A note from Glib Staff: We would like to take a moment to express our sincere thoughts and prayers for the people of Baltimore. It is with a heavy heart we ask God to bless the people with the wisdom to accept this premonition from divinity. It is now time to burn your homes, flee the city, and allow nature to reclaim the tragic monument to human misery the city of Baltimore has become.
Edit: I guess I don’t get an intro today?

This seems bad, a drought stricken area in Mexico ravaged by wildfire.
¡DOS A CERO! Yes, they had to pause the game because Mexicans called the goalkeeper a bitch.
Overshadowed by some fact check lady that couldn’t even get a fresh fade for a TV interview, AMLO interviewed on 60 Minutes with a bizarre border proposal that includes recognizing the Cuban government.
Millei spends money buying medications for trans people. The community notes on this article however suggests this is a purchase made by the previous administration that only recently received delivery. The agency that purchased it one he already dissolved. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Two recent murders occurred in El Salvador. So El Presidente Dudebro sends 6000 soldiers and police to apprehend (presumably) the culprits. If Franco was still alive, he’d give him a medal.
We know, BBC. We know.
It seems like an early to mid 90’s kind of day.
Those bastards!
They killed
KennyBaltimorehis intro?Ouch.
Seemed pretty moderate, and most sincere, to me.

You down with OCP?
The I-35 collapse in Minneapolis indeed turned out to be an early warning for that once fair city.
I don’t remember the Glib Editors throwing any prayers our way when that happened.
The pain I felt during that time was incredible. All sorts of friends from all over the country (and Mrs. Holiness’ relatives in Korea and Japan) were constantly calling to see if it was my fat ass that crumbled the bridge and if I was OK. It was horrible having to talk to people!
The Glibs weren’t even a glint in OMWC’s eye when the 35 bridge collapsed.
So many people were trying to call at that time that cellular service was pretty well brought to its knees. I fired off a text message to all my immediate family and it got through eventually.
Now of course is not the time for free and fair elections in Venezuela, there’s a war, or emergency or something.
I see you’ve been reading the Ukraine playbook again.
You mean the US playbook?
You mean all governments playbook?
Does anybody want a First? I made fresh Firsts. I know you want them.
Hey you? You want a First?!
Can I opt for the cash equivalent?
I think folks would happily pay you even 1000 times the cash value of one of Bro’s Firsts.
Soo … $0.00 x 1,000?
Unfortunately no, but we can offer the equivalent medical diagnosis – erectile disfunction.
I miss Fist of Etiquette. At least he was witty.
You prefer a fisting to a firsting?
He follows me on Twitter, heaven only knows why.
Wait, what? The Fistmeister’s on X?
Shit. Gotta get me some o’ that.
Oh, and as an aside: he follows you cuz yer way ++awse. ;-)
I would like a First with dark chocolate covered hazelnuts.
Great, were exporting our trans kids idiocy to other countries.
I mean, we are the originators of this lunacy as far as I can tell.
The UK seems to be reversing course before us.
Reality is being censored in other countries.
‘it’s later then you think’
Chilling.
Hair the time I can forget that, the other half remembers my upbringing in NY.
There’s been a course correction in UK and France among other countries. But of course it will linger here in the US and probably Canada.
It’s a result of greater polarization. Our leftwing cannot and will not ever admit they are wrong or have gone too far.
There’s also a lot of money at stake for US pharma companies and surgery centers.
Pediatric gender clinics shouldn’t exist.
Its a global contagion
After same sex marriage was legalized, Big Gay needed a new issue to keep the grift going. So they moved on to pushing trans stuff. The problem was, unlike homosexuality, gender dysphoria is extremely rare. So just like feminists and rape, supply didn’t meet demand. They needed a way to make more “trans” people. This was done in two ways. “Transgender” was expanded as more of an umbrella term (eg. non-binary), and they went after kids.
I like the theory they are sterilizing in mass the most neurotic part of the population: crazy white women.
The biological clock kind of takes care of that anyway.
Crazy white women who like taking it up the ass from (ostensibly) gay guys.
… all this week — on Town Talk!
They have vaginas, and most FTM are gynephilic.
