Saturday Morning Hangover Links

I won’t pretend that this was a normal week. But the hilarity seems to be slowly winding down, with the blowoff just 8 weeks or so away. Best take:

But just because there’s a circus doesn’t mean there aren’t birthdays. There are, including the original Captain Kangaroo; a woman with a very healthy glow; a guy who was picky right up to the end; a guy who always seemed to be a bit scattered; an exemplar of French windiness; the original televangelist, Billy Sunday without the antisemitism; a guy whom I wish modern pitchers would emulate; one of my favorite singer/songwriters who always gets negative reactions when I use her for Old Guy Music; and a child star whom we’ve seen naked.

On to news.

Starting with the essence of “no shit, Sherlock.”

The Times still loves pimping this vacuous grifter.

Oh noes, next there will be free speech near the polls!

Well, THIS is not going to last long.

But you’ll be seeing more of this, with US support.

I guess they’ve forgotten all about Pim Fortuyn.

Old Guy Music is what it is because it’s her birthday and I want it. What an amazingly agile voice, perfect timing, and incredibly creative chord patterns. It’s a much older Joni than when the original was done, the voice was a bit thicker, but it was all still there.

Oh noes, next there will be free speech near the polls! – guns are evil and their presence is anti democracy

  2. PieInTheSky

But you’ll be seeing more of this, with US support. – look if the jews don’t like it they should have built a temple on a spot that was going to become holy to muslims

    • Trials and Trippelations

It was a victimhood scheme the whole time, but were on to (((them)))

    • PieInTheSky

      Should not have built

    • Charlie Suet

I always thought it was a bit greedy of Muslims to claim Jerusalem as one of their holy places. They’ve got plenty of others. The pretence that Islam is somehow autochthonous is also pretty annoying.

    • rhywun

Joe will finally end the international embarrassment we’ve suffered the last four years by doing everything the UN tells it to do. Imagine the possibilities!

      • gbob

Plus all that stupid peace breaking out everywhere. Burning cities are fine and all, but we need big boom boom explosions on the news.

  3. PieInTheSky

The romanian press is displaying signs of TDS. Weird. But then again the romanian press often just repeates what they read in the foreign press

    • Raven Nation

Yeah, I get a little frustrated that my friends in Australia all accept one version of political events in the US without question.

Then I skim Australian news sites and understand why.

      • Atanarjuat

Same in England, it’s a barrage of anti-Trump coverage, but never for the right reasons. If you go there you get snide comments about him. But I follow a bunch of Brexit types on Twitter and they are much more redpilled. Defunding the BBC was passed around recently for example.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

What about Sky, both .uk and .au? Another Murdoch company, of course.

    • Ted S.

I assume they’re also breathlessly reporting the latest gulagization that they’re not subject to because a propagandist press is “essential”.

  4. PieInTheSky

I guess they’ve forgotten all about Pim Fortuyn. – i feel bad round here this thing is a non issue. No one cares.

10000 ish cases of chink flu 3 days in a row. They are closing farmers markets and banning travel between 23 00 and 5 00. I am strangely not panicked

      • Cy

I am at work, right now, in Texas, there’s a verbal confrontation going on a few pods over between management and a few workers. It’s getting pretty heated. They pushed out a new 5 page guideline last night for how everyone is allowed to interact at work. We had almost 1/3 of a division have to stay at home because they all got the Wuhan. Filling their positions (operations) has been a bit tough on scheduling.

      • Scruffy Nerfherder

        Texas – 29,000,000 people, 19,000 COVID deaths

        New York – 8,400,000 people, 33,000 deaths

        You do the math.

  6. The Late P Brooks

It’s groupthink, all the way down

There may be no figure more important in preparing Republicans and President Trump himself for a post-Trump period than media magnate Rupert Murdoch.

Among his properties, the top-rated Fox News Channel stands out, its role in shaping conservative thought and Republican party politics unrivaled, at least within media. Murdoch allied himself with Trump, despite holding the former reality show host in low esteem. And Fox has been one of Trump’s strongest sources of support. So how the channel presents Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s rising election fortunes matters. Deeply.

