No Jewsday Tuesday Open Post

There was supposed to be a Jewsday dropping in this evening, but OMWC was busy. He said something about a port and hummus.

So, have an Open Post on him!

I've got an idea! How about we just stick to the Constitution as written and then the government can leave me the fuck alone.

I toast the open post. Cheers!

    • Plisade

      Foist & foibles?

  2. Ted S.

    Is port wine kosher?

    • commodious spittoon

      Which coast is that on?

      • Hyperion

Pretty sure Portugal only has one coast and it’s facing West from the other side of the pond, so the Atlantic.

      • Mostly Peaceful JaimeRoberto

        Left.

    • Rebel Scum

      Is cheap wine kosher?

      • Hyperion

I heard that Budweiser is kosher, if that helps.

  3. Not Adahn

Geez. Don’t (((they))) have enough holidays already?

  4. UnCivilServant

    “Neutrino went missing in Sanalta.”

“Are they sending you to rescue him?”

    “Just recon.”

“And this had to happen at Christmas because?”

“It’s the only school break long enough.”

    Donny frowned.

“If Dad didn’t tell you, then they’re probably trying to keep it as quiet as possible.”

“Don’t worry, you know I know how to keep a secret.” Donny plastered on the smarmiest, most fake grin he could muster. I chuckled and shook my head. He gave me back the passport and took on a more serious expression. “Look, there’s no way you’re going to have backup there. Be careful.”

    “I am careful.”

“You’ve ended up in Vanguard Hospital how many times in the past year?”

    I frowned, but said nothing.

“Now I’m not joking when I say be careful,” Donny said. “I don’t want to lose another brother.”

The sting of the remark kept me from pointing out that Jeremy had died in the ruins of our own living room. But I got his point.

    “I’m coming back, okay?”

“You’d better. Or I’ll hunt you down and give you a piece of my mind.”

    “Even if I’m dead?”

“Especially then. And you know I can do it.”

“I’ll miss you too,” I said sarcastically.

    • Plisade

Is this where commenters can keep the story going?

      • UnCivilServant

        No. NO! NOOOOO!

It’s an excerpt from the middle of a book in progress. I was posting it because I found the banter amusing.

      • Plisade

        So, that’s a no?

  5. Tres Cool

Grab the wheel, foot to the floor, and HIT MY MOTHER F’IN THEME MUSIC!

    • Chafed

I’m missing the relation to large women and keto friendly beer.

      • Tres Cool

Sometimes I fall off the wagon. Ill eat pizza with crust, have some onion rings. And watch little women with small tits clearly with no bra play music.

        What are you? A cop?

      • UnCivilServant

Without a crust you just have a plate of melted cheese, toppings, and sauce.

Not that I would call it inedible, it just wouldn’t be pizza.

      • Tres Cool

Keeping with “low-carb” I do scrape the toppings off an eschew the crust. But Ive been known to falter and eat it properly.

(and its cut in squares, too- then I put ranch & hot sauce on it)

      • l0b0t

I loved it when wifey would scrape her pizza crusts to avoid the carbs. I got to slather those bare, slightly red triangles in butter and throw them in the toaster for a yummy treat.

  6. Sean

I shaved my balls for this? ?

    • Tres Cool

“If I knew it was that kind of party Id stuck my dick in the mashed potatoes!”

    • Aloysious

Real men use a straight razor.

      • Aloysious

Welp, that disqualifies me. I’m full of wisdom, not scents.

      • Bobarian LMD

There is a shortage of pennies, right now.

  7. Drake

Just saw some of the George Floyd body cam videos. No way will those cops be convicted of anything close to murder.

They should stuck with Breonna Taylor as a martyr. Maybe we’d get to the body can video of her shooting.

    • Plisade

What have you seen that’s exculpatory? I haven’t been able to watch them.

      • Drake

He’s way way high and acting crazy. He’s also complaining that he’s having trouble breathing while standing up talking to cops.

      • Sean

Look, we all knew it was bullshit to start with by the way they ran with it.

Defund the mainstream media. Cancel CNN.

