Not pretty

NFL preseason games are a crime against humanity. There’s some good soccer this weekend. And I guess that’s about it for sports.

Take his passport. And tell him not to leave town. Because this motherfucker needs to face some serious criminal charges.

Well it’s about time. Nevermind. They won’t actually do anything.  A better solution would be to tell shop owners they can shoot looters on sight.

Stop this madness.

This person didn’t deserve to die. Because he never should have been there in the first place. (Note: I should not have assumed this person’s sex, gender, gender identity, or preferred pronouns.  If I have offended any IRS agents, I humb…oh never mind.)

::exaggerated jacking motion:: Fuck these people.

::exaggerated jacking motion:: Fuck these people.

Scumbag

::exaggerated jacking motion:: Fuck that guy.

This seems kind of sketchy. I’m no fan of the government prying into private business, but this probably warrants a looksie.

Yeah, no shit. But good luck making changes that will actually work. Unless you’re willing to fire ten thousand people..Which would be awesome.

I think this video might have been lip synced. Oh well. It’s awesome. And so is this one. Enjoy them both.

And enjoy this lovely Friday and weekend, dear friends.

HISD’s Mike Miles says district’s test scores call for dramatic changes
    dramatically more money

    • AlexinCT

Why is it that after years of throwing more money at this problem and results still heading in the negative direction that these people are not tar & feathered for saying the issue is that more money needs to be pissed away on a totally failed system?

      • WTF

Because telling the truth, that the best indicator of academic achievement is parental engagement, is not useful for their agenda.

      • AlexinCT

I just recently had this discussion with a mental case (proggie). When I pointed out that misdiagnosing a problem, by evil design or simply because of stupidity, means odds of solving it is near zero (sometimes you can just get lucky), left me wondering about intent, she got furious and accused me of emotional assault/abuse. But she had no argument to make back. Idiots like this know they will never fix whatever trope they are peddling, and it seems they don’t care, because it is always about grift, power, and being able to have the feels.

      • sloopyinca

This guy just got hired, so this isn’t some long term loser saying what needs to be said in order to keep his job. He’s already put in place a system that is a lot more merit-based and I think he’s gonna continue to get the support of the parents and be reviled by the likes of Randi Weingarten.

I hope he gets free rein for a couple years, because I think his plans have merit and are worth evaluation.

      • SDF-7

Because we’re all too nice to tar and feather anymore, apparently. I thought we would have pushed past the breaking point in several areas years ago.

Honestly, I think a lot of those in charge thought so too — that’s why they stopped pretending when they realized “No, they aren’t going to rise up against us. Well, fuck… NO CONSEQUENCES PARTY!!!!”

      • rhywun

        Because machine politics works.

    • WTF

The people running Maui better start explaining their actions.

“Well, we only meant to burn them out, we didn’t mean to kill them all!”

    • AlexinCT

They will explain nothing. The media will play goalie for the left. And they will get away with government mismanagement killing over 1000 people (wait till we get the final count)…

      • WTF

Yeah, 1,300 still unaccounted for and only a fraction of the burn area has been searched. The death toll is going to be much larger. Not sure how much play it will get in the media, though.

      • SDF-7

10 dead children is a tragedy…. 1000+ is a statistic. Unfortunate, but that’s my instinct here.

      • DrOtto

They’ll just announce the final numbers on the same day AZ indicts Trump. Then it’ll be all “Trump, Trump, Trump” by the media.

      • Pine_Tree

And even the victims’ families will continue to vote for more of the same.

    • rhywun

      That’s too unbelievable.

      Reserving judgement?

    • AlexinCT

This was only difficult to comprehend for idiots that believe assault rifles – what AR means, according to them – are a real thing.

      • EvilSheldon

Sure they’re a thing. I was out shooting my assault rifle last night. Also trying to tempt my friends into buying rifle silencers.

Did Jesse Jackson get a lifetime grifter award? Nobody was better at racial shakedowns.

    • sloopyinca

Sharpton is giving him a run for his money.

      • AlexinCT

That distinction still will go to white democrats. Nobody has grifted as much off fake racism like the honkeys pretending to get the vapors about raciss America..

