Greetings. Its a good enough day to use the .gif and forget to check the hide featured image box.
I spent the last week roaming around various national parks in the local area with my family. Carlsbad Caverns is really cool, but hiking over a mile downhill in an enormous cave starts to wear on your knees a bit, and thats before you get to the bottom, which is another mile or so if you walk around. Yes, they installed an elevator.
¡Enalces!
For those that still watch TOS videos: What a wonderful idea! With the best of intentions!
This story has weed and Mexicans, but I am afraid the subject is Catholic Nuns, where buttsex is strictly verbotten. Therefore this story is certified: TOO LOCAL.
Repatriation flights…I think its safe to assume I am paying to pretend this is happening.
When they say “my democracy” they really mean “my hegemony” – Michael Malice. But speaking of El Presidente Dudebro, he took a 2023 victory lap on TwiX
The Crown sends a ship to Guyana, while Venezuela holds military exercises. Anyone have Falkland War 2.0 on their 2024 bingo card?
I think its safe to say Milei is as entertaining as we wanted Bolsonaro to be, and lets be real…Bolsonaro was really entertaining. But as for Milei, while a real AnCap would be willing to trade with everyone, a real AnCap wouldn’t run for president either. Plus joining BRICS would sort of go against his campaign promise to “Dollarize” the Argentine economy.
We’ve descended into a mad world where metal bands start covering Garth Brooks…Happy New Year!
Thank you for the gif. It brightens my day.
De nada.
That was just what I needed today.
“I am afraid the subject is Catholic Nuns, where buttsex is strictly verbotten.”
It really depends on your browser settings.
I’m saving my fronthole for my lord, but everything is a go out back?
Thats also the tact Mennonite women use.
“What What?”
Well, around here they’re called dunkards. But unlike the boys that generally bailed out of school at 8th grade, the young ladies finished high school. My class had a handful of them. Some guys are into black chics, other latina or asian. My buddy Tim was a dunkard freak.
Sigh.
LOL there it is.
Its called “the loophole”. Look it up.
Again… sigh.
I thought you were going to post this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8ZF_R_j0OY
I probably should have… but while I do find Garfunkle and Oates funny — their music never sticks in my head for some reason, so I honestly forgot it until you posted it.
Sounds almost… perilous….
Poophole loophole.
“Despite their clothing, the women are not Catholic or any other religion”
Oh thank God.
I’m sorry, but I don’t think Milei is long for this world.
Me neither.
Well, I enjoyed the song more than I expected.
Mexico and Venezuela announced Saturday that they have restarted repatriation flights of Venezuelans migrants in Mexico, the latest move by countries in the region to take on a flood of people traveling north to the United States.
The move comes as authorities say at least 10,000 migrants a day have been arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, many of them
asylum seekerseconomic refugees.FIFT
Look, technically 10 is many.
Just because the full set is many thousands strong doesn’t mean there aren’t ‘many’ asylum seekers.
Many sounds sexier than the more accurate “an extremely small portion of them”
…malcontents, terrorists, cartel mules…
While we’re spit-balling.
Nope — and if someone in South America were to get frisky with the Brits, I would have expected it before they got Prince of Wales and/or Queen Elizabeth sorted out. Easier to mess with when they have no operational carrier… |
HMS Trent looks like it barely qualifies as a warship, frankly… but if they’re anticipating anything riverine, that might be why. If I were Royal Navy, I’d have an actual task force over the horizon standing by just in case, though. She’s not going to be much other than bait.
Frog Leap can make metal of anything, so not terribly surprising.
Me First and the Gimmies Gimmies go the punk route.
Huh… I get a real Dead Milkmen / Punk Rock Girl vibe from that for some reason.
This cover is likely my favorite.
Not bad — though the faster tempo really doesn’t work for me on that… had to click this though….
Another worthwhile one,

I was thinking about today, fun times!
Could the Brits fight another Falklands War? Their aircraft carrier can’t go anywhere because it will sink. Most of their heavy army gear was donated to the Ukraine and is now scrap metal. And they seem to have recruiting problems like the U.S.
https://www.thedefensepost.com/2023/12/18/uk-military-personnel-low/
I thought that was the Chinese latest model… got a link for the Brit’s issues? I know Prince of Wales had prop issues but that should be pretty much sorted, and I thought QE was functional… but not my Navy, not my rum-soaked buggers….
I was vaguely remembering this story.
http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/hms-queen-elizabeth-returns-to-port-early-after-leak-on-board-a4186401.html
Gotcha.
Against Venezuela? Yes.
How quickly we forget Venezuela’s navy ran a vessel into a cruise ship, and the cruise ship won.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-52151951
Still awesome, however.
