IFLA: The “It’s That Time Again” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of August 27

I have no idea how I was able to upload a video this long. Must be the MERCURY RETROGRADE zaniness.

Obviously, MERCURY RETROGRADE.  In fact the skies are going all sorts of backwards, we’ve got three Astrologically real planets going the wrong way, and if you listen to one of those hucksters who push the heresy that the outer planets are relevant, all three of them are moving retrograde as well.  So yeah, shit’s be weird yo.  Keep that in mind, the listed probabilities may not be an accurate reflection of reality this week.

The week starts off under the combined effects of MERCURY RETROGRADE and Saturn retrograde, but that latter problem drops off becoming inconsequential by Tuesday. Tuesday is a very bad day to have any sort of romantic plans with the moon and Venus retrograde maxing out that day. The moon later team up with MERCURY RETROGRADE for a day of Supreme Nonsense on Saturday, which is also the day I have a match, so that is going to suck.

That’s Troy not playing. Lily picks up lots of burs that I spend way too much time removing.

Virgo: Knight of Cups reversed – Trickery, artifice, subtlety, swindling, duplicity, fraud.

Daisy is one of the few dogs as strong as Lily, and with her getting a collar hold, it’s tough to break.

Anecdotes, announcements, evil news, indecision, instability

    Sounds about right.

  2. Tundra

    Troy knows he’s cool.

Leo: 7 of Cups reversed โ€“ Desire, will, determination, project.

    Let’s go!

      True.

His owners don’t bring him inside the park any more for whatever reason. But when they did, Troy would just stand there and accept the homage of the other dogs.

Sagittarius: Wheel of Fortune โ€“ Destiny, fortune, success, elevation, luck, felicity.

    Kneel before me.

Taurus: 3 of Coins reversed โ€“ Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

FFS. I’m too lazy for pettiness.

    • Not Adahn

Is laziness a weakness, or an aspect of mediocrity?

      • Mojeaux

        Possibly just simple fatigue.

  5. Gender Traitor

    Scorpio: The Empress

I think I’m just going to ignore the rest ‘cuz I can’t make heads nor tails of the mixed bag that follows. ๐Ÿ˜•

Conservation of energy is a good thing.

It’s not just a good idea, it’s the law!

A man of business and divinity, you say? ๐Ÿค”

    But not Tuesday. Got it.

    Dread and foreboding

When I asked Ken Martin, chair of the Minnesota DFL, if he was nervous about the implications of a third-party candidate, he said, โ€œYeah, I am actually worried about it.โ€

โ€œI saw this in โ€™16, unfortunately,โ€ he said, โ€œwhen people decided to vote for Jill Stein over arguably the most qualified person ever to run for president in this countryโ€™s history, in Hillary Clinton.โ€

Everyone has “Waltzed Across Texas” or Missouri/Kentucky/Tennessee Waltz but the “Back to Minnesoda Waltz” is definitely homespun.

      Back to Minnesoda Waltz

MINNESODA WALTZ. Old-Time, Waltz. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’.

Source for notated version: Al Sanderson (Washington) [Phillips]. Sanderson was remembered by guitarist and fiddler Harry Johnson (b. 1921), who had moved to Washington State in the early 1950’s, and who took up fiddle in 1968:

” Old Al Sanderson, he’s the guy got me started. I was selling real estate, and stopped in Kirkland one day, and I could hear a fiddle someplace. So I followed my nose, or ears, whatever you want to call it. And here was Al in the barbershop playing his fiddle, and a guy on the piano, and old Ralph Gillenwater on the old guitar. And Al didn’t know a lot of tunes, and after I got to know him I stopped in there every once in a while and I started humming tunes. He was from Minnesoda, a Norwegian, you know. I don’t know how in the heck he must have figured it out one time that I maybe had played a fiddle once. And he hands me his fiddle and says “You play.” And I didn’t know what to do with it, it sounds like the strings were still on the cat. But he talked me into it, and I didn’t even have a fiddle, and one day he had a fiddle, and he says “Here’s a fiddle for 25 bucks.” It wasn’t great, but anyway, he’s the guy that I have to give all the credit to.” (Northwest Fiddle Field Recordings) [1]

*Hands Ken Martin a bottle of Pepto Bismol.

      Ken: “What’s this?”

Me: “It will help with the gas. No, really dude, it is bothering us worse than it is bothering you. Go ahead, take a couple of swigs.”

    Nice dog videos.

    Desire, will, determination, project.

This could be sufficiently shitty. It could also not be sufficiently shitty.

Cancer: The Emperor โ€“ Stability, power, protection, realization, a great person, aid, reason, conviction, authority, will.

    I’ll take it.

Steaks are on the grill. ๐Ÿ‘

Later I’m grilling…cured ham loaf. It’s the only way to make this cheap shit edible.

I’m just glad to have the charcoal.

      • Ted S.

If you want cheap shit, get in touch with OMWC. He’s got a dog that will provide it in volume.

        Why do you hate Gaia?

      • Trigger Hippie

Pressed ham may be a better description if it makes it any better. As far as the charcoal goes, I do a lot more walking now so that offsets my carbon footprint or some such quasi-religous nonsense.

      • Not Adahn

“And you call this pressed ham even though it is obviously grilled.”
