That’s all I got for today. I’ll leave you with a song and move along with my day.
I am not sure why I even read CDC stories…
Smdh
So you can learn what the best and brightest are
suggestingtelling you to do so you stay healthy?I am SCIENCE!
I am GULLIBLE!
I wouldn’t bother. I wouldn’t think most people on the right would be “confused” about CDC COVID guidance — “They pull it out of their posteriors” isn’t a very confused stance, after all.
The CDC cannot provide clear guidance without admitting so much of what they’ve been peddling is bullshit. Have some sympathy.
Like quicksand, once you’re in it’s hard to get out.

I was with it until all the pants dropped. WTF?
Ugh. That is a grim set of links.
Thanks for harvesting them, Banjos, but it does leave me down a bit because authoritarian assholes are taking over successfully.
They tried spin and indoctrination and persuasion for decades, but now that ordinary people are resisting or at least hesitant (largely thanks to the Internet), the lefties are just grabbing power by any means necessary.
Another Grim Milestone of Covid.
Seems almost certainly tied to:
Personally, I wouldn’t trust him or Kemp to do jack over squat about election integrity. They blew that entirely in 2020.
They don’t want honest elections. They can’t win that way.
Umm, are you talking the Republicans he is talking about, or Democrats?
TEAM BE RULED.
They win either way, so it doesn’t really matter how any election goes.
I put ingredients for honey wheat berry bread in my 1995 era Zojirushi Jr. bread machine (that’s a quality device) so it’s time to nap a while longer and then wake up to fresh baked bread.

I blame cloud computing. It’s like “The Fappening” but much more hurtful. Grandpa said that nobody would ever see those 8mm films.
I was about to say the same. That one is priceless.

It still boggles my mind that they’ve made a rather silly cosplay mostly peaceful protest into the next Fort Sumter and people have gradually absorbed the repeated lie as truth.
Messed up the copy paste of the headline.
Never forget!
Was supposed to be this.
Torturing of political prisoners, refusal to release video, refusal to clarify the FBI’s involvement, carrying on their pantomime witch hunt.
I think anyone with two brain cells to run together knows the whole thing stinks to high heaven.
Local news has several headlines about remembering the Capital “riots”. Yet there were no such headlines for the destruction of our downtown area by “mostly peaceful protestors”. They did report on the two or three convictions that resulted from the “mostly peaceful protestors” though.
One of our locals is ///fakenews.
President Joe Biden marked the first anniversary of the U.S. Capitol insurrection Thursday by delivering remarks tailored to the “singular responsibility” former president Donald Trump had in the deadly assault on the Capitol.
Biden also reiterated his call during his inaugural address for leaders to speak the truth about the attack and what motivated it.
Republicans had Benghazi, Democrats have Jan 6th.
Still can’t believe it’s been less than a year. Wish my home state was normal.
*ahem*
I think we need to have a moment of silence for the Confederate militia horse that died at Ft. Sumter. It was the lone casualty.
On J6 I fully expect to see a more disgusting display than when they paraded Scitnik’s body around even though he died of unrelated causes.
If progressives don’t have anything to screech about, they make something up.
This is too delightful not to share:
??
Yeah, she’s off to a tremendous start.
Businesses like regulations.
Businesses don’t just love regulations – what they really love are MORE regulations (including ones that contradict previous still-enforced regulations).
Businesses love regulations, it gives them boundaries. They don’t always know it or show it when they are young, but when they grow into mature businesses, the appreciate having had the discipline when they were younger.
As part of that exodus, all I have to say is….HAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Oh, wait, she was trying to be serious?
HAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Even if you had a governor of New York who, unlike Hochul, wasn’t a Democratic hack answerable to the NYC progressive caucus, it would be damn near impossible for them to make NY even marginally worth returning to. There’s a thousand other politicians and appointees, each with their own base of power and base of support who’d be pushing in the exact opposite direction. There’s a a hundred and fifty years (at least) of shabby deals that can’t be undone. And the minute you even tried to push things in a better direction, you’d be labeled a granny-killer (unlike Cuomo, who actually put COVID patients in old folks homes) who is nothing more than a spokesman for all that is wrong and evil in the world. Or even worse, a Republican.
Also part of the exodus, I had an old boss call and offer me a job. Almost double what I used to make working there. I had to tell him they don’t have enough money to get me to to move back to that hellhole. Especially once you get a taste of slightly fresher air outside the metro northeast area.
Did you tell him you would do it for that pay, but working remote?
It was a pretty hands on job. Might’ve been able to get away with it if I was working remote from PA (30 minutes from the job) and could come in the office sometimes. Western Wisconsin not so much.
I like that the CDC has basically come out and said they are just trying to come up with something they can pretend people won’t completely ignore.
what an amazing day
A year ago it was today, January 6, a day that will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the tiny American flag-waiving meemaws of the Trumpian Khanate…