      • R C Dean

Based on the first video and info, it looked really bad to me. This makes it look a lot less bad.

A reminder to be very cautious about early reports. There’s always more, and early reports could be early because they are being used to push a narrative.

I’m still not there should be no consequences for the cops, even if they were waiting for an ambulance.

      • UnCivilServant

Officer Knee-on-Neck is still a shoo-in for manslaughter or 3rd degree by the law in that state.

      • Digby and the Wonder Llama

I agree. Although, I can see it being something like a depraved indifference-type charge (if M3 is above that).

      • Plisade

Gotcha. Yeah if he was already saying he couldn’t breathe…

      • Drake

Maybe a symptom of the possibly fatal amount of fentanyl in his system.

      • Rebel Scum

Haven’t watched that yet. Listening to Tim Pool, he says Floyd kicked his way out of the cop car, hence being held like he was. Doesn’t mean it is ok to cut off his breathing but it does not appear to be murder. I called it early that it seemed like manslaughter at most.

      • Hyperion

“He’s also complaining that he’s having trouble breathing while standing up talking to cops.”

So, they thought putting a knee on his neck would help that? The heroes were just trying to help!

      • Drake

I’m not defending the cops, just saying they’ll never convict on a murder charge.

      • Hyperion

Yeah, I know. And I agree with you, and that’s the plan, they want more riots timed strategically. And like I said, the dems and their media are the worst bumblers ever creating martyrs. I’m sure they could have found plenty victims of cops who didn’t have a mile long history of violent felonies.

      • Gustave Lytton

        *Cough*Justine Damond*cough*

Oh right, it’s not about excessive force.

      • pistoffnick

I got to where they start to drag him out of the car with a gun in his face. I can’t watch the rest.

I’d just like to say that even if he was high, I don’t think he should have died at the hands of the police.

There ain’t no bad situation that a cop can’t make worse.

      • SUPREME OVERLORD trshmnstr

I don’t know what to think, to be honest. Its clear that the media sold us a line based on selectively edited videos. Beyond that, it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly is happening. I tend to agree that this doesn’t bode well for the murder/manslaughter prosecution.

      • Semi-Spartan Dad

I was just about to comment something similar. I don’t know what to make of the video or if it changes anything. Being high, freaking out, or resisting arrest doesn’t give an officer carte blanche to execute someone.

I think it still comes down to the cause of death:

        Fentanyl overdose? Not guilty.
        Asphyxiation? Murder.

      • SUPREME OVERLORD trshmnstr

probably manslaughter instead of murder (I don’t know MN criminal law well enough to be sure) , but I agree

      • UnCivilServant

I took the analysis of Mr Rekieta, since that is his state of practice. He seems to think 3rd Degree murder is still viable, but not the 2nd they have charged.

      • Semi-Spartan Dad

Oh, I have no guess about what they’ll charge or convict. Just my own thoughts.

It doesn’t help either that there were dueling causes of death based on who paid for the autopsy reports (I think that was the case here).

      • Drake

If I remember correctly, he died of a heart attack.

Ironic since at one point in the video he’s wildly freaking out, the cops tell him he ought to calm down or he’ll give himself a heart attack, and he agrees.

      • Rebel Scum

Its clear that the media sold us a line based on selectively edited videos.

Which is the real problem as far as public perception. These fuckers do agenda instead of nuance and look at the results.

    • juris imprudent

Maybe we’d get to the body can video of her shooting.

Apparently does not exist, but then again, can you really believe the cops about that?

      • R C Dean

I believe it doesn’t exist any more.

      • Bobarian LMD

If it supported their version, it probably would have been found to exist.

    • Hyperion

Well, the plan is for them to overcharge and then have the trial and the acquittal right before the election so that no one can get to the polls in most cities. Paper ballots is the only way! We’ll send the rioters around to collect those.

      • Drake

Do they have trials that fast? That Maxwell woman is in solitary confinement for a year before she gets a trial.

      • Hyperion

        They will this time.

      • Drake

        That plan could backfire wildly.

