Depends on whether or not the Masters are the ones tied to the track.

What a week. One very important thing we’ve learned is that the government does not like “no knock entries”. And now the Great Conservative Purge on social media has begun. I’ve pretty much tuned out on the news, but let’s see if we can find something that doesn’t require us to be talked off the ledge.

Looks like the media is learning about the law of unintended consequences.

I’m stunned.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

The last time California recalled a governor, they replaced him with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I and I thought lithium batteries were dangerous.

Let’s go light and mellow tonight with a little Joe Pass.

I don’t think they have learned anything other than to propagandize harder.

Aircraft takeoff and landing systems on the USS Gerald R. Ford remain unreliable and break down too often more than three years after the $13.2 billion carrier was delivered, according to the Pentagon’s top tester.

    Good enough for government work.

    • Not an Economist

Even at $3.5 billion it could potentially save money if they get it working. Steam catapults are either on or off and as a result very hard on the aircraft. The electromagnetic ones promise the ability to ramp up slower and would be easier on the aircraft. Plus anytime you design anything new, they very rarely work as reliably as intended. Too many interacting parts to account for, including the structure around the catapult.

      • LCDR_Fish

Steam is also very risky to work around (although those systems may have been less dangerous than Engineering steam systems). Of course…no idea what kind of EM exposure the techs get with the new systems.

    • Chafed

      Fact check: sadly true.

So the original was “Pass the Doobie”?

Also, at Brett Kavanaugh’s high school parties, they used to play Doobie Brothers albums.
His favorite song by them was “Long Train Runnin'”

    That’s quite a headline.

The CEO of a Chicago company said he was arrested after breaching the US Capitol during Wednesday’s Trump-fueled insurrection in Washington, DC.

Brad Rukstales, CEO of the marketing technology firm Cogensia, apologized for what he called a “moment of extremely poor judgment.”
“It was the single worst personal decision of my life,” Rukstales said in a statement posted on Twitter.
Cogensia, based in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, sought to distance itself from its CEO, whom the company said has been placed on leave of absence.

Actually, by BLM/Antifa standards it was exceedingly peaceful.

News outlets are publishing more and more videos, photos and testimonials from Wednesday’s pro-Trump riot on Capitol Hill. And it’s becoming clear that as heinous as the attack looked in real time, on live TV and in our social feeds, it was even worse than we knew then.

It was even more violent. It was even more treacherous. And Trump’s behavior was even more disturbing.

And now my bp is up. Thanks, CNN.

I’ve recently had to work with a full blown ‘tifa person. She loves the Borat movies because she hates Americans. She does this exaggerated emphasis when she says things like “THEY ARE SOOOOO STUUUPID” at a volume adjusted for everyone within 50yds or so to hear. A cynical take would be that she seems to think the rest of us are below her, but she puts on the pretense of being nice because she has to get on with us (incentives, huh). Anyway, even though she’s not from around my way, she knows where I live, and it turns out some of her friends are up this way. I get on okay with her. I avoid politics because that would be suicide. Sometimes she’ll be browsing news and FB on her phone and, even though the rest of us have no idea what she’s looking at, she’ll respond to what she’s seeing by saying “ohh”, loudly, and “oh dear” while smirking. Anyway, I don’t want to get involved, or be doxxed, and I’m fairly certain she thinks I’m a bad wrongthink person but I try to avoid those topics. When she asked me about Borat I did say that I don’t find it funny.

That’s not creepy and Orwellian at all.

“At @ProjectLincoln we are constructing a database of Trump officials & staff that will detail their roles in the Trump administration & track where they are now,” he wrote. “No personal info, only professional. But they will be held accountable & not allowed to pretend they were not involved.”

    Involved with what?

    • Charlie Suet

The desire to create a parallel criminal justice system for people you can’t prove are guilty of any crime is striking. Though at least (ideally) when you’ve committed a crime you’re supposed to get a fair trial and a defined sentence. For these clowns there’s basically nothing you can do to redeem yourself.

      • hayeksplosives

They are taking a page out of the university parallel “justice system” where accusations are enough to drum a student out of school and blacklist him.