Chicago teachers union votes to return to remote learning
How is it that the teacher’s union gets to decide whether public schools should be open or not?
Follow the money. The teachers unions run every blue city. What they say, goes.
My immediate thought would be — “If it is *remote* learning, we can fire you all and sign all of our students up in remote classes that are established and proven.” But Beetlejuice obviously isn’t going to do that.
Because FYTW. They are the largest donors to the Dems and when the Union says “Jump” the spineless Dems ask “How high?” At least a third of my Graduating class became teachers. Pretty much Karens all. I’ve mentioned this before but my high school was basically a teacher mill.

Georgia opens investigation into possible illegal ballot harvesting in 2020 election
Here you are spouting the Big Lie on dis, the day of the insurrection anniversary.
President Biden will mark first anniversary of Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection with a speech blaming Trump for the ‘chaos and carnage’
He can’t very well rattle off a list of his own accomplishments and successes.
He can brag about his covid #s. High score wins, right?
What do you mean? I stopped for gas on the way home a couple days ago, and there were several stickers on the pump praising one of Biden’s accomplishments. This in a blue collar, auto union, teamster heavy suburb.
A bunch of desperate dummies falling off transport planes is a “Win” one would suppose. I don’t understand why they are so goddamned evil. Anyone caught wearing a pink hat before or after that debacle should be shunned and mocked.
It’s not like those stupid rednecks have any grievances unless Trump tells them what they are.
Dozens of people rely on CNN to tell them what’s happening in the world, and how they should feel about it.
The others get their news on twitter/facebook which may not be a big improvement. Whoops sorry Meta

Yes, much more likely this.
Or to recover it. I’m assuming the FBI or others already have copies.

“We gave warnings, and people need to pay attention to these warnings, and the less people that are on the highways when these storms hit, the better,” Northam told The Washington Post.
Fewer…and if vdot can’t keep an interstate highway clear wtf is the point?
VDOT is wholly incompetent and has been for decades.
Hell, I know of one upper manager there who oversaw a failed overpass that had to be repoured, and then was in charge of the MidTown Tunnel when it flooded and it became apparent that they had been skipping the tests of the flood doors.
She’s still there.
You can falsify safety inspections at WMATA and still have a job.
To give another example of a well-known interstate.
When I-295 around Richmond was built, it was known that the aggregate which was being used in the concrete mix had high amounts of free amorphous silica.
Free amorphous silica in concrete aggregates leads to a gelling reaction around the aggregate when exposed to water and will eventually cause failure. The acronym is ASR but it’s more affectionately known as concrete cancer.
VDOT’s position was “Who cares, we’ll eventually put asphalt over it anyway.”
It was probably corruption since obtaining the correct aggregate for the mix would have cost more and probably required a supplier change.
We gave warnings,
I was reading that all those DOT signs along the highways never stopped showing “Wear Your Mask” and “Get Your Shot” messages. They never switched over to “Holy Crap, 50 Mile Long Back-Up Ahead”.
Also “It’s too fucking late to exit so you’re stuck”. That’s my favorite.

President Joe Biden is preparing to give every rapist and molester in federal prison a get-out-of-jail-free card. Specifically, Biden is offering to transfer any and all male criminals to women’s prisons. All the men will have to do is say that they feel like a woman, and the Biden administration will take them at their word.
Honk honk.

“I don’t think you can be the biggest jerk in the league and punish your team, and your organization and your fan base the way he did and be the Most Valuable Player,” Arkush said on 670 The Score in Chicago. “Has he been the most valuable on the field? Yeah, you could make that argument, but I don’t think he is clearly that much more valuable than Jonathan Taylor or Cooper Kupp or maybe even Tom Brady. So, from where I sit, the rest of it is why he’s not gonna be my choice.” …
“There’s no guidelines,” Arkush said. “We are told to pick the guy who we think is most valuable to his team. And I don’t think it says anywhere, ‘strictly on the field,’ although I do think he hurt his team on the field by the way he acted off the field. They’re gonna get the No. 1 seed anyway, but what if the difference had come down to the Chiefs game, where he lied about being vaccinated, ended up not playing and they got beat? I think all these things should be considerations.” …
“He ruined the entire offseason for that football team,” Arkush continued. “They were left in jeopardy, they had no idea what they were doing. A lot of the off the field stuff was wasted because he wasn’t there. He tortured his fanbase and he’s already started doing it again.” …
“I just think that the way he’s carried himself is inappropriate. And the vaccine thing was just one more log on the fire, so to speak,” Arkush said. “I think he’s a bad guy, and I don’t think a bad guy can be the most valuable guy at the same time.”