      • Hyperion

At this point, does anyone think these far left radicals are smart? They seem about as dumb as you can get to me. If it weren’t for the last few decades of public schools churning out idiots like a stupid mass production factory, they’d all be ran out of polite society.

    • wchipperdove

Cruz is pretty good at needling the idiots.

      • Gustave Lytton

Yeah. Antifa fighting against the Japanese. Because they were fascists apparently.

    • Digby and the Wonder Llama

      She is an unmitigated cunte.

  8. Dr. Fronkensteen

    A port? Like Beirut port?

    • Spudalicious

Who knows how long it will last. Seems a little volatile.

      • Incentives Matter

        Hmmm. Too soon.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

        never too soon,

    • Not Adahn

      for pay.

      • UnCivilServant

        For a piddling pittance.

I mean, it’s not even real money.

      • Sean

        Piddling? That costs extra.

        /obtuse

      • Spudalicious

Noticed, what was done there was.

      • UnCivilServant

I don’t want to see that.

      • Rhywun

        Okay!

      • wchipperdove

        Welcome back.

      • Rhywun

        Yay!

    • Sean

I don’t count that as an orgy. #fakenews

      • Not Adahn

Yeah, to be an orgy there have to be enough people that all of them can’t be involved with each other simultaneously.

        Creosote Achilles can confirm.

      • Chafed

Haven’t seen much of CA recently. I hope he is still coming around.

      • Digby and the Wonder Llama

        He’s on the Discord regularly.

      • Chafed

What has Discord got that I ain’t got?

      • Digby and the Wonder Llama

Notification of instant feedback. Which, for you…..well, you my bruh, but, that gets gross pretty quck.

    • Digby and the Wonder Llama

She’s 24. Afterwards she asked me if I am 100 per cent straight.

      I told her I wasn’t.

        So what % are you?

      • Digby and the Wonder Llama

Too much to have that asked Bend over, and let’s find out.

  9. Gustave Lytton

What are the rest of Glibs using for mesh WiFi these days?

    • UnCivilServant

      I’m not.

      Wired connectivity 4 life.

      • Gustave Lytton

*pictures UCS with tethered tablet and smartphone, like how phones were thirty years ago*

      • Rhywun

I was picturing a soup can and a string feeding into the wall.

      • Tres Cool

Im with you. My desktop, other desktop, and PS4 all have ethernet. My phone is connected, but the only thing I use it for is streaming SiriusXM to a bluetooth speaker.
        Jugsy on the other hand……..

    • SUPREME OVERLORD trshmnstr

I just got a pair of Aruba AP12s this week. Setup was easy. I’m happy with the bandwidth off of the purely wireless one, because the work computer is 3 brick walls away from the modem, and the previous router was having trouble getting to me in the office.

      • Gustave Lytton

        Thanks, appreciate it.

Anyone else? For a multi floor home of apparent hipsters (my sis and her family/renters) that are all wireless all the time and single AP isn’t cutting any more. Not going to buyrent Meraki for the setup.

      • westernsloper

Holy shit, that is a bit personal.

      • Gustave Lytton

Essentially range issue, from what I’m getting. Three floor old house says poor propagation to me. Probably poor placement of the single AP (cm built in).

      • Digby and the Wonder Llama

GL–Been using Eero for about 2-3 years now. No problems, other than needing an ethernet multiport if you want to go wired on more than two devices not right next to the home unit (heh).

    • Sean

      “mesh WiFi”

      Hipsters…

    • The Hyperbole

I’d tell you but first you’ll have to explain what a Mesh Wifi is.

    • grrizzly

I’ve been using power adapters like this one for years.

    • J. Frank Parnell

I picked up a Netgear Nighthawk system from Costco a few weeks ago and it’s been working pretty well so far. Router upstairs in the closet with the modem, one unit downstairs in the front room, and one in the garage. Only real problem was that the router only has one LAN port, so I had to pick up a small switch as well to feed the wired ports scattered around the house.

It replaced a Linksys router with a range extender, which was just not enough to get decent wifi out to the garage.