Similarly, the NFL doesn’t just punish breaking NFL rules (doping, skipping out on required OTAs, etc) , now they also punish players for domestic abuse and other behaviors that are already crimes.

That is effed up. If you have enough of a case, let criminal courts take care of it. Otherwise, drop it due to lack of evidence.

        This trend is very scary.

Suddenly, their ire turned to him. Several men grabbed Minchillo by his backpack, pulling him down a flight of stairs. Others grasped the lanyard that identified him as media, dragging him through the throngs that wove flags reading “Don’t Tread on Me” and “TRUMP 2020.” “We’ll f—— kill you!” someone yelled. Then a man shoved him over a ledge.

    Why am I skeptical?

“Poor or unknown reliability of new technology systems critical for flight operations,” including its $3.5 billion electromagnetic launch system and advanced arresting gear, could “adversely affect” the carrier’s ability to generate sorties, he said.

Sheesh. When will they learn?/ $3.5 billion is too little. MORE MONEY!

But news of Gates’ pursuit of the private jet firm has raised eyebrows given the company’s actions are at direct odds with his very vocal stance on climate change.

How did this story see the light of day? The Daily Fail uses Apple products?

A renewed push to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom has attracted more than 1 million signatures, with 9 weeks left to collect the remaining 500,000 needed to place the measure on the ballot.

Overall, the effort needs roughly 1.5 million people to sign on by mid-March, which would trigger a mid-year election.

    Oh yeah. Better than PornHub.

The latest recall covers certain model-year 2016 through 2018, and additional 2020 through 2021, Hyundai Tucson SUVs. The vehicles have antilock brake system computers that can malfunction internally and cause an electrical short. That can lead to a fire.

    Mozilla is assho.

Mozilla, developer of the Firefox internet browser, has argued that more must be done to keep Donald Trump and other “bad actors” out of cyberspace, prompting many to vow to never use the group’s services again.

In a blog post titled ‘We need more than de-platforming’, the open-source software community said that Twitter’s decision to permanently ban Trump from its platform didn’t go far enough in weeding out “hate” on the internet. While blaming Trump for the “siege and take-over” of the US Capitol on January 6, the non-profit tech group argued that “white supremacy is about more than any one personality.”

“We need solutions that don’t start after untold damage has been done. Changing these dangerous dynamics requires more than just the temporary silencing or permanent removal of bad actors from social media platforms,” Mozilla wrote.

The group proposed a number of measures to help protect the internet from verboten views. Internet ads should list who paid for them, how much they are paying, and who is being targeted, Mozilla said. There should also be “meaningful transparency” of platform algorithms so that people can examine what kind of content is being promoted.

Did Biden actually win? Maybe, probably even, but ultimately the process was so sloppy that who the hell knows?

      • blackjack

If Biden won, fair and square, why hide from it. If I won, and I knew it was legit, I’d be clamoring even louder than my opponent for an investigation. Every possible indicator is pointing towards a fraudulent election. The most prominent is the absolute insistence that nobody mention the possibility of fraud. Not that there isn’t a massive degree of doubtful elements elsewhere, just that the reaction to any slight hint of wrongdoing is an obvious tell that the left is lying.

      • Akira

If Biden won, fair and square, why hide from it.

That’s certainly the standard they applied to Trump during the Russia hoax. They said that his anger about the investigation was just more evidence of his guilt. After all, as they said, why would he worry about the investigation if he knows he’s innocent? Shouldn’t he welcome that kind of thing?

Funny how standards just fly out the window as soon as it’s convenient.

      • rhywun

        Agreed.

At the same time, I wouldn’t be mustering the power of the entirety of American media and government to bury any attempt at such an investigation. It’s a tad suspect.