I’ve found a conundrum. I’ve been working with a sub contractor that regularly steals my supplies for about 3 years. Problem being, she is very charming and attractive and also bailed me out in her own fashion when I fell sick a couple of years ago. I don’t care if she steals the company’s materials very much but she actually ripped me off last weekend and denied doing it. She’s hotter than the pits of hell. Eat the loss and don’t make waves or freak out? I could give two shits about the Corp and their money but this Lady is bad news. Maybe some people are wired a little differently.
Evict her from your life without freaking out.
If she’s willing to lie to you, how likely is it that she won’t lie about you? Three years from now if she gets in trouble, and claiming you tried to rape her will get her out of her bind, how confident are you that she will do the right thing?
Gently but firmly stop doing business with her.
Good advice but I don’t hire her.
Document the thefts. Ask for what she stole from you to be given back.
This and what Tarran said.
This is great advice.
She’s hotter than the pits of hell – that is why she is doing it cause she usually gets away with it. I blame toxic femininity
And yes, obviously.

Investigators found no evidence that the man who was found passed out in a car in Torrance with hundreds of recall election ballots planned to participate in election fraud, police said Tuesday.
The man, 34-year-old Eduardo Mena of Hawthorne, was arrested on Aug. 16, 2021 after he was spotted in a vehicle parked in the lot of a 7-Eleven convenience store.
Inside the car, police found about 300 ballots, a loaded firearm, methamphetamine, thousands of pieces of mail, multiple California drivers licenses and credit cards in other people’s names, authorities said.
He was indicted on charges of bank fraud, aggravated identity theft, possession of stolen mail and being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to police.
As you can see the courts have evaluated the evidence and found election fraud does not exist. Therefor claims of election fraud is a vast rightwing conspiracy to overthrow American democracy.

“It’s a bland normie take, but it’s still wrong. Capitalism is good only if your economy needs to move fast and break things, and the negative externalities created won’t come back to bite you. I’m coming up empty on a present example that isn’t on the bad end of both of those.”
Gah!
Here’s the thing about government provided stasis. It creates more and more severe negative externalities due to the lack of accountability than an actual capitalistic free market.
The vaccines are a perfect example. The regulators may have had good intentions going in, but when the data said STOP, they completely ignored it because of the creative destruction it would have wrought on their careers.
Chances are you have that idiot holding two diametrically opposed ideas – first, the democracy ensures we have government responsive to the people, and second, rule by expert bureaucrats to ensure that government does the right thing not what people want.

Good morning Glibs! I got to do the “papers please” thing to get into the rink in Chicago last night. Our rookie (the one I wrote about) is under 18 and our team is fine with him being unvaxxed, but now the city won’t let him in the rink and it looks like his season is over. It amazes me how in the last month everyone has realized these vaccines don’t work nearly as well as advertised, yet our fearless leaders keep doubling down on mandates.
Ozy and the rest of the Glib lawyers, is it now possible to argue that vaccines *don’t* keep you safe? They don’t prevent transmission, they don’t prevent people from catching it, and the best they can do is maybe reduce your symptoms depending on the variant. That doesn’t sound like something that’s critical to keep people safe in the workplace. It’s like mandating that everyone wear a certain helmet that doesn’t prevent injuries, it just reduces the number of stitches some people will need when a specific type of brick falls on them.
You guys refused to enter in solidarity, right?
I don’t know if there is some type of disability exemption, but our team captain spent some time trying to convince the guy at the table that there was one, and that he didn’t need to check our cards.
You should count yourself lucky that the mayor didn’t send in the national guard to deal with all the white nationalist terrorists.
She needs a distraction right now, big-time.
The high rates of infection of (and presumably transmission by) the vaxxed and boosted show that vaccinations do not serve a public health purpose. Which means all the mandates are illegitimate, even on the most bare utilitarian grounds.
They do seem to reduce severity for some (significant?) number of people, but that protection wanes over time, even without variants. That means they are essentially a prophylactice therapeutic, a treatment not a preventive measure, and treatments are outside the purview of public health.
Thank you. Do you think we’ll start seeing people use this argument in their legal challenges?
Ask Ozy. He’s much more tuned in than me.