Not the ones on Fetlife.
That’s why they’re on Fetlife.
Also, FTM was doubleplus super rare until relatively recently.
Sounds like you’ve got a story description for Literotica there …
“I like the theory they are sterilizing in mass the most neurotic part of the population: crazy white women.”
Great, now you’re making me reconsider my opposition to it.
There’s always a silver lining.
I’m pretty sure AMLO wouldn’t like my counter-proposal. And it likely wouldn’t be legal under NAFTA and whatnot either… but I don’t have the power to have to care anyway, so I can cherish it in my secret heart all I wish.
And I don’t remember where I read it — but someone correctly pointed out that the shrieking liberal meme girl is apparently now an internet fact-checker… and that makes perfect sense.
“Fact-checker” should be the new insult. Unlike “puto” it won’t interrupt soccer matches.
My border proposal is to shoot to kill anything trying to cross.
If they keep coming, strart clearing the ground on the far side of the border with nuclear hellfire until the dead zone is too wide for them to cross. It may reach the Panama Canal…
Yes, the machine gun sentry posts are part of what comes to mind. As is very high tariffs on everything from Mexico until the attempt to blackmail us stops. Oh — and a complete lock down on wire transfers from the US to Mexico… enjoy that little hit to your economy there, AMLO.
Fuck tariffs. I’m not paying $3 for an avocado.
Ok — just a total ban on avocadoes then. You won’t have to pay anything for one then.
(Plus — avocados suck. Bleah!)
Send ’em all up to America’s Hat. The Spousal Unit™ will eat ’em, I assure you.
Me either.
No one should pay $3 for an avocado.
No one should eat an avocado, it goes without saying.
Tariffs are when you tax your populace to allegedly punish someone else. The Russian Roulette of trade.
Seems wasteful.
Just pattern-bombard with a bunch of conventional-explosive “dirty bombs” (haven’t our combined militaries got more than enough spent uranium to turn to powder?) and let radiation sickness do the rest. Bonus: leaves most of Mexico (which I like) essentially untouched.
“Two recent murders occurred in El Salvador.”
I guess that’s possible if “recent” is measured in nanoseconds.
Joke is on those 2 nimrods, they should have done their murdering in NYC, or Philly, or LA, or some other 3rd world-esque shit hole.
I’m sure the PPP Admin is relocating them so they can escape El Salvadoran government persecution to one of those fine cities as we speak.
If we’re lucky, they’ll only be using Boeing 737-MAX for those flights.
I mean, I’m pretty sure our politicians would just give him the $20 billion for not securing the border.
All in a days work
I agree with him on ending the Cuba embargo. If the goal of it has been to get rid of the commies, it hasn’t worked.
They embargo is the only thing blocking socialist utopia.
That’s what the regime there claims, of course. Ending the embargo would put paid to that lie very quickly, which is why the leadership in Cuba wouldn’t actually want it to happen.
The embargo is one of the U.S.’s stupider decisions.
Considering how little it actually costs us – no, there are much stupider federal policies.
The “embargo” where people living in the U.S. can sell to people in another country, who then sell to Cubans?
Yeah, that’ll work any century now.
Socialist countries can’t survive unless they can engage in free trade with capitalistic countries.
If memory serves, the embargo was put in place because Castro seized the assets of a bunch of people, many of whom were either from or wound up in the U.S. I have no idea if it would have been lifted if he returned (or paid for) what he stole. Initially, I think, it was as much about the theft as bringing down the regime (not that we would have minded, of course).
At least he didn’t force the White House to eat its own ear when he had it.
Yeah, I don’t follow on how paying billions in bribes to corrupt governments that keep the money for themselves and dangling a social security card, free hotel room and cell phone to every person in every third world country if they manage to cross an imaginary line is going to solve any problems.
Sure, go ahead and lift the Cuba embargo though.
Dammmmn…. I know we turned down annexing Mexico last century — but if we’re going to prop up other nation’s militaries… does El Salvador have any interest in running Mexico? I think his style meeting the cartels would be interesting.
You assume that the US wants to destroy the cartels and that our agencies aren’t working with them.
That kind of money buys some mighty fine protection.
