IFLA: The “Double the Number” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of Nov 21

by | Nov 21, 2021 | IFLA | 46 comments

Hello Newfriend!

I hope everyone had an excellent Beaver Moon and has been able to recover from it.  Right now, that moon is waning and in Gemini, so that is a bad sign if you were wanting a week full of honesty and dependable people.  For those of us with coworkers, our expectations will be more reasonable and astrologically appropriate.  Midweek centers around domestic affairs.  Wednesday sees Venus and the Moon come into alignment, so with both of those being water signs, it’s reasonable to include that houseboats will play a prominent role in happenings.  Or your house may be flooded.  The stars are mysterious.  However because the very next day sees the Sun and Mercury come into play, it’s unlikely that the flooding incident would have happened the day before… although it would fit if the people who came by to drain/dry/repair the place included a true hottie.  But they’d have to be like really hot.  A more horses-not-zebras interpretation involves Joe Manchin having a press event that day.  We’ll see.  Scorpio, enjoy being Big Sign in the Zodiac, because it’s ending soon.  Capricorn, enjoy the chill. Sagittarius, get ready to whine about Scorpio.

She always wins three way contests out of sheer unwillingness to give up.

Scorpio:  Ace of Swords reversed – Great vengeance and furious anger, and not in a good way.

Sagittarius:  5 of Swords reversed – a really bad time.

Capricorn:  The High Priestess reversed – Passion, moral or physical ardor, conceit, surface knowledge.

Aquarius:  The Hierophant reversed – Didn’t we have this draw last week?  You should have paid attention.

Pisces:  Page of Swords reversed – That little pissant can in fact harm you.

Aries:  Queen of Cups – The womanlinest of all the cards, also intelligence, the gift of vision, success, happiness, pleasure, wisdom, virtue.

Taurus:  8 of Coins reversed – Voided ambition, vanity, cupidity, exaction, usury, skill turned to nefarious ends.

Gemini: The Lovers – There are two naked people on this card.  What do you think?

Cancer:  The Magician reversed – Physician, Magus, mental disease, disgrace, disquiet.

Leo:  Ace of Wands – Boner pills will not be required.

Virgo:  The Fool – Derp.  Also folly, mania, extravagance, intoxication, delirium, frenzy, bewrayment

Libra:  10 of Coins reversed – Chance, fatality, loss, robbery, games of hazard, gift, dowry, pension.

Be careful, given the rest of the horoscope.

      • Ozymandias

Hmmmm…maybe I should go back to playing with the cage on.
There is a chance we could get robbed by the refs and lose.
Dowry – Hmph. Nice reminder – deposit for daughter’s wedding venue is due this week.

Sagittarius: 5 of Swords reversed – a really bad time.

    Yay.

  6. Gender Traitor

Great vengeance and furious anger, and not in a good way.

Am I angry, or is someone angry at me?

  7. Q Continuum

Sounds like Gemini and Leo need to get together this week.

“Boner pills will not be required.”

Many not required, desired on the other hand…

Aquarius: The Hierophant reversed – Didn’t we have this draw last week? You should have paid attention.

I missed it. Had a good week so I will assume its good.

Thumbs up from a fellow Aquarian!

    JFC humanity is broken.

“Numerous” dead bodies are stuck on cargo ships because countries are too afraid of Covid to let them come ashore

    • Gustave Lytton

has caused people to do a lot of crazy things, but “refusing to allow human remains to be taken care of with timely dignity” may be at the top of the stupidity list

Agreed. Leaving the body in a freezer for period, let alone for six months or longer, instead of immediately burying at sea would strike most people, up until very recently, as batshit insane.

  12. Ted S.

Gemini: The Lovers – There are two naked people on this card. What do you think?

This doesn’t mean I have to get nekkid with one of you lot, does it?

    • rhywun

Mine is the complete opposite of me.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

        No motivational quotes for you?

      • rhywun

        Um, no.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

        Quelle surprise.

    • Zwak, sensual panzer

Maybe it’s the translation from English to English, but off enough to feel like the uncanny valley.

OT and old but this is the first time I’ve seen it – “No Asians” in a real estate ad – https://youtu.be/3Lyex2tSUyA

    • Jerms

Never saw that that was funny. In the neighborhood I grew up in in Brooklyn the Italians would give you a lot of shit if they heard you sold your house to Chinese family. Now where there used to be Italian salumerias the business signs are in Chinese and there are ducks hanging in the windows.

      • rhywun

In my neighborhood the signs are in Arabic and there are lamb carcasses hanging in the windows.

  14. Nephilium

/sitting at home watching the Browns-Lions game

Holy shit… this is a dumpster fire. Each team has an interception already.

    • Dr. Fronkensteen

Not able to get them locally. I’m watching Bears and Ravens. Surprisingly no score yet from The Ravens. Unsurprisingly no score yet from the Bears.

      • Nephilium

It’s got to be good to have Lamar Jackson out.

Mayfield hasn’t been sacked yet, and the Browns just scored a TD. Personally, I would have benched Mayfield to let him spend the week healing.

    • Ted S.

To be fair, both the Browns and Loins are historically dumpster fires.

      • R.J.

That would be a great official name change. “The Loins,” and the team logo is a big “Y” with hair on it.

      • Nephilium

My high school team was the Lions, and the school “fight” song was The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

I don’t think the school really understood the concept of a fight song.

      • Ted S.

Our mascot was the Tigers, so we had to put up with Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger”.

    • rhywun

      Just one?

      /lives in Jets territory

  15. Name's BEAM. James BEAM.

Gemini: The Lovers – There are two naked people on this card. What do you think?

    Now we’re talkin’! ”Honey, it’s Sunday afternoon . . . “

  16. Nephilium

I think the Browns may have more yards in defensive penalties than passing.

  17. Q Continuum

You know who else wins three way contests?

    • Ted S.

      The divorce lawyer?

      • Ozymandias

        golf clap

    • Dr. Fronkensteen

The guy in a MFF three-way?

  18. juris imprudent

The womanlinest of all the cards, also intelligence, the gift of vision, success, happiness, pleasure, wisdom, virtue.

And here I am mediating another fallout between my son and his mother.

Oh and the trailer is safely parked in our big outbuilding and [hopefully] the last little traces of water drained from the lines. We were on the road when a friend called and told us about the Rittenhouse verdict. What is the opposite of gnashing of teeth, because there must have been a lot of that going on in these parts.
