    I need direction.

      East.

      • BakedPenguin

        East?

    • westernsloper

      I suggest South East.

        Exeunt.

        South bound

I was pleased to see your name pop back up in the comments but never goat around to saying welcome back. Welcome back!

      • MikeS

Thanks! It’s fun to pop back in from time to time. I’m gonna try and make one of the zoom meetings again. Still Friday nights?

      • Nephilium

Fridays and Saturday nights. I’ve been starting them at 20:00 Eastern.

If I’m the one that’s hosting (most nights) here’s the link set as a recurring meeting.

      • MikeS

        Excellent. Thanks Neph.

No worries, I drop the link in the Friday afternoon and Saturday evening links as well.

One of my favorites by Primus.

About 5 years ago at a show, Les stopped in the middle of the first song because there was a bunch of commotion in front of the stage. Some skinny kid was getting roughed up by security. Les had the kid brought up on stage, put a chair about 5 feet to his right, and pointed for the kid to sit down. Then the band jumped right back into the song where they left off. That kid had the best seat in the house for the rest of the show.

      • MikeS

That’s an awesome story. Good on Les.

      • Rebel Scum

Of course. They rig in Hidin’ Biden, then force him out in favor of Horizontal Harris because that bitch (like Biden, but he is old and compromised) will be anyone’s puppet for power.

      • DenverJ

So, Herself will, of course, be invited to the swearing in, first of Biden, then, a yr later, Harris. I expect her face will crack from the force required to keep her smiling.

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

I’m trying not to anger myself before bed. Not clicking.

“Swalwell Spoke At Same 2013 Event As Alleged Chinese Spy Who Worked For Dianne Feinstein

Rep. Eric Swalwell spoke at an event in 2013 along with a former staffer for Sen. Dianne Feinstein who is alleged to have spied for the Chinese government.

The group that hosted Swalwell and Russell Lowe, the Feinstein staffer, was led by Christine Fang, who herself is alleged to have worked as a Chinese secret agent from 2011 to 2015.

Fang developed close ties to Swalwell, Axios reported this week. She raised money for his political campaigns and planted an intern in his office.”

We could just nuke the fuck out of anyone who consorts with known spies.

    • LemonGrenade

We’ve spent the whole year partying like it’s 1984. I’m a little surprised the MSM has not yet unironically embraced ‘The Ministry of Truth’ as their official name.

      • westernsloper

The Ministry of Truth never went back on a line of propaganda. (That I remember) Today’s media is The Ministry of Truth at the Moment.

      • LemonGrenade

The truth was whatever it needed to be at the moment. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Just like we can smoothly switch between ‘Russians hacked the elections!” to “Election fraud is a myth.”

      • westernsloper

Ya, but they memory holed all evidence that they were not at war with Eastasia. Twitter is rife with evidence that can’t be memory holed. We have but one step to achieve true 1984.

      • LemonGrenade

And youtube is ON it. I expect the rest of big tech will not be far behind.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

He can be the first President to get impeached before he takes office..but then we’d have President Harris. Just leave the corrupt old fool in I guess. Also TMITE.

I am not good at talking, how about bitching? It is going to finally snow here. I am pissed. I hate plowing/shoveling snow. Especially such a minuscule amount that it just turns into a frozen mess.

    • Nephilium

      I hate that 32 degree rain/snow/freeze mix.

      • westernsloper

        Worse than Covid it is.

      • LemonGrenade

I’m more likely to slip and bust my ass on that mess than I am to suffer an injury from covid, so yeah… agreed.

      • Fourscore

I hate falling down on the ice, but when I do I quickly look around to make sure not one saw me (after I check for the pain spots).

      • LemonGrenade

The humiliation makes the pain worse.

      • Fourscore

Especially if some one runs over and offers to help.

      • Tres Cool

I have 3 ribs on my left side that agree with you, compliments of my neighbor’s thawed/then-frozen-over driveway.

    • BakedPenguin

Umm… western, maybe you might consider your locale? Failing that, maybe make fruit vodka slushies from ice slush and sell them.

Until they run you out of business for violating unconstitutional edicts.

      • westernsloper

Dude, If I had my druthers I would stop and have drinks with you because I lived close on one of the coasts, get drunk, accidentally break some of your shit and piss in your walkway shrubs, but at this point I am here for the foreseeable future. I have resigned myself to that and it is all good. I just like to bitch because I am a malcontent.

