IFLA: The November Rain Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of November 7

by | Nov 7, 2021 | IFLA | 89 comments

Charisma (n) – see above

This week’s upcoming events center around domestic life and general life  improvements.  I’ll give you time to get over that shock.  Sometime in the Monday-Tuesday range, there will be a moon-Venus event that translates to “love brings change to the home.”  That sounds pretty good… unless your partner has recently taken out a life insurance policy and/or has been spending a lot of time at the gym or with a “life coach.”  But if you live until Wednesday without anything bad happening, you’re probably fine for the rest of the week.  Thursday sees Mars getting involved, being generally good for Men and even better for those engaged in manly or violent pursuits.  Mars is kind of odd — being the representation of war, warriors, weapons and iron and yet being in direct opposition to Vulcan who makes weapons and works iron.  Friday is the absolute best time to have a blind date.  Or have a date, and then use a blindfold afterwards.  I won’t judge.  I might critique if you put the video on the internet, but that’s completely different.

It’s so hard to get an action shot of her

This week is excellent for Scorpio, in almost all aspects of life.  Almost.  Second dates will be harder to come by, but first ones will be easier.  Commitments will be difficult to keep.  Capricorns should be lucky in love, as will older people and yacht owners.  Honestly I didn’t know that yacht owners were ever NOT lucky in love, though maybe it refers to less gold-digger bycatch?  I honestly remember very little of my marine astrology.

A little rain never hurt anyone

I don’t want to be Gemini this week. Can I change my sign?

    • Not Adahn

I’m sure someone out there will insist that trans-Capricorns are valid, stunning and brave.

      • Nephilium

I figured it would be transtrology.

    • Ghostpatzer

I’m ignoring the Gemini forecast, hoping that it is as accurate as political polls. Instead I’ll go with this:

Thursday sees Mars getting involved, being generally good for Men and even better for those engaged in manly or violent pursuits.

Will endeavor to play more chess, the manliest of games.

    • Ted S.

We Geminis are all going to get covid!

  2. l0b0t

“Sagittarius: The Empress reversed – Light, truth, the unravelling of involved matters, public rejoicings, vacillation.”

    AMEN!

    • Ownbestenemy

      Absolutely.

  3. Tundra

She does clean up nice! And so happy!

    Dogs are better than stars.

    • Chafed

      Dogs are the stars.

      • slumbrew

        You cannot be sirius.

        I’ll see myself out.

Gemini: 8 of Swords – Bad news, violent chagrin, crisis, censure, power in trammels, conflict, calumny, sickness.

    Jay-zuz.  ?

    • The coolest vaccine-free BEAM in the world™

Although I did just have a friend report that she recently contracted COVID (“proven” by PCR test via Alberta Health). She’s fine, and is now more determined than ever to not get any of the vaccines.

  5. DEG

I’d say Lily’s charisma is what… 18? RE: the alt-text: Strangely despite the cold weather, the grass here is still green. Part of my yard work will be to mow the yard the last time for the year.

That sounds pretty good… unless your partner has recently taken out a life insurance policy and/or has been spending a lot of time at the gym or with a “life coach.”

I have no girlfriend. I no longer have life insurance, it’s not a benefit at my new company and I see no need to get it on my own. I’ve been spending a lot of time at the gym, but not with a life coach. I guess this is all meaningful as this relation.

Honestly I didn’t know that yacht owners were ever NOT lucky in love, though maybe it refers to less gold-digger bycatch?

    Heh.

Voided ambition, vanity, cupidity, exaction, usury. Also skill turned to nefarious ends.

    Sufficiently shitty.

  6. Sean

“Degradation, destruction, revocation, infamy, dishonor, loss.”

Do I have to pay extra for that?

    • The coolest vaccine-free BEAM in the world™

Meh. Twenty bucks, same as downtown.

  7. Mojeaux

    Taurus [blah blah blah] discovery.

Hoping to discover where my embroidery bag went in the move.

  8. Not Adahn

She’s nine months old now, and I guess is growing into the guard dog part of her personality.

It can be annoying when she decides she’d rather guard a toy than play with it. And she’s started announcing her presence and claim to our territory with great enthusiasm. I like her bark, I don’t know if my neighbors agree.

    • Tundra

Keep an eye on the guarding. That can go sideways pretty fast. Maybe practice with her by taking stuff away.

    • Ted S.

Yeah, my husky has a thing about guarding not only his food, but guarding Dad on those days Dad makes dinner. I have to go around the kitchen to get into the nook.

  9. Ozymandias

Libra: 7 of Coins – money, business, barter, altercation, quarrels, innocence, ingenuity, purgation.

Hmmmm… quite a full menu right there.
Could be worse – I’ll work with it.

    • Ozymandias

Oh, also, if someone has a TPTB sighting, I submitted the article that is an edited version of our PI Motion on the Clot-Shot.
It’s titled “DORM 8 – The fraud of it all.”

  10. Tulip

Poor Babs is having tummy trouble again. Started a prescription yesterday evening, let’s hope it takes care of it, but it hasn’t so far.