    ——-

Fox News’s journalists are, by and large, attempting to navigate a gentle landing for their audiences so that, should Biden defeat Trump, they will recognize the result. But the network’s stars are larding their shows with Trump advocates who make baseless but incendiary accusations to ensure that viewers never accept Biden as legitimate.

FOX just needs to tell the hillbillys to bow down and worship President Biden, so the healing subservience can commence.

Our intellectualist betters at NPR cannot grasp the concept of individualism. They certainly cannot accept the notion that individuals looks at what is before them and judge independently without having it “explained” to them.

    • Trials and Trippelations

I thought Fox was not the Faux News screeching that people claim on Twitter and FB but has a good bit of TDS and Never Trumping

    • Plinker762

We must all march Forward in lockstep to the great progressive paradise!

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

I cannot stand NPR. They’re condescending, patronizing, hypocritical, lying, morally smug assholes that pretend to be even-handed in their coverage.

Their most enraging schtick is constant bewilderment at how anyone could disagree with what they consider to be common knowledge while omitting key facts of the issue .

      • Gustave Lytton

I miss NPR when the most annoying aspect was Eleanor Beardsley’s frenchified pronunciations dropped into the middle of her speaking.

  7. Tres Cool

  8. The Late P Brooks

But others say the Murdochs need to do more to help viewers accept the verdict of the American public. CNN anchor Jake Tapper said, on air, “The Murdochs and the people at Fox have an obligation to put their country above their profits.” Murdoch’s liberal daughter-in-law Kathryn Murdoch tweeted that she agreed. She is married to Murdoch’s younger son James, who is no longer a top executive within the family media empire, though he retains a major stake.

Empty heads, waiting to be re-programmed.

OMWC thanks for the link to minimally compliant masks a few weeks ago. I bought one last night since our tyrannical gov got reelected.

    • hayeksplosives

I ordered a couple too, even at the inflated prices.

I was really hoping the COVID-19 hysteria would go away by now.

If we’re supposed to believe Obama!s victory was the moment the Earth began to heal and the oceans to recede, can’t we pretend that Uncle Joe magically made COVID-19 go away so we can get in with life?

      • Sean

Not in NJ, they’re talking about shutting stuff down again.

      • R C Dean

Same here, when the link was posted.

Still waiting for them to show up.

  10. Not Adahn

    Good morning!

And it is an absolutely beautiful morning…. even if I did show up at the range an hour early and there’s literally nothing to do but examine critter tracks from last night.

Can’t quite figure this one out… a skunk? Small/medium dog sized, pretty much the same gait, pointier and more splayed pads though. The sand is too coarse for me to tell if there are defined claws.

    • Sean

      Good mornin.

      • Not Adahn

Absolutely perfect day for shooting. Unfortunately on 40 people signed up. I guess they were expecting the weather to be more November-typical.

  11. Atanarjuat

TDS: a fb friend posted that she’s Jewish, and has had to endure 4 years of antisemitism, blah blah, I quit reading. Yet Biden will almost certainly not be as pro Israeli or pro Jew, as you point out in the links, and the most institutionalized antisemitism is from the governor of NY.

    • Sean

I thought that was more the Mayor of NYC.

      • Ted S.

        Both.

      • Atanarjuat

        Shit. I think you’re right.

    • PieInTheSky

That is strange i did not see much antisemitism lately in america. Then again i dont live there

      • Atanarjuat

I can’t think of a single anti-Semitic remark ever being uttered in front of me (I’ve heard the n-word countless times). But there is a group called the Black Hebrew Israelites that is sort of a gathering place for young men on the edge of mental illness, who dress in purple gowns and set up a speaker on the roadside to rant at cars. I’ve seen them say some awful stuff to actual Jews (on YouTube – I can’t understand what the hell they’re saying through the speaker in person, and am afraid to make eye contact).

