IFLA: The “Moar Pics” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of July 4

by | Jul 4, 2021 | IFLA | 50 comments

The main problem with fireworks is it makes it hard to see the stars.  But thankfully we’ve got charts to deal with this problem.  And this week the charts aren’t saying a whole lot to be completely honest.  I’m sorry for Pie and other Glibs born this time of year, but you’re kind of screwed this solar cycle.  The planet that should be bringing you luck is hanging out in Gemini (though you’ll get some of that mid-month) and the planets that should be giving you love and power are in Leo (and they ain’t coming back until next year).  It’s a good week for those of you married/domestically partnered/living in sin, but that’s about all the stars are wanting to say.

Saratoga Lake, after she’s figured out what her webbed feet are for

Cancer:  Justice reversed – Like Justice, only reversed.  This one is about as hard to read as Strength.

Leo:  4 of Wands – Country life, haven of refuge, a species of domestic harvest-home, repose, concord, harmony, prosperity, peace.

Virgo:  2 of Cups – Love, passion, friendship, affinity, union, concord, sympathy

Libra:  The Sun – Material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment.

Scorpio:  The Tower reversed – Bad.  Very, very bad.

Sagittarius:  3 of Swords reversed – Mental alienation, error, loss, distraction, disorder, confusion.

Capricorn:  Knight of Coins – Utility, serviceableness, interest, responsibility, rectitude

Aquarius:  Strength – Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity, complete success, honors.

Pisces:  4 of Swords reversed – Wise administration, circumspection, economy, avarice, precaution, testament.

Aries:  8 of Swords –  Bad news, violent chagrin, crisis, censure, power in trammels, conflict, calumny, sickness

Taurus:  2 of Coins – Gaiety, recreation, news and messages in writing, obstacles, agitation, trouble, embroilment

Gemini:  9 of Cups reversed – Truth, loyalty, liberty, mistakes, imperfections

    She’s getting so big!

Great pics, NA! Highlight of the week.

    • Not Adahn

Unfortunately she seems to be a bit of a bully towards smaller dogs.

      • Ask your doctor if BEAM is right for you

Ah. You might wanna nip that in the bud, before it causes problems with the neighbours etc.

      • Tundra

That’s the challenge with the dog park. Once you get her into obedience classes, that should improve.

      • Chafed

Completely agree. Also, if another dog “fights” back she will learn a valuable lesson.

  2. PieInTheSky

I only expect the worse anyways

    • Sean

      That’s the spirit!

“Libra: The Sun – Material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment.”

    *happy dance*

  4. Gender Traitor

How can my horoscope (Scorpio) be so bad and TT’s (Aquarius) be so good? 🙁

    • Ask your doctor if BEAM is right for you

      QUIET, YOU!

  5. DEG

    Nice pictures.

Country life, haven of refuge, a species of domestic harvest-home, repose, concord, harmony, prosperity, peace.

    ??!?!?!!?!

    • DEG

      Not bad.

      #5 looks a bit crazy.

I like #7. It’s a shame we can’t see iChive galleries anymore. No, I’m not going to subscribe to her OnlyFans.

A couple of GlibFit entries too.

  6. Grumbletarian

Scorpio: The Tower reversed – Bad. Very, very bad.

    Well, duh.

  7. Timeloose

Based on my horoscope I’m getting lucky this weekend.

Here are some True Sounds of Liberty.

    Abolish the Government!!

Wow. Great!! I have soft spot for the 5th dimension.

      Nice.

    Carpentry glibs:

Is locust good for anything? I’m removing a skinny straight locust tree (6″ diameter, 15′ high) to make room for the fence and am wondering if I should cut it into easy-to-carry off chunks, or if I should salvage as much length as I can and let it dry out in the garage.

    • PieInTheSky

      bonfire ?

    • Suthenboy

Locust is the primary wood that Injuns made their bows from. Other than that I got nuthin. Whatever you do, dont burn it. It will stink the place up so bad you won’t be able to stand it. Also, never try to cook a squirrel in your wife’s kitchen if that squirrel has been eating locust beans….not if. you want to stay married.

The only other use I know of for locust is railroad ties.

    • PieInTheSky

unrelated I think that is the genus of tree that makes the most liked honey for Romanians.

