I hired a lady that asked if she could further participate in the company’s ERG Program during the interview. Its a DEI initiative. She’s not a they/them, her spouse is. He’s one of those Vets that transitioned as a way to deal with PTSD. Yes, that’s really a thing.

Will I regret this? Probably. The next best candidates were a Hispanic guy that explicitly stated he was looking for an easy job to slip into retirement, and and another lady that said she was taking a downgrade because she really does like auditing (LOL). I’m just really tired of doing my old job and my new job at the same time.

At any rate, ¡enlaces!

Mexico elects a woman. Nothing else across two continents, billions of people from the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world occurred over the weekend worth noting by the corporate press.

No, nothing at all. Except maybe this. There is also this one from Al Jazeera. We do rag on them for being hilariously biased towards Jihadists, but nobody else had the dolmas to run with this headline in their editorials.

In case you needed another case how were just turning into Brazil.

Apparently the algos for Riven and I crossed. It happens.

I mean, he did say he was going to “Dollarize” the economy not go full Bukele.

I haven’t played Megadeth in a while, why not?

You don’t understand. I work in healthcare, and I’m surrounded by socialists that I had to explain MCR (Medical Cost Ratio) when they were upset the company took in Billions in revenue but could only give us a 1.5% raise.

This is an inevitability that I won’t be able to avoid.

Well good luck remembering to use they/them pronouns. It’d be easier to avoid talking about her husband if she didn’t also ask about the ERG.

    Sad.

Sydney Watson did a video about “trans widows”. The wife of the Mr. Beast sidekick being one of the more famous examples.

Also, “transitioning” to non-binary doesn’t make sense. I think it’s mostly a way for the kids these days to identify as trans.

Now that you mention it, that’s actually brilliant in the same way gay Catholics join the Seminary to reconcile their faith and avoiding marriage to a woman.

      • Nephilium

Wouldn’t just coming out of the closet as bi/queer be easier and less expensive?

      • Common Tater

Well, actually transitioning costs money. Merely identifying as non-binary doesn’t cost anything.

We are also in the age of nonsensical transitions. Even ignoring the huge horrible atrocities being committed on children. There are example like Dylan Mulvaney, who got FFS, but not hormones, facial hair removal, or a name change.

      • Certified Public Asshat

We’re talking about people who want to shake the responsibilities of marriage and family life. Slapping a wig on and taking hormones is easy enough to get back to single life.

Of more than 23 million Indigenous people in Mexico — nearly 20% of the population — well over half live in poverty, according to government data from 2022.

Indigenous people one country to the north have high poverty rates too, compared to the population at large. Maybe that points to culture.

I guess I should claim a win. My weedeater never was quite right from Day One. I always had to cheat the choke closed a little bit to get it to run WFO. The other day, when it pretty much did not want to run at all, I finally decided it was time to start fucking with the carb adjustment. Haha, not so fast. Thanks to our egghead betters in that big state which runs most of the way up the Pacific coast, Husqvarna doesn’t just use high and low speed adjustment crews with slotted heads in them. Oh, no. It’s some bastard 0.152″ 21-splined masterpiece of fastener engineering, buried in a protective enclosure designed to keep the rabble from even measuring, much less tampering with it. I discovered this after some fiddling around and youtubing and process of elimination and educated-guess-work on Amazon.

So- one $6 fancy screwdriver later, it seems to be running like a champ. I have rivulets of dried blood on my arm from clearing out the tall grass around the bases of the little apple trees to prove it. It looks like somebody went after me with a rake.

    Shocking

On Monday, Rubio’s confirmed that it had closed 48 of its California restaurants on Friday — more than a third of its already slimmed-down chain of 134 restaurants.

Rubio’s, in a statement Monday issued by media strategist Sitrick & Co., attributed the closings to the rising cost of doing business in California.

The company did not elaborate on the closures, which stunned some workers, but said they were “underperforming.” The move came two months after the state’s $20 an hour minimum wage took effect for fast-food employees.

The company statement said the decision came after a “thorough review of its operations and the current business climate.” A Sitrick spokesperson said no Rubio’s executive would be available to comment.

What are the odds there are legal repercussions for specifically blaming the new wage law?

Each person was charged with a felony count of forgery. All three are due in Dane County Circuit Court on Sept. 19, according to court records. They each face one felony count punishable by up to six years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.

It does not have an audible reset, but it’s still tactile. Plus he deep cleaned it. I don’t know if it was the degunking or the new disco or general polishing, but the trigger seems lighter now. It is now bordering on too light. I’ll see how it runs on Thursday.

Some bureaucrat complained today about an outdated document from our archive website showing high up in Google search results. So I updated the document on our live website, added some SEO keywords to the title and text, and put the page in Google’s queue to crawl and index.

That was yesterday. This morning, bureaucrat says that the old document is still the top result (not even 24 hours later), and isn’t there something we can do about that? And I realized he probably thinks that any bureaucrat can just command Google to do their bidding, after all the Tweeter files, etc. I really think he thinks that.
