TUESDAY MORNING LINKS WITH ZARDOZ

by | Feb 2, 2021 | Cryptids, Daily Links | 471 comments

NO. THERE IS NO “OVERTIME”. UNLESS YOU MEAN “OVER TIME, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO BE A GRAIN SLAVE.”

ZARDOZ SPEAKS TO YOU, HIS CHOSEN ONES. THIS IS AN EARLIER HOUR THAN WHEN ZARDOZ USUALLY CONDUCTS GRAIN FERRYING OPERATIONS. THUS, ANY ERRORS ARE DUE TO ZARDOZ’S COGINITION CIRCUITS STILL WARMING UP. ZED HAD OFFERED SOMETHING CALLED “COFFEE”, BUT ZARDOZ’S AUXILLIARY TANKS ARE FOR EMERGENCY FUEL ONLY.

BUT THE CHOSEN ONES HAVE DONE WELL, PRAISING THE GUN AS GOOD (DON’T ASK ABOUT AMMUNITION – ZARDOZ CAN’T FIND ENOUGH FOR THE BRUTAL EXTERMINATORS LATELY) AND REALIZING THAT THE PENIS IS EVIL. THEREFORE, ZARDOZ GIVES YOU THE GIFT OF THE LINK! GO FORTH AND COMMENT.

  1. ZARDOZ WISHES TO NOMINATE HILLARY CLINTON, BARRACK OBAMA AND SUSAN RICE FOR THE NOBEL CLEANSING PRIZE FOR THEIR ONGOING CONTRIBUTION.
  2. CANNOT COMPUTE – THE BRUTAL NATION OF ISRAEL IS OFTEN ACCUSED OF TRYING TO CLEANSE OTHER BRUTALS IN THE LAND. THEY ARE DOING IT WRONG!
  3. AT LEAST ZARDOZ CAN COUNT ON THE BRUTALS OF RUSSIA FOR SOME GOOD OLD-FASHIONED OPPRESSION.

BONUS LINK: MIND PONG PLAYING MONKEYS?

ZARDOZ UNDERSTANDS THAT IN SUCH LINKS POSTS AS THIS, IT IS CUSTOMARY TO POST A “MUSIC LINK.” ZARDOZ SHALL DO SO, WITH ZARDOZ’S KIND OF MUSIC.

ZARDOZ HAS SPOKEN.

ZARDOZ WISHES TO NOMINATE HILLARY CLINTON, BARRACK OBAMA AND SUSAN RICE FOR THE NOBEL CLEANSING PRIZE FOR THEIR ONGOING CONTRIBUTION.

They sure as hell look like they don’t want to let you down either ZARDOZ…

    MIND PONG PLAYING MONKEYS?

They need a chipless verison – psychic monkeys!

    • Nephilium

There was a brief trend a couple years back for the “mind control” games. Put on a silly headband, and concentrate, and you too have the power to move a very light ball on a specialized table!

      • UnCivilServant

Then they realized there were easier ways to train you to think a certain way?

      • Nephilium

I can’t find the one that a friend of mine actually spent money on, but this is similar. Just as there’s trends in the beer world, there are trends in the board game world.

/looks at the number of %old classic% the Dice/Card Game

    • Pope Jimbo

A buddy of mine and I used to talk about the future of computing being a bunch of networked chimps. We called it the Massively Parallel Monkey Matrix.

      • Scruffy Nerfherder

For some reason, I find this to be extremely plausible.

  3. Count Potato

The important thing is that they literally brought back slavery.

    • AlexinCT

For our own good, though, right?

    • Rebel Scum

What difference, at this point, does it make?

      • cyto

Well, a whole hell of a lot, apparently.

  4. PieInTheSky

ZARDOZ WISHES TO NOMINATE HILLARY CLINTON, BARRACK OBAMA AND SUSAN RICE FOR THE NOBEL CLEANSING PRIZE FOR THEIR ONGOING CONTRIBUTION. – libya was just great before trump accused poor hillary of misdeeds

  5. Count Potato

“Several international bodies previously criticized Israel for initially refusing to send vaccines to the Palestinians. Israeli officials later recommended sending doses because Palestinian workers frequently enter Israel.”