      • blackjack

Bitching about fucked up shit is it’s own reward.

      • BakedPenguin

I would stop and have drinks with you … get drunk, accidentally break some of your shit and piss in your walkway shrubs

So you’d act like my other friends? Especially the malcontent part.

To be fair, I lived in NH for a year in the 10’s, so I do have some idea what it’s like in real winter and not just Florida winter. “Oh shit! It’s going to be below 40 tonight!” (Runs around, head explodes)

      • DEG

I remember one winter a friend of mine in Ohio calling me about the weather. He had heard on the news that the temps would be 40 below. He wondered if the news were hyperbolic or real.

I told him, “The forecast low is -6 F. With the wind chill it is supposed to be -40 F.”

        He said, “Oh”.

      • Nephilium

        I-O!

He was probably one of them southern Ohio pansies.

      • Tres Cool

You guys up there melt when the temperature gets above 80º F.

      • DEG

He lives outside Cincinnati. He grew up near Greensburg, PA.

      • DEG

Oops.. At the time of the phone call, he was living outside Dayton. He currently lives near Cincinnati.

      • Nephilium

        Tres:

We routinely break 90 here in the summers, even touching the triple digits a couple of years. Those are the times people risk swimming in Lake Erie or the Cuyahoga.

    • rhywun

It snowed in NYC yesterday morning. It was gone an hour later, but that’s already more snow than we got last year.

  4. KOVIDKristen

Someone nearby is cooking something delicious-smelling. Like kabobs. I think I may have dinner after all.

    • LemonGrenade

Ambiguous statement. Are you planning a home invasion and snatch and grab when your neighbor takes it off the grill?

      • KOVIDKristen

If I knew where the smell was coming from…

      • LemonGrenade

Wasn’t me! We had fish for dinner (it was delicious though).

    • Tulip

My neighbor gave me French onion soup. It’s awesome.

      • KOVIDKristen

        Now I’m getting really hungry

    • KOVIDKristen

I decided on a cheebooger & fries. The short ribs are an all-day affair, so gotta save those for the weekend.

    • Swiss Servator

Because I love you all…OK, maybe not love…er, because I like you all, I gift you Abdul Qazi’s kabob recipe….

1 lbs lamb cubes, Salt to taste, 1/2 tsp onion powder, Pepper to taste, 2 cloves fresh garlic, 1 green pepper chunked, 1 tsp yoghurt, 1 onion chunked, 1-2 tsp olive oil, 1 tomato in wedges (I substituted large Mushrooms) 1-2 tsp fresh cilantro, chopped. 1-2 tsp chopped parsley, 1 lemon in wedges.
Directions: Rinse lamb in cold water and pat dry. In a blender or food processor combine the onion powder, garlic, yoghurt, olive oil, cilantro, parsley, salt and pepper. Blend well. Spread on lamb and let marinate at least 2 hours, overnight is better. Thread meat onto four skewers. Thread vegetables onto four different skewers, alternating the pepper, onion and tomato. Cook over a medium hot grill, supporting the ends of the meat skewers so the meat does not touch the grill. Cook skewers about 10 minutes, turning two to three times. Serve with rice and wedges of lemon. Serves four. Doubles easily.

      • Spudalicious

        Stolen.

      • Swiss Servator

Gladly given. I met Abdul in the suburbs of Chicago…ended up digging a deep irrigation well in his home village back in the ‘stan.

        Small world.

  5. EvilSheldon

Should I list some primers on Gunbroker? I could probably do without two or three cases, and the prices they’re going for are nuts.

Which is the higher libertarian calling, hoarding munitions or capitalist price-gouging?

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

There’s no such thing as gouging.

    • westernsloper

Pretty sure only true libertarians load their own.

      • DenverJ

Well, yeah, they have to- there are no libertarian women

      • DenverJ

        *takes bow*

    • Fourscore

Is a case a 1000 primer carton? Or bigger? What are the other sellers charging for a similar item/quantity?

      • EvilSheldon

A case of primers is 5000. A carton is 1000. I have two or three cases (10k-15k small pistol primers) that I could probably do without.

Brand-name small pistol primers are selling on the auction sites for $150-200 per carton, sometimes more. I saw an unbroken case of 5000 go for $1100.