Yeah, BBC — what kind of 3rd world hellscape would block the opposition candidate using stupid political or lawfare tricks…..
1) Well now I’m just going to have to re-watch The Crow for the upteenth time this evening.
2) Always a good song — but that always takes me to the best song made for a film that was actually for a completely different film.
this song, which was made for another movie?
This jumped into my head. A blast from the past
Biden — less ability than Carter, more dementia than Reagan… yet guarded by the media. Yay.
And I was half expecting this gem.
RFK announcing a far left running mate feels like a win for Trump. In theory.
At least it isn’t a rather out of it retired Admiral.
A debate between Stockdale and Brandon would be epic!
He’s probably banging her.
A threesome with Cheryl?
That sounds more like you’ve been reading Cherry Poptart back issues.
They’re both cute. Let’s give it a chance here.
I’ve never seen a cute Cheryl in my life.
Cheryl Tiegs?
It does to me too. As I said in the last thread, Tulsi would have been a genius pick. But she might be Trump’s pick from what I hear.
I’d try to change citizenship quickly just to vote for Trump/Tulsi (T&T? – yah baby!).
I remember a few months back when all the pundits were saying that RFK took more votes from Trump than Biden. I thought that was laughable. It’s gotta be close to 75/25 in votes taken.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs whereabouts are unknown after federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13241203/diddy-drug-mule-arrested-miami-airport-raids-house.html
Because no one would recognize him?
Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe we can’t or don’t track everything leaving our airspace? I really doubt the USG doesn’t know where his private plane went.
They can’t even figure out who is stashing coke in the WH. 🙄
Sean, folks, a funny, funny Glib. Let’s all give him a big hand.
Sure.
Heck. Just sounds like kids having fun. I’d go visit Diddy to get a free gun and some Mary Jane. I still don’t know how Homeland Security would be involved.
It’s a high profile case where the leg work was basically done for them by a snitch in a lawsuit. It’s going to make some agents career and required zero real effort and will have no actual impact on protecting Americans.
It’s like perfect for the DHS.
Bonus Track: They can tell everyone how tough they are on sex trafficking. (While leaving the border open and Epstein’s list buried).
Diddy should fly to Epstein Island and reopen it. The elites would celebrate him.
Do you think the CIA still has all their camera equipment hooked up in the walls?
Rename it Diddle Island?
The more money he comes across, the more problems he sees.
This lawsuit details sound batshit crazy. Strap in.

I know the woke want to get rid of the Star Spangled Banner, but taking down the Francis Scott Key Bridge seems a little extreme.
F S Key was a slave owner. Replacement bridge should be named for Frederick Douglass.
Should be named for St. George Floyd.
He already has a sacred square in Minneapolis.
News you can use
McDonald’s customers can soon pair Krispy Kreme doughnuts with their morning McCafe, in a new food partnership that seeks to expand both brands but that could wind up weakening them instead.
Three types of Krispy Kreme doughnuts — original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced “kreme” filled — will go on sale at McDonald’s restaurants starting later this year, the companies told CNN on Monday.
Krispy Kreme shares jumped more than 39% on Tuesday. McDonald’s shares were flat.
But can you get a Big Mac on a glazed donut?
a new food partnership that seeks to expand both brands but that could wind up weakening them instead.
Thanks CNN for that insight.
Shit, a decent donut in the morning from McDonalds? How can that be an issue?
No — Krispy Kreme. You’ll still have to go somewhere else for a decent donut.
Too-Shay!
I’ve never had one, but I’m told Krispy Kremes are only any good straight out of the deep fryer.
The real key is whether Mickey Dee’s will make them onsite (not using the same oil they use for Filet o’ Fish, hopefully), or truck them in from a KK location (central kitchen?).
They will be delivered.
OMG! Does McDonalds sell mostly donuts? Does Krispy Kreme sell burgers and nuggets? NOW I’M HOPELESSLY CONFUSED!!!
Finkel is Einhorn?!? Einforn is Finkel!?!?
Homophobe
A Luther McVandross?
I have thankfully not needed to go to Krispy Kreme since they stopped giving out free donuts when the hot sign was lit.