So not entirely an act of generosity.

    • Swiss Servator

Eh. Could have simply sealed the border and told them to go beg the UN or WHO for shots.

      • Tonio

They are hugely dependent on Palestinian workers for labor like construction, restaurant, etc. It would be like “A Day without a Mexican.”

      • Rat on a train

I remember that day for being ordinary.

      • Rebel Scum

        Not at the Chipotle.

      • UnCivilServant

I can’t remember when it was supposed to have happened.

I didn’t notice anything different from any other day.

    • Trigger Hippie

Look, the PNA is a little strapped for cash after buying munitions, explosives, rockets, and lining their own pockets. Why function as a legitimate government when you can just blame Jews?

      • Tonio

        Everyone else does, amirite?

      • Trigger Hippie

This site would be perfect if only we got rid of….

      • juris imprudent

They just substitute Republican for Jew.

“ELON Musk claims to have overseen the creation of a cyborg monkey that can play video games with its mind.”

    What could possibly go wrong?

    • UnCivilServant

They shart owning the fortnite kiddies and cost Epic cash?

      • Nephilium

The Fortnite kiddies like winning, but that’s not the important thing to them. It’s about having a cool looking character avatar that they spent real money to bling out. It seems that for the youtes of today, it’s not that you have to have the right names on your shoes, clothing, or bags, but you better have an awesome avatar, and paint schemes, dances, and entrance gliders.

      • UnCivilServant

I honestly don’t know anyone who plays, so I don’t even remember it exists most of the time. Much like Riot game’s entire catalog.

      • Nephilium

One of my nephews is one of those kiddies. FFS, he’s not even grabbing the other free games that the Epic store is handing out, he’s just playing Fortnite. Neither of his parents really grok or understand video games at all, so the nephew was surprised when I could start talking about it, and had heard of some of the streamers he liked.

Of course, he still doesn’t listen to any of my suggestions on hardware/software/system maintenance.

      • UnCivilServant

If you’re going to install chinese spyware, at least take the freebies.

      • Trigger Hippie

You can’t spell Jim Morrison with those letters only.

      • Mojeaux

        You rang?

      • UnCivilServant

You’re supposed to ask that in a Lurch voice.

      • AlexinCT

Someone should insert a John Kerry pic here…

      Ape shall not kill ape.

      • Swiss Servator

      • AlexinCT

For a second there I thought you said they could still beat each other off, giving a whole new meaning to spanking the monkey…..

        Ook.

    • AlexinCT

‘The United Nations last week urged both sides of the conflict to reopen the road, as it hosts a meeting near Geneva to select a new transitional government for the whole country to oversee the run-up to elections scheduled for December.

Belqasem Egzait, a member of the State Council set up as part of an earlier peace process, said he believed diplomacy was moving forward, but would be slow.

“The political track is by its nature complex. That complexity will continue,” he told Reuters.

However, some Libya experts have warned of the risk of renewed fighting as the process drags on.’

Implosion of the “must vote Trump because the biggest threat facing America is critical race theory” crowd is fitting.
If you think not wanting to sit through a racial sensitivity seminar outweighs lies, corruption, and Constitutional violations, your priorities are out of whack.

    https://twitter.com/NGrossman81/status/1356400421602996229

this is stupid on so many levels

    • Swiss Servator

This is how you get more Trump.

Oddly enough, in that bush of the family thicket there is a last name I’ve never encountered otherwise. When I moved up here, I discovered a town in Otsego country with that name. I haven’t taken the time to figure out what the connection is.

      • Rat on a train

I visited a town that shared my last name. I was thankful there was no connection.

The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable.Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. She explained how at one point a man whom she believed to be a rioter broke into her congressional office as she hid in the bathroom.

She recalled hearing him yelling: ‘Where is she? Where is she?’

‘This was the moment where I thought everything was over,’ she said. ‘I thought I was going to die… I have never been quieter in my entire life.’

