A mixture of signs this week, leaning towards the unsettled side. The conjunction of Mars and Venus is still present, but breaking up. They always do that. Deciding to hook up in the same house as Saturn is always a bad idea. At the same time, we get a Sol – Mercury Saturn alignment which is generally a sign of bad luck, bad news, news of endings, and cumulative neurotoxins. A bright spot is on Wednesday, when we get a maximum of a conjunction of Jupiter and Mercury (Mercury gets around) which is the opposite of a Mercury-Saturn interaction. In this case, it’s good luck good news, changes for the better, news of rulers and governments, chaos moving towards order — though that last one can also be read as a conflict sign, which ties into the second part of our astrological observations which we’ll get to after the pic of Lily standing solemnly in the snow-covered woods as seen below:
So back to conflict signs. This week the moon starts off in Libra which has traditionally been seen as an unstable confrontation between stability and change. There is an increasingly popular school of though which interprets this combination as being all about feminine energy, but the members of that school also believe in the astrological significance of the outer planets, the freaking asteroids, and of course the black moon Lilith. So you know they’re a bunch of charlatans. And they drink too much. The rest remains the same as last week.
Pisces: Knight of Swords reversed – Imprudence, incapacity, extravagance.
Aries: King of Coins reversed – Vice, weakness, ugliness, perversity, corruption, peril.
Taurus: Page of Wands reversed – Anecdotes, announcements, evil news, indecision, instability.
Gemini: The Hermit reversed – Concealment, disguise, policy, fear, unreasoned caution.
Cancer: 8 of Coins – Work, employment, commission, craftsmanship, skill in craft and business.
Leo: Ace of Wands – Creation, invention, enterprise, principle, beginning, source, birth, family, origin, penis.
Virgo: 10 of Cups – This card is a picture of a man with his arm around the waist of a woman, a couple of children playing nearby, with a rainbow and ten gold chalices. It’s a pretty good card.
Libra: The Sun reversed – Material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment, sunburn, growth of weeds, insomnia.
Scorpio: The Empress – Fruitfulness, action, initiative, length of days, the unknown, clandestine, difficulty, doubt, ignorance.
Sagittarius: The Hierophant – Marriage, alliance, captivity, servitude, mercy and goodness, inspiration.
Capricorn: Queen of Cups – Good, fair woman, loving intelligence, the gift of vision, success, happiness, pleasure, wisdom, virtue, a woman who is to become pregnant.
Aquarius: 6 of Swords – Journey by water, route, way, envoy, commissionary, expedient.
My dog is not one that loves the snow.
I pick up my dogs from the kennel this afternoon. It’s the best part of coming home from vacation.
No one says welcome home like a dog
Meh. Lily has too much Pyrenees in her for that. When I come home it’s more like “Finally! You can take me to the park now!”
Well isn’t that your job? She guards your house all day after all
Tulip gets it.
Leo: Ace of Wands – Creation, invention, enterprise, principle, beginning, source, birth, family, origin, penis.
family schmamily – Tom Brady
Cancer: 8 of Coins – Work, employment, commission, craftsmanship, skill in craft and business.

That’s pretty straightforward.
The planets’ orbits are elliptical.

I wish I understood a word of this.

Look, everybody’s got their faults.
I look at it more as a sign of impeccable taste.
I admit – it’s been a long time since I tuned in to NPR, but when did they switch to THAT business model??
This one’s been doing it since I moved here in 2011. They don’t call them “advertisers” though, they’re “underwriters.”
They’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember. While pretending to be non commercial. Same with PBS.
::suddenly imagines them running a “Real Men of Genius” ad for Biden::
I liked when they were “Real American Heroes” before 2001-09-11.

Do you really though?

I’m just rolling with the punches, man. Nothing else to be done with it.
Love the pic of Lily and her pal smiling at the camera. Just perfect!
Leo: Ace of Wands – Creation, invention, enterprise, principle, beginning, source, birth, family, origin, penis.
Huh. Should be an interesting week.
@NA, the first picture in the woods. Is that on your property? Because that looks like the idyllic winter scene.
That particular one is the dog park. My yard looks like that, but there’s not really an angle to get that kind of depth on the shot.
I like the first pic very much.
Alas, it’s mostly gone now and the ticks are out in full force. Two so far today.
Yay Lilly!
Gemini: The Hermit reversed – Concealment, disguise, policy, fear, unreasoned caution.
This explains my desire to get a fake moustache.
Wow. That explains a lot.

