of a bunch being “old” heavy and the huge numbers of young men of military age who have no hope of ever finding a woman, having a family, and a normal life and KNOW is the big piece.
I know, I know, gender is a construct. But 40-50 million young men in that situation is incredibly dangerous, particularly in a culture where having a family is still important. that alone would be a ticking bomb.
Wait, wait. That can’t happen! How am I going to get my novel printed on the cheap?!
(If I ever do.)
(If I can stand to have a pallet of books in my basement.)
(Which I can’t.)
Perhaps Bern can tell the ChiComs to try REAL SOCIALISM for a change.
The “payload” seems odd for a bio-weapon.
However, the transmission mechanism of a corona virus is an interesting vector for a bio-weapon.
Other than that my level of expertise on this topic is similar to that of a Team Blue politician and understanding the law of supply and demand.
I talk out of my ass too.
It’s also hard to distinguish maliciousness from incompetence because the patterns largely overlap
1) Deny there’s a problem. If you claim there’s a problem, you’re the problem
2) overreact and throw massive resources against the problem, even if it’s counterproductive
3) blame underlings and scapegoats, without acknowledging any underlying causes
Yes, BUT…
if there are only a couple of hundred cases (when it first broke) you don’t shut down a city the size of WuHan, block transportation systems as important as the trains, etc.
Seems like a nice time to take a cruise in the South China Sea.
If you had been vaccinated, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting the disease.

So many people concerned with the “median” of political stances.
In other words, amoral dunces.
So the Dems were right-wing?
If I’m interpreting this correctly republicans have *always* been the most extreme party (as measured by distance from the median)
It’s almost like “extreme” is a relative term.
The party is rocketing leftward and cracking up simultaneously – it’s kind of fun and kind of scary to watch.
Am I the only one who sees a drastic shift to the left by the Dems on the chart while the GOP stays the same?
No.
If that’s not apparent by the antics of the current primary contenders, I just don’t think anything is going to change your mind.
And I think an accurate chart would also show the ‘Pubs getting dragged leftward over time, as well.
The Overton window does not seem to have ever moved toward more freedom.
It never does. It is the inevitable nature of government to grow ever bigger and more intrusive. There’s no way to reverse the trend without bloodshed, at least as far as I’m aware.
And, yes, sometimes it bothers me that my kids and grandkids may well get caught up in that bloodshed.
But they are so far right of the “median” (whatever that is) and based on another map in the thread they are close to AfD! Clearly, Republicans are far-right nazis.
Median is the idiot’s substitute for just and moral.
Love to see where they put the 2020 Dems – somewhere beyond the left margin of the page I would bet.
Fake graphs. Useful.
Cakes out of the oven, cherry-juice-laced Cool Whip in the freezer. Observations: 1) You can tear maraschino cherries open with your fingers. You do not need a knife. 2) Remember to butter and SUGAR your pans, not butter and flour your pans.
@Jarflax, I am ashamed. I missed your joke.
@l0b0t, how are you doing today? The last thing I baked was an elaborate peppermint cheesecake. I figured I was due something stupid simple that I like so much.
@Shirley Knott, I have never heard of Shaker lemon pie, but I will try it once I get my ass in gear for pie crust. Pie is not, in fact, easy.
I do have Ozy’s book in my inbox. Now let’s get this puppy on the bestseller lists!
Mwah! ?
From your lips to God’s Ears, Mme Mojeaux!
(Actually, in truth, I don’t give a crap about bestseller lists. I just had to get that thing off of my chest. It would be great if it made a few bucks, but I’ve still got a law degree. I’m not going to starve any time soon.)
Lawyers don’t starve until Scotland runs out of barley.
Mmm… red-stained fingertips. I’m fair to middling, thanks for asking. I’ve been wondering if I could pull off a savory rice pudding, yellow rice and chicken based maybe?
Oooh such euphemisms!
It made me blush.
…
The best way to pop a cherry is with your fingers? Who knew?
HA HA HA HA HA!!!! I was wondering how long that would take.
Here you go Mojeaux:
You need a Mandoline to make this well.
Crust for a double crust pie
3 large lemons, sliced thin (Mandoline!) and seeded. Peel and all. +1 extra in case you need more juice
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
4 large eggs
1 Tablespoon heavy crean*
Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Line 9” pie pan with 1 dough round, refrigerate for 30 minutes
Squeeze lemon slices over a fine mesh strainer. You need 6 Tablespoons of lemon juice. Reserve the juice.
Bring drained slices and 2 cups water to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce heat and simmer until slices are softened, about 5 minutes.
Drain well, discard liquid.
In a non-reactive mixing bowl, combine softened lemon slices, sugar, and 1/4 cup of the reserved lemon juice. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Whisk cornstarch & remaining 2 Tb of lemon juice. Whisk eggs into the cornstarch mixture. Then slowly stir in lemon slice mixture until combined.
Pour mixture into the chilled pie shell. Brush edge of dough with 1 tsp cream and top with remaining round of dough.