When they did, if the girlfriend saw the sign lit up when we drove by, we were going through the drive thru.
Twitter has been absolutely roasting that disinformation expert from 60 Minutes. They presented her as a nonpartisan academic. Here’s a good rundown of who she really is. tldr: A Democrat operative with major TDS working with CISA.
https://twitter.com/KanekoaTheGreat/status/1772712350157869503
It’s funny to me how where free speech is sort of allowed, like on Musk’s Twitter, the left gets dominated. Out-memed, ratioed, and mocked into oblivion. Even on a platform that skews younger and should be left wing. Youtube had to remove the dislikes because they had to hide this fact.
Where are all these lefties who want this shit? Where are the record number of Biden voters? Do they just run once their echo chamber is threatened?
I would lay odds that the number of true believers is limited, and most people don’t align with their insanities.
Most people have no idea this is going on. The MSM has done a great job in not mentioning it, or presenting it as conspiracy theories. I’ll bet 9 out of 10 people have never hear about the Twitter files or the First Amendment case that’s at the SC right now.
I would remind you to Google 2020 news and get back to me.
I think in 2020 a lot of Americans were cowed into silence. The left is great at projecting the idea that they are many. They take the shrillest, most extreme minority of their own side and present it as perfectly normal. And normies are afraid of getting destroyed if they question it.
+1 He’s right you know meme
Doesn’t matter where they are or how many or even how solid their arguments are or aren’t-this is more of a top down operation and if you don’t want in they ruin you or try to at least.
Yea, they control most of the institutions.
This is probably just more of my crazy election denialism seeping through. The left claims at every turn to represent a majority from the cultural sphere where there’s some supposedly modern audience that demands this shit to the political. But they get dominated the second wrongthink isn’t banned or throttled into oblivion.
In the ’90s, Lesley Stahl did a big segment on 60 Minutes about fake emails. She was astonished that people could send out email that purported to come from the president at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. SHOCKED!
The expert she had on was semi-embarrassed by how absolutely gullible she was. He tried to tell her that anyone could put a return address of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave on a letter too, but it was still fake.
Of course, her solution was for the govt to step in and take over email delivery.
There’s never been a problem that couldn’t be solved by giving government a monopoly with no oversight.
There’s never been a problem that couldn’t be solved by giving government a monopoly with no oversight.
The squirrels double-plus agree.
It sounds like the music is about to stop, and somebody doesn’t have a chair
Fisker is in trouble. The electric vehicle startup announced earlier this month that it didn’t have enough money to make it to December. The hope was that another company would swoop in and save it from eventual bankruptcy—but those talks have fallen apart.
According to regulatory paperwork filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday—as first reported by Reuters—Fisker wasn’t able to strike a deal with potential suitors. “The large automaker” involved in initial talks “terminated the negotiations.” Fisker was reportedly in discussions with up to five automakers.
——-
Fisker is now forced to look for alternate options to stay afloat. The document notes that the company “continues to evaluate strategic alternatives.” That could include business restructurings in court or stock buybacks. Speaking of—Fisker’s stock dropped 28 percent on the day of the announcement and trading was halted. The New York Stock Exchange will soon delist the stock entirely.
But the world desperately needs more electric luxury pickup trucks!
Can’t imagine why no one wants to take up an in-debt electric vehicle company…
BYD makes cars at all price levels. Reminds me of the Japanese and Korean entries into the U.S.
It will be interesting as their IP is of questionable origin. I expect lawsuits here, but they are in Europe.
Big obstacle is the dealership laws.
BYD has the advantage of the batteries for the EV market being almost all made in China. More analogous to the Japanese entry to the US if they also controlled all engine manufacturing and could disrupt the US auto maker production cycles at will.
Yup. Part of the reason for FedGov subsidy for domestic production.
However, Ford while producing here was using a Chinese license and ineligible. Hence the freeze on domestic production.
In BYD’s case they were always ineligible so why not enjoy cheap batteries.
Perhaps they should join with another company that just went through a rebrand? Lordstown Motors is now Nu Ride. Together, Fisker and Lordstown could go for A Nu Start!
No love for Stellantis ?