My wife used to watch that show.
One day I asked her “Why do you watch a show filled with people you don’t like?”.
She said about a week later that thought kept bothering her and eventually she quit.
I will never understand “reality” TV.
It’s hilariously fake and dramatic. Some things are just for pure entertainment, with no redeeming social or educational value. It’s just…enjoyment without strings attached.
So no It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Seinfeld, dark comedy movies, or most of the Coen brothers movies? All of those are filled with terrible people getting their comeuppance for our entertainment.
That’s different, at least to me. I cannot watch “reality” TV, but Seinfeld is hilarious.
I see commercials for Millionare Joe and I have no idea why anyone would watch that either.
I don’t watch much that would fall under “reality” TV (some cooking competition shows and Holey Moley), but I would guess the reason is the same as people who watch Professional Wrestling. It’s so heavily edited and melodramatic that it’s easy to tell who the good and bad guys are.
I used to watch a lot of that crap. Sometimes it’s just amusing to see awful people in action. I gave it up some years ago.

Setting the stage…
IAN BREMMER, EURASIA GROUP: This is the most important midterm election in American history. We have January 6 coming in just a day.
As we know from the profoundly challenged election of 2020, no lessons have been learned at all in the U.S., the country is much more divided.
Some 64% in a poll from NPR yesterday said they thought the United States democracy was in crisis. Unlike countries like Japan and Germany and Canada… the United States has an election process that is increasingly broken and increasingly delegitimized.
The midterm elections especially, if you have a significant win for a Trump-led Republican Party, means that 2024 will be seen as illegitimate and potentially a constitutional crisis.
“When Democrats win it is the cleanest election in the history of elections. When Republicans win it is illegitimate.”
and increasingly delegitimized.
Hmm, and what election exactly do we trace that to?
Bush-Gore?
The midterm elections especially, if you have a significant win for a Trump-led Republican Party, means that 2024 will be seen as illegitimate and potentially a constitutional crisis.
Do they really think we’re all just utter morons? Or is there client base just that desperate to have their biases confirmed? They’re towing the whole “democracy in crisis due to delegitimized elections” line while simultaneously saying that the party that lost in the last election winning would be illegitimate. Does it even occur to them that that’s a contradiction of claims?
This isn’t like we’re talking about some imbecile writing on the Daily Kos or even some schmuck staff reporter writing for CNN or the Washington Post. Companies pay these guys real money for their analysis and this is the garbage they’re delivering? I guess the crap we’ve been getting from our outside economic consultants makes more sense now.

You misspelled “persecuting”.
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday defended the Justice Department’s approach to prosecuting those involved in the Jan. 6 riot, signaling the potential for charges against those who never set foot in the Capitol.
“The actions we have taken thus far will not be our last. The Justice Department remains committed to holding all January six perpetrators at any level, accountable under law, whether they were present that day, or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy. We will follow the facts wherever they lead,” Garland said on the eve of the attack’s one-year anniversary.
At least as AG he’s out in a few years. Imagine that fuck on the Supreme Court. You won’t hear me say it often, but “thank you Mitch McConnell”.
This guy is a legitimate menace to the country.
I don’t know how else to see it.
The other day, there was a flurry of
news storiestalking points about the horrific prospect of a “bidding war” for omicron targetted antibody treatments. It would be wrong to allow states to offer up a concrete mode of reference for their degree of need. It would be better if Big Nanny doled those doses out like Santa, based on who has been naughty and who has been nice. So what if that results in doses being warehoused “just in case” instead of being available for immediate treatment? That is one of the most bizarre outcomes of the all-propaganda, everything is political version of the press we have today.
Florida reported great success with their program to distribute antibody treatments for free to anyone at drive-up centers.
So the Biden administration comes in and says it isn’t equitable for Florida to have had the foresight to lock up contracts and get the stuff distributed…. So the feds decided they were going to block any further shipments to Florida so they could be distributed more “equitably”. They even went so far as to say they did not want to reward Florida for being terrible and allowing people to get sick, so they were pulling treatments because they don’t deserve them.
In a sane world, there would have been a media firestorm. in reality? The media was all on board, ridiculing DeSantis for having so many sick people and thinking it was OK to treat sick people if you didn’t lock down the economy and force vaccine mandates.
They will wish they had weathered a media firestorm. The firestorm that will eventually come will be much worse.
Will it? I keep hearing people say “Someday . . . “, but that day never seems to come.
I think the American frog may be well and truly boiled.
Yeah, it’s all over, the firestorm will not materialize. The willingness of the majority of Americans to just roll over and meekly accept the government’s violations of their rights and freedom under Covid has shown me that there is no hope of any serious resistance, no matter what they do.
I’m not anxious for it to come – it won’t be restorative. It will be vengeance and destruction.
You have to be flat out insane to think we’re going to ever get back what we had, and least of all by killing a lot of people – even those that deserve killing.
What do you think will finally trigger this? If withholding life saving drugs and letting people die isnt going to do it, what is?
Nationalizing retirement accounts?
Yeah — but we don’t talk about the New 52 Firestorm if we can help it.
Everyone knows there are no old people in Florida.
In a sane world, there would have been a rush to replicate that model elsewhere. It was months after it was clearly working to even start thing about changing directions in many states. Still haven’t in some.
Places in India and all of Japan have wiped out covid with ivermectin. Where are the journalists? It gets mentioned on Joe Rogan but nowhere else.