    • Ghostpatzer

      *sigh*

Best wishes for the old doggie.

    • Tres Cool

I feel your pain. The Dozer was outside grazin’ in the grass.
I switched up his canned food Sunday “treat” mixed with dry food, and evidently Pedigree doesn’t sit well with sensitive boxer stomachs.
Puking will no doubt happen soon.

    • Chafed

Sorry Tulip. I hope Babs feels better.

    • DEG

Sorry. I hope she gets well soon.

    Psalm of the day

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. The Lord bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! May you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Israel!

    Psalm 128

    • Tundra

That’s a good one. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the next phases of life and I do really hope to see my children’s children.

      Thanks, Trashy!

      • Drake

That’s all that really matters to now.

      • Drake

        Me

    • Ghostpatzer

Good one, and thanks. I loved singing this one in the before times.

    • Yusef drives a Kia

Been there, done that, I had a good Life, Thanks trashy!

  12. Rebel Scum

    Great joy, happiness, feasting.

    That can’t be right.

    • Tres Cool

Well, I am about to put a brisket in.

  14. rhywun

Have a steaming pile of “sports writing”.

TW: Everyone in the NFL not named Aaron Rodgers is pissed that Aaron Rodgers didn’t “follow the rules”.

If I were him I would just take my fuck-you money, buy a Caribbean island to retire on, and tell all of them to piss off.

    • Ted S.

Yeah, the caterwauling about Rodgers on the Packer boards I frequent has made me frequent them a lot less.

I remember posting this story about the possibility of an outbreak among vaccinated players, because, obviously, it’s already happened, and was told that was just a bunch of isolated cases, not an outbreak. It’s obviously only an outbreak if you can blame the unvaccinated person.

More seriously, I think the Yankees outbreak from May really shows how shoddy the testing is, but don’t try arguing that either.

    • Chafed

And yet, he didn’t create a superspreader event. I wonder if being around young healthy athletes has something to do with it.

    • hayeksplosives

Now that Rodgers has a documented case of the snifflecooties, how can they possibly require him to get the vaccine when he returns?

This will be an interesting one to watch.

I like that he said he followed all the Covid protocols to a T “except for the one that makes no sense”, I.e., the mask mandate.

Even as a Bears fan, I’m on Rodgers side this time.

      • Urthona

That undermined him as well. “I followed the rules except where you caught me”.

    • Urthona

It would help if these “conservative heroes” weren’t complete idiots though. The new age bullshit he took from his girlfriend and some of the other stuff he said is pretty embarrassing.

      • Ted S.

        I don’t think Rodgers is a conservative.

    • Ted S.

Too bad they can’t spell “seized” correctly.

      • Sean

        It’s the Australian spelling.

      • Tres Cool

        Like tyre ?

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

Every time I think I’m having a bad day, I just say “Australia.”

    • l0b0t

I can’t believe the country that gave us this has been reduced to such a state.

        “Housos” was a good show.

    • Chafed

      With a rusty spoon.

    • Suthenboy

The Fauci virus was around while Trump was still president and we didn’t have these problems. The problems started with and ends with the left’s Tyranny, plain and simple. This dumpster fire is deliberate and calculated to have exactly the effects we are seeing.

“If Socialism were to take over North Africa, in less than a year they would have a shortage of sand.” – Old Soviet Joke.

      • hayeksplosives

        Old Soviet joke

That would be news to Milton Friedman.

      • Suthenboy

He told that one? He probably got it from them. The Russians had been telling that one since the 1920’s. The Soviet citizens had a million snarky jokes like that.

    • rhywun

“Millions more have had to be quarantined”

      No, they didn’t.

  15. Aloysious

    Puppies!

Scorpio: 8 of Wands reversed – Jealousy, internal dispute, stingings of conscience, quarrels.

My internal dispute is a sinus infection. Blah.

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

      Parkour!

    • Sean

      ?

    • Mojeaux

Um … that would be mine.

      • Chafed

        I feel your pain.

    • slumbrew

      Russia stronk, I assume. JFC.

    • Tundra

As awesome as that is, my anxiety level just pegged hard right.

  16. Scruffy Nerfherder

Things I’ve noticed since switching to more private browsing and clearing cookies on every exit.

Youtube’s general suggestions for unidentified visitors cater to the functionally retarded.

  18. Ownbestenemy

How would your views be if the mandates were an act of Congress? Or even State congress?

    • Tundra

The same. My health is my business.

      • Rebel Scum

        ^

    • Ghostpatzer

Wouldn’t change a thing. I’m not qualified WRT to legality as are many here, but a wrong is not made right because it is endorsed by the “proper” jurisdiction. Most if not all historical atrocities were legal at the time they took place.

    • rhywun

If Congress or any of the state houses thought they could get away with it, all of them would have already done so.

  19. Tundra

My wife is baking banana bread. The house smells like carb heaven.

    • Not Adahn

      The pearled barley gates?

  20. Not Adahn

Passed by some riders on horseback on the way to the park. Lily was expressive in her displeasure of the beasts.
