Firstinjg is more satisfying to me than cumming is, you know, as in having sex with a woman and cumming.

    • Surly Knott

Well of course. You’ve experienced firsting.

      • But Enough About [this space intentionally left blank]

That’s it. Surly wins the Internet today.

      • Brochettaward

I experienced your mother. She said I was the First at the sex.

      • blackjack

Most women consider that a bad thing. Just saying.

Loves me some cauliflower and some broccoli, ‘specially stir-fried together, but OMG the gas!  ?

TW: warm roasted cauliflower salad with chickpeas and tahini sauce is the bomb. ’Specially when you light the farts afterwards.

      • Fourscore

Fresh in a salad but that’s me.

Add some kalonji seed to them next time.

        Helps counter the gas-inducing qualities.

I don’t subscribe to anyone on youtube, I don’t log in to youtube.

I’m a proponent of boycotting more of these woke companies. Make them feel the loss of revenue for their bullshit. They despise me, so fuck them.

But I can’t kick Youtube. I just have to be satisfied knowing that I’m using an ad blocker and that they aren’t getting much from my clicks.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Yeah, you can log in and get all the Styx, Razorfist, and weird, weird ASMR quasi “I get off on POV hot girl simulating giving me a shave” porn you can stand without giving them a cent.

      • UnCivilServant

You don’t actually need to log in for that.

        Though I don’t understand ASMR.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

I’m one of the few that actually gets a physical tingle sensation from it: Repetitive movements and sounds do it and it can be toe curlingly pleasurable (in a non sexual way, it’s hard to describe) but I suspect most guys are just whacking off to it.

      • Gustave Lytton

I get it too, but I can’t stand the fake ASMR stuff. The fake whispering or crappy BGM ruins real stuff too.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Yeah, it’s hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. Check out Hatomugi ASMR if you want to indulge yourself though (notSIMPing).

Cauliflower rice is the shit. That’s all I have to contribute towards this conversation.

  7. blackjack

I got jacked at work, again.

I put in for a transfer. The only transfer available for the entire last year for any position. I got the feckless and incompetent union to force them to open the transfer, specifically so I could get it. Somehow, they opened it to the entire city, not just the airport. SO I had to compete with dog knows how many people. I wasn’t worried, because I have every possible advantage from working at the only other airport there is. I aced the interview and then it took a whole month to hear back. I wasn’t chosen.

I’m pretty sure management did it so they wouldn’t lose a mechanic at LAX. They’re not allowed to do that. They have to provide me a justification, so they will have to invent a reason. I had a huge issue with my asshole supervisor when I first transferred here. I had to file a complaint and they told him to back off. It’s a long story, but suffice it to say, I should have sued them right then. I’m just not the suing type. All I wanted was to be left alone. That supe gave me two not-so-good evals and I expect that will be the reason given. Which is good, because I gave them notice he was harassing me and now his actions have cost me actual damage. I’m so pissed. He’s the main reason I wanted to transfer and now he’s the reason I can’t. Once a guy starts at Van Nuys, it won’t open again for years.

Sorry for the whining. It’s just coursing through my veins right now.

No worries man. We all need to vent at times.

    • slumbrew

      That’s infuriating. Sorry, dude.

    • DEG

      Sorry.

    • Ted S.

Our supervisor bitched out somebody today loud enough for everybody on the floor to hear it for coming in the wrong door. We have stupid covid one-way traffic bullshit, and the one door that leads directly to outside (badge access) is technically out only now, although the people who bring in the mail on flatbeds can come in that way after the morning mail pick-up.

Everybody’s scared that the boss is going to have badge access to that door shut off, and since the door we’re supposed to use from the lobby often has the doors to outside locked first thing in the morning, it’s going to be fun when everybody is locked out trying to get into work at the start of shift. Worse, I’m the first one in most days so I’m probably going to be the one first affected by it..

If you must have one-way traffic, make that and the door to the main lobby the ways in, and the other two doors to further inside the building be the out doors.

      • Ted S.

Oh, and the person who came in the “wrong” door did so because she slipped and fell coming in the other door, which has a canopy that apparently leads to more icing than the one she used.

      • blackjack

That sucks. There’s not really an end to the bullshit we all have to put up with, just to give Biden an edge against Trump. Really pissed about all of this.

      • Tejicano

“just to give Biden an edge against Trump. ”

… which wasn’t enough anyway so they had to wheadle new ways into the election to steal it. So all the COVID theater wasn’t necessary anyway since they could have just stolen the election without driving the economy off a cliff.

      • rhywun

Can you work from home? Or are you “essential”?

I WFH and yeah this is another piece of stupidity that I won’t put with if I don’t have to.

      • Ted S.

I don’t have good enough internet to WFH. I’ve got a 1000-foot driveway and would have to pay to run cable to get anything other than satellite internet.

      • UnCivilServant

Shouting at employees generates a hostile work environment.

