IFLA: The “Greetings from the Past” Edition of the Horoscope for the week of October 11

by | Oct 11, 2020 | Advice, IFLA | 111 comments

Obviously, until WP fixes their tachyonic chronoton interface, I have to write these before they get published.  However for this one and the next couple I’ll be on the road so I’m writing them considerably more prior to the publication date than usual.  This will be a great example to flex on all the SCIENCE! deniers by showing that astrology can predict events a month ahead of time just as well as a day or two beforehand.

There are no alignments this week.  That makes writing this up considerably easier.  I do need to warn you:  October 16 Mercury goes RETROGRADE again.  This is also when I’ll be shooting Nationals… motherfucker.  At least my competitors will be under the same skies.  Except only those who are shooting on the staff match will be the rest of the people will be shooting later… dammit.  Oh well, as long as I don’t shoot myself or anyone important, I guess I’ll be ok.  My strategy is going to be to hope that there are at least nine other class U shooters there and then beat them.

Even though there’s no alignments, there are always events taking place in the heavens.  Most of them are the same as last week (also typical) with the notable exception of the moon having moved into Leo.  This is actually a good sign for me, since coupled with the Sun being in Libra gives a buff to all DEX and AGI related skills/feats.  Fortunately Saturn is NOT in Scorpio, so I won’t be inhaling too much lead dust.

Libra:  The Chariot – Succour, providence, war, triumph, presumption, vengeance, trouble

Scorpio:  10 of Cups –   Contentment, repose of the entire heart, perfection of human love and friendship

Sagittarius:  7 of Cups reversed –  Desire, will, determination, project

Capricorn:  3 of Coins – Métier, trade, skilled labor, nobility, aristocracy, renown, glory

Aquarius:  The Emperor reversed –  Benevolence, compassion, credit, confusion to enemies, obstruction, immaturity

Pisces:  2 of Coins reversed – Enforced gaiety, simulated enjoyment, literal sense, handwriting, composition, letters of exchange

Aries:  9 of Swords –  Death, failure, miscarriage, delay, deception, disappointment, despair

Taurus:  Knight of Swords – Skill, bravery, capacity, defense, address, enmity, wrath, war, destruction, opposition, resistance, ruin

Gemini: Ace of Coins –  Perfect contentment, felicity, ecstasy, speedy intelligence, gold

Cancer:  Ace of Swords reversed – Triumph, the excessive degree in everything but with disastrous results; conception, childbirth, augmentation, multiplicity

Leo:  4 of Wands reversed – prosperity, increase, felicity, beauty, embellishment

Virgo:  4 of Coins reversed – Suspense, delay, opposition

“Coronavirus: WHO backflips on virus stance by condemning lockdowns

Lockdowns have been used to control the coronavirus around the world, plunging millions of lives into chaos. Now the WHO has changed its mind.

The World Health Organisation has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.

Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders yesterday, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.

He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.

“Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer,” he said.”

He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.

Future updates will likely now include the now-ubiquitous tag for anything said not aligning with the narrative: “he stated without evidence”. Funny how that tag is never added to anything Pelosi or Schumer says, no matter how over the top.

“Stanford University’s Professor Jay Bhattacharya has announced the launch of the Great Barrington Declaration which he described as a COVID-19 response which quarantines the vulnerable, allowing the broader economy to reopen.

The plan is backed by thousands of experts who are urging government’s around the world to adopt less damaging measures in response to the coronavirus moving forward.

“The resources to date have been spent around the world on essentially quarantining the healthy with huge human rights consequences and damage to economies,” Professor Bhattacharya said.

“Instead we’re arguing we should spend those resources to protect the vulnerable”.

Speaking about coronavirus fatalities, Professor Bhattacharya said “there’s a thousand-fold increase between the people who are oldest and the people who are youngest”.

“Children face virtually no risk from the virus; they face a higher risk from the flu”.

He also pointed out 650 of the 900 deaths in Australia have occurred in nursing home settings.

“If the resources had been spent on protecting the people in those nursing home setting you would have many, many fewer deaths and you could open up the rest of Australia.””

