Howdy folks. Good times, huh? Here in Spudville, the garden is winding down. Today is the last tomato and tomatillo harvest, I’m done making pickles, and the rest of the chilis will be picked as they turn red for drying. It turned out to be a better season than I originally thought.
Links?
Prolly not good news for Kammy.
Snitches get stitches and the school district needs a good bitch slapping.
For chrissake, is it November yet?
Well, Liz Cheney does live there.
I went to a fight and a concert broke out.
Owning a coffee house in a college town, I detect no lies.
FYI: THERE WILL BE NO IFLA POST TOMORROW. I MEAN, THERE WILL BE A POST, IT JUST WON’T INCLUDE YOUR WEEKS FATE.
Alrighty, I’m done. Peace out Glibbies.
Fuck you right in the pucker WordPress.
Hawt.
Is the 30 minute rule canceled if the post is late?
Yes, it is!

I am trying to clean up a pile of unopened mail on my counter. Some of it is more than a year old. I am not good at adulting.
I have an issue with paperwork. I look at it like a horse eyeing a rattle snake. I deal with it when it becomes necessary. On the plus side, my procrastination means that 95% of it is no longer relevant.
I have noticed that I refuse to take part in the things I hated about work. Refuse is probably to strong a word, but I do my best to avoid them. I hate phones, cell phones in particular. I get home, it goes on a shelf only to be picked up again when I leave the house. I cannot understand the texting, or watching a movie, surfing the web, whatever, on those infernal devices. Paperwork? Meh, no biggy. I took this over completely from my wife, as she would stuff mail in a basket (“gotta have a landing zone!”) and ignore it for months.
My FIL was in the same boat. He would not email in anyway once he retired. It seems to be a confirmation of having left the workforce.
I hate using a phone at work but unfortunately my boss(es) have other ideas about that.
It’s a Catholic school so the problem is that of the School/Parish/Diocese.
The bureaucratic requirements of ballots in Pennsylvania have long been the subject of litigation, with opponents of the date requirements arguing that they unnecessarily disenfranchise eligible voters. A group of voting rights advocates went to court in May seeking to block the provision, which required election officials to reject ballots that were incorrectly dated, even if the ballot reached them by the statutory deadline of 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Democrats of color are too dumb to be expected to fill out a ballot properly. Nitpickers are, unnecessarily disenfranchising them. They should be ashamed.
The PA Supreme Court is in the hands of Democrat judges.
I commented to the wife what I’d like to do to those arguing disenfranchisement. She was not amused.
One wonders how this brazen lie is not laughed out of every courtroom.
Late news from the Rialto:

This might be the final word, of course. There will be appeals.
First link. The only appeal is to the SCOTUS from the state SC.
“They needed Victoria Nuland.”
If. Only!
I would gladly do a trade where the Congo gets Nuland. We wouldn’t even have to get anyone back in exchange.
No shit. “No. No demands. Just that she not be allowed to leave.”
In exchange, you also take …
Fourth grade….Mark…uh…I forgot his last name…brought an MP-40 that his grandfather captured in WW2 for show and tell.
Sixth grade all the boys (mandatory) and girls (voluntary) had to pass the NRA gun safety course. We shot clays on the playground after getting our patches. Also, grade school once per year the Sheriff’s dept would send their trick shooter for a demonstration in the gym.
What has happened to our culture?
“Our Culture”- ain’t no such animal. These things you described are foreign to most of the United States, If you couldn’t keep “Your” culture that’s on you, I have no desire to perpetuate hillbilly, redneck, peckerwood, etc.. culture in my nice middle America town. I’ll keep my shit here and you can keep your shit there.
Ninth grade physics with Mr. Brand. His daughter was in my grade and hawt. We were charged with finding the velocity of a BB using a ballistic pendulum using physics. Kids brought their BB guns on the bus (I was poor and didn’t have a BB gun – definitely child abuse). We took our pendulums to the gym and shot at them, while someone stood beside them to measure how high the pendulum rose.
Did any kids get shot? No!
Did any gym lights get shot out? What is the statute of limitations?
Everyone carried a knife.
Did anyone get stabbed? No!
Where stupid things done with knives? No comment!