  10. Not Adahn

    Lol. hate birds

    • Grosspatzer

LOL, swan takes the Hate Bird title in a first round KO.

    • westernsloper

Was that ironically linked? Or even made? Didn’t squarespace just #hatebird delete some doctors or some such who are not towing the official covid lion?

      • Not Adahn

        ?

AFAIK, Squarespace is just some web template company.

I haven’t been keeping up with the various woketarian malefactors.

      • westernsloper

Who knows, I am not a big follower in the cancel wars. I just hear/read shit I probably partially remember. My understanding from what I heard was they were a hosting service. Could be wrong. Maybe they cancelled something created on their template? It would hardly be the first time I was wrong.

  11. R C Dean

SP – not sure if you noticed, I’ve got a post ready to roll next time you have a post, err, hole.

Apologies if you already confirmed and I missed it.

    • SP

It is scheduled for this Friday midday. I just haven’t had time to check the formatting yet, so I left it in Pending so I wouldn’t forget to look it over before it goes up.

      • Don did not Escape Spring Training

Is there any way to look at a post to confirm spacing before releasing it?

I save a post, then go to the link that it’s saved at, but that location presents it with a big right-hand side-bar.

Perfect spacing isn’t critical, but I need to show off how special I am.

      • UnCivilServant

Did you switch off the side bar? I get previews without the sidebar when I remember to switch it off.

      • Don did not Escape Spring Training

The switch is in plain sight if you know my luck

      • UnCivilServant

On the edit post page, on the right hand side, there’s a drop-down for the sidebar location. one of the options is “No Sidebar”.

      • westernsloper

We all know you are special Don.

      • R C Dean

        Thanks, SP.

*ponders topic for next post, gets nothing, mixes a Polar Vortex*

    • Spudalicious

Do you have the digger you used for your post hole? If so, then you have a phd(post hole digger).

    • Sean

This is why the metric system sucks.

      • Not Adahn

FYI, I think my current plan is to visit your range after Factory Gun Nationals.

I’ll be bringing my two match guns and whatever ammo is left of the case I’m driving down with.

      • Sean

You’re very welcome to visit and you’ll want for nothing.

  12. Not Adahn

Target Sports apparently have their own brand of ammo. A case showed up on my doorstep this evening, I’ll put a couple of boxes downrange tomorrow.

    • Gustave Lytton

If it’s the 9mm, I think I saw where someone sussed out who their contract manufacturer is. Either in the reviews or some other forums like reddit or ar15. I was interested when it appeared.

      • Not Adahn

I hope it’s not loaded with whatever powder CCI uses in their Blazer line, that shit is foul.

    He’s in Lebanon?

Watching something they’re calling “playoff” hockey. I don’t recall from last year whether it normally has five times as many commercials as a regular hockey game. Holy crap it’s obnoxious.

    • Chipping Pioneer

The only reason they’re doing this bullshit is to meet contractual obligations to sponsors.

      You A Rangers fan?

      • Rhywun

        Yes. /grumble

        Holy crap they suck.

Took a nap at 1:1 tonight. LOL, I just looked at the final score.

Hummus is the gayest of condiments.

    • Tres Cool

      Hummus isnt a condiment, sugar-tits.

      • commodious spittoon

I dip vegetables in it… I wouldn’t eat it with a spoon… it goes on sandwiches. Of course it’s a condiment.

      • UnCivilServant

You are incorrect about those applications.

Hummus weighs down the plate to keep it from flying away. It’s ballast.

      • Hyperion

It’s a chip dip. Let the first round of the hummus wars 2020 begin! Anyone seen Hugh?

      • commodious spittoon

I was lying, anyway. I’d totally eat Ranch with a spoon.

      • Hyperion

The new hummus wars 2020 edition?

      • Brochettaward

We know where Hyperion stands on hummus.

      • Bobarian LMD

It’s a dessert topping and a floor polish?

      • l0b0t

Hummus, just like peanut butter, is a spread. One may employ this spread as a dip or as condiment, but it remains a spread.

      • Hyperion

        It’s A DIP!