She later said she found out the man was actually a Capitol Police officer.

      This is so absurd.

      • leon

The absurdity is that we are supposed to act like she is sane and rational, when the thing she says she was afraid of never happened. She imagined it happening, but it didn’t happen and quite the opposite. But The fact that she imagined it, we are supposed to pretend like it was real.

I get it you were afraid, but what you were afraid of wasn’t real, and we shouldn’t make policy off of your fear driven emotions.

The continued closure of the key artery, and lawlessness along alternative routes, underline how Libya remains beset by instability 10 years after the NATO-backed uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi but unleashed civil war.

Interesting how one word changes that whole sentence. That is one big ol’ but.

    • AlexinCT

That “uprising” didn’t get old Muammar: the Clinton/Obama influence peddler machine trying to make sure that old Muammar would not screw over the Euros and send his oil to China is what got the guy…

    DEMOCRACY in action

Top House Democrats are moving to force Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene off multiple committees this week — with or without Kevin McCarthy’s help.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer delivered an ultimatum to McCarthy on Monday: Either Republicans move on their own to strip Greene (R-Ga.) of her committee assignments within 72 hours, or Democrats will bring the issue to the House floor.

The Democrats’ move, while highly unusual, comes amid intense fury within the Democratic Caucus over Greene’s long record of incendiary rhetoric, including peddling conspiracy theories that the nation’s deadliest mass shootings were staged. Greene also endorsed violence against Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other top Democrats before she was elected to Congress.

    ——-

Democrats are already teeing up potential floor action if McCarthy doesn’t act, scheduling a Rules Committee hearing for Wednesday afternoon on a resolution to strip Greene of her committee posts.

Some Republicans are privately warning of a dangerous new precedent if Democrats make a determination about who from the minority party is best fit to serve on committees, opening up the potential for a tit-for-tat between the two parties — especially if Republicans win back the House in two years. But while Democrats privately acknowledge their action is controversial, they say Greene’s behavior and rhetoric must be addressed forcefully.

Congress needs the power to veto elections and to reject anybody they don’t like. That’s how you get unity and healing.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Will the Republicans grow a pair or will they fold like the obsequious fucking pussies that they are? Tune in Friday to find out!

Congress needs the power to veto elections and to reject anybody they don’t like. That’s how you get unity and healing.

I mean they do… They can refuse to seat anyone in their chamber. They did it a few years ago (2018?) whith the guy from one of the carolinas for Election Fraud (which existed then, but only in that race, don’t look at the ballot harvesting going on in California, that’s legit because the Dems made it legal there).

    • Rebel Scum

      Why do Democrats hate women?

    • Chipwooder

When the Dems strip Maxine Waters of her committees, then sure, banish Green Until then, fuck off.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

        That’s a fair trade, I’ll take it.

      • Gustave Lytton

I think there’s a couple more kooky Democrats to strip of their assignments, if that’s the new standard.

    Good morning Zardoz.

On the GNA side, a local field commander, Musa Araibi Mayouf, said the absence of fighting since the summer showed that the current talks were serious. But he acknowledged the risk of a return to warfare.

“There are obstacles. And they are the gentlemen who sit in the political chairs,” he said. His fighters, in camouflage uniforms, stood atop their “technicals” – pick-up trucks mounted with anti-aircraft guns.

I have a pickup. Where does one acquire the AA gun? That would definitely set the tone for my forays into the big city.

I bet the peace negotiations would go faster if they were being held in Tripoli instead of some swanky Swiss hotel.

If I was a negotiator and my choices were a) continue negotiating while your hotel bar tab was picked up by the UN or b) go back to Tripoli and try putting that shithole back together again, I know what my choice would be.

*I bet a decent tip to the concierge would allow you to expense the hookers as laundry charges on your bill.

    • Stillhunter

A guy in town has an old army jeep (in excellent condition) he drives in the summer with a mounted machine gun. It doesn’t fire and he had to get permission from some entity to do it, but it’s pretty cool to see and always turns heads.