I made it to Sioux Falls. On the way I ran into a nice thunderstorm – near zero visibility, high winds, heavy rain, and hail. Thankfully it was small hail, and didn’t hurt my car. The bird I struck later doesn’t appear to have caused damage, but there was a few feathers and a dusty smear on the paint. I did have to trim off part of my bumper than had been damaged years ago but finally started to drag. It’s cosmetic plastic, so I was able to cut it with my new pocket knife.
I’m likely to reach the Honey Harvest between noon and two, depending on when I manage to get on the road and conditions between here and there.
No one is here. I think we’ve been had.
No one is where?
I am literally in FourScore’s front yard.
Sunday the 15th
Always the third Sunday in September.
Did you make arrangements to arrive early?
Tundra tells me I did. Of course he won’t be here at all.
I really want to make a Honey Harvest, but the timing just doesn’t work out with work and other annual trips planned around the same time. I’ve thought about a day trip, but 5 hours one way is just too much.
Juris, is that you who has relatives in northern Wisconsin? If so, what general area? I have a lot of relatives in the UP and also do fishing trips in northern Wisconsin.
FourScore, wife and friends were out to dinner. We are now properly settled, and will be put to work in the morning.
Pud, not me with family there. Closest connection was my dad was born in Wisconsin Rapids.
I don’t remember the specifics of last week’s IFLA, but this week has been a series of disappointments. Blowing on the dice for tomorrow’s prognostications.
I don’t believe there is one tomorrow.
An 11-year-old boy who alerted his principal at St. John the Apostle School in Virginia Beach after another student brought a bullet to class is in trouble at the school.
What exactly would merit suspension if someone brought a bullet to school? It’s a chunk of lead, sometimes surrounded by copper. Unless you know how to throw it at nine hundred feed per second, it’s pretty goddamned harmless.
Of course, the pig-ignorant reporter probably meant a cartridge, which would be equally harmless.
School principal needs to be beaten with a cricket bat until his/her ears bleed buttermilk.
You put a bullet in the furnace in reflects on your parents.

The schoolβs attorney, who serves as general counsel for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, wrote to Anderson that βthe school will not reduce the discipline,β said that the child should βbring safety issues to staff immediatelyβ and βplease confirm parents will support the schoolβs decision.β
That bullet story is even dumber than I originally expected.
The kid should have run shrieking from the room, I guess.
I used to have two or three .45acp brass cases on the dash board of my car. I picked them up off the ground at the range and tossed them into one of the little storage deals. I finally took them out because I didn’t want anybody to be unnerved by them.
Gen Z employees are entitled, too easily offended, lazy and generally unprepared for the workplace β according to their bosses.
Eh, they certainly have their fair share. I’ve got a person reporting to me who has been habitually late for longer than I’ve been his manager. Also chews through PTO pretty much as fast as it accrues. The company finally started using an actual timeclock system as opposed to just letting employees manually record their own clock in and clock out times (absurd for a high tech company not to already have some kind of automated time tracking system), and he assured me I would be pleased with what I’d see before they were implemented. Suffice it to say that I was not impressed. He’s been written up twice since March when timeclocks started, and shows no interest in improving punctuality. Nevertheless, according to him I’m his most valuable employee and should be rewarded to a raise and promotion this year.
He’s in for a disappointing review.
Somebody should give that kid one of these for his birthday.
The State of Wyoming has information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of Hillary Clinton.
The forest fires, or something more recent?
The best Puddles cover is βMad Worldβ by Tears for Fears
Well yeah, it has Haley Reinhart in it.
Sheβs really short
He’s also 6’8″.
We are in the middle of Minnesota and no one is here?
tap, tap is this thing on?
No.
Are you showing up tomorrow?
I plan to.
Unfortunately, I am still in Iowa.
My best friend from high school was perpetually late, so we typically bet on how late he would arrive. One time I won on him being a day late. You just crushed his record.
Swiss needs to know there is raclette here with his name on it.
I’m bringing my usual smoked salmon, along with summer sausage, salami, cheese, crackers, chips and homemade salsa, and deviled eggs.
I’m glad we finally got this sorted.
It’s been a running Joke for my entire life (presumedly based on some level of truth) that immigrants (usually Asians) ate stray cats and dogs (Keep Mr Mittens and Buddy inside after dark), it was never controversial and we didn’t want to ban the Celestrials we just fenced in our yards and leashed our dogs.
Puddles joined Primus last month to cover one of the greatest metal songs of all time.

So wrong it is brilliant.