      • Old Man With Candy

I’ve run into it semi-regularly, and it has been almost entirely a left and black thing. From rural whites, only in Europe, never in the US.

      • Trigger Hippie

        Heh, beat me to it.

      • Q Continuum

The anti-Semitism I get is typical white proggy stuff typically masquerading as opposition to Zionism. Subtle (and not so subtle) implications that the Jews are treating the Palis the same way the Nazis treated them, that Israel is not a legitimate nation and should be abolished (if not destroyed) and that “those crazy Orthos” are prejudiced, right-wing lunatics who need to abandon their stupid and pointless rituals and get with the real world.

      • Trigger Hippie

Few people in this nation give a shit if you’re Jewish or not. It’s just that the ones who do are very vocal about it. It’s a non-issue outside the blue urban enclaves.

    • Trials and Trippelations

The normalization/ treaties the Trump admin was getting done between Israel and its neighbors is one thing I am sad will likely end with Trump’s defeat

      • R C Dean

Yeah, the big players held back to see how the election turned out. Biden was a big fan of the Iran deal, and the Abraham Accords were mostly, I think, an anti-Iran coalition. F he takes office, I expect a shift to a pro-Iran and an “unintended” revival of Iran sponsored terrorism.

Restricting US oil and gas will also do wonders for Russia, Iran and other anti-American governments that depend on resource extraction for viability.

      • rhywun

Restricting US oil and gas will also do wonders for Russia, Iran and other anti-American governments that depend on resource extraction for viability.

Cuomo has been following this plan his entire reign. All the while claiming Trump is the one in the pocket of the Russians.

      • Plinker762

I’m sure the Palestinians will get a boost too.

      • Tejicano

“… “unintended” revival of Iran sponsored terrorism.”

The word I would use would be “disinterested” – even if they have done the due diligence to figure that terrorism is a probable outcome they DGAF and proceed anyway.

      • R C Dean

It’s a call out to the Iron Law.

And considering how many Dems hate Israel and Jews, I’m being charitable.

      • DEG

        Likely? I guarantee will end.

I’ll also be sad when they end. They were a big fucking deal. A good big fucking deal.

It will be interesting to see if Montana’s newly minted Republican governor will have the backbone to resist the plague panickers.

Of course Lame Duck McBullock will probably try to ram a bunch of bullshit restrictions through on his way out the door.

  16. Brawndo

I was hoping for a decisive victory for preferably Trump, but decisive for Biden would be better than a long court battle giving either one the presidency. When this is all said and done, you’re going to have a significant portion of the population doubting the legitimacy of this election and all future elections.

Maybe the strife from a court awarded Trump victory will be worth it if this country can finally get secure elections.

I’m not sure exactly how votes are counted and reported, especially since it sounds like every state has its own process, but I haven’t seen any definitive proof of fraud. What I have seen is some seriously suspicious behavior; kicking out poll watchers, poll workers writing on ballots (why are writing utensils even allowed there), boarding up the windows to counting rooms.

I’ve also seen a lot of numbers that just don’t make sense. Trump wins Florida and Ohio, the swingiest of swing states handily, but you’re telling me Georgia is going blue? Trump did better in pretty much every city than in 2016, except for the cities in the states where late ballots kept trickling in. Finally, the gap between Trump and down ticket R’s is tiny compared to the gap between Biden and down ticket D’s in the swing states. In non swing states, that gap is practically non existent. I’m not sure that the effects of mail in voting, and never Trump Republicans explain all these oddities.

        That got a legit lol.

    • Viking1865

The Dems are very fortunate the MAGA types aren’t violent. Because if they were, they wouldn’t be smugly standing on TV explaining the warm salty liquid is rain.

There’s simply no way that Joe Biden got more votes than Obama did in the deep inner cities of Philly Detroit Atlanta and Milwaukee.

I would have absolutely believed Trump lost a low turnout election. Pausing the count and bringing in ballots in the dead of night is fucking third world shit.

