This week starts off under the paired auspices of the Sun and Venus, so an excellent outlook for cohabitators. However, things start getting pretty crazy soon. Monday we see the moon team up with Mercury to being change, instability, chaos, unpredictability and higgledy-piggeldy to the world. Of particular note are that those planets are in Aquarius and Scorpio respectively, so we’ve got Secrets, secrets, secrets, things that are hidden, concealed knowledge, and things that can come back to bite you in the butt if you reach under a rock, plus a warning about not sticking your hands under rocks while drunk. The entertainment piles up more on Tuesday when Mars goes into retrograde motion. Now that has a variety of means (most of them horrible) but when we look at it in context and with a modern awareness, everything becomes clear. Because the day after the retrograde motion it is in alignment with Venus. Mar-Venus is a sign of wholeness, completion, War balanced with peace, Male with Female. But now, we see that male aspect retrograde. This undoubtedly means some important man will be announcing that they have switched gender and pronouns. It could also mean peace in Ukraine, but really it’s much more likely that the trans thing will happen. Horses, not zebras.

Welp, “vacillation” is on point for me right now. Sans drama, I just don’t know quite what to do with myself.
I just don’t know what to do with myself. – the White Stripes version?
Masturbation?
Sagittarius: 8 of Coins reversed – Voided ambition, vanity, cupidity, exaction, usury, a skillful or clever opponent.
Buy Powerball tickets?
Don’t bother, I’m winning.
This post in one hour early. I dont like it.
Cancer: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness. – screw ya buddy
Wow, I had enough Prospect pics to make it through five columns.
I have more pics of my dogs than my family – an order of magnitude more.
Sorry, fellow Leos. Looks like a bad week.
Harrumph! The bad week is what I choose to make of it. Although I do have to get on a plane to go home. I count that as imprisonment.
Safe travels, RJ!
Seconded. And yes, let’s make it a good one!
Thanks all! Car travel is my plan next year as I start to head North and visit you lot. Planes are depressing and lack adventure.
Flying is fast, but unpleasant.
Safe travels!
I finally watched “Sator”. I’m not sure what to make of that.
It was such a slow burn. I decided in the end that grandpa never died and just hung out in the woods killing people with his cult.
We probably crossed paths in the airport
It’s a sufficiently shitty week.
Sans drama, I just don’t know quite what to do with myself.
Kick back. Rest up for the next drama.
Three words: Pop. Corn.
Time for me to get a real job so I can once again join the ranks of the wage slaves.
Come on in,

Got some filets, and yes, I will be wrapping them with applewood smoked bacon.
Went into the safe for a full size pistol. *Side eyes the size queen*
WTF Universe? When we were first discussing Mr Nancy Pelosi I threw out to the Glibverse that the attacker would be a Castro District nudist protester as a joke. A joke and not a prediction. Now it appears that not only that is an important element of the truth, but not even the best part of the truth emerging.
I will take it a bit farther and predict that the North American Glibs will witness the full moon grow dim and appear to be swallowed by a red wave early on the morning of election day.
It’s gone from Biden’s mega-MAGA fantasies to possible hook-up gone wrong and the weekend isn’t even over yet.
You can’t just slough that off as a joke. You were in on it, weren’t you?
Just pulled a pair of little tri-trips from the grill.
Well put them back they are undercooked. And get a thermapen
Just shy of 130 when I pulled them. Topped them with butter.
Don’t listen to that sun-phobic Euro. Tri-tips should ALWAYS be removed from the heat a little underdone. Shoe leather is more appetizing than an overdone tri-tip and they go under to over done in a mere moment.
You can take a tritip to 202 if you nurse it and add fat as it cooks…but agreed…125-130 is max for normal cook
IT’S NOT A BRISKET!
Speaking of which, I’ll be putting one of those one very late tonight.
The only way a steak can be undercooked is if it isn’t cooked at all. #Rare4Life
No love for tartare?
I’ll take yours.
No.
I already knew your answer. 😉
I am a lifelong advocate of cooked food.
You’re always welcome, UCS
Me! I love tartare.
I call my meatloaf poor man’s tartare. Then, unfortunately, I bake it.
Successful whirlwind trip through the Carolinas complete.
A book recommendation. “The Last Days of the Dinosaurs” by Riley Black. The book examines the end of the Mesozoic world and the first million years of the dawn of the current world. The book does a good job of explaining how the K-T event ended the middle period of life and how the first steps of repopulating the planet occurred. The appendix and notes both do a good job of explaining how current science (2021) and speculation were blended in writing the chapters.
The only misstep is the Conclusion chapter. I fully get wanting to travel to put your hand on the boundary layer. I have wanted to do the same myself for decades. Putting your hand on any significant unconformity is pretty damn cool. Just knowing hundreds of millions of years is missing between the heel of your hand and your fingertips is cool. Putting your hand across that spring day ~66my ago that leads to you being here to think about it must be awesome. The author’s slip up trying to connect the K-T event and their two year process as a transsexual. Nope, I ain’t buying that.
But all in all, check it out from the library and give it a go.
I want my science without emotion. Especially without the “emotional journey” of whoever wrote it.
Give me facts, figures, even some speculation. Don’t give me your feelings. Put as bluntly as possible, I don’t care.
I don’t know if I have room in the reading queue for this one.
The rest of the book is solid. Just skip the few pages of conclusion and get to the appendix and notes.
It is a good read from the library.
Pisces: 8 of Swords – Bad news, violent chagrin, crisis, censure, power in trammels, conflict, calumny; also sickness.
Why’s everybody always picking on me
Yes! I started listening to my parents records when I was old enough to be trusted not to scratch them, and that song was a big favorite of mine.
They had a lot of good songs for a young man about town. Those were some exciting days for a 1 Score.
Third Sunday of September 2023 is 9/17.
We have already made reservations in Nisswa.
See you then.
Hidden enemies, danger, calumny, darkness, terror, deception, occult forces, error.
At least I won’t be in NJ this week.
My husband’s horoscope (Capricorn) is all good fortune and rainbows, and mine (Aries) is all deception and doom.
So I assume mine has to do with work and his has to do with playing the slots.
“Is that Gary Busey sitting with Robert Kraft?”
Jon Bon Jovi is not aging well.