And reread the goram lyrics off his cell phone!!!
Superb. We went to see him when he came to Boise. Awesome two hour show. He’s a master of physical comedy.
Primus, Les Claypool, musical and cultural ‘hero’ of mine.
Sailing the Seas of Cheese is fantastic, and the Brown Album is my favorite of his/theirs. Love he did South Park’s theme and other, kinda Glibby persona/ideas, projects+. Me likey.
Have you seen the story of how Primus did the theme song? This is from their 25th anniversary show. Age restricted so might have to refresh to get page to load.

There’s some hilarious songs in here. The version of Uncle Fucker had me laughing so hard I was crying the first time I seen it. Links to all the songs in the description.
I’m not seeing Uncle Fucka in the track list. π
I guess they didn’t want to use that title. It’s under Welcome to the Shindig!
LOL nice. T&P are my favorite. And Ike. Hell, any Canadians.
*duck, duck, gray duck
Goose. It’s fucking goose.
Is a gin & tonic a cocktail if you use bitters as an ingredient?
It has to have either a simple syrup, or fruit.
Does the lime count?
I’ve been adding blackberries lately. Though my gin ratio is awfully high.
No one should care the kid brought a bullet to school. The school needs a paddlin’ for busting either kid. I’m sorry for Bullet Boy. Snitch is, indeed, a bitch, and deserves all the stitches he gets. (I hope young enough to learn to not really do that.)
Mostly upset society is so pussified. I was 12 for Columbine, 1999. (Huh. Eight days BEFORE my 12th bday.) No one at my Indiana schools flipped out over it. No gun clubs/classes in Evansville
My bro has a pink Harris for Prez sign up. Features a raised fist inside an intersex symbol. “All in. Let’s Go.” may be included. Even Dad, who relishes “Guy-ness,” thinks Trump will be a monstrous dictator. They know me and haven’t asked how I’ll vote. They know my past habits and I’ve at least mentioned my voting history. Didn’t vote in ’20 cuz recovery + Mask Insanity + ‘Nobody represented me’ fervor. Haven’t mentioned or thought about revealing how/when I’ll be voting Trump this year. Even in Solid Red IN, I want my vote to ‘count’ as my stand against the lawfare. (Plus, Trump was 2nd best Prez in my lifetime, and Clinton mainly benefited from Soviet fall; ’94 Team Red Congressional pause; and Internet econ boom.)
I’m not sure I’ll bring it up myself. I’ll be honest if they ask. If it comes up, I will bring up how they’ll ‘have to’ accept all her failings. “Trump left Biden A WRECK!!@!” is assuredly burned into them. Mom is a True Acolyte, but she does listen. Dad is incapable. Bro.. it remains best for that conversation not to come up, especially with SiL there, in love with her Ginsburg shirt and everything It stands for. (She does not ‘understand’ politics, nor does Bro. All Feel-ery and Goodness, delicately paired with (hopeful?) confidence. This commitment is joyfully drizzled with a
homeculture-made smug sauce for extra zing. (Adds burn to any defeat. Jaws will break if the ‘unthinkable’ occurs. My “I-told-ya-so” will be left internal, though will add much joy, regardless. ‘Look at THIS shitty Harris policy.’ ‘How’s THAT working out?’ “Huh! Trump didn’t start any new wars.”Always see smiley faces in headlights. (Not like ya can change what they look like.)
I might be retrograde-old now but I honestly can’t understand how any normal (non-totalitarian) dude can vote for Harris. The Dems entire platform is about feelz and fetuses.
Then again my mom voted for both parties – it was always the economy, stupid. I was not raised a Party baby, despite the best efforts of the city school district.
Men are more pro-choice than women are. I think it is 33% of men are pro-life while 40% or woman are.
My parents were party people; they joined at the time in college life where that was the thing to do. Mom was, and is, D, while Dad was R.
I’d be so tempted to tell them that the Dem devotion could with just the slightest adjustment be full on evangelical Christianity.
Just say Hallelujah or Praise the Lord when ever they say something about her.
This may be the most openly underhandedly way to go about it.
“Peace be upon, Her,” interspersed with “Bless her heart” when necessary — Responses officially turned on. I’ll need to be sparing. They’re too kind to poke too much. They knew I poke and I know why they haven’t asked my thoughts on November. And yep– they’re acolytes. Far too much of Themselves invested into Team Blue. Pure Religious devotion, little more.