Someone seems to be missing the plot.
I doubt the beards he’s trying to onboard are hipster goatees.
Girl beards?
Despite their clothing, the women are not Catholic or any other religion. They are part of an international group founded in 2014 called Sisters of the Valley, which has pledged to spread the gospel of the healing powers of cannabis.
So, stoners. You’ll find them on every college campus in America. The nun cosplay is just proof that marijuana ingestion can be habit-forming.
Boo.
I’d be offended by that joke on behalf of the Church, but I’m just too wimple.
As an expert I can say that pun was abbey-normal.
*narrows gaze*
When the puns start flying, nun will get past Swiss!
Makes me hot under the collar , just put it down in black and white
Swiss is very cross now!
At this point he’s taken a vow of silencing all of us.
What I like best about the Swiss is their Servators.
Although the flag is a big plus.
Yes, we can canton your fierce guarding of the poper ways
How far do they spread this gospel? Do they travel a lot? Or put another way, are they roamin’ Catholics?
Did the article talk about the finances of this group? I bet it is shady as shit.
I never trust those nun profits.
Great College of Cardinals, PJ steals a base with a double pun!
“Happy holidays, and be careful not to become a communist.”
🙂
Putin should have replied “Or a window washer, da?” just to troll everyone.
I thought that the “Window Washers” was the code name for his special assassination unit.
“In her email today, Gay complained: ‘It has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor—two bedrock values that are fundamental to who I am—and frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus.'”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12919893/Harvard-President-Claudine-Gay-resign-plagiarism-claims-disastrous-antisemitism-testimony.html
Racial animus? You got the job because you are black.
And her last name is “Gay”. She’s literally perfect.
Funniest response I saw on that was “I bet she plagiarized her resignation letter”.
The Bee, as usual, beat them to it.
Well, she may have
https://twitter.com/amuse/status/1742261717025927582?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
These resignations should be on a form letter, to save time.
Somewhere out there is a colored handicapped lesbian with a terminal degree in nonsense studies, i.e., the most oppressed woman in America.
She’ll tick all the boxes, and Harvard will once again sit fat and smug, like a toddler on the pot.
And her entire scholarship is racial claptrap.
I didn’t realize she was only pres for six months. Good riddance.
Good riddance
Keep her. I much prefer unrehabilitated transparency. People need to see shitshows and dumpster fires for the stinking, flaming clownshows that they are.
The veneer of respectability tricks children and simpletons into ignoring the utterly rotten cores which we know remain.
,,,and female
She should have hired Jeff Gilloooly as her crisis manager. He would have gotten her into a wheel chair and would have been untouchable.
He would have strike down her enemies, lest they skate on the charges.
“Free speech advocacy group PEN America found 1,557 books were banned across the country in the 2022-23 school year – 33 per cent more than the one before.”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12919465/some-new-laws-2024.html
Bullshit.
Yeah, how do they defined banned?
Removed from a public grade school library?
“When mommy pulls a train”
I think they missed a few. There are approximately 300,000 to 500,000 books published in the U.S. each year. A couple million if you count self-published. I’m pretty sure the vast majority of these books weren’t selected for inclusion in public libraries.
Venezuela’s presidential election will likely take place under better conditions than the fully stolen ballot in 2018, but it will still be far from free and fair.
¡We learned it from watching you, los Estados Unidos!
LOL
More than a third of US adults say Biden’s 2020 victory was not legitimate
New poll finds just 62% believe Biden’s election win over Donald Trump was fair – down from 69% in December 2021
More than a third of US adults believe Joe Biden was not legitimately elected president in 2020, according to a new poll.
According to the Washington Post and the University of Maryland, 62% of American adults say they believe Biden’s win was legitimate – down from 69% in the same poll in December 2021.
Thirty-six per cent say they do not accept Biden’s win.
Domestic terrorists, one and all.
I don’t care for how that’s worded. For sake of argument, if I concede the election was conducted legitimately, it doesn’t mean I accept Brandon’s win.
a nation of clowns
Anybody want to lease a Grand Wagoneer?
https://www.theautopian.com/a-dealer-is-selling-a-jeep-grand-wagoneer-for-38000-off-and-its-not-a-fluke/
Not a vehicle I’d consider actually owning. That said I did own a Land Rover at one point..
My mind is blown at a Jeep with a MSRP over $100k… seriously…. stop the inflationary world, I want to get off.
Jeep pulled out the stops to compete with Cadillac. But it’s still a Chrysler now with no V8 and the Hurricane 6.