      • Drake

Sharpton was always a bit too clownish to pull off the really big grifts like Jackson.

Travis is the primary air mobility hub for the west coast and Dover is the main east coast hub. TAFB flies C-5s, C-17’s, and tankers. Both sit near major rail lines and ports. If you can shut down the base to put a major crimp into flying stuff out of the US.

  5. The Other Kevin

Good morning! Todays the day we drive the youngest kid to college. About half way there.

    • AlexinCT

Safe trip bro… And don’t cry too much about that cost. Hopefully the kid is actually studying something that allows them to earn well enough to warrant the ridiculous cost of the experience.

      • The Other Kevin

She’s studying accounting for now. Hopefully she stays in the business department. But the cost isn’t bad, her birth mom is a disabled vet so the state pays her tuition. She took out 5k in loans for the year. We did pay $600 for one semester of books.

      • AlexinCT

Most important thing young people going to college should know is that you should do your best to get your money’s worth from the experience (learn as much as you can to develop a skillset that helps YOU make money). The second is that you better make enough money that whatever you have to pay back is not a life crushing problem that will never go away.

Sounds like your kid is in a good enough place where the income issue won’t be a problem and the debt won’t be onerously insane, so that is a big boon.

    • Tonio

      Congrats, TOK.

  6. SDF-7

Well it’s about time. Nevermind. They won’t actually do anything. A better solution would be to tell shop owners they can shoot looters on sight.

Given the DAs and their complete disinterest in prosecution even if the mall security or cops actually did their jobs — that’s pretty much what it would take at this point.

I know I keep harping on it… but I really can’t see any way for this to resolve when you’re at “The government has a monopoly on force to keep civil order. If the government ceases to honor its side of the contract, the communities will have to resume using force for their own protection and survival — at which point they will reasonably ask what the existing government is for.”

Or everyone will leave and we can just hope not enough congregate with their stupid ideas intact to spread this further (Ha!)

    • sloopyinca

What would keep these shop owners from not seeing anything? And to assume it was a shopper or perhaps even one of the looters who pulled the trigger?

“I’m sorry, officer. I was so scared I didn’t see who shot that looter. I wouldn’t even be able to give a description. Best of luck with your investigation.”
Repeat the process a couple dozen times and see what happens.

      • Rat on a train

“And our camera system had a failure at that moment.” Works for the government.

      • sloopyinca

Exactly. I doubt the cops would press the issue too hard. And it ain’t like one of the looters is gonna turn over their phone video, since it would implicate them.
It might be the only realistic way this gets slowed down.

      • slumbrew

“ since it would implicate them.”

You are far too optimistic. Their crimes would be ignored (“argle-bangle Economic Justice!”) and the book would be thrown at the owner.

The task force will include multiple Southern California law enforcement agencies, including the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, as well as the U.S. Marshals Apprehension Task Force and Federal Bureau of Investigation Apprehension Task Force, the LA Mayor’s Office said.

    TOP.MEN.

I expect nothing to come of it.

On the other hand, if you believe their goal is to control us and make us less independent, then it looks like a success.

    • Homple

“Detroit auto workers strike would cost US economy nearly $6 BILLION in just 10 days, study predicts as union prepares to vote on work stoppage”

$6 billion in 10 days works out to $219 billion per year. Is that real?

so that’s the revenue rate, and total revenues for them is total incomes for someone; doesn’t count productivity lost where the vehicles would have been used

but: deferred production is not lost production; the total units demanded and the total units produced are always in flux for most goods; indeed, pent-up demand for vehicles is probably in the millions, so, no telling when they can get around to building them, so, yes: a hit

worth noting: these kinds of frictions can lead to real losses and are exactly why the government should never meddle in markets by enforcing things like virus kabuki that destroys the good price signals the markets need to perform efficiently

        5.3 Vortec?

      • SDF-7

Nope, 3.8L V-6 non-turbo (that was in later years). FWD, transverse mounted.

If one can believe Wikipedia — apparently the LA1 series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_60%C2%B0_V6_engine

They’d had some issues with the 2000-2002 series (gaskets, iirc) but worked them out by ’03 with the exception of an intake manifold recall. Been a solid car all around, honestly.