    • one true athena

I don’t click on Star Wars youtube links because then all YT will feed me is SW clickbait garbage, but the real problem is that the two ‘sides’ here are both awful. The woke side makes cardboard flawless ‘heroines’ and POC sidekicks with ‘diversity as their personality so can’t write a story worth the paper it’s printed on, but the other side only wants nostalgia pandering like that robotic Luke hacking at robots in a copy of the fanboy wank scene from Rogue One. If all you want is the OT, just fucking watch the OT again. I’m so tired of fans creaming their pants over that scene “It’s Star Wars!” — no, it’s a copy of a copy of Star Wars. It’s like the bit in TROS when JJ copies the “X-Wing lifting out of the water” but with no understanding that the moment was revelatory because it directly refuted Luke’s beliefs that it was impossible. Rey had no such belief, no reason to be amazed, so it’s hollow repetition to invoke nostalgia, with no meaning within the film itself.

Anyway, I’ll restrain myself there, but basically both sides are going to destroy it, just in different ways.

      • Akira

    • limey

Well the only one who is guaranteed to judge in terms of real libertarian principle is Gorsuch, and you will get a few opinions incidentally from Thomas, perhaps Barrett, Alito, on occasion, but in general I think you’re rarely going to get more than two or three justices taking the side of liberty. Six, eleven, thirteen; a majority is a majority. You only get one Gorsuch.

      • Raven Nation

Mainly because FDR’s own party opposed it. Don’t see today’s Dems opposing.

Also, FDR lost the battle but won war.

    • DenverJ

I think that would lead to actual, for real, rightwing insurgency. Are the dems that stupid? Or is it part of the plan? Push the right so far that they react, then use that reaction to impose even more draconian measures?

      • Akira

I’ll just say that if I wanted to encourage the rise of an actual, no-shit white nationalist extreme right insurgency, I couldn’t think of a better plan than what the Democrats are currently doing.

Just make disaffected rural whites feel like they don’t matter, they’ll be defrauded out of their votes, and their speech will be censored. The ballot box and the soap box have been taken away from them – anyone remember what the next part is?

And I don’t say this with any glee at all; I’m non-white but fucking hate SJW/socialist shit. If civil war breaks out between those two sides, what the hell am I supposed to do?? I think peaceful secession really is the best possible option at this point, and a lot of powerful people don’t want that to happen.

I’ll just say that if I wanted to encourage the rise of an actual, no-shit white nationalist extreme right insurgency, I couldn’t think of a better plan than what the Democrats are currently doing.

I think there might be a rise in racist groups, but for the last 4 decades conservative popular movements have made a concerted effort to proselytize minorities, and have denounced the racists who try to co-opt the movement.

      • Plinker762

I doubt very much there is any significant rise in racist groups except for on the left. Its pretty white up here in E. WA and N. ID and I meet all sorts of locals. There are racist comments, jokes, ect. but I haven’t seen any actual hostile behavior and the main characteristic required for acceptance is no being a lefty.

      • Gadfly

I’ll just say that if I wanted to encourage the rise of an actual, no-shit white nationalist extreme right insurgency, I couldn’t think of a better plan than what the Democrats are currently doing.

I think an extreme right wing insurgency will happen far before a white nationalist movement will happen, so you don’t need to worry (well, at least not about that one particular thing). There are a lot of non-white conservative firebrands, so who’s going to kick out allies just because of their skin color? The left isn’t just targeting white people, they are targeting all non-left people, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Heck, it’s entirely possible that a non-white person could be leading the right wing insurgency.

  40. PudPaisley

Well, Amazon just gave Parler the boot based on this Buzzfeed article.

    https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/johnpaczkowski/amazon-parler-aws

Never used Parler or visited the site, since I’m purging all social media minus this shithole of wrongthink.

Since I read the article 5 minutes ago, I’ve already cancelled my Amazon HD Music subscription and I’ll be looking for other alternatives going forward when purchasing items online. Not that it will make a difference, but I let them know how I feel about censorship. I also let them know they can cancel my Prime account if they don’t approve of the way I think.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Guess I’ll have to do the same with my Amazon music. I’ve found it to be as buggy as hell on mobile anyway.

      • PudPaisley

Just cancelled my Audible account through Amazon as well, and I won’t be buying or renting any more movies to watch on their platform. It’s nothing to them, but that’s $340 bucks a year they won’t be getting from me anymore.

