Real or AI?

I ran a poem through the ChatGTP thingy recently and here are both the original and the gtp. Guess which is which.

Resolve

Resolved it were, to be obscure,

amidst the shredded grey,

as wind shakes my very van,

I look on in wonderment, and smile,

the days are short by design, and everything dies,

but for the season,

left to endure, as it was and is,

the storm is upon me,

again,

rain turns to ice and hail, pelting my face,

as I laugh, snapping away,

evil waves and mighty north winds,

yet I stand my ground,

barely

darkness fills today and the morrow,

what shadows cast are long,

and deep violet,

as cascades of necrotic colour awaits,

in the coming dark time,

the day yet exists, and thriving,

I shall use it,

searching for beauty in the barren,

collecting another vision,

living another dream,

as we begin the long night,

again,

And the next one.

Resolved it was, to dwell in shadows,

amidst the tattered shroud of gray,

as the wind rattles my feeble abode,

I gaze upon the desolation, and grin,

the days, intentionally brief, usher decay,

save for the fleeting season,

left to endure, as it has ever been,

the tempest engulfs me,

once more,

rain transmutes into ice, a hailstorm assaults,

mercilessly striking my visage,

malevolent waves and relentless northern gales,

yet I hold my stance,

just barely

darkness engulfs today and the next,

elongated shadows cast in hues of profound violet,

as torrents of necrotic colors loom,

in the impending gloom,

the day lingers on, relentless and thriving,

I shall exploit it,

seeking beauty in the desolate,

capturing another vision,

dwelling within another dream,

as we embark upon the protracted night,

once more,

I am impressed it did as well as it did with my word salad,

Cheers!

To First or not to First, that is never the question.

  2. Lackadaisical

The first one is yours I suppose.

I believe #1 is hand written on a used paper towel at the quick stop

#2 does not sound like the Yusef that I know

    I’d bet fifty cents

      I bet a mill.

    Have some OT NuWho stupidity.

This is new information to me – I didn’t realize the rot went back that far.

Way back in 2016, Moffet made it clear that the time-traveling show would be replacing white characters from history with black actors.

Now… part of me doesn’t give a shit. Let a brown and blind lesbian midget play Isaac Newton; I don’t give a fuck.

It’s the performative white guilt bullshit that pisses me off. Object, we dare you.

Meanwhile it was racist for a white guy to be the voice of Apu in the Simpsons.

#1 is AI and #2 is Yusef.

    AI is fucking dangerous,

I find it interesting that it imitates your ending of every line with a comma.

      • rhywun

LOL that is what hit me too – and I don’t know which one is which.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

        Interesting, I didn’t see that

      • hayeksplosives

It’s kinda creepy that the AI caught that and followed along, even though it’s not a normal punctuation style.

I mean, was it programmed to imitate punctuation? Or is that part of the unseen AI “learning” voodoo?

I wonder if it would imitate random word capitalization.

I hear they just arrested one of the guys from the Babylon Bee on misdemeanor charges from Jan 6.

Who thinks this is even plausibly OK… not the “he writes for the Bee” part…. but the 3 years later we are still spending millions chasing down and arresting anyone we can even tangentially connect go Jan 6 aspect.

I don’t know how you fight a banana republic when half the country enthusiastically approves of it. Migrate? Where??

FDR was a socialist, but he could deliver a good speech. He said during WWII,

Let not the defeatists tell us that it is too late. It will never be earlier. Tomorrow will be later than today.

Geert Wilders repeats that quote in his book “Marked for Death” in which he attempts to encourage the Dutch and other Western counties not to give up on rescuing their countries from what at first seems to be a one-way slide to the death of the native culture and its replacement by Islamification.

And, here, years later, the Dutch seem to be waking up.

So screw the defeatists. It’s not too late—yet.

JUST IN: Two rioters who were responsible for burning down the Wendy’s in Atlanta during the BLM riots have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit arson and two counts of first-degree arson.

    Their punishment?

Chisom Kingston and Natalie White will have to pay a $500 fine, 150 hours of community service and 5 years of probation.

For reference, this is the same Fulton County where Donald Trump was charged with 13 felony counts and facing a maximum of 76.5 years in prison.

In an incredibly shortsighted move by Sony and Discovery, Sony has lost the ability to “license” Discovery content on its platforms. This means hundreds of shows and movies that people “purchased” (read – bought thinking naively that they owned it) will be removed.

Can they get away with it? Sure. Sure. Is it wise for either party involved here? No, it’s shortsighted and stupid on so many levels.

You want to encourage piracy? This is how you encourage piracy. You want to scare people off of digital purchases? This is what the physical only movement has been crying would happen for years. You think those people you just screwed out of their content are going to re-purchase this crap? Fuck no.

But I guess it’s worth it when you are in a pissing match with another corporation to completely piss off your customers. Hollywood and corporations have completely forgotten that they need these people called customers to survive. Not the support of activists or politicians or other corporations or Black Rock. When people stop buying your shit, your ESG score wont’ save you.

    • Lackadaisical

How is this not a class action lawsuit waiting to happen?

      • Sean

        Lawyers need new Porsches too.

      • Brochettaward

I’m guessing it’s somewhere in the fine print no one reads that they can do this. The term “purchase” is also almost definitely for carefully selected by all digital content providers.

      • Lackadaisical

Yeah, but it sounds like false advertising, whatever the fine print says, there is a common definition of ‘purchase’ that would make this very misleading.

      • rhywun

It seems like every piece of software I’ve ever bought has the same language. “You don’t own this – we do.”

Now we’re seeing what that actually means in the world of “streaming”.

      • Ghostpatzer

Way back when, I subscribed to EMusic which at the time had an odd business model wherein you could actually buy music unencumbered by DRM. Pay up, download mp3’s, done. By the time they changed their model to be more in line with the rest of the industry I had downloaded 2500 or so titles which I still have and cannot be taken from me absent a ransomware attack. Those were the good old days.

      • rhywun

I used them for years. I use something called “soundike” now. I’m not sure of the legality of that place but it’s cheep.

    • rhywun

It’s almost like “streaming” has turned into the bait and switch that was obviously coming from the beginning.