      • SDF-7

Well, maybe not exactly… it talks about the LA1 all being the 3.4L (which is the non-SS engine for that year). But the 3.8L sure looks so close I can’t imagine it is that far off engine family wise….

      • ron73440

        That’s impressive.

My ’01 Dodge 2500 is up to 358,000.

I had a 2003 Tahoe that I would still have if the fucking salt hadn’t eaten it away.

        Absolutely bulletproof vehicle.

      • ron73440

Salt is a crime against humanity worse than the NFL preseason.

I had a 2000 Ram 2500 that I had to get rid of because it had terminal cancer from the salt.

My wife said I was in a bad relationship with that truck because of all the effort, time, and money I put into it before I finally threw in the towel and traded it for the one I have now.

      • The Last American Hero

Nonsense. I moved from a salt area to a sand area. Sand does jack shit.

      • The Gunslinger

Lol. I actually really like my 2006 GMC work truck. Very basic transportation, but only 97k miles and I picked it up for less than $5000 four years ago. It’s the regular cab, 2wd, long box,V6 version.

  11. rhywun

A better solution would be to tell shop owners they can shoot looters on sight.

Or at least charge them with terrorism. WTF else is it?

    • AlexinCT

The goal is the collapse of the existing social structure, so nothing that prevents that will be allowed. As I repeatedly have told people: team blue has criminalized and prosecutes bad thoughts and anyone daring to defend themselves, while completely ignoring real crimes and criminals, and it is by design.

  12. I. B. McGinty

“no one attempted to activate Maui’s 80-alarm all-hazard outdoor siren system”

Here in the south, sirens are made to alert people outdoors for an approaching tornado. You can’t hear them inside unless you are near one. If I was there on vacation and heard the siren I would have thought tsunami or incoming missle. If you have a siren system designed for multiple hazards, no one is going to know what to do when they are activated.

    • AlexinCT

I would say you just assume the government fucked up something and you are about to pay for it..

    • sloopyinca

But the natural reaction when you hear one would be to go outside and see what all the fuss is about. The wall of flames headed your way would probably be a good indication that you need to get the fuck out of dodge.

      • AlexinCT

        ^^^THIS^^^

The exception is when you are dealing with proggies… Their reaction might just end up being to stop and post to whatever social media they are on how climate change is behind the inferno heading their way…

      • juris imprudent

Quick selfie of me with that wall of flames backdrop!!

      • I. B. McGinty

If you hear the siren which you might not if you’re inside. If I smell smoke my first reaction is “someone’s burning something” and not a wildfire. Maybe this means I’ll be the first to die in a disaster. 🤔

I don’t know if Hawaii has this ability but here in Tennessee local emergency managers can activate the EAS and alert cell phones with a Civil Emergency Message or some other notification. Don’t know if they did something like this or not. This siren issue seems to me to be finger pointing over not doing something, even though that something probably wasn’t the best option to do in the first place. Admittedly I haven’t read much beyond the article above.

      • Fatty Bolger

If I smell smoke, I think the same thing. If I smell smoke and the alarms are blaring, I’m going to find out what the fuck is going on ASAP.

      • Fatty Bolger

Read this, it will explain it. The system was always meant as an all-hazard warning system. Any excuses for not using it are BS.

        https://www.mauisirens.com/

The all-hazard siren system can be used for a variety of both natural and human-caused events; including tsunamis, hurricanes, dam breaches, flooding, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, terrorist threats, hazardous material incidents, and more.

      • robc

This was my thought. If a warning siren goes off, my first thought is “well, I live on a volcano, thats probably it.” Tsunami would be a close 2nd. So, I would go outside and check to see if I need to run uphill or downhill.

Oh, look, fire, lets go away from that!

    • Fatty Bolger

The first thing they will do is check their phones or turn on the TV or radio to find out why the sirens are going. Which, by the way, is exactly what everybody is told to do when they hear them.