Like many here, I’ve been purging or walking away from many things that used to consume my time and money. I’ve blacklisted all corporate news media for years, but I’m more diligent about it now. I quit Facebook and a Bears football blog that I posted at all the time this year and don’t miss either. Both turned into political shitfests.

I really hope there is a mass movement by people to start voting with their pocketbooks and eyeballs. Just stop giving these companies money and clicks. Kind of like the Democrat Walk Away movement.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Supporting companies that behave in ways I don’t like that deal in isolated markets doesn’t bother me that much but Amazon and Google and a few others that have their hands in everybody’s pie are especially dangerous when they decide to go this route.

    • hayeksplosives

      I admire what you’ve done.

I know I will have to give up Amazon. It’s going to be very difficult for me.

All these companies that are falling all over themselves to censor non-lefties do realize that 75 million Americans voted for Trump, right?

      • PudPaisley

Thanks Hayek. I’ll still keep using Amazon for now, but I’m going to cut out a lot of my bigger purchases, especially for business supplies. Many of these are once a year purchases that I can get direct from the supplier or manufacturer.

Maybe I’ll start using the Best Buy model for purchases: go to Amazon to look at the options, then go direct to the supplier or another seller to buy it.

I’ve already purged Google from my life, except for a burner email account. But, there is the big elephant in the room – Youtube. That is going to be VERY hard for me to stop using. I’ve cut back where I can find certain content elsewhere, but it’s like 90% of my screen viewing time, especially live music and how to videos.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Some people watch YT via a browser with an adblocker of some sort and supposedly no ads will play. All of the benefits to you with none of the ad revenue for them but I can’t say I’ve done it personally.

      • PudPaisley

Yeah, I’ve never seen ads on youtube through my computer that’s hooked up to the TV. That’s the only way I use it. If I watch on the phone or through the Roku the ads piss me off, so rarely do it. Thanks for making me feel better about it!

I agree with what you said above about the distinction of Google or Amazon or Facebook compared to small businesses. I live in a college town, so lots of lefty businesses. I can roll my eyes about their politics because they don’t have the same effect as giant tech.

      • DEG

I have adblock plus. I generally see no ads while on youtube.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

I’ll give it a try, I’ve been using YouTube Red but feel kind of bad about giving them money every month even if it isn’t much. Gracias.

      • trshmnstr the terrible

I would gladly switch to an alternative to YT, but I haven’t found one. All of the alternatives either suck or are mostly political content.

When I can watch a live stream of SpaceX testing a rocket on a different service, I’ll switch.

      • rhywun

I have never seen a Youtube ad.

That said, there are a couple models of adblocker. Some block the ads on your machine but still download them, and others block ads at the source and presumably don’t even download them and therefore don’t feed the beast. I am not certain if these principles apply to Youtube ads, which are of course more than just images.

TL;DR – I don’t know if my blocking Youtube ads denies them any revenue. I do get a “skip ads” button when there is an ad – do y’all?

      • PudPaisley

I never see a “skip ads” button. Like DEG, I use Adblock Plus.

      • rhywun

I use something called “Wipr” for Safari. I would like to know if it denies revenue but that information is difficult to find.

      Mt Bohemia report for PP:

I worked at the bottom terminal of their main lift all of the time I was there. I would say the mountain definitely has some challenging skiing for being in the midwest. I estimate that the top third of the mountain was relatively steep with a lot of varied terrain. Looks like they have a fair amount of tree or glade skiing. It is a ski area of the old school variety. No snowmaking and very basic skier services at the bottom. There was about 2 feet of snow there at the time but they won’t open until there is at least 3 at the top. They expected to open around the 15th of this month.

Yooper sure like their ditch banging (riding snowmobiles along side the roads). Snowmobile riders everywhere and despite MI closures, I saw a lot of bars surrounded by sleds but no one visible outside. I suspect that they were inside drinking and eating.

      • PudPaisley

Thanks Plinker. I’ll have to check it out sometime. It sounds a lot like how Whitecaps used to be before they got groomers, but a little more challenging.