The True The Vote article from Georgia repeats a common talking point – “this would not have overcome Biden’s 12,000 vote lead”
Later: “suggested 242 people engaged in a total of 5,662 ballot drops, an average of 23 runs per alleged harvester,”
And
“Each drop box delivery would typically include between 5 to 20 ballots,” the complaint alleged
Combine that and we have some 50,000 ballots. That they were able to identify simply by looking at video and phone locations …. Mostly in the middle of the night, when no other people were around (making it easier to single out).
So if they are only half right, they have double the margin of victory. And if their midnight to 3 am window actually means they missed the majority of activity in daylight hours…. Maybe it is the tip of the iceberg. (Georgia moving from 60/40 Republican to slight Democrat majority in just a decade would certainly argue this is a possibility)
But even in a sympathetic article, this is buried way down at the bottom of the article.
*lights juris imprudent signal*
Yeah, I’m not interested in debating the outcome with anyone who thinks it impossible that Trump could lose. That’s a lost cause. I also note the absolute silence on dark money now from the left after Zuck’s half-billion dollar ‘investment’ in voting. So as far as I’m concerned – both of those camps deserve each other.

For some reason I always think big dogs look a bit unsafe next to babies
The dogs aren’t safe?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwsUVzZr7bI
well obviously the babies aren’t safe and you know that
There was a tradition of using dogs as babysitters that extended into the 1950s at least.
I’m sure some of the babies were probably eaten. But those that survived…
Seriously though, my grandmother used her boxer to keep tabs on my dad.
Pit bulls were originally known as “nanny dogs” for just that reason. There’s a reason the dog on Our Gang was a pit.
Ehh, my kids have been around GSDs and a Doberman from birth. The dogs would give their lives to protect the kids without thought. Zero risk.
Of course, some dogs can be dangerous. My wife’s cousin has a Belgian Malanois that has viciously bit multiple people, including children. Her uncle screamed at at my wife to get inside when she took my daughter outside from fresh air and they had let the dog out not realizing anyone else was outside. I was not there or would have put the dog down on the spot.
That’s horrifying. Dog bit multiple people and not put down yet? Irresponsible fuck.
Must live in Cook County
I sort of vaguely remember this being reported, but on Timcast MTG was talking about how when she was stripped of her committees she spent her time on the house floor requesting a recorded vote on every bill. She might still be a little nutty, but this is awesome.
she’s not crazy at all, that’s what the MSM wants you to think
She was a pizzagater? Maybe I am wrong about that.
Given all we have seen in the last few years, I am less willing to call the pizzagaters crazy.

In the 70s, Marvel let a Mexican publisher put out original Spider-Man comics, and the first thing artist José Luis González Durán did was give Gwen Stacy a ridiculously fat ass. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we, as nations, work together.

Everything is an emergency.
Governor Ralph Northam declared a State of Emergency on Wednesday night ahead of a predicted second bout of winter weather. …
The next winter storm is expected to arrive Thursday evening into Friday morning. In a statement, Northam said the problems resulting from Monday’s winter weather will exacerbate the impacts of the coming storm.
“Having two bouts of snow and icy weather back to back makes it more likely communities will need additional help as they continue to recover from the first round of tree-snapping wet snow and ice that we saw Monday,” Governor Northam said. “While we typically have ample resources for snowstorms, these back-to-back events will generate landmark winter weather that requires extra flexibility. I am grateful to the hundreds of first responders and emergency personnel who continue to work around the clock to keep Virginians safe.”
I bet it’s climate change what done it.
Warming causes snow. It is known.
well it is very warm… almost tshirt weather

Pep Guardiola tests positive for Covid amid major outbreak at Man City
The Health Ministry plans to set up evaluation centers for Covid-19 cases to prevent the overcrowding of hospitals’ emergency departments during the expected Omicron-fueled fifth wave.
The centers are meant for Covid-19 patients with moderate forms of the illness and associated risk factors, Oana Nicolescu, the head of the Bucharest Public Health Department (DSP), told News.ro.