Not even OT if you read the Alt text – Someone at my head office leaked my e-mail to the building management corporation that we are contracted to so my mail has been inundated with pissy little requests and demands for the last four days. Dude, it’s the dead of winter. I’m not worried about washing the windows right now. Where are the buffers and safe guards now, Big Fella? Worst of all, it’s G-Mail which is probably the clunkiest communication system since tribesmen beat on hollow logs. It doesn’t help the situation much seeing as I am an Unfrozen Caveman Custodian and your new world of smartphone apps frightens and confuses me. At least the contact named (not a joke) Mee-Hee has excellent English skills.

Someone at my head office leaked my e-mail – wait business email? And is it leaked or given according to the company policy.

      • Festus

Personal. I am a luddite and only have the one. Maybe leaked is too strong. It was probably tagged on another message. In one way it’s fine, cutting out the ineffectual middleman, but at the same time I don’t need to kowtow to another master. I refused a task last week and it has come to this again. One other thought:

They shouldn’t be allowing access to personal email on the company network. Giant security hole, in many ways. The closest we have come to getting malware on our system was through phishing on personal email; it was a damned close call, and we have network security that the big cybersecurity insurance carriers use as a “best in class” example. No work anything should involve any email account that isn’t a company email account.

There was a MG dealer that had a quad .50 AA mount for sale a few years ago, complete with 4 M2HBs. I saw a different one in action at Knob Creek–the owner had cut the barrels short for visual effect and the thing made an incredible noise and light show.

      • Pope Jimbo

How in the world are you going to mount anything on an MG?

You can build a roll cage on that, with some netting to stop the spent casings from raining down on the driver.

You’d probably need a new suspension for the added weight.

I’ve owned a MG Midget. Even with your modifications, there would be no place for someone to stand and fire the weapon.

    BRUTALS.

The Great Gun Run of 2020 has definitely continued into the new year, and may even be picking up speed rather than slowing down now that Joe Biden and his Democratic cohorts have control of both the executive and legislative branches of the federal government.

According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s adjusted NICS figures for January of 2021, there were 2,052,130 background checks conducted on firearm sales last month; a 75% increase compared to the figures reported for January of 2020. The unadjusted January 2021 NICS figure of 4,288,240 (which includes checks not related to gun sales) is also about 62% higher than the unadjusted total from last January.

While it’s annoying to me that I can’t get ammo, I do take some delight in the fact that more guns (especially 80% lowers) are flying off the shelves like never before. 34. The Late P Brooks

    More:

On a leadership call on Sunday, Hoyer, Pelosi and other top Democrats discussed several options for taking action against Greene, including censure, expulsion and the resolution authored by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) that the Rules panel is considering Wednesday.

“We’re focused on making sure that we can render powerless the poisonous nature of this member,” Wasserman Schultz told reporters Monday, just before introducing her measure. “The House has to be able to take actions to police its own membership.”

    WRONG.

The Congress does not (in theory, anyway) select its own membership, you poisonous cunt. Elections are held. The citizens of that district select a person to represent them. Your job is to work with that person and respond to the wishes of the people she represents.

Hey Neph, do you have a good online source for quality whole bean coffee? I know you talked about being a coffee snob, and I’m finding the local sources hit or miss, and the hits are expensive.

    • PieInTheSky

      roast your own…

    • Nephilium

I’ve got several sources that I’ve used:

More Coffee has been my more recent go to, as they offer quick and free shipping to my area (and they’re affiliated with MoreBeer, so I already had an account).

Before, I used the Coffee Project but as I was getting back in, their selection was limited, and they weren’t stocking some of my favorites. They were in the middle of a back end change to their store front, so they may have gotten things back in stock. They also used to do a generic discount code for no rush shipping, which was nice.

      • Nephilium

And sorry, these are both based on green beans and roasting your own. To me, it’s a great deal, you get better, fresher coffee for less money, and just a bit of a time outlay (roasting a batch usually takes about 15 minutes).

      • db

What do you use for roasting? Does a regular convection oven work?