I’m guessing snowmobile traffic is really heavy up that way and all along Lake Superior because the rest of the UP and everywhere else has relatively little snow this year. We’ve only had about 6 inches total by me, and usually it’s at least 3-4 times that by now. Hopefully they get lots more in the next month before I go up there for a snowmobile trip. Otherwise we’ll probably ended up there, but not by choice on this trip.

  44. Trigger Hippie

*checks back in on the news cycle for the first time in a few days*

So, Trump makes a few relatively innocuous Tweets, retweets the fact that many of his supporters are protesting in DC, ineffectual theatrics ensue, a few people die, amounting to little more than what we saw all summer, in many cases less, thus: An insurrection and the boogeyman of Trumpaloos that the Left always wanted finally happening. Oh, and the US Capitol is apparently a religious institution now. So that’s neat.

I mean, of course it was a legitimate attempt to overthrow the sitting government and implement their own leadership from among the tens of thousands in a disorganized mob and not a final fit of empty rage against a system that thoroughly defeated them.

Now, the authoritarian progressives have enough control to gaslight enough of us to implement everything they want over the next two years at the very least.

I mean, I kinda expected the the progressives to tighten the screws but I can only laugh at the Trump supporters in that crowd who thought that they would accomplish anything more than handing the DNC/Media another excuse to go even more authoritarian. What, did you expect a fair shake in relation to your actions in comparison to Antifa/BLM? Fucking idiots.

Next time, storm the Capitol armed to the teeth or stay the fuck home. You only hurt your own cause, jack-offs.

    • DenverJ

Yup. Although, I doubt there was much intention to actually storm the Capitol, seemed more like when my cat actually corners a squirrel on the balcony and then has no idea what to do. Or the guy at the bar yelling “let me go”, and then is horrified when his buddies actually let him go.

      • Trigger Hippie

Exactly. That ties into my thoughts about the Capitol police. They led the protesters into a trap and they had no idea what to do because I think many didn’t expect to actually get there and had no real general desire to cause anybody physical harm. Just howling into the void before witlessly stepping over the ledge.

      • DenverJ

I suspect the Capitol Police were just as surprised as the squirrel my cat cornered. Did you watch the one with the cop retreating with his baton and the guy following him up the stairs? Neither one had the passion to actually attack the other, even though both had opportunities to do so.

      • Plinker762

I don’t buy into the “they were lured into a trap” theories. I kind of the feel that since none of the Trump rallies showed signs of violence, the capitol police were complacent and didn’t anticipate the Q wackos and other fringers that showed up too.

      • Trigger Hippie

        See my comment below.

Look, I know I’m just talking out of my ass but it’s Saturday night, I’m home, alone, bored, and have nothing better to do than spitball.

      • Plinker762

        I don’t have 48 years left 🙂

      • Trigger Hippie

Neither do I, and I’m only 40. Over half a lifetime of hard living is catching up quickly. But no worries on my end. I’m sure our soon to be nationalized health care system will treat me as an individual who’s well being is their primary concern and not as a lifelong tax dodging borderline outlaw with a few harvestable organs worth ripping out of my still living body in order to get a return on investment. Nevermind that the way I choose to live has excluded me from every bailout check over the last ten plus years and I’ve never taken a penny in government subsidies. I’ll be one of the first late-middle aged people on the chopping block…at least they can’t make any money off my liver and lungs…fuck you, USHS!!!

Coviaids179 demands that you sacrifice your organs for someone younger and better connected!

      • Trigger Hippie

I did not. But I suspect any order that my conspiratorial mind has conjured up wouldn’t be passed along to the rank and file. I was thinking more along the lines of department heads making it a point to keep the boots on the ground unprepared with a select few in the proper areas opening the proverbial flood gates. I’ll concede that many cops in the Capitol building were legitimately confused and panicking. In no small part due to the intended lack of organization.

        *adjusts tinfoil jockstrap*

Gotta keep the jewels safe… well at my age I guess not. I’d be in my seventies before the freeloader left home.

      • Trigger Hippie

…misthread, or am I too stoned to follow?

      • Trigger Hippie

        Ah, just got it.

        Yep, too stoned to follow…ha!