Slip and fall injuries make ambulance chasers perk up.

Your supervisor is angling for a lawsuit.

That blows blackjack. Sorry that happened to you.

It turns out I will be unsupervised this weekend. That’s right, the wife is away until Sunday!

Beer should be delivered in the next hour.

    • Rat on a train

I have the opposite. The wife scheduled a certification test for today. The test is 150 minutes. The site is 1 hour away in Richmond. She doesn’t drive outside an approximately 30 minute radius, so I get to drive her down, find someplace to wait, and drive her back. Unfortunately I don’t have the money to go on an electronics, sporting goods and power tool shopping spree while waiting.

    Sununu open to Senate run

Gov. Chris Sununu took a baby step closer on Friday to a U.S. Senate run in 2022, telling a radio talk show host he’s “definitely open to it.”
But Sununu, 46, said all options for the election cycle remain on the table, from seeking a fourth term as governor, returning to the private sector or, as he joked, “becoming a hermit.”
“I am open to it; we haven’t completely shut the door. Look, I’ve got kids to put through college. I try not to think about public service as a career; it’s really about how we should be tithing our time,” Sununu said on the Good Morning NH radio show with Jack Heath Friday.

    • UnCivilServant

Another poster child for cross-office term limits (that includes unelected jobs)

    • juris imprudent

Ha – public service as a career? Has he forgotten who his daddy was?

    • Akira

I try not to think about public service as a career

Can we talk about how misleading the term “public service” is when applied to government work?
It makes it sound like they gave up a life of fame and fortune to enter politics, which is fucking bullshit because politics IS the life of fame and fortune.

Politicians get a good salary and get paid even more for those sweet backroom deals. Their continued employment is only tangentially linked to their job performance. They get away with crimes that would land most of us in prison. They can bank on their names by writing having a team of ghostwriters throw together a “memoir” that will sell millions of copies.

And it sort of implies that those in private industry do not serve the public, which is completely backwards.

Judge allows Manchester police to continue mandatory details

A judge threw out a lawsuit brought by the owners of the downtown Manchester nightclub Whiskey’s 20, which challenged a Manchester police demand that the club pay for an off-duty police officer to cut down on police calls.
In an order dated Wednesday, U.S. District Court Judge Joseph DiClerico Jr. noted that police calls to the Old Granite Street club fell drastically once Whiskey’s 20 started hiring the detailed police officer at $258 a night.
Calls went from 295 in 2017 and 191 in 2018, to 10 for the first four months of 2019.
“This rationale for the City’s action,” DiClerico wrote Wednesday, “does not suggest any bad faith or malicious intent to injure.”

    • blackjack

Dafuq! Paying taxes is supposed to cover the cops coming when there’s a problem. Who the fuck are the police to “demand” that you pay cash to have on at the ready to do the job that tax money pays them to do?

Sununu orders schools to open for in-person learning at least two days a week

Gov. Chris Sununu announced Thursday he’s ordering the state’s public schools to reopen at least two days a week beginning March 8. It’s a decision likely to thrill thousands of working parents while enraging the state’s teachers unions and their Democratic allies.

”In the next few days, I will be signing an Executive Order requiring that, starting March 8, all K-12 schools must provide the option of in-person learning at least 2 days a week,” Sununu said. “The data is clear. Even without complete teacher vaccination, schools can reopen safely.”

It’s the culmination of a political battle that’s been waging for weeks between Sununu and the NEA-NH, as well as between parents and local schools across the state. Sununu has repeatedly pointed to data indicating classroom transmission of COVID 19 is extremely rare. NEA-NH President Megan Tuttle has insisted classrooms must be closed until all teachers are vaccinated, going so far as to call them “first responders.”

Heh, heh. It looks like they are now at 1.7 million signatures on the recall for Guv Greaseball. They need just under 1.5 million valid ones, and you can be sure they will be looking over each signature with a fine tooth comb. At this point it looks highly likely there will be a special recall election in a few months. I’m sure we will get another shitheel in there if it happens, but I am looking forward to Gav getting fucking tossed.

    • DEG

      🙂

      I will refrain from celebrating.

      Premature celebrating is bad.

      I will refrain from celebrating.

      • KSuellington

Ha! Thanks for donating DEG. I also won’t count any chickens just yet, but that is a little piece of positive news that they have made it this far, and under the stupid COVID bullshit that has made it way harder to gather signatures. As California goes, so eventually goes other places. I’d love to see the slide temporarily halted here.

      • DEG

I’m glad to help. I donated to all sorts of fundraisers for pushing back on the Lil Rona Panic. I think this one will go somewhere.

I agree – If Newsom gets recalled, shit will change.

      • blackjack

Something, something, Scwartzenegger. At least we saw the last of Gray Davis.

      • DEG

I’m thinking of the Lil Rona Panic. Newsom has been a big public face of the Lil Rona Panic. He’s out, and that shit changes.