I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX from Diamond-Star Motors from the plant Lordstown was using.
For an early 90s car it rocked. Worst feature was the fucking mouse seatbelts instead of an airbag.
A friend had the Chrysler badged version of that I think….turbo, AWD. It was fun.
The Eagle!
It just didn’t have an AMC straight 6…
Eagle Talon
Or Chrysler Laser.
Thanks! I couldn’t remember the Chrysler. That was only FWD turbo and non turbo.
the plant Lordstown was using
Normal? I worked on that plant.
That’s it!
Not a big fan of airbags. The only injury I’ve had in a car was the airbag beating up my face in a minor parking lot fender bender. When I had a near head-on collision in my 1990 Honda Civic (no airbags, and a compact car at that) at a combined speed of probably 90 mph, I walked away and wasn’t even sore the next day, from wearing a seatbelt. The rear axle of the other car wound up probably 75 yards away in a cornfield, so it was a hard hit.
“business restructurings in court”
Commonly known as bankruptcy. A good tell that this is just regurgitated PR.
“stock buybacks”
With what money?
That job sucks- I’d rather see you starve
Immigrant children as young as 14 were found working illegally amid dangerous heavy equipment at a Tennessee firm that makes parts for lawn mowers sold by John Deere and other companies, according to Labor Department officials.
The company, Tuff Torq, was fined nearly $300,000 for hiring 10 children. As part of a consent agreement with the federal government, the company is also required to set aside $1.5 million to help the children who were illegally employed. Ryan Pott, general counsel for Tuff Torq’s majority owner, the Japanese firm Yanmar, acknowledged the violations to NBC News.
“The department will not tolerate companies profiting on the backs of children employed unlawfully in dangerous occupations,” said Seema Nanda, the department’s chief legal officer, whose office obtained the consent judgment against Tuff Torq. “Tuff Torq has agreed to disgorge profits, which will go to the benefit of the children. This sends a clear message: putting children in harm’s way in the workplace is not only illegal, but also comes with significant financial consequences.”
I wonder how many industrial accident victims are buried out behind the factory.
So, some illegals forced their kids to work in a factory and then get a big fat settlement for their negligence. It’s the South or Central American version of the ghetto lottery here, people.
Probably with false documentation saying they are 20 years old.
You know, if the border issue was addressed the probability that things like this would happen wou…ah, fuck it…
Odd remembrance. Randy Newman wrote a song about Baltimore. And he had never visited the city.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Re05AyVsz8o
Big obstacle is the dealership laws.
BYD should sell their cars on Alibaba.
Any city that can claim Frank Zappa, John Waters, Edgar Allen Poe, and H. L. Mencken deserves more consideration than that.
No love for Duff the cake guy?
Quoth EvilSheldon.
Don’t forget Nancy Pelosi!
How do we know that Pelosi isn’t John Waters in drag? Has anyone ever seen them in the same place at the same time? That sass is unmistakable!
John Waters is way too good-looking for that.
If the US wants Assange, they are going to have to promise the UK with a pinky-swear promise that they’ll give him first amendment protections. I’m not really sure what that means because if the first amendment was considered, there’d be no case against Assange.
Hell we don’t even get first amendment protections and we live here.
They are pretty good about paying it lip service right up to the point when they wipe their asses with that part of the constitution.
Kabuki theater bullshit, if he ends up here any word given will be legally parsed away and he’ll end up in the supermax and the Brits know it. This nonsense just allows them to lodge a formal complaint via a strongly worded statement once that happens.
He won’t end up in a supermax. He’ll kill himself. He’ll be found hanged from a bed that’s only 5 ft tall in the suicide watch ward of a prison that hasn’t had a successful suicide in a decade on a night were all the cameras happen to go down and both guards on duty happen to fall asleep.
And anyone who questions that story is a bigot and a conspiracy theorist.
The Labor Department did not specify what work the children were doing. But Labor official Juan Coria said what his investigative team found in Tuff Torq’s “very busy” Morristown manufacturing plant was “astonishing.”
Coria, southeast regional administrator for the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division, described an environment that he says caused anxiety among his investigators who witnessed children as young as 14 working late at night at the 24-hour manufacturing facility amid power-driven equipment that was being moved around the plant.