      • l0b0t

If you want to hate on humanity, go through the edit history of the Wiki articles about hummus or pita. Constant back and forth assholery between Jews and Arabs over the provenance of regional foodstuffs.

      • Hyperion

Remember that pimento spread stuff? I don’t remember seeing it in a long time, but now I want some of it, that’s weird…

      • commodious spittoon

Pimento spread on celery was a Thanksgiving fixture. I don’t know if mom got it from her cheap-ass parents or it was her own cheap-ass invention, but we always had it as a Thanksgiving hors d’oeuvre.

      • wchipperdove

That bright orange stuff in the little plastic container. Bleah. My family eats that. Smells vomitous.

      • Hyperion

My grandmother always seemed to have some of it in the fridge. So when I’d go over there as a teen and raid her fridge and pantry, I’d often have some of that.

      • westernsloper

What’s her face number 2’s mother made homemade pimento spread every year/holiday season. The stuff was artery clogging awesomeness.

      • commodious spittoon

I like it on account of growing up with it, but it’s something of which I’ve had a few tablespoons at a time every year for thirty years. I’ve never even thought about buying it for myself, and in fact I don’t know where in the store you’d look for it. But it reminds me of Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving reminds me of November, and November reminds me of Pimento paste.

There was a similar paste with pineapple, but I never liked it as much.

      • Chipping Pioneer

I made some yesterday! Stuffed some jalapenos from the garden with it. Baked at 375 for 20 minutes. Tasty stuff.

      • Not Adahn

Nah, mashed chickpeas are no more hummus than a glass of gin is a martini.

      • UnCivilServant

It’s not that complicated to get from the can to the ballast.

      • Not Adahn

      • Not Adahn

Don’t know yet about that club. I’ll have an idea after the practice on Sunday.

Of the SSRG members that showed up at the KF&G shoot, Tim was masked the whole time, Maisey and Jack were masked never.

      • Hyperion

I’m not sure how they think he can get elected by refusing to debate, and he already committed to 3 debates. Can anyone see him doing an hour and a half debate? He’s already refused interviews with Fox and NYT. Not looking good.

      • R C Dean

No debates. You can book it.

It will be pitched as “Trump Refuses Totes Reasonable Debate Set-Up”.

      • Don did not Escape Spring Training

        committed

Outrageous! JRB is a moron; his handlers aren’t. They probably know that the list of things you can commit to is short:
        * releasing your tax returns
        * repealing ACA
        * saving coal
        * making Mexico pay for a wall
        * committing to taking no time off

        Only promise the easy stuff!

      • Gustave Lytton

Have faith. Look at what modern mortuary science did with John Lewis.

    • creech

Yeah, it is fun to laugh at Dementia Joe. But I have this nagging feeling that Trump and the GOP better start running like he’s 10 points behind and assume that Joe will not do anything crazy to turn off independent voters. If Joe does, fine. If Joe doesn’t, then this election could actually come down to dishonest ballot counting in the blue cities of swing states.

      • Chafed

I have the same feeling. I don’t Ike Doony two scoops but Biden would be a disaster.

      • Plinker762

Imagine a president that actually understood the constitution. I guess one can dream.

Yeah. Still the second loudest experience of my life was a B1-B taking off with full afterburners at a show in Wichita.

        And then it went vertical.

      • Ownbestenemy

B1s are absolutely loud as all heck.

F4s though…designed to not be quiet and were beasts.

KC-135A taking off with water injection. Rattled all the windows in our office in the weapons storage area.

      • Bobarian LMD

I saw a SR71 at March AFB when I were a young ‘un.

You couldn’t get within 500 yards of it, but it was like watching the space shuttle take off.

Watching a B2 do a low level fly-over when I was at Ft Irwin, with F4? escorts was really something. The escorts looked like swallows harrying a vulture,

And most impressive? Watching A10s do gun runs when I worked set-up for the FT Bragg ROTC Capabilities Exercise in 1984.

      • Grumbletarian

I watched an F-117 fly over me when my dad was stationed at Langley. You literally could not hear it approach you. Only one it had passed did you hear it.