Rep. Barbara Lee
@RepBarbaraLee
20 years after taking out student loans, the average white borrower has paid off 94% of their debt.
The average Black borrower still OWES 95% of their debt.
Say it with me: student loan debt is a racial justice issue.
https://twitter.com/RepBarbaraLee/status/1478761234132578311
do blacks and whites get the same degrees generally? And given the magnitude of student debt I doubt white borrowers repay that much. Maybe 10 years ago but not the critical studies generation with current college prices in the US.
20 years? Holy shit, what a combination of inflated costs, poor returns on educational investment, and/or a lack of understanding of why the “minimum payment” is the minimum payment.
And I mean that for anyone, of any race or background. 20 years is far too long. If you haven’t got enough of a return on your student loans by then, it was a bad investment.
Paying off student loans is often a bad deal. They are usually heavily subsidized… So you can do better in the market and just pay the minimum.
It is not as obvious as paying off your 3.2% 30 year mortgage with a federal deduction for interest…. That was a no brainer… Keep it in the market.
I guess it matters if you prioritize not owing money to other people.
If you work for a nonprofit org or the government, it’s only 10 years before it’s wiped clean and with no taxes due.
If you game it right, you can go that 20yrs without paying any of it.
Uh….. I don’t think that data argues what she thinks it argues.
If that were true, it would very loudly argue for racial redlining in student loans.
What it has to mean is that most black student debt is new. Because you cannot discharge student loans. You gotta pay that back.
Personal anecdote: 30 years ago my black friends all had grants. They did not take out loans.
So nobody with debt from the 80s or 90s or prior is going to be a minority. And those are the only people who are going to be paid off.
What it has to mean is that most black student debt is new.
I’m going to believe her claim that it’s 20-years post taking out the loans in both cases. My suspicion is that it’s a function of majors and (well-documented) overplacement. It’s one of the consequences of affirmative action. Minority kids get accepted to programs that they’d get rejected for otherwise and wind up dropping out because they weren’t prepared for the more competitive environment. There’s a reason the percentage of minorities is reported for the incoming class, rather than the graduating class.
Also it should be noted that taxpayers footing the bill would only increase this problem.
A third of my educational costs came from scholarships, a third from grants, and a third from my own pocket because I was working. The only loan I took out was a $5500 loan my senior year to cover books and fix my car.
My friend in dutchland is doing an MBA and apparently the interest on loans is so low all his colleagues were shocked he wanted to pay it in cash instead of getting a loan
There is this thing called “paying your bills”.
Paying your bills is acting white, I guess? Like being on time?
I mean she’s correct in that student loans have completely failed to flatten inequality which was the stated goal.
Yes, Barbara, the education department preying on students in order to convince them to take out loans for useless degrees is a problem. Glad to see you’re catching up.
The Education Department with its own SWAT squad no less.
Sooo…whites paying back the money they borrowed while blacks apparently are not doing the same is racist?
Why does anybody care what Liz Cheney says?
If not for her old man, she’d be a housewife in a trailer park, trading discounted SNAP cards for canned wine.
Damn, that’s harsh.

Nobody except the media cares. They love her. (R) next to her name and she repeats DNC talking points. What is not to love?
Nah man, she’s bravely keeping the Trumpster scum in their place. She oughtta get a medal.
until I read that and looked her up I thought she was the
gaylesbianLGBTQ daughter. I wonder if that one is more or less pandery to the left.Looking up that one I found this:
In 1993, she became one of the first employees of the Colorado Rockies baseball team, working in promotions when the team began playing in Denver; thereafter, she was a public relations manager for the Coors Brewing Company, and worked as a gay outreach coordinator, helping to end a national gay boycott of Coors.[3][4]
WTF did gay people have against coors?
She traveled the country defending the company at meetings of gay radicals who oppose the G.O.P. politics of the Coors family.
Say it with me: student loan debt is a racial justice issue.
Say it with me: telling every kid in America to go to college is a giant swindle.