    • BakedPenguin

If BEAM’s link is correct, it might be the perfect wood for you:

Common Uses: Fence posts, boatbuilding, flooring, furniture, mine timbers, railroad ties, turned objects, and veneer.

I don’t know if that would be classified as symmetry or irony.

    • Ownbestenemy

The deglaze with the apple moonshine had me sold.

    • Old Man With Candy

      That fucker can cook.

  9. Suthenboy

Young dog, leather chair. I see sorrow in your future.

      • Not Adahn

        “Bonded Leather”

      • Ask your doctor if BEAM is right for you

        Bonded?

        Not for long.  ;-)

  10. BakedPenguin

Country life, haven of refuge, a species of domestic harvest-home, repose, concord, harmony, prosperity, peace.

    That sounds pleasant.

  11. Suthenboy

Ok, I dragged my ass to the store. We were out of dog food and that just cant happen. There will be riots and fires if we run out of dog food. Ribs are on the grill and my ass is holding down a chair and my hand is holding up a vodka. *whew*
My neighbors are sick as dogs, probably with the cooties so we are grilling an extra rack of ribs which I will deliver in a little while along with the world’s best potato salad. That should save them the grief of having to cook while they are miserable. That is all of the work and good deeds for me today.

    • egould310

You’re a good dude, Suthen. Happy Independence Day!!

      • egould310

My hand is also holding up a vodka. *Cheers!*

      • Suthenboy

Thank you Sir. I try to make the world a little bit better place when I can. There is more than enough awfulness going around without me adding to it.

      • BakedPenguin

What egould said. Also, if you want to pass on that potato salad recipe, I doubt anyone here would mind. Might even make its’ own post, if SP agrees.

      • Suthenboy

Let me ask Mrs. Suthenboy. The recipe is from my sister-in-law. She taught my wife but not me. Give me a minute.

      • egould310

        Good call, Beep.

  12. Suthenboy

    Potato salad recipe:

Boiled 1-1/2 lbs ruby red potatoes boiled with a little salt and a cap full of zatarains crab boil. Pour the water off when potatoes are soft. Boil 3 eggs. Let them cool a bit. Peel the potatoes, the skin slips right off if they are cooked first. Mash eggs and potatoes together. Add some sweet and dill pickle relish…more pickles are better. Add in a dash of garlic, a dash of Tony Chachere’s

Add in a dash of paprika and parsley, a big glop of mayonnaise, a couple of squirts of yellow mustard, or cajun mustard if you have it. If you really like onion you can add a bit of chopped onion (we dont, the salad in our opinion is better without it)
Add in a dash of cayenne…half of a teaspoon or so…if you like spicy.

*Be careful not to add too much mayo. Add a little less than you think you need and add more if needed.

    • Suthenboy

I think that is it. She was talking faster than I could type.

      • Suthenboy

Apparently that is not it. She forgot to tell me about pimentos. Chop some of those up and mix them in. One small jar she tells me.

      • Suthenboy

If I were whipping this up I would add some crumbled bacon…but that’s just me.
It turns out that this recipe has lots of delicate layers of flavor and I have been known to eat just the potato salad for a meal.

    • BakedPenguin

Thank you, Suthen. Good potato salad is a gift from God.

  13. hayeksplosives

I’m gonna make some ponzu salmon with rice cakes on the side.

The gentleman of the house will be grilling steak later.

    USA!

    • UnCivilServant

I had to curtail all of my plans because I fell sick yesterday and am still sick.

I have to force myself to eat because I really don’t feel like it, but not eating for days will be worse than nibbling. Nothing has come back up, but I haven’t got an appetite. I also don’t have any energy, and am dizzy from time to time. At least the acid reflux has subsided.

      • Ted S.

        It’s obviously Covid.

        Or maybe a toomah.

      • Suthenboy

From his description I am fairly certain my neighbor has either the flu or the cootie bugs. In a bit I am going to deliver some food to him and his wife. I will make a little cross with my fingers and hiss as I hand him the food.

I wish you a speedy recovery Uncivil.

      • Gender Traitor

I’m so sorry to hear you’re sick!

It’s the sun poisoning finally setting in, isn’t it? 🙁 Hope you feel better ASAP!

    • Suthenboy

You mentioned fish and cakes. That makes me pine for some fish cakes. Fish cakes with roumalade. Yum.