      • Q Continuum

See my comment below: at least Trump is not going quietly into the night; he’s definitely not saying the piss is rain. He’s going to lose, but he’s going to make a big ruckus and hopefully draw more attention to how corrupt this process is.

      • Animal

And he won’t just quietly retire when the election is certified. We’ll be seeing four years of Trump Unleashed, including his entry into the 2024 election.

      • Viking1865

Twitter has already said now that he’s not President anymore they’re going to ban him from Twitter. Next time he tweets “disinfo” or “misinfo” or whatever.

There will never be another Trump. They will not allow it. His weapon was going around the media, using Twitter and the rallies to cut through their fog. They let him do it last time because they thought he’d lose. Then he won, and they couldn’t get away with banning the POTUS.

The next time, they will censor the insurgent populist before he becomes powerful.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

        Gab it is, then.

      • Viking1865

Normies aren’t on Gab. One of the big things from Trump crossover appeal was he would tweet something common sense out, prog Twitter would retweet it going apeshit, and normies would be like

“That’s not crazy at all….what else are they lying about.”

Things like Trump tweeting BEST BLACK ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE EVER!!!!!! and prog Twitter retweeting it to say WELL ACKSHUALLY THIS IS BAD BECAUSE, that stuff percolates through Normie Twitter and plants seeds.

Without Trump’s Twitter account, the only people who know that it was historically great black economic performance are people who read rightwing blogs. Because the media will not cover that because it shakes their coalition.

That will never happen again. Never again will Twitter allow it. I am willing to bet that in the future, Twitter will announce a policy that only official government accounts are protected from being banned for misinformation.

      • CPRM

Normie Twitter? I’ve seen no evidence that exists.

      • Hyperion

The bad part is, is that through some type of executive order, Google, FB, and Twitter will be declared the arbiters of the web, because right now we have too much dangerous rhetoric going on, all caused by white supremacists and Nazis.

That will all stop once those 3 entities are given federally backed control of the web. They’ll not only go to full on censorship of their own platforms, they’ll get the authority to take down websites web wide, that they do not like.

Was nice chatting with you guys on here, that will be over soon.

    • EvilSheldon

The appearance of impropriety, is impropriety.

    • rhywun

decisive for Biden would be better than a long court battle giving either one the presidency

No way. A decisive win for Biden would just embolden the left, especially if they “somehow” pick up the Senate too. Squeaking by after court battles means they don’t have the “mandate” they’re probably going to claim they have, without evidence, anyway.

      • Count Potato

See below, Joe already claimed a “mandate”.

      • Hyperion

Oh, they have a mandate alright. They’ve always had one and always will. It’s about the narrative, we need communism now.

    • DEG

I haven’t seen any definitive proof of fraud.

Someone posted a video here a few days ago of Fleccas going on the Michigan elections website to look up whether or not the government had received and processed absentee ballots. Fleccas fed the names of dead people into the website and got back that the state had processed absentee ballots for those people in 2020. I did not check Fleccas’ work.

      • Sean

I tried 3 randoms from the big list of info. 3 registered dead people, and one voted.

  22. Q Continuum

Ultimately, I think Trump’s efforts will be futile; however I’m glad it’s him fighting it and not some noodle-spined RINO who would have already conceded. His greatest legacies are exposing just how corrupt the DNC, entertainment, education and the media are, why not throw the election system in there too? People voted for him to “shake things up” and he has delivered on that in spades. He respects no unwritten rules and he relishes a good fight. I hope he red pills millions more on his way out the door.

    • Viking1865

The Republicans will never win another national election if they swallow this. They’ll make a new Voting Rights Act that allows “21st century” ways of voting and insert so many pathways for fraud that they never lose again.