      • Nephilium

I have an old little FreshRoast that will do about 4 ounces at a time. I’m looking at upgrading to a better one. You can roast in a cast iron skillet, or a convection oven. The issue with both of those is that you need to keep stirring/shaking to move the beans around, and you’ll have to separate out the chaff when you’re done. You can also use a hot air popper to roast beans (which will work better as long as the air flow is enough to move the beans around). The FreshRoast I’m using is essentially a hot air popper with a timer, temperature selection (low/medium/high), and a variable fan knob.

If you like French roast or darker, be aware that you will be generating a lot of smoke when you’re roasting. Both of the sites I linked to above also sell roasters, which usually come with 4-6 pounds of green coffee beans as well.

      • db

I prefer the lighter roasts most of the time–dark roasts can be really good for some things, but I like light aromatic flavors.

Sounds like the roaster is a little fluidized bed unit. I’ll have to look into it.

      • R C Dean

We use Sweet Maria’s for our green beans. They have several roasters for sale, and good write-ups on them. We use a Gene Cafe, which has lasted us for years.

The advantages of home roasting: you get access to a big variety of beans, and you can roast them exactly the way you like. Highly recommended, if you can spend the upfront layout for a good roaster.

      • Brett L

But make sure you roast the night before. It takes a couple of hours for the outgassing to finish, otherwise your coffee tastes… less. It won’t be as flavorful. At least IMO.

      • Nephilium

Yep. 8-24 hours for outgassing (which is why most of the bags good coffee is sold in has a one way valve in it). And to avoid this just being a +1 comment, my favorite beans to roast and drink are:

Sumatran (the roast profile can change the flavor of this coffee so much)
Indonesia Sulawesi (this coffee ranks just below Blue Mountain for low acidity and great flavor)
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe (another low acid with some bright notes)

For a real change of pace, look for:

Monsooned Malabar for the unique processing method
Various peaberries (these will depend on the main origin)
        Various estate coffees

      • Not Adahn

“The system, which attaches to the Picatinny rail that’s a standard feature of most military rifles, can best be described as a ‘mechanical isolator’ for a soldier’s support hand, according to Matt Angle, the Wyoming-based electrical engineer who originally developed the system before piquing the U.S. military’s interest at a government-sponsored innovation summit in Austin, Texas back in 2016.

According to the original Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract for the ACE, the system is elegant in its simplicity: “A user selects a target or a direction, and then the system holds the weapon in the proper orientation. This effort seeks to merely correct for the shaking of the weapon that is not controllable by the user.”

“I can prevent the barrel from moving in ways I don’t want it to,” Angle told Task & Purpose in an interview. “Basically, you grab the device, and there’s a mechanical linkage system that keeps the barrel still in certain ways. It doesn’t automatically aim, but the whole thing is closer to image stabilization in a camera lens — as your hand shakes, the system moves to keep the barrel still.””

(And do some research on the swiss conscription laws.

      • robc

In a 2013 referendum, 73% voted to keep conscription.

        Simple version:

Basic training at age 18 and then a few weeks a year until age 35 (or age 50 if an officer). Apparently if “unfit” to serve you pay an addition 3% income tax during those years, unless you are disabled.

    • Count Potato

Yes, but only because the knife has a corkscrew.

    • Semi-Spartan Dad

Perhaps there is a way to incorporate the Swiss Model without conscription. Per your comment below, let the State offer basic training at age 18 and then a few weeks a year until age 35 (or age 50 if an officer). Participants receive payment for attending plus firearms/armor/gear. If you break your commitment to attend, you must return the payments and firearms/armor/gear.

You’ll have a well-trained and well-armed population without needing conscription.

      • robc

And include the alternate tax rate. Its totally volunteer, and you get a tax break too!

But you have to do it as a tax break, not a penalty for those not serving.

I’m afraid the toothpaste isn’t going back into the tube. We aren’t going to cease to be an imperial power until we are forced to, as the Brits were in WWII. Now afterwards, then the question is ripe for debate. Since the foreign policy is de facto infeasible, expanding our military footprint is only going to lead to trouble.