      • Trigger Hippie

        P.S.

This new weed is called Rainmaker…it’s really, really good.

        God Bless Murder Mountain.

      • DenverJ

Cool cool. I’ve decided we’d doesn’t help my allergies, although appropriately sized hits of concentrate… well they make my sinuses go crazy too, but are easier to manage.
OMG baby is baking cookies for my mom, I don’t know if there will be any left to bring over tomorrow.

      • Trigger Hippie

Try some shatter or diamond if you can afford it. Especially the diamond. It’s basically just THC crystal and should ease any sort of allergic reaction that you’re having with the plant.

        Worth a shot, anyway.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

It was an excuse to do what they were already going to do, just a couple of weeks earlier. Not exactly a swift move on MAGA’s part though.

      • Trigger Hippie

Yep. And I don’t completely buy the ‘Response was slow due to bureaucratic red tape narrative’ even though it makes us feel better about ourselves. “Ha! Ineffective government!” …The Capitol police basically stepping aside for the protesters to me screamed: “We have orders to allow you to commit political suicide, welcome in.”

    • Viking1865

“Now, the authoritarian progressives have enough control to gaslight enough of us to implement everything they want over the next two years at the very least.”

They would have always come up with something. Hell we’re with the point with the media where they wouldn’t even report anything the government didn’t want them to.

      • Akira

Hell we’re with the point with the media where they wouldn’t even report anything the government didn’t want them to.

NBC literally hired former CIA director John Brennan as an “analyst”.

As Dave Smith said, “If we did have North Korean-style state-run media, how would it look any different from what we have now?”

      • hayeksplosives

        Brennan is a major scumbag.

      • Gustave Lytton

“PBS is an American public broadcaster”

“Al-Jazeera is in funded in whole or part by the Qatari government”

  45. DenverJ

Hey everyone. I’m sure somebody has already made the quip (about the first link) about “We need some muscle over here.” If not, consider it made and also I’m very disappointed with you people.
I will now read the comments backwards and screw up the threads beyond any hope.

    • blackjack

It’s so much easier when they just accidentally leave a tentacle porn page open. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. This is not one of those times.

    • Chafed

I have no idea what is going on there.

  46. Mojeaux

Thank you for the gorgeous music.

  47. Trigger Hippie

    Sorry for the shit-posting.

Just killing time until it’s time to pass out. It’s about that time…I should type the word time few more times.

Time for your regularly scheduled programming…time.

  48. Brochettaward

    Where the white bitches at?

    • Master JaimeRoberto (royal we/us)

      I got to them first.

      • Brochettaward

It should go without saying that the Bro don’t do sloppy seconds.

    • hayeksplosives

      Sigh. I’m over the hill.

      • Chafed

In fairness, your current avatar is misleading.

      • hayeksplosives

        Well, that is true.

  49. hayeksplosives

I made that FACEBOOK. Zip file that contains all my photos and videos etc,

In creating it, they gave all kinds of options on what to include or leave out, like comments you’ve made, pages liked, etc. Some of the options listed were surprises to me.

I’m going to pare it back, make sure I have an email address for friends I’ll actually miss, and eventually delete it.

I never joined Reddit, Instagram, or any of the others. I deleted my Imgur account.

Next up will be unsubscribing from as much as I can stand.

    And no more kindle-only content.

Amazon will be more like a painful, messy divorce…

I reflected back on my life and asked myself when was the last time a leftist tried to persuade me in good faith of the correctness of the leftist approach to government by using logic (however flawed) and explanations rather than name calling or appeals to societal consensus.

I think the last time was in undergraduate college.

Instead of teaching how to present and defend a thesis, lefties teach how to neutralize an opponent by using emotional appeals, then elitist dismissal, then name-calling, then censorship, and finally character and career assassination.

I was going to say that this all got worse under Obama, but I learned the above at about the age of 12 dealing with these people online. I don’t know if it’s just the sort of people that left wing ideology attracts or whether it’s a symptom of group think, for a lack of a better term for it. The major institutions, starting with the media, all reinforce their ideas. And they do so in a way that makes it seem like both the basic goodness and intelligence of the ideas are beyond reproach.