      • I. B. McGinty

Good info above. I’m not a fan of sirens regardless of the disaster. Getting people to do what you want them to do in an emergency seems to be like herding cats. Sure you’ll get a few of them but there will be ones that aren’t aware and didn’t take it upon themselves to find out what’s going on. At least they aren’t blaming climate change…yet.

    • Homple

The siren/loudspeakers in my area also send voice messages. I don’t know about Hawaii.

  13. SDF-7

Fuck the IC and the DC Establishment and their fucking bootlicking lackeys. Salt. The. Fucking. Earth. I know MTG can be a loon at times — but she’s apparently on track with this one, and I wish all the GOP Committees in the House would look at all this shit and put out a statement of “Given the rampant and probably criminal and unconstitutional methods, processes and events we’ve witnessed over the last several years — the House GOP is taking the stance that no government agency deserves funding by default at this time until our Weaponization of Government Committee concludes its investigation. If you seek funding, you must coordinate a meeting and justify your expenses and mission to this House.”

    Local NPR this morning:

Springfield MA is having more murders this year than in the previous 20. Obviously the Public Safety department is springing into action with lightning-fast reflexes!

    They are:

-Enacting common sense gun safety measures
-Cracking down on illegal gunz. Probably from Indiana, but they didn’t say.
-Making membership in community centers universal!
    -Letting schools stay open later!

And also the police are making excellent progress in solving these murders. In fact out of the two dozen incidents (well, unless there were more since the preparation of the news report) the popo have made arrests in eight of them!

If people knew there was a 2/3 chance they’d get away with murder, there’d be a lot more dead politicians.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the last day you can register for GlibsCruise October 2024 at the current guaranteed rates (you can still register after that, but rates tend to climb the closer you get to sailing).

Signing up doesn’t mean you’re locked into the cruise. If something goes sideways, you can cancel right up to July 2024.

Online registration and other information here. Suzanne can also get you additional discounts if you’re a veteran, etc.

(At this point, I can neither confirm nor deny that I’ll be giving impressions of the mating call of the Blue-Tongued Mango Frog. But there’s always a chance.)

    • Ownbestenemy

That is, the connected families of Congresscritters who will make bank when they order some federal buy-up of the property (security, noise, expansion, environmental).

    So, plain old Congress grift.

Hundreds of thousands of cans of SPAM are headed for Maui after Hormel Foods announced it was sending food and other resources to help those impacted by the deadly wildfires that devastated the region.

The Minnesota-based company announced Thursday that it’s sending more than 264,000 cans of SPAM to Maui, and designed a new t-shirt to raise money for relief efforts. For decades, SPAM has been popular among Hawaiians. According to Hormel, more than seven million cans of SPAM are consumed each year in Hawaii.

My kids and I love musubi and make it at home. Mrs. Holiness thinks it is a waste of rice and nori.

    • ron73440

Am I the only one that hates SPAM?

My wife loves it and she taught our kids to eat it.

      It’s disgusting.

      • UnCivilServant

It used to be good. Then they cut the salt content of the recipe.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Too salty, also bullshit Spam, AKA Treet, is better.

      • Pope Jimbo

I used to work with a gal who greu up in Austin (where they make it) and she couldn’t stand Spam. She claims the meat packing plant where they make it smells just like an open can of Spam.

Personally, I love it. Musubi or just about any other way.

      • Grumbletarian

I love it. I’m having Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam,, Spam, Spam, baked beans, Spam, Spam, Spam and Spam.

      • Fatty Bolger

Haven’t had it since I was a kid, and my Mom would occasionally get it and fry slices for breakfast or to make sandwiches. We didn’t love it, but I don’t remember it being gross or anything.

      • UnCivilServant

Mmmm… Grilled Spam and Cheese sandwiches.

Shame about Hormell ruining the formula

Now how about someone send some sriracha to Minnesoda?

Huy Fong Foods, a California-based company that produces the beloved Sriracha sauce, has been facing production issues due to a shortage in chili peppers. Local grocery stores in the Twin Cities have been struggling to stock the Huy Fong Foods-branded bottle, known best for having a rooster on the front. Many stores have been instantly selling out as they restock and have had to point customers to alternative brands instead.