I hope she properly attributed that to Martin Luther King.
Occasionally, Bari Weiss has something interesting on her podcast/substack, but she is very prone to buying into the standard neocon/nevertrump tripe.
For example, her latest interview with the super-genius Jonah Goldberg.
Now mind you, this is the guy who wrote back in 2002:
If that doesn’t imply a cult of something, I’m not sure what does.
When was this? Reagan? In reality, his administration’s actions were as conservative as GWB’s compassionate progressivism.
You’d have to go pre-Buckley, that god-awful warmongering piece of human filth.
Of course, Goldberg doesn’t really acknowledge that a conservative right existed prior to Bill and hated him.
It also raises the question of how Jonah can possibly be so upset about Capitol tourists somewhat tearing up the joint, but has absolutely no issue with destroying a country and its people, simply because we can.
Naked expressions of power don’t seem to be an issue for him unless they’re going the way he doesn’t want.

He got a tingle.
Well…. Our school certainly didn’t get that much.
We did get a new roof from a bond issue that levied an additional sales tax. And we got a security door on our security vestibule… So now you have to get buzzed in to the little room where they check your ID and bus you in to the school. Seems a bit excessive…
Ahh, so everyone can get that juvie experience!
Is that where they put the leg chains on too? JFC.
Credit where credit is due, that’s a question that needed to be asked.

Georgia authorities have launched an investigation into an allegation of systematic ballot harvesting during the state’s 2020 general election and subsequent U.S. Senate runoff and may soon issue subpoenas to secure evidence, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger confirmed to Just the News.
Perfect timing.
The CDC updated its guidance around isolation again on Tuesday, declining to add a clear testing recommendation while saying that people can take a test if they have “access” and “want to.” The new guidelines came as millions of Americans wait in hours-long lines to get tested during a record-breaking surge in cases.
Abolish the CDC.

“Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place in our calendars, but a place in our collective memory. December 7th, 1941. September 11, 2001. And January 6th, 2021.” …

What they were assaulting were the institutions, the values, the ideals that generations of Americans have marched, picketed, and shed blood to establish and defend.”
Let’s get those numbers up, people!
Earlier this week, the U.S. reported a record 1 million new daily Covid cases — and that might only be the tip of the iceberg.
That’s due, in part, to the skyrocketing number of at-home Covid tests that have been sold since the virus’ highly infectious omicron variant arrived in the U.S. last month. Clinics and doctors’ offices are required by law to report Covid test results to state and local public health officials, but people who take at-home tests aren’t — and many of those test results don’t get reported.
Now, many health experts are encouraging people to report positive at-home tests to their state’s public health agencies to help their area’s pandemic response planning, which includes guidelines for contact tracing and mask-wearing.
Yes, yes, of course.
Turn yourself in. Report for sterilization.
I tested at home and didn’t report. *takes bow*
For pregnancy? ?
Daily cases after a long holiday weekend are a garbage number, because the reporting agencies are catching up on the backlog. We are two years into this thing and reporters should know this by now. If they do know it, then they are reporting that number just to amplify the fear. If they don’t know it, then they are stupid.
Contact racing? I thought that was useless after a pandemic was past its early stages.

Covid is over. Fuckers can’t even bother to cover their pie holes when coughing out a lung.
And you can spot the contract nurses at the hotel. They’re the ones wearing their scrub shirts or do-rags. The same outfits they wear at work without changing, no doubt. Infection controls, how the fuck do they work? (Not just Covid by any stretch, but all of the long-standing bugs that live in that environment)
A hotel full of nurses that most likely are out of town, away from their families…?
Where can I find such a place?
Anywhere hospitals laid or drove off their own staff and need to backfill with very expensive contract labor.
/considers local hospitals

DAMN!
RC Dean may is likely qualified to weigh-in, but a local grown-people hospital is using Guard/Reserve assets according to a co-worker who’s wife works there. Down the street, a friend of mine works at a local children’s hospital, and they’re currently overstaffed. Now, in my line of work, if you need a piece of equipment or a body for a project, you call a friend in the industry or even a competitor, and ask to borrow/rent the thing.
I’d like to think that these 2 medical care facilities, in walking distance of each other, could do the same with staff.
The travelers also seem to be largely small statured immigrants. I’m not seeing the morbidly obese healthcare workers in that subset.