So I see the 9news security shooter was indeed a lefty Bernie Bro activist Antifa sympathizer if not an actual participant.(In spite of local Fox radio saying otherwise.) 9news in Denver is fucked.

    • Gustave Lytton

The deepdive doxxing to prove an act and bloody shirt waving are just as much bullshit when the right does it as the left. The blood wasn’t even dry before the knee jerk Tweeters were claiming it was a shooting by antifa. Let’s see some proof that he acted upon those sympathies first, assuming they have the right guy to begin with.

Until then, I’m going with what it appears to be: bear spray guy fresh off confrontation with antifa instigator and still flush with his adrenaline dump, goes toward 9News producer for some unknown reason, gets into scuffle with security guard, security guard acts to protect his company’s client and shoots bear spray guy.

      • westernsloper

I have seen no video of bear spray guy going after the producer. Have you? I did see the news guy, who was not identified until later was videoing with two phones. Have they released any of that video? News guy looked to be at least ten feet behind security dude.

And I don’t think we are talking apples to apples with the doxxing by the two sides here. Especially when media and the police are short on facts or put out out right false ones.

You might be right and it was a legit self defense of the client case but I have not seen anything suggesting that the shooter or his client were in eminent danger of bodily harm or death. You are right I am probably jumping to conclusions out of antifa hatred and shouldn’t comment on it until the 48 hour rule but you know me. Speculation is my hobby.

  24. juris imprudent

Since Count Potato was pushing the Louisville PD bullshit on Taylor, perhaps he would be so kind as to read Balko on it.

If you recall the story in Reason a few years back about the mailed packages interdicted by BLM LE on the basis of dog alerts, I was quite involved with that. We had 3 packages arrive to our camp courtesy of BLM LE – not a one of course with an illicit substance in it. I spoke with a neighbor who is LE about it and he was shocked as hell that there was no Postal Inspector involvement there (which there was not) as he said that is SOP for his department. So, I’m going to lean even more in the direction of Louisville narcotics division being as sloppy and/or corrupt as Houston’s.

    • Count Potato

“Since Count Potato was pushing the Louisville PD bullshit on Taylor”

      I did no such thing.

  25. dbleagle

With all the obvious mail in ballot shenanigans so far I am wondering about the Dem plans.

From the end of the dead link.
    https://twitter.com/AndreasShrugged/status/1315355701150199809

I am coming around to the belief that Dems attempts to do these efforts even in safe havens like DC and NY are pointing toward a deeper election strategy.

In battleground states, like PA, the attempt is to give the opportunity to steal the election outright through fraud. This forces the GOP to fight the Dem efforts in the courts. Straightforward.

But the attempts at mail in fraud in solidly Red locations like MT, or Blue locations like DC point towards a deeper strategy. The attempt is not to swing the locale, but to force the GOP to conduct legal system fights there as well. Nothing to do with spending money, it all about the impending election Supreme Court fights coming, and the inevitable next impeachment and/or XXVth Amendment House fight if Trump prevails.

The GOP has to fight in these other locations to try and defuse the “selective venue” argument before the SC. One deciding factor in Bush v. Gore was that Gore was not demanding a complete recount, just a recount in some areas. Roberts won’t be keen on ruling against Team Blue and closing down paaths for him to weasel on is important. In 2000 the Supremes may have said that their findings had no precedent beyond the case at hand, but everybody knows that was BS. B v G was cited multiple times in election cases since then.

If Trump prevails, especially if the SC rules that state election laws must be followed as the law states and not in a manner at the Whim of a Dem governor, then this is how Pelosi will spend her time going after Trump for four more years. If the Dems win back the majority in the Senate then Moobs will coordinate for an “unprecedented 2d impeachment of a President” where Trump will survive with all Dems and Romney voting to convict.

If the biden/HARRIS ticket wins, and with Moobs in power, Pelosi will pass her XXV Amendment Bill and Jill “Edith Wilson” Biden will sign it for Joe. Pelosi then will “with extreme sorrow and regret” start proceedings to remove Joe for Horizontal Harris. My cold, black heart will be laughing as the GOP members of the Congressional panel argue to keep Joe in while the Dems advance at him with knives behind their backs and Harris smirking in the background.

Buckle up Buckaroos! It’s about to get wacky.