Give me a fucking break. The infantilization of America runs amok. That guy probably would have a fucking brain aneurysm if he ever spent an afternoon on a family farm.
It’s owned by a Japanese company. They have more recent experience with forced child labor.
They appreciate the small, delicate hands.
BYD has floated the idea of building an assembly plant in Mexico- hence Trump’s threats to put prohibitive tariffs on Mexican auto imports. How he proposes to get that past NAFTA, or whatever they’re calling it now, remains to be seen.
Just getting rid of incentives should kill electric vehicles no problem
No kidding, every one of them, except some Teslas are built at a loss. Then both the buyer and seller get gov’t subsidies to buy and sell them and they’re still too expensive. Can you imagine having to pay full freight how poorly they’d sell?
Just like he did last time, invoke the magic words national security.
Back to the lawn mower factory- I wonder who tipped off the feds.
Tik Tok Billy in the tire division.
Should I move out of the house and stop taking an allowance? But I love Mom’s cooking. And it’s free!

Labor officials say their investigation into the company began almost a year ago, in spring 2023, and investigators visited the facility multiple times. Officials declined to say what sparked the investigation.
Definitely not a union labor advocate.
Hold out for more
…Vista (VSTO) in late November rejected an unsolicited bid from Colt. Colt proposed a business combination that it claimed would value Vista at $30 a share.
Vista Outdoor (VSTO) on Monday confirmed that it had received an unsolicited indication of interest from MNC Capital. According to the company, MNC expressed its interest in acquiring VSTO in an all-cash transaction for $37.50/share. Vista shares rose 3.2% on Monday on the revised bid.
For its part, Vista Outdoor (VSTO) has maintained that a planned breakup of the company would be more valuable for shareholders. The break-up plan would see VSO sell its ammunition business to CSG for $1.9B, although the deal is under review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
It wouldn’t cause me too much pain to get bought out at a substantial multiple, but they seem to be doing fine as they are. And breaking it up is likely to bring in more. I have to assume any body who bought it would immediately break it up. It’s a roll-up of several outdoor equipment categories.
But was the goalkeeper in fact a bitch?
I believe he plays for Man City…so yes.
Clinton took millions in Chinese money while president. They tried to impeach him for lying about a blowjob.
Kind of shows what the priorities are.
Thats because nobody in the GOP was getting either.
The best they had was Larry “Wide Stance” Craig trying for an understall HJ in an airport bathroom.
I read somewhere on the internet that all airport bathroom stalls have a secret glory hole if you just know the secret Illuminati knock. Apparently Craig wasn’t important enough to know it.
4Chan ?
He was impeached, It’s sad that Firsters don’t understand what impeachment is, not surprising since they’re maroons but still sad.
Hypacunt, no one gives a shit about what you have to say, but in typical cunty fashion, you attempt to dodge the substance of what is said to latch onto some meaningless argument over terminology.
If you’ve ever won an argument, I haven’t been around to witness it.
I should say not even an argument over terminology. You typically latch onto syntax to weasel your way out of avoiding the actual subject being discussed.
It’s “The” Hypacunt
No, it’s just hypacunt. The little pissant who couldn’t.
Look, you, like most idiots, don’t know the meaning of impeachment, it not that big a deal and no reason to get all pissy at the person that tries to edumacate ya. It’s your parents you should be mad at for failing to raise you right, not me.
Hype, you typically fail to even be technically correct on the simplest of details you correct people on. They impeached him. And then he was acquitted by the Senate. So you can say you were technically right on a point no one cares about while avoiding the actual point.
Shiiit, I’m right so often “As much as I hate to agree with The Hyperbole” ought to have it’s own heading in the sidebar.
You are the equivalent of a blind, dumb and deaf Don Quixote trying to tilt at windmills.
Missed Connection-
You: Lady in the sharp black Toyota Sequoia parked next to me in Krogers lot
Me: Hillbilly in a black POS Envoy™ that just loaded $110 of groceries in said POS
Lady, I’m lazily shopping for a used Sequoia and I found a lot in Dayton that has one at a reasonable price. When I gesture to you to roll down your window, I just have some questions about the truck that Id like to ask someone that owns one. You don’t have to panic, shoo me away with hand gestures, throw your truck in drive, and leave the immediate area. You most certainly saw that I had been shopping- I’m not some vagrant wandering up to accost you.