Associated Press reported in July that some experts point to climate change, including drought, as the cause of Huy Fong’s chile pepper shortage.

On Amazon, a 28-ounce bottle currently costs $23.99. Typically, the large bottle goes for under $10 in grocery stores.

Mai Thao, a customer at Shuang Hur in St. Paul said she saw a bottle being sold online for $60. She prefers using an alternative.

      • R.J.

So… The town where the factory was set up in California hates the Sriracha sauce and has done many things to restrict their ability to grow peppers and process. The smell offends the sensitive liberal noses. Naturally that wouldn’t have anything to do with it, would it?

      • blighted_non_millenial

As soon as you open your car door on Avery Island, La, it smells like you are inside a Tabasco bottle. It’s glorious.

      • Ownbestenemy

Ill sell you some. I have a good stock of Sriracha in my house. The local plant in California was hammered by Covid, which I am guessing this isn’t going to talk about instead blame climate change.

Every other hot sauce somehow has its supply chain to chili peppers

      • Not Adahn

I thought Sriracha was vertically integrated.

      • Pope Jimbo

On our way back to Memphis from getting married in Korea, we stayed a few days in Chicago. We found some little shop that had bottles of Sambal Oelek on the table and my wife LOVED it. She made us eat at that shop for lunch every day.

Couldn’t find it anywhere back in Memphis, so – being the hopeless romantic that I am – I called the shop we ate at and talked them into sending me a couple bottles of it (this was back in the early ’90s there was no e-commerce). Definitely didn’t get coal in my stocking that year.

When sriracha came out, my wife liked it better (because it had garlic, which is like catnip to Koreans), so we switched.

I think we are pretty well stocked with sriracha now, but if we ran out we could switch to sambal oelek pretty easily.

      • Ownbestenemy

Sambal oelek, gochujang, sriracha…I can move between the three easily. We would be good friends holiness!

      • Pope Jimbo

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

It’s also relatively old tech and the Russians have a lot of frontline fighters that are more modern with pilots that are well trained and, now, experienced.

      • Ownbestenemy

She claims her husband would have supported her in this endeavor. Sure. Anything you say. Also, one of her kids knows what she is doing. Oh boy. And for the kicker, in that older article she claims OnlyFans isn’t porn because the men think they are having a relationship with the woman.

Despite its land grab, Flannery Associates has never made public what it intends to do with 52,000 acres of Solano County — an empire that is nearly double the size of the city of San Francisco. In the suit, Flannery only details the ways in which it won’t alter the land: It claims it told landowners that they could keep “existing income streams from wind energy and natural gas storage,” could “continue using these properties rent-free for decades,” and would receive “significant grants from Flannery for charitable giving, to be used at the [landowners’] discretion to support local schools and other non-profits.”

    Terrifying.

I’m no fan of the government prying into private business, but this probably warrants a looksie.

I remember when we were in a stupid dither because the Japanese were buying all our land. Then we were in a stupid dither because the Chinese were buying all our land.

What are they going to do, take it with them? This seems ideal, they give us money and all the land is still here. So no, no “looksie” needed at all.

    • UnCivilServant

They’re going to use it as an economic weapon, and as a base for espionage.

Neither corporations, governments, nor foreign citizens should hold any land.

      • Not Adahn

If the Japan analogy holds, they’e going to sell it back to us at a loss.

      • AlexinCT

Think asymmetrical warfare, which is the CCP’s military key strategy in any conflict with the US right now. If you buy some land near key US military facilities (like where key long range aircraft – bombers/tankers/recon/MPA – or such are staged from), doing commando raids against those facilities before hostilities becomes much easier to stage & accomplish. Shit, you can disable the entire B-2 fleet of aircraft with a 50cal sniper rifle by shooting them in the engines from a mile away as they taxi out. Then crash & burn…

Some 20 or 30 $5 dollar pieces of ammunition killed $60 billion of aircraft. Note that the same tactic can be used against Joe Biden’s F-15s sent out to attack all the people the corruptocracy labels as domestic terrorists.

      • UnCivilServant

I count that under Espionage, as it’s a form of sabotage.