Stellantis is fucked all over
https://caredge.com/guides/new-car-inventory-most-and-least
I’m somewhat familiar with most makes and models, but I don’t think I could pick out a Dodge Hornet from a lineup.
OT
忘れちゃった。新年あけましておめでとうございます。
You as well!
Still trying to break even? Apparently the floor plan and carrying cost aren’t hurting enough. Cry moar and actually do anything to move the units.
Oh Bob…
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/democrat-sen-bob-menendez-charged-accepting-bribes-benefit-qatar-superseding-federal-indictment
Was that wrong? Was I not supposed to do that?
And it’s the first time he did it, too! Honest!
The last time he was on trial for bribery, his defense was: “Yes I took the money and did what was asked of me, but I didn’t do it because of the money, I did it because he was such a good friend.”
The jury bought it.
If he had only changed his last name to Biden a decade ago………
Nothing Left To Cut!!!! Local Proggie upset that Build Back Better funds are not being spent fast enough. On what? Animal Crossings!!!!
See? It isn’t expensive anymore because FedGov printed a shit ton of money.
Oh, all of this handwringing is because a cougar was spotted wandering the suburbs and finally got hit while trying to cross a hiway. I don’t think this guy has thought through what the end game would be for a cougar living so close to humans – and losing fear of them – would be. At a minimum, I wonder how many pet dogs and cats went missing.
Hopefully got some deer as well.
Guess they never heard of “the dingo ate my baby” either.
Huh. Here I was thinking it was pretty damned strange for a state to be pushing for video game spending.
That’s a pitfall of government spending.
The dead giveaway was when they wanted to finance it in Bells.
I want to thank everyone who enjoyed, in some small way, my midday piece. kinnath, thanks for listening, and Timeloose, yes, Stories… is a great album, and it had come out just before I met my wife, so it played a big part in our dating music. And you are right, later records are very challenging, especially White Chalk.
We’re #4! We’re #4
A list of the best cities to live in if you want to survive Climate Change. Minneapolis came in #4 (I’m too embarrassed to even say who the first 3 are).
* and don’t doubt The SCIENCE, this article has been “expert reviewed”
“Even though Richmond residents can expect a full month of extreme heat by 2050,…”
Brah- have you ever been to central Virginia in July or August?
What’s considered a “day with high heat and humidity”?
And wouldn’t the city deal with the heat wave by opening cooling centers and blasting the AC in them?
Pretty much every day in Florida between April Fool’s Day and Halloween?
People move to Florida and then complain that we don’t have seasons. This is incorrect. We have:
– Not That Hot Yet
– REALLY FRIGGIN’ HOT!
– Hurricane Season
– February
So how is the city preparing for this sweltering heat wave? Pretty well, if its community resiliency score has anything to say about it. Since 2013, the city has been working to reduce energy use, recycle half of all city waste, and build 30 miles of bicycle lanes to promote green transportation in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2025.
Everybody will definitely ride their bicycles to the recycling station instead of hopping into an air conditioned car when it’s “sweltering” out. That just makes sense.
What works for Amsterdam shall work for the entire world!
Listen up, dummies
The much-discussed and feared recession hasn’t arrived. Yes, inflation is up, but people have jobs and are able to keep spending. Americans did just that this holiday season, with retail sales up 3.1% during the holiday stretch from November 1 to December 24, according to data from MasterCard SpendingPulse.
Blue-collar workers, meanwhile, have made big economic strides, but those stories have been crowded out by headlines about layoffs at major tech and media companies. Wage increases have largely kept up with inflation but have surpassed it for lower-income workers. Real wages were up 0.8% year-over-year in November, which was most pronounced among lower-income Americans.
“One of the weird things about the recent economy has been the way that it is very strong for people on the bottom and for entry-level workers and for younger people, but it’s a lot weaker obviously for media, for tech, for wealthier people,” Stancil said. “Of course, these are the voices that have access to the platforms to spread ideas.”
That could be why the economic mood has stayed dreary, even as all indicators showed a roaring recovery.
Of course. Social media is to blame. clap for Tinkerbell.
I’m sure any similarity between these figures is purely a coincidence.
And when the prices for housing, clothing, and food are still rising, and there's breathless talk and media coverage of just how poorly the economy is doing, people often think everyone else is not doing too well. And of course, the economy is not optimal for everyone: Wage gaps still exist, people of color continue to be more unemployed than white Americans, and inflation has been eating into everyone's budgets.
Look. joe Biden stood on the picket line with the UAW. What more could you losers want?
Properly closed <em> tags?
KAHN!!!!!!
A closed tag?
Better?
NO no no.
It’s “Look, fat–.”
-Properly closed tags?-
That costs extra.
Very droll.
Bah!