    • Plisade

I consider taxation to be labor conscription, so conscription as a principle is currently practiced here, not just in wartime. Since I’m against coercion of any sort, no I don’t “accept” it, but just like I pay taxes…

Can I respectfully ask a favor? Please do not bring your dramas and personality conflicts to the Zoom. Many of us see our weekend meetings as succor from the craziness of our fucked up world. Everyone is welcome regardless of willingness to speak or be on camera (though it’s nice if you say “hello”, at least in the text chat).

If you think someone has personally done you dirty, please address that privately.

I will fite anyone that attempts to create in-groups & out-groups here or elsewhere. We have enough of that in politics. We all have people with whom we don’t mesh. It’s fucking life.

It wouldn’t be weird if it was more common in that league. Soccer teams are almost universally named after their city. It just seems like American Sports enjoy coming up with mascots and team names more than just naming it after the city.

    Whole bean coffee?

My brief foray into that milieu was cut short more by the ineffectiveness and inconsistency of the “grinder” than the coffee itself. All I ever had or saw was the whirly blade style bean chopper. They suck.

    What grinder do people use?

    • Dr. Fronkensteen

Tinder. Wait what was the question again?

    • db

I have an electric burr style grinder; maybe a Cuisinart brand? I’ll gave to go look. It has a variable grind setting for coarseness that works pretty well.

    • PieInTheSky

You need a burr grinder. Well a first rule of thumb is if electric and under 300 US dollars it is probably not good. I use a Porlex Tall hand grinder right now, decent results.

      • Gustave Lytton

        That’s what I use too.

      • PieInTheSky

I mean there are plenty burr grinders under 300, but no coffee snob will say they are good.

      • PieInTheSky

I make v60 coffee though not espresso.

      • db

Not sure how the power source matters. Hand driven or motor driven, something has to impart work. Burrs are definitely superior to choppers, but that’s an issue of what contacts the beans and the mechanism of grinding them, not what powers the mill.

      • PieInTheSky

The general idea is that you need a stronger motor to slowly turn the burrs instead of one doing it fast, and also burr material quality matters, and cheap grinders have cheap parts

      • db

It is a common problem in milling materials of overheating or overworking the milled material, so I get that the speed is an issue–but electric vs hand operated doesn’t matter if the gearing is correct. Burr material probably matters mostly for longevity–keeping a good edge on the milling burr means a better cut. But really all the burr is doing is drawing the bean into the roll or ring gap. This style of mill relies on exceeding the crush strength of the milled material and letting it fracture along natural weak points in the particles to be ground. So the burr isn’t really supposed to be doing any cutting, just giving the crushing surfaces some friction to draw in the material.

You can do the same thing with a completely smooth milling ring/roll if you have another mechanism to force the material between the surfaces, but that’s less efficient and requires more machinery.

      • PieInTheSky

but electric vs hand operated doesn’t matter – it does. manual is much simpler so a 75USD manual has much better materials than a 75USD electrical

      • db

OK, I’ll buy that argument, if you get better quality on the mill in exchange for the motor.

On Sunday, a group of homelessness activists who dressed up in antifa-style black bloc, armed with batons and knives, entered the lobby of the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia, Wash., demanding the hotel open rooms for homeless people. Antifa agitators allegedly assaulted an employee while other employees hid in a basement room for more than six hours. The police eventually secured the hotel, but in the skirmish, agitators chanted, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon,” a death threat against cops.

Hotel employees first called the cops at about 11 a.m. Sunday. The staff said a “mob of people wearing black” armed with hatchets, batons, and knives had entered the lobby and demanded the hotel open rooms to them, KIRO7 reported. The antifa agitators wore gas masks, helmets, and goggles, apparently preparing for a battle.

The antifa agitators, organized with the group Oly Housing Now, occupied the hotel after advocates had booked 17 rooms and demanded that Thurston County continue to pay for the room with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding.

