Fuck Off Slaver!

I can’t imagine what it’s like outside of America, because I can barely handle it here. In the PRK, I would have told a few Karens off by now.

This whole thing here? This has me yelling at clouds. And if John Kelly has his hand in this, he let the swamp get to him.

Where’s my mother effin’ wood chipper?

Whoever agreed to let Turkey into NATO was a moron(((s))).

This seems pretty cool/hokey.

I give this to help fight against the triggering.

And a tune to go with your cocktail.

A Fort Worth woman who took nude photos of a 1-year-old and then shared them has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.

Hannah Nicole Edwards, 32, also must register as a sex offender, and once she gets out of prison she will be on supervised release for the rest of her life, according to federal court documents.

You don’t even get that for rape. Wtf? Since when are nude baby photos not a thing?

    • Rebel Scum

      Ohhhhhhh…

On Feb. 6, an undercover officer who was utilizing the Kik Messenger application was in a group described only as “Group A” when he was contacted by someone identified with a screen name of “Jessa H.”

During their conversation, “Jessa H” described graphic sexual abuse she said she committed against two children and shared a file of child pornography. One image depicted a 1-year-old boy who was not wearing any clothes.

      • Fourscore

Spud, you’re trying to trick me into looking at that nude teddy bear. Hah, can’t fool Ol’ Fourscore. Oops, I’ve said too much already.

For the first time, a scale model of the Flying-V, an experimental jetliner that seats passengers inside its wings, took flight during an uncrewed test.

Well, this tech is already used by the military, as far as it being a flying wing.

    • Spudalicious

Yeah, but now you can take a bird strike right to the face.

      • Sean

        LOL

      • pistoffnick

At a previous job, I got to run the chicken cannon. It was fun, until you realized that now you had to clean up pulverized chicken in the 90 degree Kansas sun.

It is amazing what damage a small bird will do.

    • Hyperion

      “model of the Flying-V”

The tech has also been used by Gibson in making guitars since the 1960s.

      • C. Anacreon

When i was a kid for some reason I often made a “hospital plane” with Legos, where on top of the wings were several floors of a hospital. Guess I wasn’t that crazy after all, just a bit ahead of my time.

I was home all week and grilled or smoked every day. I shot my meat budget in record time. Now I have a bunch of stuff to get in the freezer before it goes bad. The smoked sirloin carne asada tacos were an especially good effort if I do say so myself.

      • Sean

I haven’t been a fan of hotdogs for many, many years.

        I would eat that.

      • Hyperion

All of that processed meat stuff it not good for you. But it’s big on flavor.

I like to take hot dogs and put them on a bun with Castleberry’s chili sauce, minced white onions, mustard, and parmesan cheese.

One of my other junk food favs is white bread and bologna, American cheese, dill pickle chips, mustard, Louisiana hot sauce, and plain potato chips.

      • Aloysious

All of that makes me hungry.

Word. I’m just chilling at home, browsing the interwebs and sipping LightSky. It’s the best light beer, change my mind.

  11. The Late P Brooks

Honda transmission is back together. It selects all forward gears and reverse, on the bench anyway. I had to pull it back apart and redo the third/fourth selector, but it’s better, now. It’s an awful cute little gearbox. I suspect all those motorcycle boxes might have influenced the design.

Good practice for if I get ambitious enough to crack open the Porsche box(es).

  12. The Late P Brooks

Given the circumstances of America’s entry into WW1, can it reasonably be said that those who rushed to enlist (not draftees) were “suckers?”

    • Gustave Lytton

It’s also reasonable questions to ask who were the good guys and why didn’t we join on the German side (along with why didn’t we stay the fuck out, like Wilson promised in his campaign)?

      • DEG

        Yes.

      • Fatty Bolger

Apparently my Grandfather, who was an ambulance driver in France during the war, used to joke that we were fighting on the wrong side. He liked the German people much more than the French.