      • Count Potato

        WOW

      • Fourscore

I haven’t bought any for a long, long time, were about $2 @ 100, 2 cents a piece. $20 @ 100 is about what I’ve have in my reloads,, from the old days.

I don’t have any use for small pistol. Some of the boys that shoot way more than me should be interested though.

      • Swiss Servator

Go on take the money and run…ooh ooh ooh, go on take the money and run…

      • MikeS

        Yeah! Yeah! Oooh, ooh, ooh…

Mighty Mac tower tour for Yusef. I’ve done the labor day bridge walk many times but never been in the towers.

    https://youtu.be/nhk9MLdQmlI

    • KOVIDKristen

      That’s very cool

      • The Gunslinger

I watched Modern Marvels: Mackinac Bridge on history channel last night. The iron workers that built the bridge had cannonballs for balls.

    • DEG

      Cool!

My one grandfather was a long-haul trucker. He said he had driven trucks over that bridge. He said it was interesting when the winds picked up.

      • DEG

I don’t think he lost a trailer, but he talk about taking up multiple lanes as the winds pushed the trailer around.

      • The Gunslinger

        Mackinac bridge fun fact:

All suspension bridges are designed to move to accommodate wind, change in temperature, and weight. It is possible that the deck at center span could move as much as 35 feet (east or west) due to high winds. This would only happen under severe wind conditions. The deck would not swing or “sway” but rather move slowly in one direction based on the force and direction of the wind. After the wind subsides, the weight of the vehicles crossing would slowly move it back into center position

  7. Nephilium

So… looks like DeWine is getting some pushback on his latest diktats.

    • westernsloper

You can open a bar at 5 am in Ohio?

      • Nephilium

Yep. But IIRC, there’s a minimum time between when you close and when you open. There’s a couple near me that catered to the third shift workers at the Ford and GM plants. In previous years, quite a few places close early on St. Practice day (3/16) in order to open for kegs and eggs on St. Patrick’s day.

      • Don escaped Two Corinthians

I don’t remember it precisely, but it seems like TX has a law that a car dealership must be closed on either Saturday or Sunday.

      • MikeS

NoDak still has a Blue Law that car dealerships can’t be open on Sunday.

      • Fourscore

        MN too

      • Don escaped Two Corinthians

        I messed that up.

I’m sure there’s a law; what’s weird is that the dealership must decide: whether to close on Saturday or Sunday.
Or maybe the law says they can only be open six days a week.

        One of them deals.

      • DrOtto

They have to be closed on either Saturday or Sunday, their choice. Carmax took them to court over it and the suit went to the TX Supreme Court, where the state ultimately prevailed. Although, I’ve bought at least one car at a “closed” dealership on N. Shepard in Houston. “We’re dating the paperwork for tomorrow since the title office is closed today.”

      • blackjack

People go to bars in OH at 5 a.m.? Sounds more like a vegas thing.

      • Swiss Servator

I’ve seen guys hammering on doors at bars at 7am because they just got off third shift, and WHER MUH SHOT AND BEER!!!!

      • slumbrew

The local has morning regulars, waiting for the doors to be unlocked.

When there was a Social Security office across the street, there would be a good crowd twice a month.

      • Swiss Servator

Are you on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago?!

      • slumbrew

Hah, no. Formerly blue-collar Somerville, MA, home of Whitey Bulger* and the Winter Hill Gang (Winter Hill is a few blocks away).

It has changed a bit, but the local had those morning regs, then late afternoon Irish painters and plasters would show up starting around 3, then that’d turn into Tufts kids a few hours after that. A fun mix.

*When I first moved here for school, I was taken aback by the fact that the FBI’s most wanted’s brother, Billy, was the president of the Mass Senate. NBD, apparently. “They never talk”.

      • Nephilium

There’s a local under a mile from me that opens at 07:00 every weekday. It’s the darkest bar I’ve ever been in, and has a decent food menu. The beer menu is… tolerable.

    • LemonGrenade

If tar and feathers and a rail are not involved, it’s not enough.

    • westernsloper

There is interesting turns on the shutdown front in my neck of the woods.

    • DEG

Did the impeachment proposal go anywhere?

      • Nephilium

Not yet. Nor has there been a vote to override the veto on the bill that would limit his powers.

  8. Rebel Scum

Go ahead and talk amongst yourselves.

You are all the voices in my head.