    Rural stranglehold

Representational fairness is even more dire in the US Senate, which gives disproportionate power to older, whiter, more rural and more conservative interests. Right now, states representing just 17% of the nation’s population could elect a majority of senators. By 2040, the 15 most populous states will be home to 67% of Americans yet represented by just 30% of the Senate. Add up the actual votes received in the winning election of every sitting US senator, and Republicans haven’t won a senate majority since the mid-1990s. Yet they’ve controlled the Senate for 10 of the last 20 years, and used that advantage to shape the ideological balance on the federal courts.

I take great comfort (and pride!) in the way we in Greater Flyoverlandia have completely oppressed California and New York, thwarting every single attempt they have made to bring forth justice and human dignity into the shithole which is America.

If my slaves are sufficiently productive today, I shall toss some scraps of watermelon onto the dirt for them to fight over. That always brings a smile to my face.

    • Viking1865

The rural stranglehold includes such arch conservatives as Romney, Collins and Murkowski.

      • hayeksplosives

Since the GOP managed to keep the Senate, the House is barely blue, and Biden is heir presumptive, I don’t see a lot of true legislation getting passed in the next 4 years.

But Biden has promised Green New Deal and other disastrous programs. Which means massive amounts of executive orders.

We’re back in Pen and Phone territory.

There has to be some way to curb those XOs, or we’re basically electing a 4 year dictator.

      • Scruffy Nerfherder

Pray they hold the Senate. The Dems haven’t given up on that yet and are obviously willing to cheat their way to victory.

      • Viking1865

“Since the GOP managed to keep the Senate”

That majority rests on the spines of Romney, Collins, and Murkowski to not “reach across the aisle” and “forge grand compromises for the sake of the nation”. Romney, out of vanity and ego would absolutely love to be feted in the media, as he will be, as The Greatest Living Republican if he provides the crucial vote on some big leftwing bill.

        “the House is barely blue”

This is the big question to me. One of, if not the single greatest weapons in the arsenal of the Left, is their control over so much slush money. The premise of our system is that Representatives want to stay Representatives and will vote to keep their seats. But with the Left in control of the academy and of the nonprofits, they have lots of cushy spots to stash people who do right for the cause. You can see that with the Obamacare vote. The Blue Dogs were elected over 2006 and 2008 swearing to be moderate, fiscally responsible, etc etc. They voted for Obamacare, and they got absolutely massacred. But since they had died taking the hill, the Left took care of them. They got fellowships, professorships, nonprofit directorships.

If Pelosi has a 4 vote majority, and the Green New Deal barely passes, yes the moderate suburban Democrats will get shellacked in 2022, but they’ll all be handed a cushy job, and then the Republicans will take over and perform their sacred role of preserving last year’s Democratic legislation.

“and Biden is heir presumptive, I don’t see a lot of true legislation getting passed in the next 4 years.”

I think they will pass everything they can exactly because they have such a slim majority. That’s what they did in Virginia. They just moved down the list of leftwing agenda items and passed every single one on party line votes, and there was nothing that could be done.

They win because they play to win. The Republicans lose, either on purpose or because they are that fucking stupid, I can never tell which.

In discussing current events with the gf I learn:

    1. Bad Orange Man won in 2016 with the help of Russia and Mueller proved this even though Mueller actually proved jack shit.
    2. That vote ballot counters in several swing states stopped counting long enough to expel opposition party monitors is in no way suspicious and didn’t happen even though it did happen.
    3. Inner city turnout for Biden (even more than 100%..) being far higher than for Barry or Herself is in no way questionable because Orange Man Bad. Likewise, Doddering Biden receiving millions more votes ballots across the country than either Barry or Herself is not questionable because Orange Man Bad.
    4. I’m a sore loser peddling conspiracy theories because my preferred candidate didn’t win even though there is ample evidence of shenanigans that are not limited to the presidential race.

Some people do not inhabit the same reality as me. And since I am open about my financial situation and I pay for everything she is going to learn the hard way when 1) the tax cuts sunset and 2) the Biden admin and his string-pullers get the tax hikes that they want (and probably crash the housing market, which is the industry relevant to my job…) that elections have consequences.