    • Fatty Bolger

It was a relatively small number who volunteered before there was a draft. They were originally going to use an all volunteer force, but enlistment was so low that they turned to the draft instead.

  15. J. Frank Parnell

Reporters from the Washington Post, the Associated Press, and Fox News have independently confirmed The Atlantic’s story.

So… they confirmed that someone (who won’t give their name) says that Trump said something?

    • J. Frank Parnell

And to answer my question: Yes, that’s apparently what they did.

But whatever happened, neither AP nor Fox obtained anything resembling “confirmation.” They just heard the same assertions that Goldberg heard, likely from the same circles if not the same people, and are now abusing the term “confirmation” to mean “unproven assertions” or “unverifiable claims” (indeed, Fox now says that “two sources who were on the trip in question with Trump refuted the main thesis of The Atlantic’s reporting”).

      • Rebel Scum

Of course, Trump is exactly like the cartoon villain they think he is and portray him in the film adaptation of the novel written by James Comey. It is known.

      • Gustave Lytton

two sources who were on the trip in question with Trump refuted the main thesis of The Atlantic’s reporting

Refuted the main thesis, but didn’t deny the actual events or statements. This is as bad as the original story in journalistic mush.

Helluva race in the Kentucky Derby. I was cackling a bit at the end, since Mrs. Shpip hates Bob Baffert with a passion usually reserved for traveling salesmen and progressives.

The usual suspects seem to disagree, of course.

    • Ted S.

It’s horse racing. They’re no better than NASCAR people, just the “proper” social class.

      • EvilSheldon

It is NASCAR. That’s not a criticism. The infield at Talledega and the paddocks at the Derby have *exactly* the same kind of energy.

    • Sean

      A different view.

  18. The Late P Brooks

    Right wing terror threat

The mayor of San Francisco on Friday called Trump a “terrorist” as she defended House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her controversial salon visit, saying it was time to “move on.”

“We have a terrorist, we have a dictator who is running this country and Nancy Pelosi is at the forefront fighting against this person everyday, you know, and I’m not trying to excuse what happened,” Mayor London Breed told ABC7 News.

“I’m just saying that to allow an issue like this to turn our city upside down when we got folks who are homeless, we’ve got people who can’t open their business, including these salons. I understand,” she said.

    Yeah, whatever. Take your meds.

It’s President Cartoon Villain’s fault San Francisco is infested with bums?

    • Gustave Lytton

we’ve got people who can’t open their business

It’s some act of god causing those businesses to stay closed, not my actions or the state’s.

    • Rebel Scum

Multiple Dems including Pelosi calling for uprisings, calling the GOP enemies of the state and calling Trump a dictator but the violence (rhetorical and otherwise) is Trump’s fault.

The SUV purposely ran into protestors. They attempted to stop the car to prevent vehicular homicide. SUV speeds up. Police come. SUV continues to speed & hits police car. Driver not arrested. 2 protestors arrested

    Not when it’s quiet.
Not in a church and not at a riot.

    Not by myself.
    Not with a hoard.
Not with a fist or a skateboard.

No need to prove what I’m all about.
Because if I do, I’ll fuck around and find out.

  20. DEG

    That picture looks familiar.

Donald Trump has said his former chief of staff, John Kelly, could have been one of the four anonymous sources used by The Atlantic in the publication’s report that the president made disparaging comments about military troops.

“It could have been a guy like a John Kelly,” Mr Trump said while calling the story a “hoax”.

A part of me wonders if Trump dropped some of these lines in an attempt to smoke out a leak. Nah, that’s a bit too clever.

During their conversation, “Jessa H” described graphic sexual abuse she said she committed against two children and shared a file of child pornography. One image depicted a 1-year-old boy who was not wearing any clothes.

If true, this person is quite the piece of shit.

No big deal because they are just misdemeanors just like in Portland.

      • Gustave Lytton

And 100% antifa that’s been a participant in the riots for a while?

In the public record, the man suspected of fatally shooting a right-wing activist in Portland last weekend said he supports the anti-fascist movement but is not a member of it.

