Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies

“Too damn awesome to pass up” I sense danger here.

Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies

This was going to be a movie called Carry On Screaming but that movie was not even tolerable. If you don’t trust my judgement, give it a try. That’s a link to it above. It was not funny, entertaining, or even engaging.

So! It’s an emergency fill-in movie I have only previewed! Danger danger! This could be something good, or it could be something bad. We shall all find out together. The reviews so far indicated this is a generic zombie comedy, in a world crowded with zombie comedies. It pulled off a decent film with good special effects but brought nothing new to the genre.

I’ll take it! B-movie shoppers, come on down and dig in the trash with me!

So watch! Or don’t! Everything is voluntary! And if this is awful, you can talk about your gardening, dogs, cats, or dinner plans. There are no rules on Thursday nights!

  1. Common Tater

I think I might have seen this?

    • R.J.

It resembles a lot of other films. I am starting it now.

    • Common Tater

      Yep, I’ve seen it

      • Chafed

        Where and when?

  2. DEG

Lederhosen. Will there be Dirndls too?

    Jumping in….

    • Common Tater

Not that I remember. Everyone was dressed for winter.

      • DEG

I caught a glimpse of a gal in a Dirndl dancing. The zombie investor bit her.

      • R.J.

I suspect it was an American release retitle. Have not checked trivia or alternate releases on IMDB to prove it though.

    • Evan from Evansville

      Evan strongly approves.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

        Very a-tracht-ive.

  3. DEG

Martin Loos? I’ve seen that name before. Was he in another movie you showed?

    • R.J.

Not that I can see. He has done only a little acting, almost all in Europe.

  4. Tres Cool

You need to add “Young Doctors in Love” and of course, “Jeckyll and Hyde- together again” for comedy night.

    • R.J.

I will keep that under advisement. I managed to get my act together and program out through July, as long as the 4th is an open post. Which I suspect it will be. Your suggestions can go in August.

      • Common Tater

I’m sure we can find a good 4th of July movie.

      • dbleagle

“Spirit of 76” is THE Bicentennial time travel July 4th movie. Moon Unit Zappa, David Cassidy, Carl Reiner, Olivia d’Abo, Devo, Leif Garrett, and Downtown Julie Brown (in a very libertarian role). Lots of cultural and music references.

For those who lived that day, it brings back memories. For those too young, it brings forth “WTF were grandma/pa and dad/mom even thinking?”

      • Common Tater

I never heard of it. Is it on tubi?

      • R.J.

That’s a great film. Don’t know if I can hunt it up.

  5. R.J.

I made a pork belly last night, $10 for a few pounds. I slow cooked it in the oven and finished it with a bottle of soy/ginger glaze. Today I served it with stir fry veggies and rice. It was great. Probably equivalent to eating a package of bacon.

    • The Other Kevin

I made bacon once with half a pork belly. The other half I cut into squares and put on the smoker. That turned out so good Mrs. TOK will no longer allow me to make bacon. Any pork belly goes right to the smoker. It’s like meat candy.

    • Common Tater

Did it taste like Chinese restaurant roast pork?

I know very little about asian food.

      • R.J.

It was the softest, sweetest pork. Really good. And cheap. As described above it really is meat candy. I cooked it for 2 hours at 250, applied the glaze, then 30 more minutes at 400. I cooked it fat side up. Astounding stuff.

      • R.J.

And it is definitely not your average pork you find in a Chinese dish. Much better.

    • DEG

      Yummy

    how’s that amendment coming, Gavin?

posturing, though, it’s good for business

    • The Other Kevin

“Barring civilian purchase of assault weapons that serve no other purpose than to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time – weapons of war our nation’s founders never foresaw.”

Definition of “assault weapon”, other than scary vague statement, not included.

      • UnCivilServant

I’m pretty sure the founders intended the citizens to be the army, and that there only be the Militia. So the technology never mattered.

      • dbleagle

Plus the Founders understood that citizens should be able to own “weapons of war” when they empowered Congress to issue letters of marque and reprisal (Art I Sec 8).

    • R.J.

I hope he slips on a puddle of his own hair gel, falls down the stairs and his corpse is vandalized by “Just Stop Oil” protesters.