They knew that my husband and I weren’t planning on staying in New York for much longer, but they hadn’t expected that we would move so far away. Or that I’d want to settle down in a city that isn’t exactly known for its thriving public sector, urban design choices, or regional stature. But after a few of them mentioned the “Mistake on the Lake,” I decided that I would love Cleveland and it would love me back. Relentlessly. Unconditionally. We would make it work, no matter what.

    • But Enough About [this space intentionally left blank]

Festus: I get nosebleeds a fair amount in my right nostril only (deviated septum causes all kinds o’ problems). For a fast, temporary fix, get yourself some Otrivin or other nasal spray containing the active ingredient xylometazoline HCL. It shrinks the capillaries close to the surface of your nasal membranes and restricts the blood flow, turning off the faucet, so to speak. In order for it to work, you must blow your nose gently but thoroughly to get the fresh blood (and any forming clot) out, and then immediately spray the Otrivin up the offending nostril. Now you have to wait a couple of minutes, and you might need to blow/spray again if the blood flow washes too much of the Otrivin out too fast.

But it does work! Lasts for six to eight hours, and allows a small clot to form which can fix the problem for days or weeks, in my experience.

(Also, I’ve learned not to blow my nose after I wake up until I’ve had my shower . . . )

    • Dr Mossy Lawn

That is about what we have in our part of Northern NJ.. and lots of drifting. Mme Pelouse plowed the drive way this morning… Just enough power and traction to get up the hill, and that was with plowing yesterday at about 12″.

Off to the Airport to clear the Hangar later this afternoon.

      • db

        What’re you flying?

      • Dr Mossy Lawn

Mooney M20M Bravo.. Hangar faces north so it won’t clear from just the sun.

I’m pretty sure we have discussed it in your flying articles.

Nothing worse than a big snow storm out East.

The MSM will talk about nothing else for the next few weeks. The rest of us just shrug and say, yeah, that is a lot, but still you should be dug out within 24 hours of the snow stopping.

    • DEG

It looks like the second band of snow we were supposed to get in southern NH is going to amount to nothing, so I’m going to clear the driveway now. It looks kinda windy out. I’d guess about eight inches or so here.

Someone is riding a fat tire bike up and down my street.

      • cyto

Yeah it got really windy and cold down here too. The girls went swimming in the canal with their snorkel gear last night checking out what the local fauna was doing underwater. The wind kept blowing them down the canal. It was cold enough that my middle child is thinking about buying herself a shorty wetsuit.

Put peroxide on your T-shirt stains, and then Zout if you have it. Wash in cold. Repeat if necessary.

I repeat, Costco T-shirt. Still more good advice, though. Thanks, Friend!

    Florida man…

Two FBI agents were killed Tuesday morning and three others were wounded while trying to serve a search warrant at a home in Sunrise, Fla., in a child pornography case, the FBI confirmed to Fox News. The suspect is also dead.

The incident unfolded around 6 a.m. in the vicinity of 10100 Reflections Boulevard, Sunrise, Florida. Two of the wounded agents were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition, the FBI said. The names of the deceased will not be released at this time, they added.

So we’re back to the Obama days when the President did actually interfere with the freedom of the press and no one cared. Awesome. It’s so…progressive, like a tumor….

      • AlexinCT

Great analogy… The press loves to be ass raped as long as it is done by an autocratic democrat…

Next step: telling the reporters which questions they are allowed to ask. As if the reporters aren’t already slurping their you know whats.

      • cyto

I have seen a couple of Obama press briefings being prepared on C-SPAN. They literally went around the room telling the reporters who was going to get called on in what order and what the topic of their question would be. So the junior press secretary dude would say “Wolf, the first question goes to you on health care. Then we are going to Brent for a follow-up on Republican inaction on health care. The we are going to go to Ann for a question on wall street.”

The entire thing was choreographed street theater.

I was talking to a cow orker about this the other day. They drove up the stock and made short sellers lose their shorts, but what was the end game? By pulling this stunt the stunt pullers were due to lose, because Game Stop doesn’t actually make a good profit. Me losing money so I can laugh at someone else for losing money really is something I would never do.