Maxwell’s attorney will ask for a new trial
Ghislaine Maxwell will ask for a new trial after two jurors came forward to reveal that they were victims of sexual abuse and that their experiences helped guide other jurors to convict, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The announcement came amid a flurry of Federal court filings on Wednesday following interviews given by juror Scotty David and a second anonymous juror in which both admitted that they shared their experiences of sexual abuse during deliberation.
David told first DailyMail.com and, later, other news outlets that he did not remember the question in the juror questionnaire which specifically asked potential jurors if they or any friend or family member had been the victim of sexual abuse or assault. Though he insisted that he had answered all questions, ‘honestly.’
That was a given.
At least her attorney isn’t working against her.
We need a solution to the
Jewishunvaccinated problem.“So, look, first, we’ve got to get the ethical ground back on the side of people doing the right thing, that praise them, that acknowledge that they’re doing the right thing,” Caplan responded. “When I hear people say our first value is autonomy, and liberty, and I don’t want to get vaxed, and I don’t want to do anything to help my neighbor, or help people who are weak or vulnerable, one of the important things we can do is shift the moral ground. We’ve got to start praising people who do the right thing. Not saying, well, there’s a tradeoff of values. Some people are going to help their neighbor[,] orient toward the community, try to protect one another. And then there are going to be jerks who aren’t going to do that.”
“Let’s get the equation straight. And people may be thinking, well, so what? What difference does it make where we put a moral emphasis? It makes a lot of difference,” Caplan continued. “Shame, guilt, calling people out when they’re not doing the right thing. I don’t see moral equivalency if you’re not doing the right thing by getting vaccinated, by trying to get tested when you can find the tests, by trying to take precautions when you’re around the weak and the vulnerable.”
“We’re going to be talking about COVID this time next year if we don’t get more people to do the right thing,” he later added. “So we can’t write them off. We can penalize them more. We can say, you’re going to pay more on your hospital bill if you weren’t vaccinated. You can’t get life insurance or disability insurance at affordable rates if you aren’t vaccinated. Those companies should not treat us as equals in terms of what the financial burdens are that that disease imposes.”
I don’t want to do anything to help my neighbor, or help people who are weak or vulnerable
Direct quotes, I’m sure.
Unvaxxed = uncaring piece of shit. Just write that next time. Its shorter and to your point Caplan. If you wouldn’t have gotten your panties in a twist when we called out all the fatties years ago, then maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation now wouldn’t we?

Tres Sr. was on-board with the jab from the moment it was available and just couldnt understand why I was reluctant. He actually went so far as to call me selfish, since in the event he had a medical emergency, I would be the one occupying a bed he needed.
I love that when I was here sick as a damn dog with CoVID, he ended up in the hospital needing oxygen for a very severe case of bronchitis. Even at age 82 he still smokes a pack of cigarettes a day. It was my turn to call out his selfish behavior, since I very well may have needed a spot in the hospital, but since he insists on smoking he hogged my spot in the ER.
I am trying to help my neighbors by letting them know that the vaccines are poison.
Arthur Caplan can shove it up his fat, diabetic ass.
Ah Caplan, the ethics apologist, rationalizing away clearly immoral and unethical actions for years. And the self appointed GTG for the press to quote in that area.
I tend to agree with Insty’s disdain for bioethicists. Your go-to guys to greenlight your horrible, immoral ideas.
Go fuck yourself.
Bioethics study ethics like Obama studied the Constitution.
No. They should charge you more, since the likelihood of you suffering a cardiac event is much higher.
The mechanisms of vaccine damage are being exposed.

The upshot is the vaccines (gene therapies) are causing cells throughout the body, but primarily in the lymph glands and blood vessel walls, to generate spike protein. Our immune system recognizes the spike protein as unwanted and then begins to attack those cells causing damage, particularly to the blood vessels. With each successive shot, this immune reaction becomes more pronounced and spreads further through the body as your blood vessels become leaky from the previous immune attack.
The pathology data is showing auto-immune damage (inflammation) throughout the body but particularly around the heart, leading the pericarditis and myocarditis.
It’s worth noting that mRNA treatments have been used successfully in the past without this reaction. But there is one significant difference, mRNA and other gene transfer treatments have never been used to cause your body to generate a protein that is foreign to your body. They have always been used to generate proteins that are lacking in a normal system, hence their great potential for treating many genetic conditions that express themselves as missing proteins and broken biochemical pathways.
By causing your body to create a protein which is recognized as a foreign invader, it’s causing massive auto-immune damage. And because of the size of the immune response, other diseases which were being held in check (shingles, herpes, cancers, etc…) are being allowed to express themselves.
It’s not good.
I hear IM v. IV makes a big difference too.
No time to read or watch now. Does this include J&J or just Pfizer and Moderna?
All of them.
They differ only in delivery mechanism, but they all cause your own cells to produce what your body recognizes as a toxin.
J&J was not mRNA to my knowledge.
Well, that’s terrifying. Let’s see if it pans out, and if anyone will listen.
Regarding my ulcers and meat problem that I whined about yesterday: Meat seems to be tolerable if I eat an equal amount of cheese with it.
? Two great tastes that taste great together
We need more problems that are solvable by cheese.
Gouda luck!
We need Swiss’s narrowed gaze here.