Guess he forgot to send in his boxtops.

      • westernsloper

Publicly stating “I am 100% antifa” doesn’t count. A membership card was not found on his body.

      • Sean

Antifa isn’t real. It’s a Fox news hoax.

      • EvilSheldon

I remember saying, some years ago, “The way you become a member of Al Qaeda, is by stating publicly, ‘I am a supporter of Al Qaeda.'”

      • Chafed

        Good enough for me.

      • Rhywun

Now that the rioters are targeting urban elites, I wonder if some of those elites – say, the NPR readers – are going to start questioning NRP’s ridiculous spin.

      • westernsloper

        HA! Good one!

    • Rhywun

I haven’t set foot in my hometown in almost 30 years because this kind of shit is entirely predictable there. There is a peculiar mix of smugness and dysfunction there. Layer multiple generations of corrupt state government making it all worse on top and it’s no surprise that the modest urban “renaissance” of the last couple decades was nowhere to be found there.

  24. Shpip

I just realized that the horse that finished last in the Derby was named South Bend.

Probably just too scared to run all-out, knowing the inevitable end of the competition.

Someone should’ve whispered to him that he wasn’t going up against an SEC team today.

  25. Rebel Scum

    Don’t make us look bad.

“The IPC is an organized group in league with the activists, and it is usually their footage you see streamed online and recycled on the news: mostly innocent protestors being harassed and beaten by police,” Rommelmann writes Saturday.

“The IPC and other documentarians who are deemed sympathetic to the activists’ cause agree on certain principles. You do not show activists’ faces. You only show activists in a defensive position: responding to, rather than inciting, violence. You enhance what can appear to be police brutality, e.g., activists defending themselves with homemade shields, often bearing the anarchist circle-A, against police,” she continues. “The shields are largely ineffective for personal defense, but extremely effective for optics, and that’s precisely the point. If a member of the IPC is arrested, he or she will be protected.”

The list of approved reporters include the “man on the ground for the New York Times,” Rommelmann says, as well as a high profile social media reporter whose Tweets are largely considered an official timeline of Portland events, and many have connections directly to national outlets like the Washington Post.

“These protester-approved journalists are producing much of the news you see about the protests, with an assist from the national press. Kate Shepherd isn’t on the list, but she was previously a sympathetic reporter for local Portland media, and she is now filing such stories for The Washington Post, with headlines like ‘Portland police arrest a hate crime survivor and Wall of Moms organizer in crackdown,’” according to Rommelmann.

fascism is not just the worst of Republican policies

I have a comment for if she means republican, but I suspect she means Republican. Which policy? Since I am not ignorant I know that “fascism” is not a policy, it is a form of government who’s economics are socialist and social policy is strictly regimented and does not allow dissent. Does that remind anyone of how any particular modern group functions these days? Fuck off, you actual fascist cunte. And read a damned book. I’d recommend Mein Kampf or even just the Nazi party platform. You’d probably find many areas of agreement, again, you actual facist cunte.

These people have absolutely no clue wtf they are talking about.

But Musk has said he absolutely wants to do that as soon as it’s legal.

      • Sensei

You can pull 200A @ 12v from the DC to DC converter at 95% efficiency or so.

So a small room AC is feasible, but I’d rather do fridge and accessories.

I’ve been playing around with a small inverter. You have to be careful as the inrush into the inverter will trip the car’s solid state circuit breaker.

      • Sensei

So do I. Same model 3.

The high voltage pack powers a 12v dc to dc system for all the 12v loads.

Tapping the hv pack isn’t something I mess with and you’d need hardware that isn’t part of the car unlike the dc to dc system.

      • blackjack

Yes, but if I needed to power a central air unit, I’d be looking at the big battery.

      • Gustave Lytton

Batteries are great for bridging an outage or small loads, but for whole home A/C and keeping a significant part of the house load going, a standby generator is more economical.