Seal and crimp edges, brush top with remaining cream. Cut 4 vents in top of pie.
Bake until light golden, and reduce heat to 375. Continue baking until golden brown. Cool on rack at least one hour.
*any liquid should work here — water, egg white, whatever; this may affect the color of the crust.
Enjoy!
Recipe from Cook’s Country, April/May 2008.
The pie tastes like an old style lemon drop.
Thanks for posting this recipe! How is the sweetness level?
It’s fairly sweet, but to my taste, the sweetness is well balanced with lemon. I’ve not had anyone complain it was too sweet, but YMMV.
Honestly, this knocked lemon meringue out of the #1 spot for me.

Rep. Paul Gosar trolls Nancy Pelosi with claim he ‘found’ torn State of the Union
Epic level troll, indeed.
SP is right, that’s all I know.
She’s always right.
[REDACTED]
Mo, I finished your book.
Fucking great ending that I wasn’t expecting at all.
Just like with the UCS and Animal, I saw you clearly in the characters – so cool!
I will think on it and review in more detail later, but I wanted to say thanks and fantastic job!
YAY!!!!! And thank you! Trey and Marina are the grandparents of the 3 main characters in Teh Bewbies, and he is referenced a little bit. Also, the “Two Rules Sermon” is pretty much what they live their lives by.
I wish I DIDN’T have so much of me in my characters. That’s a good way to go stale.
I have a billion questions but I’m hesitant to ask.
Otherwise, I grew up on Kansas City history and stories of Boss Tom. I had to twist myself into pretzels to keep true to the history and I had SOOOOOOOOOO much history to wade through and tried to insert things I found interesting (e.g., John Lazia basically telling Al Capone to get his ass out of town–and Capone actually obeying and staying away). Solly Weissman really was killed that way. I was baptized in the font where I wrote that last part and the church finally tore that building down (against the wishes of the historical society and the city of Independence) because they couldn’t justify the expense of keeping the boiler going. I never ate in that Kresge’s, but it was there.
And the thing that started the whole thing was that I worked in 1520 Main Street and knew there had been a speakeasy in the basement.
I’m glad the end surprised you. I thought I’d telegraphed it a gazillion miles away.
Fuck a duck. Edit fairy, haaaaalp?!?!
If I were a duck, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere near Kansas City. Just saying. [squints suspiciously]
! Right?! I know!
Fuck a duck.
Ha! There is one!
Ask away.
Okay.
Did Marina’s evolution seem organic? Did she surprise you at any point? I had a really hard time making a 16yo preacher’s daughter with no life experience interesting and smart.
Did you fault Trey for what he did to the Reverend Missus and Ethel?
By the end of the book, did you think they loved each other?
My first thought was no, but the backstory makes it more feasible. Coming from such a fucked up background and forced to develop that inner strength to live in that shitty household was a good way to treat it. I could never see Dot evolve that quickly, for instance.
He was a fucking asshole the whole time, so no, fault is not the right word. At first I was getting tired of him never learning to slow down and think before he lost it. Your explanation about the drugging made me much more sympathetic toward him, though.
Absolutely. Real life (and love) isn’t light and sweetness. It’s a ditch-fight a lot of the time, so to me their eventual relationship made sense.
You didn’t ask specifically, but the tension between 1520 and Marina was interesting. If you ask, I’ll bet you’ll find a lot of guys who have been confronted by this same conflict. Especially guys with their own business. The pressures of work and home are a hell of a challenging balancing act. And wives can and do get jealous of the ‘other woman’.
Make sense?
Thank you!
Yes, it makes complete sense. CA also noted that it was an interesting choice to make Marina the other woman to 1520.
No, Dot would never have evolved that quickly. In my mind, she never really evolves much more at all because she just never has that much hardship. Yes, she works hard, but she’s a spoiled brat and Gio’s going to continue to spoil her the way her father (unwittingly) did. That said, I don’t think Rev had much choice. He and Liz wanted a certain way of life and getting a spoiled daughter is kind of a consequence of that way of life.
Aside: Alpha assholes (aka “alphaholes”) are a staple of romance novels.
Yes, I figured some hyperbolic character traits were part of an unfamiliar genre (like ex-Seals in every fucking thriller), so it was easy to just roll with it.
Which book is the one you’re calling Teh Bewbies? Or is it one you’re working on and haven’t published yet?
The Proviso.
This is the re-edit/2nd edition.
I call it Teh Bewbies because the original/1st edition had a naked woman on it with her hands covering her boobs.
1520 Main
I’ll endorse this too. I really did enjoy reading it and how many of the twists were things I wasn’t expecting. Also, I think was expecting a more sweet romance which made some of the ways in which the protagonists got together rather interesting.
If you mean “sweet” romance as in not much nookie, that was about as sweet as I ever get. I couldn’t justify making Marina a horn dog or discussing “indecency” outright, so I had to tippy toe around it and not make the love scenes too graphic. Anything more explicit wouldn’t be true to her character or the tone of the book.