I have yet to find Indian food that is even edible, but I am willing to stipulate that my survey has been limited in scope to potlucks and storebought premade material, so there exists the possibility of something agreeable.

Picked up 3.5 cases of ammo from my friendly FFL. And had a chat about WTF is happening next month.

For those of you who don’t know, NY is implementing a new set of 2A restrictions 9/13. There will need to be ammo and firearm background checks. For those of you who don’t live here, it’s no longer good enough for you to fill out a 4473 and submit to NICS. No, now the NY State Police will have to take your 4473 and run it through NICS instead of the FFL. And charge you $9 for their trouble.

My FFL still has not received any instructions as to how this is actually supposed to work, there is as of yet no interface between the FFL and NYSP.

    • UnCivilServant

Is this covered under any of the suits that are in flight, or will a new one be needed?

When do they set up the border checkpoint at vermont for people going across state lines to buy ammo?

Why would they need a border checkpoint? They’ll set up a license plate reader at VT gun shops.

    Meanwhile, in the Adirondacks

Smith lives in Saranac Lake, New York, another small town nestled inside the park’s vast boundaries, that now draws much of its vitality from outdoor recreation and tourism.

She said environmentalists like herself had to learn to balance their ambitious goals for the park’s wild lands with the needs of communities. That meant compromise and patience.

“I’ve been on the ledge,” Smith said, describing moments when sometimes it felt like the effort at finding common ground “is too difficult, this relationship is broken, this issue is too hard to face.”

People here say this work has been complicated by national forces tearing at America’s civil society.

The park’s small towns backed Donald Trump twice. Voters here have also given landslide victories to Congresswoman Elise Stefanik — a Trump ally who frequently amplifies conspiracy theories.

In other parts of the U.S., bitter divisions have shattered communities. But here many local government leaders like Gerry Delaney, who describes himself a Trump voter, have chosen to keep talking and negotiating.

    ——-

Former Gov. Pataki, the man widely credited with starting this process, says he believes that’s still possible but only with the kind of hard work of rebuilding trust that’s happened here.

“I still think the majority of the American people want practical solutions as opposed to partisan or ideological solutions,” Pataki said.

“But that’s not what the media is feeding us, that’s not what our political leadership is giving us and I think that has tragic consequences for the country.”

NPR story about decades long battle over land use in Adirondack Park. Naturally, they swoon over the “compromises” made to protect the pristine environment. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all in favor of rational compromise.

They make their obligatory slams about “Trump allies” but they never mention Governess Hokum, that well known agent of compromise. Read the whole thing. It sounds to me like a backhanded challenge to the radical environmentalist fringe to come in and stir things up before t’s too late.

    • UnCivilServant

The solution is to shoot the environmentalists, dissolve the park, and let the landowners use their land as they see fit.

    • Not Adahn

The “compromise” was — environmentalists get everything they want in exchange for increased tax dollars being spent in the area.

      • Not Adahn

This is the insurmountable mental barrier here — everyone, even conservatives, believes that the entire purpose of government is to spend money, and therefore the candidate that will spend more on you is the one you should vote for.

Alright WHO THE FUCK introduced it to the Old World? I hope the bastard rots in hell.

“in response to ongoing climate change”

        Oh, fuck off.

Who was pointing how how incredibly hard it is to convert office construction to residential? All the mechanicals, etc. are just wrong for it.

      • Tundra

Me, Scruffy and a bunch of others.

        Popcorn time!

      • R.J.

Not enough shitters and sinks. It’ll be like a European hostel. And absolutely nobody will live there.

      • John Nerfherder

Their only real option is to create huge lofts because of the plumbing issues.

        Should be entertaining

      • Pope Jimbo

You know if you were going to house the homeless bums there anyhow, why bother with plumbing upgrades?

The bums are used to living without crappers. Just let them live their authentic lives shitting and pissing where they feel like it.

      • R.J.

        Crap out the window.