Yeah; I remember the media suggesting in 2016 that Trump electors should be faithless and vote for somebody other than Trump so that the election would be sent to the House (or vote for Hillary). The Democrats were sore losers for four years, and they think the Republicans started it?

“We don’t have a final declaration of victory yet,” he said, and argued the numbers tell “a clear and convincing story: We’re going to win this race.”

Biden touted his new-found leads in Georgia and Pennsylvania. He said he is winning Arizona, a first for a Democrat in 24 years. Similarly, he is the first Democrat to claim victory in Georgia in 28 years.

He said he is on his way to “over 300 Electoral College votes.”

Before saying he is going to be a president for all Americans, Biden bragged about “rebuilding the blue wall,” in Midwestern states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

He went on to claim a “mandate for action” and cited the coronavirus, the economy, climate change, and systemic racism.

Voters “made it clear: They want the country to come together, not continue to pull apart,” Biden said.

He said he is waiting for the final results, but, “We’re not waiting to get the work done and start the process.”

Perdue is the normal Senate cycle. Elected in 2014, its his first reelection bid. Perdue’s are a GA political family.

Isakson resigned in late 2019 due to health reasons. He was last elected in 2016. So I guess this runoff is only for a 2 year term with the seat to go back on in 2022.

Celebrities, activists and voters across Georgia credited Ms. Abrams with moving past her loss — she came within 55,000 votes of the governor’s mansion — and building a well-funded network of organizations that highlighted voter suppression in the state and inspired an estimated 800,000 residents to register to vote.

    Voter suppression? Color me skeptical.

But in a nation increasingly inured to weapons at rallies — most often carried by right-wing demonstrators, though also sometimes by left-wing protesters — experts warn that the guns create a dangerous situation that could be seen as intimidation or tip easily into violence.

“The more we see, the more people see it as a normal reaction — even though it’s not. There’s nothing normal about it,” said Cynthia Miller-Idriss, a professor at American University who studies extremism. “The potential for violence becomes normalized.”

Miller-Idriss can go fuck herself. Which side riots?

The U.S. economy added more than 600,000 jobs during the month of October, the Labor Department said Friday in its monthly report.

Honestly, right now I wouldn’t mind Trump refusing to step down and forcing all this out in the open. If not now, when? If they pitch a fit for two months, give these four big city machines time to scrap the paper trail, and then just slink off with a “Donate to Freedom Eagle Liberty PAC to make great ads to Own the Libs in 2024” then it’s over, and I don’t think I am being hyperbolic there frankly.

They have the strongholds locked down: the West Coast and Northeast. GOP can’t win there. They have NV thanks to the Reid machine in Clark County. VA is progged because fedgov. AZ is going the way of CO. The one chance the GOP had to form a POTUS coalition was to meld the Sunbelt with the Midwest. But if WI, MI, and PA are gonna run Mail In A Palooza every year with George Soros funded Secretaries of State overseeing the election, then there is no path for the Republicans to win the White House again.

Yeah it sucks that Biden cheated his way to victory (though after the Dems’ smoke test in Orange County, CA in 2018, this was exactly what I expected). Yeah it sucks that all future elections cannot be trusted. It’s been said many times however, Trump was a speedbump on the freeway to Leftism and whether now, or in 4 years, there was going to be this letdown. Let’s not fool ourselves that Trump getting reelected would have fundamentally altered the course of the Nation. The country is like a supertanker; it requires a lot of time and effort to change its direction and the Leftists have been working on it for 100 years. No way Trump was going to undo that in 4 (or 8) years.

      • Viking1865

Absolutely agreed, but you have to stop walking down before you can walk up.

There will be a Voting Rights Act of 2021, and it will have national mail in voting, maybe even have a tax credit for participation, nationwide early voting, every single thing they can think of to give them more avenues for fraud. That would be game over. You’ll have the public school teachers of the nation handing out mail in ballots to their seniors after three weeks of “Why Republicans are evil, racist, monsters who love war and polluting the water.”