      • blackjack

Certainly, unless you already have a massive battery pack sitting in your driveway.

When you label far-left people “white supremacist” because they committed some act of violence, then you’ll get this outcome.

The guy who shot up a country music concert …. well, we still can’t figure that out… but the dude had a Filipino wife, so he’s clearly a white supremacist. Plus, bump stock? Yeah, I rest my case.

did anyone read the criminal complaint against Reinoehl (Portland shooter).

The complaint seeking an arrest warrant was for murder 2 and illegal use of a weapon.

It took from the 29th to the 3rd to get it drafted, too.

compare and contrast with the recent Murder 1 charges in cases where we have at least a reasonable case to be made for self defense – and in those cases actual formal charges were filed within 24 hours – long before the investigation was complete. In Kenosha it was probably before the crime scene was even cleared.

I know… different offices, different prosecutors, different jurisdictions…

But we have a pretty stark contrast going here. I’m not sure how you get Murder 2 from a crowd chasing down a dude because he’s wearing a hat and then someone coming up and executing him with a double tap. Hard to make a self-defense case there, and hard to frame it as anything other than premeditated murder.

Not that it matters in the end. Dude is dead and case is over.

Don’t even get me started. There’s an interview with the guy who live streamed it. He’s a BLM guy. He points out the odd behavior of the cars at the intersection, which he identifies as riot supporters. Lotta people were expecting this hit before it happened. This is no lone gunman scenario. It’s almost like they needed one for their side after Kyle got a few of them. Reinohole or whatever was the dumb fuck they picked to pull it off. Patsy/not patsy. Look up Justin Dunlap’s podcast interview. It’s an hour and a half long, but it’s an eye opener.

      • cyto

        Which touches on my question….

In what world do the guys who yell “right here! We got another one right here!” and call people to participate in a group attack not get charged with murder as well?

I mean, let’s game this one out.

Suppose we are talking about gangs. A group of Crips starts yelling “we got one right here! ” calling more of their group to attack a red-bandanna-wearing guy. One dude walks up and shoots him. Twice.

You gonna file murder charges against all of them?

        Ok, another version…

Let’s suppose there’s a group of white guys in pickup trucks with rebel flags on the rear windows and front license plates. Lets say they surround a black dude walking through their neighborhood. Some of them honk their horns that play “dixie” and shout to others to come help, they have another one…. and one of them just shoots the dude.

You gonna file charges against the rest of them? Add on enhancers for a hate crime?

        Or how about this….

A couple of guys wearing MAGA hats attack a lone black gay guy in the dead of night on a city street… How much effort are we gonna spend making sure they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law?

(yeah, I threw that last one in just to stick my finger in their eye. It doesn’t exactly apply. Yet still….)

      • blackjack

        In what world.

        Portland

    • Plinker762

It took them a while to come up with a M2 that wasn’t completely laughable?

    • one true athena

I was a bit puzzled by that too, but it looks like, unlike most jurisdictions, Oregon does something weird with their murder laws – their Murder one is what we in Cali would call “First Degree with enhancements” while they use Murder 2d degree for “regular” murder. IOW, First Degree can only be used if the killing fits into certain categories (mostly to do with minors ). Any other killing is a degree of manslaughter.

But that Kenosha filing is bullshit, tbh. There couldn’t have been time for an investigation, first of all, so it reads as “the very eager DA over-charged to appease the mob quickly”.

    • Gustave Lytton

You get Murder in the second degree because the statutory language is different. That was my first reaction too, but rereading it, there’s no way the Portland shooter falls under murder in the 1st degree.

      Murder in the second degree

      https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/163.107

      Murder in the first degree

      https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/163.107

The delay in issuing an arrest warrant is appalling, as was the apparent inability to both catch him initially or bring him in for questioning. I have a sneaking suspicion that if it wasn’t for that blatant surveillance video, that wouldn’t have happened at.