In the elevators is more fun.. Makes for cool and interesting elevator rides…

Here’s a story with some reasons why it isn’t easy

What’s going on? One problem is simply with the shape of office buildings: Their deep floor plates mean it’s hard for natural light to reach most of the space once it’s divided up into rooms. Their utilities are centralized, which requires extensive work to bring plumbing and HVAC into new apartments. Either way, they require significant architectural intervention. The older stock of prewar offices, which are better suited for residential units, have often already been converted in cities like Chicago and Philadelphia. Another issue is with zoning codes that bar housing from office districts. A third obstacle is the building code: Early residential conversions, like those in SoHo’s lofts, were usually illegal, sometimes for complicated reasons that seem less important than mandating a window in every bedroom.

When Boy Mayor Jacob Frey was proposing conversions, some developer was quoted in the story as “it only works for luxury housing” or something like that. Meaning that the cost of converting big office buildings is so prohibitive that only richie riches can afford to buy.

    • SDF-7

If no one is working in the office / in the city… why would anyone want to live there anyway? Especially given the escalating crime, etc…

Admittedly, I’m biased as hell as I can barely stand small cities / towns. Living in NYC would be Dante’s 10th Circle as far as I’m concerned.

““Water is an earthly manifestation of a god,” he said. “That reverence for a resource, that reciprocity in relationship was something that was really, really important to our worldview and wellbeing.”

“We’ve become used to looking at water as something we use, and not necessarily something that we revere as that thing that gives us life,” he continued. “Let water connect us and not divide us. We can share it, but it requires true conversations about equity.””

And the decline of social norms continues.

The shift hasn’t been seamless with patrons of previously child-free establishments arguing that if a parent can afford a Michelin-star dinner, they can also afford a babysitter. Businesses have been more amenable to their new, younger patrons thanks to the rising demand.

Babies at Bars and Michelin-Star Restaurants? Not Everyone’s On Board

Most of us used to know what restaurants were and were not appropriate for young children. However, since we don’t know what a women is either this isn’t surprising.

You could just convert every other floor to plumbing and wiring runs.

“The Victoria Police have launched an internal investigation at the force’s Frankston station after learning that male officers have been “faking” a non-binary identity in order to take advantage of a bonus clothing allowance….

Under the force’s current civilian clothing scheme, male officers can claim up to $2,554 in clothing expenses, while “non-men” and women can claim $3,674.”

    Non-binary is bullshit.

Since former PepsiCo executive Tom Greco took over in April 2016, and especially the past few years, the retailer has been notable for struggling in a hot retail category. Its shares have lagged behind rivals O’Reilly Automotive and AutoZone by 300 and 270 percentage points, respectively, and have shed more than half of their value during his tenure.

They must have a really awesome executive development process at Pepsi. Look what a great job Scully did at Apple.

    • Pope Jimbo

To be fair, what is he supposed to do? He can’t set Michael Jackson on fire to generate buzz anymore.

Wait! That would be perfect. Get that Dylan Mulvaney spokesperson to shoot a commercial for you and then set her on fire. That would really generate some positive PR.

  43. Sensei

Holy shit. First time I’ve seen any pricing. I hope the more tame Dark Horse variants are more reasonable.

Starting at $140,000, the Dark Horse R comes with an invitation to compete in the new Mustang Challenge series, similar to the Porsche Cup. Honestly, I’ve done stupider things with my money.

      Wow.

If the exhaust volume switching is anything like in my Mustang, it doesn’t work unless the engine is at operating temperature. So no muting it when you start up to leave your house in the morning.

She should go after the people responsible, and upgrade to a real pistol.

Copycatting California? And they would never, under any circumstances, keep a copy for their records.

    • UnCivilServant

That’s only because the database hasn’t been built yet on account of not having been able to get the funds transferred from more vibile, vote-buying projects.

As I have said before, I just hope they make it into the hands of people who will drive them, and not just squirrel them away as an “investment”. Maybe the challenge series is Ford’s attempt to encourage that, but I find it highly improbable that there is anybody that smart anywhere near the top of Ford management.

“That sounds easy. What’s carburetor cleaner?”

  47. The Late P Brooks

Look I’d love to annoy one particular neighbor with a mostly unmuffled V8, but two other choices come to mind

The Cayman gets my vote because the motor is where it belongs.

    • Sensei

Yes, me too unless you need the space as more of a GT car.