      • Not an Economist

A few decades ago, some coworkers and I were outside in overcast weather when an airplane taking off made it next to impossible to talk. What made it funny was all the car alarms the plane set off. This is back when there wasn’t many car alarms. They pretty much an after-market item at the time.

We later found out it was a B1.

      • Rebel Scum

It would be nice if we 1) did not go ridiculously over-budget and 2) only used our toys to defend our shores/airspace and shipping.

    • Not Adahn

I’m assuming that is what I read about in the James Herriot books when he talked about “boiled bacon.”

      • Rebel Scum

Bacon should be oven/grill roasted or skillet fried. This boiling seems all wrong to me.

      • UnCivilServant

I can only assume they were accustomed to boiling the salt out of salt pork, and didn’t know they were doing it wrong.

      • Not Adahn

JH couldn’t eat it, and he’s pre-WWI English.

Having said that… the thing about pork belly is converting whatever the fuck that mixture of connective tissue is we usually call “fat” into that delicious collagen/gelatin that is either crumbly (if fried) or gloriously melty (if braised).

I don’t know if that’s possible by boiling, but if it is, there’s potential.

      • wchipperdove

I ate at a Waffle House for lunch. Sadly, the bacon was the thickness of a business card.

      • Digby and the Wonder Llama

You always go sausage at WH. It is known.

      • Bobarian LMD

I’m gonna say that the 5 hours that the recipe called for would made the fat more melty/buttery and improved it even more.

      • R C Dean

It’s effective for getting the “surplus” fat off. I’ve done similar with pepperoni. But ya gotTa brown it ferchrissakes.

I should remember that a “side of leather” means “the side of a cow’s worth of leather” because I was surprised how big the roll of oil-tanned leather was when it arrived.

I’m going to try my hand at making a plague doctor mask, because the commercial one was too glossy. I should have ample material, I might even try for a hat… if I get ambitious.

Where did you buy the leather? If they have some that’s not too thick, I’d like to get a little bit for the next time I knit gloves so I can sew leather patches on the palms and fingers. I like my gloves, but they’re not great for driving – wool isn’t grippy enough.

      • UnCivilServant

Tandy Leather for this one. I’ve also bought from Pergamena.

If you only need a little, get a scrap pack from either. It’s cheaper and the pieces are more managable.

      • Gender Traitor

Tandy Leather is still around? That’s great to hear. There was actually a Tandy Leather/American Handicrafts bricks & mortar store close by when I was a kid. Spent a lot of time (and probably such money as I had) there and looked through their catalogs all the time.

      • UnCivilServant

Well, someone is still selling leather and supplies under that name.

I even visited a brick and mortar location in dallas when I was there. Got the suede to line this toolbox from that location.

      • UnCivilServant

Note – that was my first attempt at leather lining ever, and my second attempt at wood staining.

    **HEAVY SIGH**

So, a huge series of T-storm cells rolled through the west end of Edmonton last night, pounding the bejeezus out of us and soaking the ground with prodigious amounts of water. Today we found some of it in our basement. Our freshly re-carpeted basement after the toilet flood we experienced last August (which was only completely re-mediated this February).

Honest to God, water follows the spousal unit and I around and f*cks up every house we’ve owned.

    • Gender Traitor

My sympathies. Water seeps into the “uphill” side of our basement after heavy, sustained rain – especially in early spring before the ground is thawed, Our street slopes downhill, and the lots are terraced. Water tends to collect at the bottom of the terrace slope and seeps all the way under our two-car garage and into the basement from behind some nice built-in closets. A French drain at the bottom of that slope helped a lot, but hasn’t eliminated the problem entirely. A couple of times a year we have to fire up the Shop Vac and put down lots of towels along the bottom of those closets.

      • Tres Cool

I knew a woman at UD we called the “French Drain”.

      • Gustave Lytton

I used to believe our future was that of Harrison Bergeron, where the drive for equality gives the Handicapper General the ability to weigh down and subvert any individual standout.

