The Hat and The Hair Animated: Rerun: Ep 12

by | Mar 20, 2024 | Hat and Hair | 78 comments

Last time we reran episode 10, so you’d think this time would be episode 11.  But you’d be fucking wrong. Episode 11 is “Please Pardon Me”, the annual Thanksgiving special. So I’m skipping it for this syndication run.

This episode features the now President trying to grope grasp the ideas of the younger generation.

I bet she’s the Pepsi Generation. Not classy like Diet Coke.

    CPRM. You are fucking brilliant.

Like every great artist, he’s just going to have to die before people will appreciate that.

well I’ve got to say that my optimism is flagging

with only 1.5M bagged for the greatest president of all time, we’re going to need another 6.1M contributors to STAND WITH TRUMP, and I just don’t know why that’s not happening

we’re pretty much out to 2045 paying it all off at this pace, and I just can’t ask him to wait that long

but, since he’s a great athlete and in perfect health according to world-class doctors (with basically only one unfortunate issue back during VietNam), at least we can all be sure he’ll live to 98 to see all this nonsense finally put to bed (if this second term doesn’t set him back)

thanks as always; billionaires need our help….do what you can and God bless

I’d pretty much made up my mind to not vote in AZ’s crooked elections. Now I’m thinking maybe I’ll cast a fuck-you-in-the-ass vote for Trump. Dunno, have to see if I’m feeling it on Election Day.

      • Fourscore

1980 was my last visit to a polling place. Reagan fooled me once.

      • pistoffnick

The last time I voted was for Jesse Ventura.

      • Spudalicious

        He was…interesting.

      • pistoffnick

        He still is interesting.

He got rid of tailpipe testing in Minnie-apple-lis which allowed me to drive my Triumph Spitfire again. The other two candidates were for building Target Field or updating a failing theater on the backs of taxpayers.

A few years later, both of those fucking projects got done under different administrations. That was my falling out point. Voting does not work. Democracy doesn’t work. I haven’t voted since.

      • rhywun

        Democracy doesn’t work.

Was thinking the same while reading about Joe’s most recent rearranging of the economy to satisfy his commie buddies. The next R with balls will just rearrange it the other way.

I wonder if compaies just target the middle so they’re not constantly wasting money trying to satisfy both.

      • rhywun

My only goal from now on is to vote against Democrats. It comforts the soul when I look at the results and know I’m not the only one.

        Besides, they deserve it.

      • Chafed

That’s more or less where I am.

      • Grummun

I did my civic duty on Tuesday and voted for Vivek. DeSantis, Haley and Christie were still on the Ohio ballot, too. Sadly, Vivek came in dead last, behind Christie, which has to be a “go play in traffic” kind of moment.

    • R C Dean

I do enjoy your animus for Trump, DeT.

      • Don escaped Texas

        in fairness, I hate everyone

Isn’t AOC a bit old for Biden?

    • Fourscore

As with Jesus, Biden loves all the children, black or white or brown or red or any of the various Asian colors.

Not counting those that actually lived in VN in 1968, seems like Clinton, Bush, Biden and Trump all had an aversion to any personal risk taking.

      • Suthenboy

        Funny that, isn’t it?
I wonder what I would have done had I been of age at the time. Knowing what I know now I probably would not have gone.

      • Fourscore

We didn’t know then…Everyone makes a choice…We were lied to by LBJ…He wanted to be seen as someone other than JFK’s lackey.

Now we’re getting the same BS, “we gotta stop them there before…” This time it doesn’t seem to be working so well.

      • Brochettaward

If they refused to fight on some sort of principle, you may be able to understand.

Of course, all of these shitbags were more than happy to embroil the US in foreign conflicts or keep us in places while it was politically convenient.

      • creech

At least Bush served, flying fighter jets against the tumbleweeds and feral hogs in Texas.

      • Fourscore

Until he didn’t. His attendance record was a little spotty, I understand

      • dbleagle

Very spotty. At the time of the election there were many Reserve and NG officers I knew who were pissed off about his lack of participation in drills and AT. Most liked his reaction to go after the Taliban. Which at the time was reasonable after 9/11. Instead of launching a punitive expedition Bush’s desire to reform the unreformable sucked us into a generation long money and lives pit.

  4. Fourscore

Thanks CPRM, for making Wednesday evenings more fun.