      • cyto

The story that CNN was running with for the first 3 days was basically “nobody knows exactly what happened” and they did not report on the videos at all. They instead ran with a story that was 4/5 about far-right Trump supporters coming in to town to attack peaceful protesters. They gave detailed descriptions of “reports” they had of these events – which were the videos from the BLM folks we all saw. They spent much more verbiage describing each of those than they did on the actual shooting.

For that they had an “eyewitness” who said that he saw the dead guy “go after the shooter and spray him in the chest with bear mace”. But he says he doesn’t know who fired the shots. Literally, that was the story they ran with. “I saw him go after the shooter and spray him directly in the chest with bear mace, but I didn’t see who fired the shots”.

I don’t know for sure, but still don’t think they ever added the videos of the actual shooting to their reporting.

      • cyto

I think I know why the CNN reporting is so sketchy on this.

Nancy Rommelmann has been doing some really great reporting over at TOS from “on the ground in Portland”. She’s just reporting “this is what I see… this is what they are saying.” You know…. like reporters used to do?

She has an article about the Antifa “you can’t film” thing

        https://reason.com/2020/09/04/youre-not-allowed-to-film-the-fight-for-control-over-who-reports-from-portland/

It seems that Antifa/BLM maintain a list of approved reporters. They are “independent”, but contracted with big outlets like the NYT. BLM makes sure that nobody else can record, because they want to control the narrative. These are their trusted reporters who will reliably show the part of the confrontations where it looks like BLM is the victim. (even then, it is pretty evident that the BLM folks are the aggressors).

So CNN gets their stories from BLM sponsored reporting. That would explain why things look the way they do over at CNN and the NYT.

      • Gustave Lytton

Yeah, the journalist thing is garbage. On top of the vetted ones, there are more antifa/BLM leaning ones, who despite getting ragged on in sm, still carry water.

I haven’t talked about this yet, but Vice had an interview with the killer.

    https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/v7g8vb/man-linked-to-killing-at-a-portland-protest-says-he-acted-in-self-defense

In that interview, they don’t seem to ask him about things like “why were people shouting ‘we have another one'”.

The videos attached do not include much interview content. They do include lots of near-propaganda versions of BLM narratives.

They seem to discount his self-defense claim a bit – describing him as “all but admitting that he shot him”.

Their analysis is mostly stupid. I mean, really really stupid. They don’t buy Kenosha as a self defense claim, seeming to see that as a right-wing crazy talk take.

I dunno. If I had shooter guy on video, I’d ask about the shouting and what they were trying to accomplish. I’d ask about a lot of details. IF they did, it didn’t make the mix.

    • Plinker762

If the reporter was going to ask the kinds of questions, he wouldn’t have gotten the interview. Much like the BLM list of approved reporters.

    • Chafed

Vice used to be interesting. Somewhere along the line they took a sharp left turn. Since then they are utterly predictable.

      • Brochettaward

How the fuck do you go from having Gavin McInnes as one of your founders to a progressive rage?

I’m not even going to bother to read it. It obviously wasn’t self-defense. From the CCTV footage that shows him starting to follow the Trump supporter to the other angles, there’s nothing there. They are such predictable liars.

      • Gustave Lytton

Same way Fox News and Drudge are following the same path. Conquest’s law.

      • Brochettaward

I know someone brought up a rumor that Drudge has been sold off, but I don’t think I buy that one. At the very least CNN claims that Drudge himself fired back at Trump just earlier this year. It’s possible that it’s just sloppy reporting and that CNN was only in contact with a Drudge email account that really isn’t him anymore, but there just aint enough evidence to support the claim to me.

With Disney owning Fox now I just consider that shift a matter of time.

      • Chafed

I think Disney bought large parts of Fox but not the news division. There is a war within the Murdock family about how to cover nrws.

      • Chafed

Did McInnes stay long enough to get a big payday?

      • DrOtto

Disney is wisely allowing Fox to be more right leaning than the rest of media, but there’s definitely been a shift to those who’ve been paying attention.