        /wonders if there’s a loganberry ice cream

      • DenverJ

        Make your own

      • rhywun

I haven’t seen loganberry drink since I left Rochester a few decades ago. Maybe the new Wegman’s that opened up in one of the hipster parts of Brooklyn sells it.

      • rhywun

Feh. I’m not a big enough fan of ice cream to invest in spending time to make it.

      • Nephilium

You can use the ice cream maker to make sorbets, ice cream, frozen custard, and (most importantly) frozen cocktails.

      • slumbrew

One of the greatest days of my life was watching non-elite joe flacco out play kaepernick in the 2012 super bowl. Yes, the score was close at the end, but that was after the NFL cut the lights to give SF time to regroup to make the game closer to keep viewership high. Flacco is a husk if his former self and should probably retire and devote his full time to his 17 children along with his barefoot and perpetually pregnant wife

I find Twitter a weird animal. If I am not signed in the “more tweets” list is some leftist weird angry stuff. If I am signed in it shows more in line with what I follow which is liberty minded folks. It perpetuates ones bubble.

      • DenverJ

I read a thing about that, and it’s true of the algorithms governing facebook and google, also, as well, too.

      • blackjack

They’re still trying to steer you into the “light,” however subtly. They have a goal. They have various means at their disposal. They intend to push the issue, and they do. Even if it takes a long game.

    • Drake

Not even if it was free.

      • Nephilium

The girlfriend wanted it for the Mandalorian. We already had Hulu, so it cost $6 to add Disney and ESPN (which I don’t think I’ve used once).

      • Nephilium

In fairness, it does have all the various Spider-Man cartoons (shut up! I’ve been a fanboy since I was a kid), the rebooted DuckTales, and Gargoyles.

I’ve passed on Star Wars since the Last Jedi. The only thing that’s even tempted me was the Lego Star Wars Holiday special (and I could pass that off as a Lego thing).

      • rhywun

I’ve played a couple of the Lego video games and the Star Wars one was the best one.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

      I’ll pass…

    • Tulip

      Pass

    • Crazy Capn Gunboat Willy

      “10 Star Wars series”

I can’t wait to see how they fuck this up. Yes the mandalorian is pretty cool and solo was better than expected but everything else aside from those two isolated projects have been mediocre to shitty. If only they didn’t completely annihilate 20+ years of expanded universe canon for their masturbatory exploits. They’d have a decent well of stories and inspiration to draw from (EU tidbits in mandalorian non-withstanding). Fuck maybe they’ll realize they were wrong, thrown Kathleen Kennedy in the basement and bring back EU stuff. As a long time fan I want to see them succeed and have good content.

      • Gadfly

FYI, if you haven’t been keeping up with the new season of the Mandalorian they are absolutely bringing back some of the EU stuff (at least, I’ve heard it’s EU stuff, I’m not that big of a Star Wars fan to know first hand). They’ve had Ashoka Tano, mentions of Admiral Thrawn, and a survived-the-Sarlaac Boba Fett.

      • Crazy Capn Gunboat Willy

Oh yeah. I’ve been keeping up with the mandalorian. That seems to be the only one that has EU aspects in it. Shit even the prequels had EU stuff in them. But like I said imandallrian just a few tidbits here and there, but I was hoping they’d flesh out some of the other elements a little better, IE: the heir to the empire trilogy, the X-Wing stories, tales from the bounty hunters, jabbas palace, and the Courtship of Princess Leia (guilty pleasure).

      • J. Frank Parnell

Thrawn was the main villain in the last couple seasons of Rebels.

      • Crazy Capn Gunboat Willy

I figured that was the case. I knew the twilek Jedi from the one episode of mandalorian with Michael biehn knew who thrawn was and was a character in rebels and clone wars, But I never really got into either one.

      • Gadfly

I guess to someone who is familiar with the EU it would seem like tidbits, but to me them spending whole episodes on some of that stuff makes it seem less like they are just throwing some easter eggs around and more like they are setting up for bringing a lot of that stuff back into canon.

      • Crazy Capn Gunboat Willy

I’m still watching for those very story arcs. Fingers are highly crossed. Also want to see them revisit Amy Sedaris.

    • Agent Cooper

The Mandalorian is good. I hope that the Kenobi series is good, too.

People like Feloni and Favreau and Watiti doing the work is a good thing.

You should give it a chance. (Favreau is pretty much a libertarian.)

    • Tulip

      Are they having a stroke?