      • Chafed

        You’re the hero we need.

    • Evan from Evansville

I don’t see IN there. No way in fuck would ‘we’ allow that shit. Marion County and Bloomington are hyper-blue, also in Lake County by Chicago, which comes w Gary! I was ignorant of just how Red IN was. Gotta get used to it. After Eville I was only 18+ in Bloomington for 4 years before I went to Korea.

Carmel is uncomfortably Blue. “Dirty Words” in Carmel-Clay public schools: Lord, God, pregnant(!), I’m sure tons others I’m sure; pronouns were a big deal; We kinda weren’t supposed to say “balls” when carting basket/soccer/etc balls. That doesn’t read as bad as it was in After-School.

    • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

At least he’s trying to do it via the amendment process.

      • Chafed

He needs to do something. He sure isn’t spending any time making California better.

  7. R.J.

Look at that. A basement full of war surplus. Convenient!

    • R.J.

Tonio, come to the white courtesy phone. Tonio…

  8. DEG

    MG-42 burnin’ down the house.

  9. DEG

    2001 Homage!

  10. DEG

    Not bad

  11. R.J.

That was a good movie for an emergency fill-in. I enjoyed it. A nice basic zombie film with good special effects.

    • DEG

Yes, it was a good one.

    • Common Tater

I haven’t finished it yet. Until my mom goes to bed, it’s difficult to have any uninterrupted time to myself.

      • R.J.

How is she doing, now that she’s home?

      • Common Tater

She is still tired and not eating well, but she is way better than she was after she was first admitted to the hospital. Then she was yellow and very sick. The hospital was giving her antibiotics so strong they needed to get special approval from infectious disease to give them to her. Most fortunately, they worked very well, so didn’t have do any kind of procedure. She’s on cipro now.

      • R.J.

Ciprodex is good stuff. I hope she stays stable and recovers.

      • Common Tater

        Thanks 🙂

      • Chafed

I hope your mother continues to improve.

      • DEG

I hope she continues to get better.

    • Evan from Evansville

Gotta love a flick that knows exactly what it is, committed to doing the best they can with what they got. I respect the hell out of that.

  12. Common Tater

I saw it about seven years ago, so I don’t remember it much.

  13. CPRM

The deer puppets are very reminiscent of the laughing deer head in Evil Dead 2.

    • Evan from Evansville

I felt kidnapped (in the nicest way that word can be used) when I was INvoluntarily being sent to an ER after every protestation. I was proven correct by the docs about my NOT needing to be there. That event, and the next week, were purposefully drunk away.

I did well in detox. I am not at all sure how I’d react to being involuntarily committed to a psych ward. That place looks fucking terrifying. Christ. I don’t believe I’d like to imagine.

    • R.J.

      Never meet your heroes?

    • Common Tater

      CWAA

    • Chafed

Enjoy your descent into chaos NYC.

  14. cavalier973

How about “Murder He Said” with Fred MacMurray?

    Or, “Condorman”?

    Or, “The North Avenue Irregulars”?

    • R.J.

Keep in mind, I Am Trash. Coming up:
Zombie vs. Ninja: Another Godfrey Ho masterpiece.
Hardware Wars: I bag on The Acolyte. Normally I don’t do such things, but Disney has angered me. I lost my Stoic.
The Ruling Class: Given everything going on, seems very appropriate.
After that, maybe our first documentary, Atari: Game Over.
I was talking to DEG recently. Apparently I have 92 movies started and not finished, according to TUBI. All of them are… Trash.
I look up every suggestion and do make an effort to show it, should there be a free streaming version. And I will add those. I need to update the spreadsheet of films again in the Forum.

Good morning, Sean, Stinky, and homey!

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

The crypto bros community is very influental to others in the crypto bros community. Think the nonNazi commenters at Zerohedge, very influntal to literally thousands of people worldwide.

    • Toxteth O'Grady

I was always in favor of self-insuring there anyway.

      • Gender Traitor

Yeah, when our professional employer org started offering that during open enrollment, I thought it was even more of a racket than human health insurance.

        Good morning, TO’G!

        I was thinking more:

        to disarm us
        to replace us with illegals