Have a bunch of high school all stars join the WNBA and destroy the league.

Pulling in a larger audience is an odd way to destroy the league.

    • Fourscore

The WNBA could be like the Globetrotters, traveling from high school to high school, playing the boys’ teams. I’m guessing they’d fill the bleachers in the high school gym, bigger crowds than they’re pulling now and could rack up some occasional wins.

  6. Spudalicious

    CPRM, did you get monetized?

    • CPRM

No. Not enough views or subscribers.

      • Brochettaward

All the cool kids are streaming these days. You should stream and get that fat superchat money.

  7. Brochettaward

If they were seconded by man, they can be Firsted by man.

  8. Brochettaward

Pulling over from the dead thread.

What sort of evidence would it take for people to accept that there are UFO’s?

    • creech

I can’t be bothered. If they want to kill us, we can’t stop them. If they want to help us, they’ll let us know. If they are here for entertainment, then humanity is probably giving them their money’s worth.

      • Brochettaward

Less a question of whether you care, and more about what it would take to believe.

Because from where I’m sitting, we have video where they were detected by radar and highly credible witnesses (US pilots). But you get the response like the one from dbleagle below where it’s all a joke.

If you can’t explain the videos that have been released, which are probably about as close to disclosure as we’ll get from the government, then how do you rationalize that with mocking the belief in them?

      • Brochettaward

I’m fascinated more about that question. People can’t explain the videos, shrug it off and just keep on mocking the idea.

      • The Hyperbole

It’s not the unexplained flying objects that people (well me at least, but I think it’s true for a lot of folks) shrug off – It’s the leap to extra terrestrial intelligence that they shrug off. Sure there is shit we can’t explain, that’s no reason to jump to conclusions, same goes for God or Steve Smith.

      • Brochettaward

I never spoke about aliens, though aliens certainly sound more plausible to most people than any of the following:
        1. Time travelers
        2. Interdimensional beings
        3. Hidden advanced civilization on Earth

Maybe some other possibility I’m not thinking of. There’s some force with highly advanced technology that has been here on this planet. It aint us.

      • The Hyperbole

Maybe some other possibility I’m not thinking of.

That’s it in a nutshell. We don’t have all the answers, and that’s a hard end point for many people. Sure keep looking and questioning shit, but it’s perfectly fine to admit ‘I have no idea’. My skepticism of some explanations isn’t saying those explanations are bullshit, I’m saying those explanations have as much or less evidence as any other. It’s the God thing – “I can’t explain it so it must be “X””, If you can’t explain it “X” can be anything and if “X” can be anything than defining “X” is useless.

      • Brochettaward

If we could rule out the idea that it was us (and I’m defining us loosely as the known human civilizations on the planet), then does that not change the calculation? And the least likely option to me is that it’s all us.

      • Not Adahn

        It’s simple Bayesian logic.

If I predict the next MegaMillions number, am I psychic?

If I predict the next two MegaMillions numbers am I psychic or is it more likely that I’ve working with someone on the inside to cheat?

      • rhywun

        Eye-witness evidence.

        Videos don’t count for shit.

      • Brochettaward

Whose eye witness testimony? It kind of is like Suthen said in the previous thread. Short of the aliens landing and coming out, there’s no eye witness testimony that can’t (and hasn’t) been attacked relentlessly. The media and government have done everything they can to discredit the UFO research movement since its inception.

Do you need to see it yourself?

        Is Jimmy Carter good enough?

      • Brochettaward

Are military pilots with video to back them up along with radar signatures credible?

      • dbleagle

On the face of it, sure. But I remember that they let people claim UFOs when all along the USAF knew it was sightings of the F-117 and B-2 before they were publicly admitted to. What flight programs, man or especially unmanned, are out there and being reported as aliens? Every year people report UFO’s in Phoenix that are merely flares from the Barry Goldwater Range SW of the city.

In many ways I am aligned with Creech on his view. I am certain there is life elsewhere in the galaxy and universe. The math is just the favor of that COA. But space is huge, our Sun is in a boring sub-arm (good for us because exciting areas tend to be life conditions adverse), and our species isn’t all that interesting.
I think of the possible freak outs from finding cellular or small organism level life in this SS* and kinda hope any intelligent life keeps a lid on themselves.