Calm your fuckin’ titties.
Yours in Christ, Tres Cool
Ha!
I’ve had people ask me questions about my car several times. Usually in a parking lot or gas station. I don’t believe I’ve ever run away from the person.
That’s because you, as presumably a man, don’t have to worry about being raped — in broad daylight, in a parking lot, while wielding a three ton weapon you could run them over with if they were stupid enough to try.
Body Gaze as a Marker of Sexual Objectification: A New Scale for Pervasive Gaze and Gaze Provocation Behaviors in Heterosexual Women and Men
I was objectifying her ride.
You don’t have to lie to us here Tres. We accept you for who you are. She had some real sweater zeppelins didn’t she?
The windows were pretty well smoked out. Dark tint on a black body. It was sharp.
I couldn’t gauge the size of her or the zeppelins.
There’s entire videos on YouTube (re-posted from TikTok, IIRC) of women abso-fucking-LUTELY freaking out ’cause some man *dared* to approach their most holy and angelic selves IN PUBLIC (Oh mercy! someone fetch me my fainting couch NOW, and don’t forget the string of pearls and the smelling salts!).
Honestly, are you folks down there in Canada’s Underpants okay, or should we just invade you and make you safe for relations between the sexes again?
Big talk from the country that fucked over their truckers over vaccines.
Anyone have any input on whether 3 Body Problem on Netflix is worth watching? The ol’ leather jacket that wears a human from TOS just endorsed it on Twitter. Apparently it begins with a dramatization of the Chinese cultural revolution. I have to imagine it’s sanitized and scrubbed to the point of being almost completely dishonest to get passed the Chinese censors that Netflix almost certainly has on their staff. I’m still kind of intrigued. Who’s taken the plunge?
I asked the Glib a while ago. Consensus seemed to be generally positive, but that you might be lost if you haven’t read the books.
I will not be reading a book, please and thank you. I think I’ll give Shogun a try instead.
I thought 3 Body Problem was awesome as both a book trilogy and a TV series. Totally worth trying.
The Amazon Prime one (in Chinese) isn’t bad.
I managed to enjoy it w/o having read the books.
Spoiler: This is why we shouldn’t let women in STEM.
Another thing I don’t need to read a book or watch a show to know.
My wife started watching it last night. The cultural revolution bit was not sanitized. I was immediately drawn in. Then it spun off into not-cultural revolution.
House of ninjas was fun.
You don’t have to panic, shoo me away with hand gestures, throw your truck in drive, and leave the immediate area. You most certainly saw that I had been shopping- I’m not some vagrant wandering up to accost you.
Just what a carjacker would say.
Welp, Dr. Mossy Lawn gave me good info on the whole Starlink kerfuffle in the last post. Proving once again that I get better information from the commenters on an obscure website than I do from any multibillion dollar media corporation.
Thanks, doc.
And this is why I think the comments sections of any article, here there or elsewhere, are the most important part of what is online.
Fine, we authors are going on strike until we are properly appreciated!
“The opposition Unitary Platform (PUD)…”
Heh.
Going to take a pounding, aren’t they?

Id rather rock a Cinnabon. But Im easing back into low-carb. So fuck both of them.
/pray for me, Sean
👍👀
Since it’s a car kinda day:
Any Glibs with thoughts – pro or con – on Volvos? In particular, the wagons.
Need to replace the 2009 Honda Fit (calm yourselves, ladies). The caveat – the mouth of the driveway is narrow; I was eying the Genesis GV70, but it’s 8″ wider – that’ll be tight. V60 is a bit more narrow, plus I like a wagon.
And, of course, we can’t have nice things:

Ohhhhh…..Volvo wagons really take the wrinkles out of my love-sausage.
But since all the new-ish ones are essentially FoMoCo, Im not sure how to feel. Over the years Ive had 2 240s and for a short time, a 260.
