YOU’RE JUST BEING PARANOID: False claim: Australia’s coronavirus pandemic plan will “force vaccinate every man, woman and child”, send those who oppose the measure to “concentration camps.”  –Reuters, March 5, 2020. And while still technically true they are very much sending the unvaxed to “Centres for National Resilience.” Employment opportunities there are boundless. “Seeing Children, Adults, and Communities as at Promise, rather than as at Risk.

WINTER VAGINA: Symptoms of winter vagina include infections and Trish Coulton… We’re not sure what Trish Coulton is, but it sounds absolutely terrible. Take care of yourselves, vagina persons.

NAILED IT: Togetherness can only be restored when the community scapegoats a single person or a small group as responsible for the community’s woes. This scapegoat is collectively murdered or sacrificially expelled from society…  Whole thread here.

Ok, who’s going to be the first to let leftists know that Margaret Sanger was a eugenicist that hated black people and wanted them to get abortions?

Yeah, that drives them up the wall, as does the inconvenient link between Plecker, Hitler, and progressivism.

I think it was Tucker Carlson who put together a segment a few weeks ago about paying migrants who are separated from their families. In one clip Joe said “that’s crazy fake news”. The very next day he got the same question, and looking very stern and using an angry voice, he said, “These people were separated from their families! OF COURSE they will be compensated!” This is a man who’s not in charge, who has handlers reel him in when he says something they don’t approve of.

This cunte cannot be primaried soon enough.

“President Trump continues to make the same false claims about a stolen election, with which he has misled millions of Americans. These are the same claims he knows provoked violence in the past. He has recently suggested that he wants to debate members of this committee,” Cheney said.

“This committee’s investigation into the violent assault on our Capitol on Jan. 6 is not a game. When this committee convenes hearings, witnesses will be called to testify under oath,” she continued. “Any communication Mr. Trump has with this committee will be under oath. And if he persists in lying then, he will be accountable under the laws of this great nation and subject to criminal penalties for every false word he speaks.”

It would seem that in order to prove that he is lying would require a real investigation of the claims. The committee is ok with this I assume.

This is becoming tedious. It’s like when COVID first showed up, they tracked every single case and had everyone convinced they could keep the barbarians outside the gates. There’s no way they just HAPPENED to find the only 3 cases in the country. This variant has been here a while.

      • Ownbestenemy

It was a month or so back when some doctor made a claim that they aren’t testing for the Delta because if you have COVID, you have Delta. I will have to find that. So yeah, I am with you, this has been in country for a bit longer than this week.

      • Compelled Speechless

That’s been a question I’ve had for a while. How do the tests discern between the variants? Anyone here with some actual medical or biology knowledge that could explain that to me? If they don’t, how can they possibly make any scientific claims about what each variant is doing and how it’s spreading?

      • DEG

PCR and rapid tests do not as far as I know.

My understanding is there are labs with the ability to tell the difference between variants, but most test samples do not go to those labs.

I’ll defer to anyone will actual knowledge/experience here.

Wow. Whoever Noah Smith is, he has an active imagination if that tweet is any indication. First, conservatives are all terrified of minorities procreating. Then there’s the idea that anti-abortion folks are so unprincipled that they’d throw their position on the issue overboard if they got wind of the notion that outlawing abortion would result in greater numbers of minorities. To be fair, Noah probably goes months and years without ever encountering someone who holds a principled position on anything.

‘We’re f—ked’: A popular Northern California tourism spot’s ‘land grab’ ignites fight with town

After nearly 20 years of attempting to acquire the vacant Georgia-Pacific mill site near the city of Fort Bragg, an ongoing war of words with city officials and an ill-timed “oversight” on behalf of the city’s attorneys, the company that owns the Skunk Train used eminent domain to acquire 270 acres of land that includes the mill site as well as 20% of the city of Fort Bragg.

“The deed signed over and it’s done,” said Fort Bragg Vice Mayor Jessica Morsell. “We’re f—ked on that, 270 acres have been grabbed, and we have no legal mechanism to block that at this point because it was ceded by Georgia-Pacific.”

And why might they be so pissed?

Under her theory, Georgia-Pacific sought to cede the land to Mendocino Railway to escape any potential liability over necessary remediation of the land, as the abandoned mill site is rife with arsenic and harmful carcinogens.

Amherst, NH man that threatened Congresscritters will go to jail

Booze and heavy doses of right-wing misinformation pushed Navy veteran Ryder Winegar to call members of Congress last year, threatening to rape and murder them if they did not support President Donald Trump.

    He’s now going to prison.

