IFLA: The “Leftovers” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of May 12

by | May 12, 2024 | IFLA | 57 comments

I knew it would happen eventually.  Last weekend was spent with the girlfriend so we didn’t get to the park at our usual time (she is wonderful, but one of those chronically never-on-time people — still a keeper though) and none of Lily’s friends showed up during the weekdays (even though the afternoons/evenings were glorious as late May often is here).  So I have to reach back for some previously shot but never aired Lily vids.  There is no snow on the ground now.

Some kind of whiplashy stuff going on, but since you’re used to dealing with bad luck anyway, you can focus on the unexpectedly good things headed our way.

Monday and Tuesday are going to be really good days. An unusual construction involving Mercury, Venus and Jupiter means good fortune in all areas. Tuesday might have a bit (well, rather a lot actually) of instability since the moon and Mercury will be at cross-purposes but it should all work into the directions of Love and Happiness with Venus and Jupiter being the principal drivers. Then there is a really good day for Taurus on Wednesday when it adds Venus to its planetary stable. Thursday… well all good things have to come to an and, and boy do they ever, especially for Aries. Anger, hatred, rage, destruction, all of the things that happen when Mars and Saturn link up are what to look forward to on Thursday. Fortunately that doesn’t last too long, so maybe take a vacation day then.

Taurus: 9 of Swords reversed – Imprisonment, suspicion, doubt, reasonable fear, shame.

Gemini: Ace of Swords reversed – If you hit it hard enough, you’ll break it.

Cancer: Blank –

Leo: The Fool – Folly, mania, extravagance, intoxication, delirium, frenzy, bewrayment.

Virgo: Temperance reversed – Things connected with churches/religions, disunion, unfortunate combinations, competing interests.

Libra: 2 of Coins reversed – Enforced gaiety, simulated enjoyment, literal sense, handwriting, composition, letters of exchange.

Scorpio: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

Sagittarius: 10 of Wands – Oppression, any kind of success and then it is the oppression it. False-seeming, disguise, perfidy.

Capricorn: 3 of Swords – Removal, absence, delay, division, rupture, dispersion, heartbreak.

Aquarius: Page of Cups – Application, study, scholarship, reflection, news, messages, rule, management.

Pisces: King of Coins reversed – A rich guy is acting counter to your purposes. Moreso than normal, I mean.

Aries: Ace of Coins – Perfect contentment, felicity, ecstasy, speedy intelligence, gold.

Not necessarily bad if you happen to like those things.

  2. Gender Traitor

Last weekend was spent with the girlfriend so we didn’t get to the park at our usual time

Tell the truth: Lily now thinks of the GF as The Other Woman, doesn’t she? (And justifiably so!)

    • Not Adahn

      Lily loves the gf.

The gf stops by the house when I’m at work and plays with her.

Sagittarius: 10 of Wands – Oppression, any kind of success and then it is the oppression it. False-seeming, disguise, perfidy.

I finally get to kick the football!

Since I know nothing about astronomy or astrology and don’t care, everyday is a good one.

Yesterday the repair guy picked up my lawn tractor (pick up/delivery is $50 and worth it) and my neighbor agreed to replace some wood siding, scrape and paint the cabin. If past experience is any indicator their prices will be fair. Since these are not emergencies time is not of an essence. This should be the last time painting on the cabin, I did the work myself in the past but the gas gauge is running a little low these days.

Cabin is available anytime for Glibs, except HH, family always comes first.

      …family always comes first.

      The Bro abides.

Further reflection needed. I just got an adjustable butt plate for my Feinwerkbau 124*, but when I went to see about installing it this morning, I realized that the hole spacing isn’t in any way adaptable to my stock. So, I am not going to drill into the wood, but will, instead, put new mounting holes in the adaptor plate. No big deal, just annoying, as it is one more step to take as you already need to reshape the edge to fit the contour of the butt.

*This was the shizznitt air rifle 30-40 years ago, but now it is like going to the Monterrey classics; a very competitive for what it is, a high end sporter, but nowhere near the current 10-meter rifles, which are akin to an F1 car.

Butt stuff. Always with the butt stuff round here…

About to head your way- Im working in Euclid this week.
        Hopefully I dont get shot.

      • Nephilium

I grew up one suburb east of there. There was always the 185th bar crawl. Get dropped off at Lakeshore and 185th, and start walking towards the freeway, stopping in every bar for at least one drink.

    • Gustave Lytton

Did you make Oly and Lena jokes and slam on Iowa?

      • KK, Plump & Unfiltered

We touched on Iowa and hot dish

    • OBJ FRANKELSON

If their wasn’t near fisticuffs over a badly Euchre hand, it doesn’t count.

        If their *what* wasn’t fisticuffs?

    Nice dog videos.

Folly, mania, extravagance, intoxication, delirium, frenzy, bewrayment.

    Sounds sufficiently shitty.

    Re: Zelle

I tried five times. The first four times I was required to receive a phone call to write down an eight-digit number. My phone hung up on them without telling me a call had even arrived. After I figured that out, the call came and it hung up on me.

    Conclusion: Zelle sucks.

  15. grrizzly

It’s really bizarre that everybody spoke only Russian today in Moscow except for my partner and me. The previous time I visited the place was a few days before the 2018 World Cup with hordes of soccer fans already everywhere. Hopefully, it will be warmer than 40F tomorrow and later.

    • Brochettaward

We have sent many a Firster venturing into the land of the Slovak to teach them the Art Of The First. None have ever returned. A land of barbarity and cruelty.

      • Brochettaward

        and, of course, secondry.

  16. Mojeaux

    Seeds dropped to the squirrels.

  17. The Late P Brooks

    Conclusion: Zelle sucks.

Can I mail a check to Alfred? Is it the Terra Cotta Cafe, or did I hallucinate that?

    • Mojeaux

      You did not hallucinate.

  18. Fourscore

Smokey here today, Canadian wild fires, hazy and can smell Ontario.

Boy howdy, this Coddington Brewery in Newport is awesome. Apparently the 3rd microbrewery to open in RI (back in ’95).

Great place to visit with a massive menu – hope to make it here for Sun Brunch the rest of my stay here – esp being easy walking distance from the base. Was considering joining their mug club even though I’d only be here for a month – but sounds like their maxed out – will probably still buy a stein before I leave – different than the normal pint glass.

    • LCDR_Fish

Maybe they benefit from not having a social media, but having twitter/fbook is handy for linking/promoting too.

      https://coddbrew.com/

      • Ted S.

The site can’t provide a secure connection.

      • LCDR_Fish

might be a location issue. I don’t have issues (on my phone or laptop) with vpn, etc.

  20. KK, Plump & Unfiltered

I’ve been tryna purchase an Etsy gift card for my dad’s wife all damn day. Their gift card vendor’s website is down, and when it’s not down, it won’t accept my credit card. GAH.

  21. Shpip

I think there has been a misunderstanding, and now I’m in dutch with the missus (which is kinda my default status, but still…)

    • Ted S.

I hope your wife’s knee gets better.