This. What is the nonsense about Trump refusing to leave the White House? Biden, duly sworn in, sends the Secret Service to eject Don, Melania and Barron. Who really thinks that the Secret Service is going to resist commands from Biden? And Trump can engineer a military coup?

      • Tejicano

No shit. Once the next person is sworn in there isn’t one part of the US government who would support anybody claiming to be in charge.

A court would have to step in and block the inauguration or declare the election fraudulent in some specific times/places. Trump on his own can’t just say he’s not leaving and that blocks Biden from acting.

People believing this crap are total animists who believe that physically being in the white house imbues some magical powers which can’t be countermanded.

      • Viking1865

I mean, to be fair, I don’t think they’re worried about Trump commanding the government. Trump has never commanded the government, they’ve outright ignored him for four years when he’s given orders. He told them months ago to pull out of Afghanistan and they just flat out didn’t follow the order.

Trump, if he were so inclined, could absolutely summon a million armed men in red hats to DC. If he wants to to the mattresses, that’s how it would happen. I don’t know that I want him to do that, but honestly, I don’t see how this turns around working within the system, I really don’t.

They actually did it. They used their control of tech, media, and the key swing states election infrastructure to launch a soft coup. Barack Obama was genuinely popular. People voted for him. Yes, there was some fraud but theres always some fraud. He won both elections fair and square.

There is no fucking way that Joe Biden got more votes than Barack Obama did. That didn’t fucking happen. It’s absurd on its face. I would have 100% believed a low turnout election with Biden squeaking enough votes to pull out. But there’s no way Joe Biden got more votes than any President in American history. This is a guy who has run for President four times and never even been a serious contender in his own party. Now all of a sudden he’s popular enough to flip longtime GOP states?

So…..if not now, then when? There’s not going to be some AHA moment where they find big rooms in Philly, Detroit, and Milwaukee with Fraudulent Ballot Evidence Inside on them. There’s not gonna be some magic SCOTUS ruling that overturns all the shenanigans. There is no law, there is only power.

      • Q Continuum

“After several decades in power the PRI had become a symbol of corruption and electoral fraud[…]Critics claim electoral fraud, with voter suppression and violence, was used when the political machine did not work and elections were just a ritual to simulate the appearance of a democracy.”

        Sound familiar?

I think the implausibility of it all is part of the point. You will take what you’re given, and you will like it. That neither Biden nor Harris could accomplish anything on their own, and together make up even less than the sum of their parts, is precisely the point. This is the machine, it owns politics, some of you dared to stand against it, now you will get the shittiest of shit sandwiches and better yet you will be glad for it.

We are nowhere near 1984 than God, but when Orwell wrote of the inner party, this sort of people he was thinking of were the same sort as foisted this upon us.

      • kbolino

Wow, that second paragraph got mangled. What was meant: “We are nowhere near 1984 thank* God, but when Orwell wrote of the inner party, the* sort of people he was thinking of were the same sort as foisted this upon us.”

Keep an eye out for stuff like this. They will start prepping the battlespace with all kinds of new studies that start easing down the hysteria. The Danish mask study that has been supressed for months is gonna come out and show that masks don’t actually help, and by February the media and the feds will be following the Florida plan of “protect the most vulnerable, which is the elderly, everyone else needs to live their lives.”

    • Q Continuum

It’s all so obvious that I can’t help but laugh. And the sheep will lap up whatever pureed shit is put in front of them.

      • Viking1865

Yep, first we get weeks of “well actually maybe this pandemic isn’t as bad as it was before 11/3/20.” The death clock will be dropped from the Telescreen. They’ll switch over from “CASES ARE SPIKING!!!” to “Deaths are flattening and declining”

If Hillary Clinton was the President, COVID would have been “an unusually bad flu season” because the Left wouldn’t want to damage her sclerotic economy in an election year.