      • Drake

Some of the people in the trial developed Bell’s palsy. But they promise that it’s unrelated. And Congress gave them immunity, so shut up and get it.

Think of your crooked face as a freedom pass.

      • blackjack

        Wisconsin, 5400 strokes!

      • DEG

Bell’s Palsy according to some other versions of the picture I’ve seen.

    • Rebel Scum

American companies developed it as they develop many drugs…but Americans are not allowed to benefit from that. Sure…

That said there is no way in hell I am taking any vaccine for this particular flu strain.

      • blackjack

They also make booze out of gasoline. I hear it’ll get you dead drunk.

      • Rebel Scum

        Why is the rum gone?!

But seriously I had a bad experience with 151 in college.

      • blackjack

Yeah. We are going have to forgo raises and probably take some hits because the government screwed itself along with all the rubes. Last thing I want is to be hustling for money in the coming ” post pandemic economy.” I am going to sue them if we take any serious hits. I have a case that says they can’t create an emergency and then use it to justify violating contracts, which is exactly what happened here.

Then once this unproved new class of vaccine is involuntarily injected into me it will be so effective that I will still need to wear my “talis-mask”, right? But since I won’t be charged directly and my taxes paid for research, production, distribution, medical staff, that means this was “free”?

18 states plus the PA house have joined the Texas suit. Many Blue states have lined up with Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and the PA gov. Regardless of whichever way the SC decides, the fault lines in this country are starting to crack.

So how does this one go? X number of state legislatures vote to leave the Union and stop enforcing federal laws or taxes? President Harris calls out the Army (less all those who resign to go with their seceded state) to capture each state capital and drag them back into the Union? Or does the West Coast form its own country, the Northeast another, and the Upper Midwest have intrastate civil war to decide whether to join new Confederacy or ally with one of the coasts?

      • MikeS

the Upper Midwest have intrastate civil war to decide whether to join new Confederacy or ally with one of the coasts?

I can’t see how that would be a plausible outcome. I guess maybe it depends on your definition on “Upper Midwest”.

      • Gadfly

I can, at least for a few of them. I can totally see downstate Illinois deciding to leave Chicago, Michigan dumping Detroit, Wisconsin saying goodbye to Milwaukee, and the outlands of Minnesota deciding they don’t want to be tied to Minneapolis-St Paul any more.

      • Drake

Cities versus rural areas – everywhere.

      • MikeS

I don’t consider Illinois to be UMW (maybe I’m wrong?). And as far as Michigan, the mitten goes east and the UP goes west. SE Wisconsin goes with Chicago. M/SP and Duluth have a mass exodus of refugees heading to the safe confines of Wrigley Field. There will obviously be localized skirmishes everywhere.

I mentioned it a while back; I picture a mid-continental country with it’s core being the plains states (North Dakota to Texas) and then spreading out to various degrees east and west.

And I do believe that the best way to avoid the worst outcome is for there to be a large, strong, clear defiance – make the tyrants see that there is a huge cost to going where they want to take us, and perhaps they will think better of the attempt.

He beat me because I wasn’t paying enough attention to the clock. I’ve never played timed chess before.

      • Don escaped Two Corinthians

Oh, it’s always set to something; I’m not draconian about it: any reasonable pace is okay by me. If one doesn’t have a clock online, you get guys taking 20 minutes a move or saving themselves by checking their game on a separate engine. So I usually have mine set for 10 minutes: 10 minutes each, so, theoretically, could go 20 minutes.

Another entirely reasonable set-up is, say, 3/30, where each gets three minutes to start and another 30 seconds each move. I’m glad to play all night with a guy who takes no more than 30 seconds per move . . . and of course you bank some time early when you’re slamming through your opening.

      • DenverJ

I wanna play! I learned the game starting at 4 yrs old. Pappa was Polish.

      • trshmnstr the terrible

Oh, it’s always set to something; I’m not draconian about it: any reasonable pace is okay by me.

I like the idea of timed chess, but I’ve been focusing on thinking through the moves rather than making the move of first impression while playing the bots, to a decent level of success.

It definitely caught me off guard when I looked down and saw I had like 2:30 left and you had 7:00 left. That was shortly after I blundered my queen away. After that it was just a scramble to try to save enough time to make it to an endgame of some sort.

    • Chafed

      That is generous.

    • BakedPenguin

      Oh, Charlie Gard treatment.