      • Brochettaward

Firsting is about establishing a natural hierarchy. It is a battle of wills that when done fairly and squarely is the most libertarian activity one can engage in. And I am the First of Firsters.

  52. Festus

    Anyone still about?

    • Brochettaward

It’s just you and me, Festus. Tonight you are an honorary Firster, The others, the day walkers, have all abandoned us.

      • Festus

But I done wanna be no fister…

      • Brochettaward

You were just offered the opportunity of a lifetime. Like casting pearls before swine.

    • Tejicano

      Here and accounted for!

    • Don escaped Two Corinthians

there was a time not too long ago when I didn’t miss a word at Glibs

      • Festus

I can’t keep up. Too much work. I’m a completest so it bothers me.

  53. Festus

Yesterday Suthen said some very nice things to me and even sent along many tunes. I hold him in the highest regard. High praise. High praise indeed!

    • Tejicano

Indeed. Suthenboy is certainly a man among men. I would trust him implicitly.

      • Festus

Yep. Although we’re about the same age, I told him years ago that when I grow up I want to be just like him. We share similar musical tastes, as well.

  54. Gustave Lytton

What happened to pita bread? Always used to be in the bread aisle since I was a kid. Now, only a few stores seem to carry it anymore.

    • Festus

It’s all flat-bread now. Give me a loaf of Wonder White and Kraft Singles, margarine and a can of Campbell’s and we’ll have a cozy luncheon.

      • Gustave Lytton

Wonder bread, also hard to find and doesn’t taste the same. None of it does. First the bakeries added crap and fillers in. Then they took those and other stuff out. I don’t want a vitamin supplement. I just want a loaf of sliced bread.

The bakeries around here are Bimbo (which has fucked up Oroweat’s recipes), US Bakery (no longer the home of the good bread as their long time slogan went), or store private label. I miss the old days.

      • Tejicano

Maybe you are aware that the word “bimbo” in Japanese means “poor” as in having no money.

      • Gustave Lytton

Not living up to their name. Grupo Bimbo has mucho dinero.

      • Festus

I just eat what Judi buys. I’m not really in a position to complain, overmuch. She braves the grocery store and I get what she brings home. In all honesty, going shopping with the mask on brings on a low-level panic attack.

      • Gustave Lytton

That’s a good wife right there. I wouldn’t complain either.

      • Festus

Yes. First Rate. I love her to pieces.

    • Akira

Pita bread is surprisingly easy to make. I haven’t bought bread at the store since 2009.

    • Agent Cooper

What happened to breadmakers? Everyone had a fucking breadmaker at home and now no one does.

  55. Festus

Mother would have turned 73 today. I wonder how much fun she is having chasing after ghostly banners in Purgatory.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Jeez, New York State has a climate more amenable to business than Portland or is it out of the frying pan and into the fire?

  56. Festus

I’m out. Chicken noodle soup calls it’s Siren Song so I bid thee a hearty adieu!

  57. Tres Cool

    suh’ fam?

    TALL CANS!

    • Sean

      Mornin

      • Gender Traitor

Mornin’, homey & Sean. Had to get up earlier than I’d have liked. Shut the cats out of bedroom because they disrupt the Mister’s sleep. Heard them fighting outside the bedroom door, and after that they wouldn’t leave me alone.

***SIGH!!!*** I’m a crazy cat lady now, I guess.

      • Sean

        *waves hi*

  58. Sean

Keto biscuits in the oven. This will be the first time trying this brand.

      • Tres Cool

Have you tried carbquick ? Ive made biscuits with it, and they arent bad. Works well for gravy too, in lieu of flour

      • Sean

        I have not.

These came out pretty good. Consistency was very good. Still needed more butter added though. Might be good with some herbs added next time.

  59. OBJ FRANKELSON

Poro Tip: if you are declare idols of the state sacred, dectying thier desecration and you have gangs of similarly dressed people visiting violence on you political enemies, you are very nearly the text book definition of fascist.

Not that it is a useful term anymore, but still.