      • DEG

They’ll switch over from “CASES ARE SPIKING!!!” to “Deaths are flattening and declining”

The funny and sad thing is, at least at some news outlets, deaths flattening and declining has been right there in front of your face.

Example. WMUR has used the same style charts throughout the whole Lil Rona Panic. The current cases chart includes a line for deaths reported per day. It’s been there the whole time.

      • Viking1865

Yep but this is about propaganda. Remember, most people consume the TV news while scrolling through their phones, or while they’re cooking dinner or helping kids with the homework.

        Same chart, different voiceover.

“Cases continue to spike across the nation as President Trump plans five rallies across three states today.”

“Deaths declined for the fourth straight week since Election Day, and President Elect Biden expressed his confidence that they will fall even faster after the transition.”

      • Q Continuum

  48. The Late P Brooks

Honestly, right now I wouldn’t mind Trump refusing to step down and forcing all this out in the open. If not now, when?

He has to. Tell the people (and the Democrats and their media minions) he will continue to claim the rights and perform the duties of the office until the process has played out to the end.

Do not listen to the limp dick wing of the party who come around with a bunch of “for the good of the nation” handwringing.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

He might do just that, the danger lies behind the scenes if the Democratic movers and shakers come to him behind the scenes and promise some kind of nonprosecution/nonharassment deal for him and his family. I don’t know if he’d take it but it would have to be tempting.

      • Q Continuum

I’m not sure he would take it. He’s vain, rich and old school Outer Borough through and through. Such and offer would only piss him off more IMO.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

I saw an old, probably the early nineties, interview of him on YouTube and he said the secret to his success was he never ever gives up so you’re probably right. If there’s ever a time where tenacity is called for this is it.

Just to get ‘free healthcare’ will take 50-60% income tax rates and VAT taxes and our standard of living will be lowered to Euro levels. IOW, we will no longer have an American style middle class and upward mobility for almost everyone will disappear. Then on top of that we’re also getting free college, a green new deal, and crushing climate change taxes. Sure, dream on fuckwits.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

      • Viking1865

lol in 2040 The Republican Party will be pledging on the stump to “Protect Our Wonderful Federal College Guarantee” and striking a grand compromise where they trade a 5% VAT hike in exchange for President Ocasio Cortez’s EPA possibly considering maybe allowing the exploration of potentially allowing some more oil production.

I clicked on someone’s twatter link and there was an avalanche of tweets from people eager to just rationalize it all away as “old people hate Trump’s covid response! • Rebel Scum

I’ve never followed that line of reasoning (because it is illogical). The president, no matter who it is, is supposed to do what, exactly? Then I remember that these people have never read and/or do not understand the constitution and/or American government on the whole and treat the presidency as elected dictator*.

*Which is why they invest so much emotional/rhetorical/etc. energy into it. Leftists want a dictator, but it has to be their dictator.

      • Q Continuum

If that’s the case, and anyone actually gives a shit about legitimacy (AHAHAHAHAH), then the only possible way forward is to redo the election. Complete revote.

      • Viking1865

It’s not InfoWars to say quite simply that

“Joe Biden, a man who has been trying to be President for 30 years and never even gotten the support of 10% of his own Party, did not suddenly become the most popular politician in America.”

That simply does not happen, that 40+ year politicians suddenly become President after failing multiple times to do it. Reagan challenged Ford in 76 and almost beat him in the primary. Lost by 40 delegates to the sitting President. Then four years later won an enormous victory.

    • Rebel Scum

I heard that one was a matter of the ballot being sent and his son/grandson filled it out and returned it because he has the same name and thought it was for him.

Either way, it shows that randomly sending out ballots is wholly illegitimate and that there is a reason that absentee ballots must be requested.

      • R C Dean

As if that explanation really helps. A man who should never have been registered, a ballot that should never have been sent, was returned by someone who had no right to vote it.

One wonders what the son did with his own ballot, as well.

The calcification of the Internet ecosystem is inevitable to some extent, but I think they’ve overplayed their hand a little too soon and have made the system more brittle than they realize.