Winegar’s attorney, Charles Keefe, told the court this week his client regrets his actions and now rejects the ideology that led him to prison.

“After months of becoming caught up in ultra-conservative news-outlet information, and allowing himself to be indoctrinated with a dogma spewed by the former president and his followers, Ryder’s depression and anxiety found an outlet,” Keefe wrote. “Fueled by his intoxication, Ryder proceeded to leave a series of disgusting, racist, and threatening voicemails for six members of Congress regarding the results of the 2020 presidential election.”

Keene, NH is considering resurrecting its mask ordinance. I couldn’t find a news story on it, but I found this editorial on it.

Last week, the hospital reported up to 15 people waiting in the emergency department for a bed over the past week, and President and CEO Dr. Don Caruso said the problem is occurring at hospitals all over the state. A week earlier, Cheshire Medical stopped scheduling elective surgeries that might require patients to stay overnight, for a lack of beds.

Caruso has been stumping for the city to reinstate its mask mandate for months. It seems he’s finally found a voice on the council in Randy Filiault, who first proposed the city’s mask mandate last year. Filiault has said he plans to bring up reinstating it at this week’s council meeting.

The council’s rules normally call for two readings of a proposed ordinance, which also must be sent before a subcommittee. However, with holiday shopping and travel underway, that weekslong process ought to be trimmed as much as possible. Masks aren’t a panacea, but they do help contain the spread of the virus, especially worn indoors.

‘Not good at all’: Spike in Massachusetts COVID-19 infections show pandemic isn’t over, experts say

Massachusetts reported the highest number of COVID-19 infections and hospitalization rates in months on Wednesday, and specialists say it’s a grim reminder that the pandemic is far from over.

“We’ve been watching the case numbers and the hospitalizations closely, and this very closely parallels what we saw last year,” Sax said.

On Wednesday, the seven-day proportion of COVID tests that returned positive was 5.14 percent, a level not seen since last January.

“EXCLUSIVE: ‘I thought they were going to kill my daughter’: NY mom-of-three reveals why she’s risking seven-year sentence at trial rather than taking a plea for mowing down 50 BLM protesters when they mobbed her car

A white New York City mother said she feared for her daughter’s life as a group of protesters started attacking her car and decided to hit the gas, eventually plowing into a group of activists last year.

Kathleen Casillo, 53, a retired FedEx worker of over 20 years, faces seven years in prison after turning down a six-day community service and one year license suspension plea deal on Wednesday, for the collision in which nine activists were injured.

Casillo, of Howard Beach, Queens, had been going Christmas shopping with her then 29-year-old daughter, Dominique, on December 11, 2020, when she says a group of protesters started banging on her car and breaking her daughter’s window at the intersection of 39th Street and Third Avenue.”

She turned down six days of community service and a year without a DL? Brave. I hope she’s got a strong case.

      • Tres Cool

I like to think that the fact the prosecution offered that, they know they have weak case.

The video is a little rough – she’s accelerating through the crowd vs. just keeping a good forward-progress. But under stress, I don’t think I’d be any more restrained.

      breaking her daughter’s window

Key fact. She’d be acquitted in 90+% of the country. NYC? I dunno.

29 year old daughter, might make a difference.

OT- from the last thread, no defense needed! I hope you get back to normal quickly and whenever the next installment is, I’ll enjoy it then. (Said the guy who binge read books long before binge [anything] was popular). Very appreciative of all the content glibs donate to here.

Thank you! I feel like I’m on the tail end of it, and hopefully for real this time. Upper respiratory bug followed by stomach bug followed by lower respiratory bug & cough. Nothing particularly awful, but I’ve never been sick for this long before. Coming up on 4 weeks at this point.

I’m simultaneously excited for and dreading the next episode. I have some great ideas for scenes in the next one or two episodes, and I have a general plot arc laid out, but I wrote myself into a corner at the end of the last one. I’m still debating how to connect the dots from where I left off to the next scene I have in mind. Most of the ideas have felt schlocky or anti-climactic.

Then wouldn’t it be 50, not 9 injured? Mendacious fucks. Oh, it was crowd of 50. Missed a few I guess. Mendacious fucks. Protestors? Mendacious fucks.

      • Gustave Lytton

        And a naval militia!

However, in 2008, following an investigation of the leadership of Brigadier General Thomas Westall, then serving as the head of the ASDF, Governor Sarah Palin ordered the ASDF to disarm.

Re: that first tweet, I’ve also seen lefties complaining that banning abortion is (of course) white supremacy.

Reminds me of the 80s arguments over welfare, when the left argued that being against welfare was racist and also haha most welfare recipients are white you stupid racist republicans.