Unvaccinated Canadians are about 12 times more likely than those who received three doses to believe Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was justified, according to a new survey by national polling firm EKOS.
The poll found 26 per cent of those who identified as unvaccinated agreed the Russian invasion is justified, with another 35 per cent not offering an opinion. This compared to only two per cent of surveyed Canadians who said they had three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and who supported the attack, and four per cent who offered no view.
“vaccine refusers are much more sympathetic to Russia”
REFUSENIKS!
It’s almost like they’re actually polling for who is susceptible to government propaganda.
What’s they’re opinion about pineapple pizza?
*their opinion
I would love to know what the actual survey question was. It would be so easy to twist an anti-involvement option into “Putin’s invasion was justified” and then lie about it in the press.
Here’s the questionaiore.
Every answer is long and loaded.
I identify as being five and up and not Canadian by the Grace of God.
with another 35 per cent not offering an opinion.
Of course they’d lump people who have the humility to admit that they don’t know what’s going on into the pro-russia side…
TMITE indeed
You know who else had a distinctive flag with red and black?
Albania?
The Klingons?
Not the best horrorscope when one is on a cruise, tbh
Confession time: I not only don’t hate the tropics, I kind of like it here. The constant breeze makes up for the fine sheen of sweat & sunscreen.
However, SPF 50 is no match for the semi-equatorial sun.
Who are you and what have you done with @livingforwinter?
Srsly
Just keep applying the SPF 50. Most sweat off with surprisingly little sweat.
The Trades are nice and keep the tropics from being oppressive but when they fail it gets steamy fast.
Just hope there are no U-Boat crews that didn’t get the word about VE day. You are in their 1943 hunting grounds.
I not only don’t hate the tropics, I kind of like it here.
Word. The tropics are the most awesome. Ditch the spf 50 except for your face and arms. Embrace the vitamin D. Sunshine makes me happy. It makes everyone happy but most people have been conditioned to fear it. It is nothing to fear.
Okay, my bookshelves are now full. Mr. Mojeaux and XX got the last of our things out of storage and unfortunately, that included all our books. So pretty. *le sigh*
*unfortunately = They were the last of the things to come back into the house, and the things I cherish the most.
How many books do you have?
How many books do you have?
Well, how many??
Me, too many.
About 2 Ikea bookcases’ worth, but they are carefully curated. I’ll take pix when I get them all arranged artfully. (No, not by color.)
Fran Lebowitz Judges You Based on Your Bookshelf (2:34) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhb6iUu6DHw
My book selves are rather void of books. I read and pass on. I keep a few reference books, like rifle reloading. I still have about 8-10 unread stacked up but as I read them I’ll pass them along to others that will read or sell, I don’t care.
Happy to have grilling weather back.
Those porterhouses came out great. Grilled an ? too and put it on top a side salad.
?
I have bone broth from chicken thighs simmering away and am getting ready to make some mayo. High prices have moved me to think of tuna salad.
+ Schooner Tuna
What movie was that?
#we’reallinthistogether #let’sgoBrandon
Mr. Mom. c. 1980s, Michael Keaton, Terri (YUM!) Garr.
Interesting business model.
My tuna salad (cribbed from my bestie):
2 cans tuna, drained
lots and lots of grated extra-sharp cheddar
lots and lots of white onion, diced
3 hard-boiled eggs, diced
salt
black pepper
lots of parsley
lots of chili powder
lots of paprika
lots of cayenne pepper
enough mayo to make it stick together
combine well, let sit in the fridge for a couple of hours so the heat will develop
I just threw away my onions. I didn’t use them fast enough and neglected to replenish. Oh well. This tuna salad will be mayo, dijon, dill pickle, chicken and pork chop.
And eggs’s. A couple eggs’s.
AIGS.
I eat way more canned tuna than is probably good for me.
Lately:
1-2 cans of tuna, drained
A little mayo
2 tbsp. (per can) Wickles Original pickle relish. You can sub in some inferior pickle relish, but I don’t guarantee the results if you do…
I was just at the supermarket looking at that fancy avocado oil mayo I think it was Tundra recommended. $14.99 for a small jar. LOL pass. I’m not made of money.
I’m not at make my own stage yet either so I threw the giant tub of Hellman’s that was on sale into my cart.

Listening to government propaganda shrinks your brain.
The sun is out, warmish, and things have dried off. Time for me to get under the POS Envoy™ (with a beer) and find out what part of the front driveline/right wheel is clunking.
Doesn’t seem like a wheel bearing, cause it should have grenaded by now.

Don’t overlook engine mounts.

I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
Is there ever a right week to stop sniffing glue?
Are we out of wine?

So I should go ahead and apply for that new startup IT lead job? Sure sounds like it…
