IFLA: The “Kubrickian” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of May 21

Emma gives up trying to play with those two and decides to get my attention instead.

This is a particularly good week for two types of people:  journalismists and infantrymen.

The former because of the enduring alignment of Mercury with Jupiter.  The second because of Mars entering Leo.  Back to that first part though, while the planets are great for those speaking troof for power, it’s also a generally good time for everyone else (ill wind and all that).  This is especially true in midweek when we get one of those big multiplanetary constructions that brings Venus along for the ride (the moon too) so that should be an excellent time for just about anything.  Sorry the reading is so brief, this week has been a wee bit busy.

Taurus: King of Cups –  Fair man, man of business, law, or divinity.

Gemini: 8 of Wands – Activity in undertakings, great haste, great hope, speed towards an end, generally, that which is on the move.

Cancer: Justice – Equity, rightness, probity, executive; triumph of the deserving side in law.

Leo: 7 of Swords – Design, attempt, wish, hope, confidence; also quarrelling, a plan that may fail, annoyance.

Virgo: Queen of Wands reversed – Opposition, jealousy, deceit, infidelity

Libra: The Sun – Material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment.

Scorpio: 10 of Wands –  Oppression, fortune, gain, any kind of success and then the oppression of these things. Also false-seeming, disguise, perfidy.

Sagittarius: The High Priestess – Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed, silence, tenacity, mystery, wisdom, science.

Capricorn: 10 of Cups reversed –  Repose of the false heart, indignation, violence.

Aquarius: 9 of Cups – Concord, contentment, physical bien-être; also victory, success, advantage.

Pisces: King of Wands reversed – Good but severe person, austere yet tolerant.

Aries: 10 of Coins reversed – Chance, fatality, loss, robbery, games of hazard; sometimes gift, dowry, pension.

Beans might not completely be in a playing mood, but Lily doesn’t care. [Editor’s note: we know this clip is audio-only. Website problems. Fingers crossed for successful upgrade Wednesday evening.]

Yeah, I’ve got a potential gig that I’ll be talking to the CEO about next week. So the opener is on point.

Failing plans and annoyance are just the baseline state.

Q: Why is the infantry the queen of battle?
A: Because it is always getting fuck by the artillery. (Self proclaimed king of battle)

      Q: Who wears green berets?
A: Burly chested freedom fighters- and Girl Scouts.

    Aw shit. Not that again.

It’s terrible how they wasted their minds.

Chicago beckons. A lifetime supply of anything costs less there than in Florida.

I shouldn’t have been surprised by that, but I was.

Under DeSantis, Florida has banned the teaching of critical race theory – which acknowledges systemic racism is a part of American history and challenges the beliefs that allowed it to flourish.

Actually, it encourages the types of beliefs that allowed it to flourish.

      • rhywun

And actually, it claims – without evidence – that “systemic racism” continues today. It is postmodern, nihilist claptrap that is deliberately intended to “smash the system”.

The NAACP can go fuck itself with this shit. Enough already.

        You may find this interesting:

As South Africa, So The World.

South Africa’s violent protests follow a consistent pattern. Sponsored by different factions using misappropriated public money, mobs are bussed in en masse, and supplied with food, water and free t-shirts. Fundamentally a method of pursuing internal party power struggles that can’t be fought in public (since one cannot criticise the party openly) irregular mob violence becomes the means through which competition for power is pursued. If you can mobilise more people, you have a greater democratic mandate. To force the old apartheid regime to the bargaining table, the ANC aimed to make the country ungovernable, and for a time, they largely succeeded. But it was a demon that couldn’t be recaged once loose. Everything is now a fight for spoils, all the way down.

        Sounds kind of familiar, no?

      • UnCivilServant

So, what you’re saying is “Kill all the organizers”?

      • Tundra

It’s probably too late. The useful idiots are autonomous.

      • UnCivilServant

Massacre enough of them, and they too will fall in line.

      • Tundra

It’s as if no one reads history. The commie shock troops are the first to die once power is established. Every single time.

      • UnCivilServant

You don’t turn out commie if you pay attention to history.

Rickey Henderson didn’t steal as many bases as these assclowns.

      • creech

Since we are told there is absolutely no intention of teaching CRT, why all the outrage at it not being allowed to be taught?

    • dbleagle

The progs on one hand say that the “replacement theory” is nothing but racist fear mongering. On the other hand we have the situation on the southern border and “discussions” like this at Bud (and many other companies) that are the revealed truth on replacement theory. Replacement isn’t necessarily racial, it is about replacing wrong thinkers with the current correct thinkers to be able to seize and maintain power.

      • R C Dean

“Replacement isn’t necessarily racial, it is about replacing wrong thinkers with the current correct thinkers”

The total lack of high-ranking adherents of CRT resigning so a POC can have their cushy job is telling.

“Diversity” has always been about LETELU. That’s why nobody cares when white people pretend to be POCs (which should be a cardinal sin – appropriation, colonization, white supremacy, you name the shibboleth, white people pretending to be POCs violates it). As you note, it’s not about racism, it’s about power and ideology.

Sagittarius: The High Priestess – Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed, silence, tenacity, mystery, wisdom, science.

So I can expect the Galileo treatment?

  9. The Late P Brooks

It’s probably too late. The useful idiots are autonomous.

I wonder if the foot soldiers of the revolution are capable of sustaining their momentum without the guidance of the theorists. I suspect they would rapidly devolve to random thuggery and looting.

    It’s an experiment worth trying.

“Sorry the reading is so brief”

No need to apologize; it’s a gift (and one I enjoy). I think TPTB are robbing you by scheduling the next post so quickly. Oh, look, it’s already up.

      Huh?
      Oh.