If I ever find myself with too much disposable income (not likely) I will have one of these.
If I have too much disposable income, I would immediately buy the best car in the world
No argument here. Other than POS Jetta GTI™ I had for a bit, I dont know much about german cars.
I think I want to keep it that way.
They had E63 wagons as pace cars at the last F1 race I attended. They were louder and sounded better than the race cars.
The AMG C63 wagons they use (were using?) for the medical cars are on my “want” list.
Europe-only, of course.
You wish they were FoMoCo – Ford sold them about 15 years ago to Geely, the Chinese automaker. The good news is they have mostly been left alone to do Volvo things.
My dad got a used one when he felt he’d “arrived.” It was, as per his usual when making car-buying decisions, a moneypit. It had been wrecked (which he didn’t know beforehand), so the front end was always mildly jacked up and the sunroof leaked. Also, he had to take it far away to the dealership to get it fixed and it practically lived there. I don’t know if that is indicative of Volvo or that particular piece of shit.
When was this, roughly? I’m talking about the current incarnation.
1993
I know, totally relevant. 😜
When they first made the current powertrain it was turbo and supercharged 4 banger with lots of issues. It’s now turbo only, but no idea on current reliability.
I don’t care, but some do – it has an ultimate Chinese parent.
I hear the ratings are down since the Chinese bought them, but I don’t actually know.
The weirdest thing to me is the horsepower given the price: you could have a crewcab pickup with a mountain of torque for the same money.
That definitely won’t fit through the driveway entrance.
“You could get this completely different sort of vehicle for that price!” isn’t really helpful, Don 😉
If you don’t mind quirky, I recently heard Clark Howard rave about how much he loved his Scion xB.. It’s basically a Toyota, but it looks like they stopped making it in 2015 so you’d have to hunt down a low mileage used one. Might also be even less manly than the Fit. I would drive one. I think they even come in manual if you prefer to row through the gears
Woof, yeah – that’s like birth-control on wheels. A bit more SUV-ish than I’d like.
My first car was a hand-me-down turd brown 1984 Volvo 240 DL wagon.
Parents, heed my advice – Do not give your 16-year-old son a Volvo station wagon. It’s slow, safe, ugly, and you could fold the back seats down and have plenty of room for a twin camping mattress. Some truly horrible violations took place in the back of that car. It was pretty awesome.
Ugh, burn that

I knew somebody a few years ago with a V70(?). He seemed to like it.
What are Minnesodans talking about today? Not bridge collapses. Nope, it is Mike “My Pillow” Lindell potentially being evicted from a warehouse for not paying $200K in rent.
So many local proggies are squealing with glee. I’d like to see Trump win and appoint Mike to some cabinet post where he could fire a lot of bureaucrats.
Right now, Pfizer and Moderna (under the direction of Fauci) are working on a vaccine for sleep apnea.
mRNA of course
He could give them pillows to cry in as they head out the door.
As Sensei points out, they are a long way from their Swedish roots.
you could have a crewcab pickup
But then you’d have a crew cab pickup.
Don’t be hatin’ on Black Betty.
Bam a lam!

Make him head of the FTC.

I wouldn’t want her as a daily driver. Now, one of them hemi Magnum wagons… I’d consider it. If it had a manual transmission.
I dont know if they went so far as to put a 392 in one (same 470 hp in our Challenger)…but that would be fun
They put a 6.1 in the SRT-8 Magnum. I have one, I love it. Best part is they don’t have the dreaded MDS.
Such a missed opportunity that we didn’t get a new generation based on the last gen Charger.
Blame FIAT ?
Laundry, Waffle House, text from RV repair guy, cool temps, rain, new dog toys. Pretty good birthday.
Hey, happy birthday!
Bon Anniversaire!
I hope you got them smothered and covered!
woot!
Or, earlier 80s if you prefer your teeth to be a bit more Scottish.
Relevant
this is a time capsule.
A good reminder that the various decades are really mid-decade to mid-decade – 1989 is way more like 1985 than “the 90s”.
TIL they’re a scottish group
Huh.
HAPPY BARFDAY!!!!
Not being a pageant expert I had no idea this was a bullshit local pageant.