No, I think he means ‘sugary’. Hearts and puppies kind of thing. It was much more trainwreck than valentine.
Oh. I don’t do hearts and puppies. Train wrecks are my specialty.
Most of the characters coming out of Trey and Marina have some sort of mental illness (like Marina and her line). Trey and Marina end up having one truly evil daughter (they had 9 daughters, no sons).
The pirate that Elliott refers to that they are descendents of are the main characters in my pirate book. The heroine and her father have diabetes. That also gets passed down.
PUPPIES!
Let’s say the bet, the way in which the terms of the bet were initially met, and etc was kinkier than I expected. I was not expecting /that/.
Oh, huh. If she had been in her right mind, I might have written it more explicitly, but then, it wouldn’t have been met if she were in her right mind.
Has Not Adahn been around? I’ve run into a snag. For whatever reason, all the pikatinny 10/22 rails around here are sold out, and the darn optic I got doesn’t fit the stock ruger rails. Unless the stores closer to him have a few, I’m stymied this weekend for lack of a $10 part.
Hayek explosives hasn’t been around either. Hope it’s nothing to do with the biopsy.
She was here just a couple of days ago. Not Adahn was too.
I think Not A was here earlier or last time. Had a fall outside and tweaked something.
Owie.
Fortunately, my coffee cup works pretty darn well as a hot water bottle until I can get home for an actual heating pad.
Can you get a weaver to picatinny adapter?
BESTSUN Dovetail Weaver Picatinny Rail Adapter Extend 11mm to 20mm Tactical Scope Mount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BULEBLW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_U4BpEbHNRK2AR
Amazon isn’t giving the option of delivery before I need it.
It’s the time crunch rather than online availability.
Can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?
I’d be better off checking a few more stores when the weather clears. Most appear to be open saturdays.
Superglue is your friend.
Thankfully we only got rain down here, although the wind is picking up.
We got the messy snow, nearly ended up in trouble a few times Temp is supposed to bounce to either side of freezing, so it’s not going to be pretty for a while.
True story re: Steel Challenge with the 10/22
Before It got so popular, they let you bring as many firearms as you wanted. So one week, I brought the 10/22 along with my CZ. I didn’t want to complete against the good shooters who use optics, so I removed the scope. However, the rail was loctited on, and it’s between the front and back open sights, preventing you from actually using them. So basically, I jut had a front bead on the 10/22.
That week, my fastest time with the CZ was 4.56. That same stage shot with the 10/22 (no sights) was 3.08 sec.
The 10/22 is cheat mode.
I doubt I’ll have times in that range.
It really depends on the stage.
He’s around. And sore.
Surprisingly SS had nothing to do with it.
Are you passing through Pennsylvania to get to I84 to Saratoga? There are a slew of shops that might have them.
I could see what I could find. What day are you driving through?
That’s a bit out of the way. I’m afraid Ted is actually correct this time, I’m starting from the Albany area.
Somehow I doubt he’s going through PA on his way to Saratoga: He’s up near Albany. 😉
What’s a few hundred miles? I got my Glib tracker signals crossed.
I had no idea you were a Texan!
I’m here.
Did you get the model without irons?
The two stores I’ve been to between Albany and the club are The Outdoorsman in Latham and Zack’s sports in Malta. Zack’s also has a gunsmith onsite if it’s something that can be filed down.
Is it just a case of the spacing on the Weaver/dovetail hybrid not fitting a red dot mount? I’ve actually got an extra set of scope rings that will fit that rail.
I was at the Outdoorsman, they did not have any in stock, expected arrival some time next week.
There are iron sights on the rifle, and I was even debating trying with just irons since I have new glasses. But I seem tom recall it was more my ability to focus across the irons that was the problem.
See above, I’ve had great success just using the front sight shot-style.
shotgun-style
We’ll see what happens. I at the very least have the rifle, magazines and ammunition. (… and hearing protection, and eye protection… etc)
Yeah, my times are going to suck this weekend. It hurts to draw from the holster. It’s not bad once my arms are in position though.
You could also try Saratoga Weapons and Tactics. They seem to cater to practical shooters (and cops). It’s not too much further than Zack’s
I’ll check both of them if the weather’s better tomorrow. It’s supposed to be.
The China/coronavirus discussion above made me think of this. God only knows if it’s remotely accurate, but ….yikes.
Eeee-gads. One of the comments:
Dems show no signs of relenting on the stupidity.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/house-passes-labor-bill-that-allows-illegal-immigrants
They buried a clause in there that would eliminate right to work laws.
Unreal.
I do like them passing crackpot stuff like this – it’s like a sneak-preview of what’s in store when they get real power again.
Also in Dem stupidity – too local version:
If you’ve been mayor for 7 years and your city needs saving, it probably needs to be saved from you.

FAKE NEWS!
If you drink bleach, odds are you won’t be suffering from any illness afterwards.
Tide Pods work though, right?
Not on viruses, only bacteria.
Bleach works for viruses, but you have to use it in a soaked tampon, not by drinking.