But don’t worry, Biden socialist health care will be totally different.

      • BakedPenguin

        Ah, damn. wrong comment.

      • hayeksplosives

On April 11, the British High Court acceded to the hospital’s demands, issuing an order that both barred Charlie’s parents from withdrawing him from the hospital and mandated that the hospital remove him from life support and allow him to die.

At the time, I thought the NHS blocked the travel because they didn’t want to be shown up by the American med team.

But after Covid lockdown, closure, and enforced curfew, I see that it was the petty tyrants putting those uppity parents in their place. As a warning to others.

      • BakedPenguin

And you’d already referenced that case in your previous comment. I’m gonna go back to the bench now.

      • hayeksplosives

The spot next to me on the bench is all warmed up for ya.

Over the years I have had a number of arguments over what the limiting principle is in regards to government action in regards to the general welfare. Even fairly early in life, I could see that the safety mandate that government takes can easily become extremes. Often it would be about drug laws, or smoking bans, or seatbelt laws or the like such as no longer being allowed to ride in the back of a pickup. Frequently when I wanted to point out how far it could be taken I would use a hypothetical example of passing a public helmet law. After all there are many head injuries from slip and falls and of course it would protect you against a car accident while driving , a classic argumentum absurdum. “Now you are just being ridiculous.” Little did I know that 2020 would basically make that happen.

    • dbleagle

Despite Hawaii’s deep blue tint, riding in the back of a pickup is legal and very common here.

If in December 2019 you would have told me that Americans would have surrendered with nary a fight to the health socialists I would have laughed in your face. If you tell me in December 2020 the health socialists were on the March. I will just sign, agree, and reach for another drink. The worst Karens and Chads are the young. Most of us born in the 1950’s and 60’s seem to taking the panicdemic much better than those born just a decade or two later.

      • hayeksplosives

Brad Stine was right when he said helmets would screw up an entire generation and turn them into whiney twats.

What’s up with Donald Trump JR’s girlfriend being Gavin Newsom’s ex wife?

I didn’t know that until today.

I’d like to congratulate them on joining a list of people that contains other august luminaries such as Hitler and Stalin. I hope they don’t manage to live up to that high bar.

Ugh, dressing up animals in cute outfits that are completely nonfunctional is bizarre.

Remember that kid who got in trouble for showing a BB gun at Zoom call school? The school board declined the other day to remove that from his record:

    https://reason.com/2020/12/07/kamauri-harrison-school-virtual-bb-gun-suspension/

“The Harrisons have argued their home is not an extension of Ka’Mauri’s classroom”: Sounds reasonable to me.

    • mrfamous

They need to remove their son from the school board’s record. If that’s how the school is gonna be about things, then they can’t be trusted with any aspect of their son’s welfare. I can see temporarily tolerating the ravings of an individual nitwit at the school, but when the board signs off on it?

    mornin’

Thanks to the fucked-up weather in SW Ohio, Im cultivating a scorching sinus infection. The best part is the drainage going down my throat makes me cough.
All night at work I was looked @ side-eyed more than a few times.

Mornin’, homey. Hope you feel better quicker and, most of all, don’t have to be subjected to the nasal probe. : (

      Feel better.

      • Tres Cool

I was told once that ‘the doctor who treats himself has a fool for a patient’. However, as a doctor (I bought my PhD from the Universal Life Church), Im prescribing myself a 6-pack of tall boys and 2 benadryl. That should hold things down. I’ve already taken so much zinc, I should be galvanized.

        Don’t forget the vitamin C.

      • Surly Knott

        And vitamin D

Shit! Every time I sneeze at work I get that reaction and my work life consists of dust.

They are milkin’ the hell out of that story.

I havent seen how old she was, but just shot out kid #7?

I half expected to learn she was an STNA or maybe a candy-striper, and the local media was hyping it up. I looked her up. According to the nursing board she’s a legit RN.
        Well, was.

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/st-louis-circuit-attorney-off-mccloskey-gun-case-after-using-it-for-political-purposes-judge-rules

The circuit attorney for the city of St. Louis has been disqualified from prosecuting Mark and Patricia McCloskey, a local couple facing felony charges after defending their home with weapons when protesters marched through their neighborhood in June, according to reports.

The content of some campaign fundraising emails by Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner infringed on the McCloskeys’ right to receive a fair trial, Circuit Judge Thomas Clark II ruled Thursday, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