Now I see that equality is not the goal of today’s social justice types. They want to dismantle and erase all of Western civilization, then put themselves in charge of divvying up the wealth. They don’t know that wealth can be created by individuals whom the market rewards.

    • Digby and the Wonder Llama

They are zero-sum elitists because they personally don’t know how wealth is created. They see it as something which accumulates to those with power – and that power is their goal above all. Anything that might stand between them and power is something disposable. “Equality” or “justice” or “safety” are merely bait to be used in controlling the masses.

    • Rhywun

I think you had it right the first time because if you take Harrison Bergeron at face value the end result is exactly what you described with the incompetent amassing all the power. The nonsense about “equality” is just a fig leaf.

  32. TARDIS

River front property is so cool. Very relaxing.

    • Gender Traitor

Has the property always been riverfront, or is this a new feature courtesy of Isaias?

      • TARDIS

Looks like a temporary improvement, unless they don’t fix their drainage. A 4 year grift to study flooding?

        I Brooks’d the post BTW.

      • Gender Traitor

Gotcha. I thought maybe you were on vacation.

      • TARDIS

Nope. Staycation is over. Back to the mines for me. All of the isolation, and now the aggravation too.

And I have to post from my stupid phone.

I’m at that age. I know there are things that I am not going to live long enough to see change. Then there are things that need to change in the next year or so or I won’t live long enough for it to have mattered that they changed. Also, the number and sort of things that are worth going to prison for or dying over are increasing steadily.

      • Gender Traitor

things that need to change in the next year or so or I won’t live long enough for it to have mattered that they changed

        Please elaborate?

Nice plan! Howsabout starting a sour dough or canning some jam?

  33. UnCivilServant

    Good morning glibs.

All my stuff appears to be where I left it, so I doubt the storm washed the corruption away.

    • Gender Traitor

Good morning, UCS. So Isaias has been & gone with no ill effects on your home?

      • Gender Traitor

Glad to hear. I’ve only ever been through a “dry” hurricane, and that was bad enough.

      • UnCivilServant

My biggest problem seems to be that plastic crack loot boxes aren’t available in the US, so I’m pretty okay.

  34. Festus' Mustache

Mornin’ Glibs. I’m in a terrible rut. One that I’ve been digging for the last few years. Turns out that shutting down and not giving a shit might have consequences in the long term. Why the fuck won’t the world leave me alone? I do that courtesy for for the rest of the Universe. Stupid Reality!

    • Gender Traitor

Mornin’, Fes. Please just don’t leave us Glibs alone, K?

      • Festus' Mustache

No worries, there. It’s just other people’s problems intruding on my finely balanced scale. Should have known better. Did know better.

    • PieInTheSky

you need to pull your fair share of the collective wagon

      • Gender Traitor

        ::points accusing finger:: Collectivist!!

He can’t help himself. He still loves his Mom.

      • Festus' Mustache

I pay my taxes but refuse the interpersonal, emotional bills. I’m basically a Hermit with a Wife.

      • Festus' Mustache

Aside from you fine folk I am basically friendless. My own doing but sometimes it hurts. People at work love me for what I do, not for what I am. My family is about the same.

    • Festus' Mustache

Uh, because if they tried that here they would get shit-kicked… Not everywhere is fucking Portland or Vancouver.

    • TARDIS

      You spelled encouraging wrong.

      • Festus' Mustache

I think it’s spelled “Aiding and Abetting”. I remember being a little kid and terrorists setting off bombs and high-jacking jetliners. We’re not quite there, yet.

  35. Grosspatzer

Mornin’. Rumor has it my power should be restored by 11PM tomorrow. Might have to toss a good deal of food. On the bright side, not working so get to have the full glib experience for a few days. Paging STEVE SMITH…

    • Sean

      Sorry dude.

    • Festus' Mustache

So is frozen food Kosher? Honest question. What happens if it thaws and you need to cook on the Shabbot?

      • Rhywun

I saw shabbos elevators for the first time in the hospital a couple weeks ago. If I wasn’t puking my guts all day that Saturday I might have ridden one up and down for awhile just to watch it stop on every floor.