*There are already groups calling for banning lunar and Mars missions because of pollution. One is a sterile rockpile and the other might, just might, have- or had- primitive life.

      • Brochettaward

dbleagle, this is a US Navy pilot shocked at what he’s seeing. If we have that technology and can replicate it, it would be world changing. And this video has four minutes redacted.

If we don’t have the tech to do this, who the hell does? And you can bet your ass that the military industrial complex would be screaming to high heaven for more money if they believed China or Russia could do this.

99% of UFO reports are probably bullshit or explainable, but that 1% is all that’s necessary. Even that whitewash Project Bluebook left hundreds of cases as unexplained. One unexplained artificial object flying in our sky is really all that’s necessary.

    • EvilSheldon

Seeing a Flying Object that I can’t Identify. I never have, just so long as I had a set of binoculars around.

      • Chafed

Or even Sharon Stone looking hot again.

      • Brochettaward

I was abducted by a octtitted alien.

      • Brochettaward

I didn’t want to have to admit this. They wanted to study me for my Firsting powers. I resisted by all means available to me.

      • Brochettaward

Long story short, there are clones of me throughout the universe. Whether they all have access to their Third Eye, I cannot say. But if they do, it may be the greatest weapon available in the arsenal of the Gray-Titted ones.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

        Bless your hearrrrt.

    • Not Adahn

Well, an actual space craft and/or living alien would do it.

Otherwise it would take a LOT of little pieces, since the presuppositions it would have to compete against are:

      -FTL travel is impossible
-The universe is 2nd gen star metals) chemistry
-Life takes time and relatively consistent conditions to evolve.

    • trshmnstr

Strong, multiply corroborated evidence from non-governmental, disinterested sources.

Much like the 2020 election, the space around UFOs has been irredeemably tainted. If FedGov were to come out and say “look, here’s proof positive that 2020 was on the up and up”, I wouldn’t believe them. Same goes for politically motivated non government actors.

Practically, what does that mean? An incident witnessed by many people (dozens) that includes elements which cannot be hoaxable or explained through advanced military technology and leaves some unexplainable physical evidence.

  9. Grosspatzer, Superstar

Mornin’, Sean. 29 degrees here, I want my spring back!

    • Gender Traitor

‘patzie!!! 😃 Good morning! (And, of course, to you, too, Sean, plus TO’G if you’re still awake/around!) How’s retirement treating you?

      • Gender Traitor

Good morning, U! How are you so far today?

      • UnCivilServant

        cold and behind schedule.

      • Grosspatzer, Superstar

        Mornin’, GT.

It’s weird having no obligations after over 50 years. I need to establish new routines. So far I make dinner most days and do all the cleanup like a good househusband, joined a local church choir (struggling since my voice is in poor shape after not singing for 4 years). Once it warms up a bit I have a lot of work to do in the garden, the property is a disaster and unlike my neighbors I don’t have a fortune to spend on landscaping. My house sticks out like a sore thumb here.

      • Gender Traitor

You’ll get the hang of retirement, ‘patzie! Before long you’ll be waking up with nothing to do, then find yourself going to bed at night with most of it not done.

    • Gender Traitor

Call me paranoid, but as bad as this is, I dread the day they find a way to invade occupied homes with impunity. 😒

    • Brochettaward

Eh…how sure are we that this is an actual migrant and not just propaganda for the right? Angry looking migrant man yelling into the camera about squatter laws, firs posted on Twitter by some no-name right wing commentator.

Could be legit. It’s hard to tell these days.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

It is pretty on the nose.

      • Not Adahn

Now apply this logic to space aliens.

    • rhywun

Thankfully 30 days is only a NYC thing. Rest of the state it’s 10 years.

    • R C Dean

Many Latin American countries are very lenient with squatters. It’s a known risk of buying real estate in Central and South America. So what he is saying could be pretty much the way it works where he came from (assuming he’s an actual illegal, of course).

    Lovely.

  13. Fourscore

Forecast for 15 inches of snow, starting Sunday, running for 3 days. That’s X2 as much as we had cumulatively all winter. I brought the snowblower out of hibernation, snow shovel/ice scraper back to the door.

It’ll be cool enough for the snow to hang around for a few days, I’m really not complaining, we’ve been dry all winter.

    • Not Adahn

We’ve had cosmetic snowfalls the past couple of days.