      • blackjack

They’re saying that “cases” are down 77%. One guy from John’s Hopkins is saying the whole thing is likely over by April. I expect the Dems to come up with an excuse to keep up the charade, but it’s gonna be hard with all the good news.

      • rhywun

Toss in Cuomo resigning is disgrace – we don’t have recall – and there should be dancing from coast to coast.

      • UnCivilServant

Andy won’t go quietly. He is a mean, nasty, bitter, grasping, covetous cur.

      • KSuellington

Absolutely. It would be a very public shaming of one of the ringleaders of the panic. It would send a message that there are some consequences to that stance.

I haven’t heard of any contenders besides John Cox (whom I voted for) and Faulconer yet.

      • blackjack

The biggest question is, will the dems hold the line and not allow a blue team contender. If there’s no dem on the ballot, odds are we get a republican. Not really willing to speculate on what they’ll do. They gotta know he’s on the ropes. I suspect we’ll see a dem or three on the ballot. They are way more power hungry than loyal.

    • zwak

One of the things I have seen out there is people thinking this is just about him having been filmed eating in French Laundry. And that this isn’t a reason to recall him. They don’t seem to get the damage that is being done in the name of Covid, and just how fucked so many people are from all this. The people who are WFH and pro-lockdown just don’t get it.

I had also heard him being floated as a prez candidate. This will shoot that out of the water.

      • blackjack

That’s what we stand to gain here. Stopping the spread a little bit. Even if we get an “R”, it’ll be another douchebag like Arnie. I need more than a recall to regain hope for this state.

      • rhywun

So much this. The man is so transparently aiming at pres it would be to America’s great benefit to nip that shit in the bud.

      • KSuellington

There are many reasons I want to see him gone, but the lockdowns are número fricking uno. He fucked over so many people (and many people that I do business with) by the lockdowns that didn’t do a damn thing to keep the Vid from spreading. It’s stunning to me that we have a real time example of a state (and not a small rural state like South Dakota) that has opened up almost completely and had the same results. I get so mad about this I can’t sleep some nights, it bothers the hell out of me that more people can’t see it and that it has been allowed to happen for so long.

      • blackjack

He’s already starting to call for opening back up. The more serious the recall, the less serious the lockdowns. Now he’s gonna have numbers that demand a reopen and he’s gonna shout from the rooftops, “REOPEN NOW!” it’s all bullshit, but he’ll have cover for it. The election ain’t gonna happen for as long as they can wait, hoping this is all in the rearview mirror. It’s disgusting, but so is almost all of California politics for the last 20 years.

      • KSuellington

Yup. That is essentially how I view this recall. It’s a giant push on his greasy self to reopen. He is not going to want to face that election when the state is still closed for biz. I don’t hold out much hope for the state of my birth. This place was a fucking paradise and they have almost ruined it completely at this point. Within my lifetime it has gone from a beacon to a shithole.

      • Gustave Lytton

Preach it brother. Same thing here, just not as far along yet. But it’s not for lack of trying.

      • zwak

People here in Ohio always ask me “If you were born in California, what the hell are you doing here??”

I’m always happy to answer them:
        – Owning a house
        – Not paying insane taxes
        – Not dealing with crime, homelessness, and earthquakes
        – Easily finding a parking spot wherever I go
        – Not sitting in deadlock traffic for hours a day

    • creech

Based on the kind of scrutiny they give Libertarian petitions, the Newsom recallers had better get about 2.5 million signatures. And there will surely be claims of fraud, people signing twice, someone leaving out their middle initial, and all the other kinds of reasons that apparently aren’t valid reasons for presidential elections but peachy keen for recall efforts.

    • Lachowsky

The problem with shit-canning Newsom is that his replacement will be someone equally awful. California is a one party state and the options are not job and nutbag.

Abandon hope all ye who enter.

The Duality of my Evangelical Christian Upbringing, Part 1:

So are the living Jews going to convert on the spot at the second coming, and that’s why they’re worth preserving? Or is it some weird National Treasure logic?

      • Brochettaward

I think their continued existence is considered a prerequisite for the second coming.

      • Trigger Hippie

I believe you’re correct. Without references to the source material fresh in mind, certain parts of the Apocalypse will not take place until certain members of certain Judean tribes do certain things before and after the Rapture. It’s God’s Will to preserve the Jewish race in order to fulfill his prophecy, so said my elders.

      • Trigger Hippie

‘So are the living Jews going to convert on the spot at the second coming, and that’s why they’re worth preserving?’

Kinda. My particular sect of Christianity was very big on the whole “Tribulation Saints/End Times” believers being particularly privileged amongst those who reside in Heaven…I think they get a bigger house with more acres or some such shit. The Christian Jews after the Rapture get a whole city block.

      • Scruffy Nerfherder

        *sigh*

That particular interpretation of Christianity is rather annoying. It makes people spend more time worrying about what comes next than what’s going on right now.