I’ve not brought up the nonsensical fear of “the end of Roe v Wade!” w ’em. Abortion is no longer federal. I think 37 states are a-OK w abortion, and when I checked, nearly all(?) anti states have friendly neighbors. See Indiana & Illinois. It should be IMO between a doc and gal, though yep – age and parental rights are tricksy. But whatever. Also, I love SCOTUS overturning Chevron WENT BACK to Ginsburg’s OG decision in DC Courts. Too much unpacking for that to make any punch, nor have they ever mentioned that case.
I am gonna ha
I am gonna have to walk a fine line in a couple weeks here, as I will be seeing both my mother, who is HARD D, and my brother who is religious. So, it is gonna take a lot of work to point out that my mothers politics have become a gospel, while my brothers the direct reverse. Love them, but this will be… interesting.
I don’t know what we did right with our zoomers, but they’re both hard workers and as far as I know, aren’t too easily offended. XY was ranting about having to correct someone and he seems to be kind but firm, until that doesn’t work anymore, then he gets increasingly firm. But he’s in charge, where he likes being and that’s part of it.
I have been “in charge” numerous times in my career. It is not a place I like to be. I don’t want to tell what to do. I now find myself in a situation where I have hired people around me who also do not want to lord over their fellow workers. They just want to “get shit done”. It is a good feeling.
He’s in charge of people who won’t get anything done without someone telling them what to do.
One night I picked him up and he was pissed off and ranting about his people’s lack of cleaning. He said, “It’s like they don’t even SEE what needs to be done!” I could barely keep my mouth shut, but he was self-aware enough to notice the look I gave him.
Dave Navarro not getting punched. https://youtu.be/QorKFQ50ZK0?si=WmlBWEFDv96DU6v5
On the right day, I’d love to teleport to join Honey Harvest. Distance, work+ make it quite impossible. I’m sure it is a fairly magical place where Folk can be Folk, without much Normal World-pretension necessary. Standard decency still applies, natch. (Unless I’m told or highly suggested otherwise.)
I wish y’all the best time possible. Certainly want to hear of stories and exploits.
Who killed Mr. Beedy last year? I hear it was in the sunroom with the J hook. (I have thoughts of …. someone’s (imminent?) guilt.)
Saw first trailer for The Joker (Deux). The first is brilliant, IMO. Stupidly, I first watched it ON the flight home from Thailand, when watching a film about mental descent was… let’s just say, not a wise idea. Phoenix is great at his job and I found it an interesting take on the nascence of Joker.
Lady Gaga is featured. I’m quite positive she’s a very interesting person. Certainly an actress. Didn’t care for her music, but her radio hits were ‘good’ at what they were and trying to be. Madonna was great in Dick Tracy, IIRC. I profoundly lack confidence the sequel will be much more than a way for folk to add a paycheck to their (non-Heath) ledger.
Hrm. Meant to spend tomorrow writing a bit. I find my real-life relation to Wolverine a proud addition to my resume, though it remains silent in public. May be a fun way to lean into a 5-year reminiscence of The Incident on September 22. I’m proud pride is my primal response to my life, despite my (everyone’s) list of regrets and my post-2019 journey. Ya fall so ya can learn to get up (and walk again). Funny enough, it hurts less when ya indent the landing.
Madonna can’t hold a candle to Lady Gaga by any measure, and I LIKED Madonna. I wish she would fade away because she’s ruining my adolescence.
I know less than zero about Lady Gaga but I can appreciate this sentiment about Madonna.
Madonna absolutely should disappear or age into happiness. Unlikely.
Need to rewatch Dick Tracy. Always loved it and not just as a kid.
Madonna has taken the skin of my childhood and now wears it as a porno SS uniform.
I pity the ZWAK. I was 12 when Hit Me Baby, One More Time came out in ’99. It was a lush age for a young lad. Every generation truthfully says it, but a helluva time for pop sexiness. I’ll keep to the memories. They get updated daily, regardless.
My first online pornographic experience was with Windows 3.1 at (no shit) openvaginas. com or net. Free and certainly had enough.
Would submit to Sexy-Era Madonna in SS uni. “Grrrrrrrruber…”
Harris says that if elected, she will expand the child tax credit and offer parents $6,000 for the first year of their childβs life
How do they go about collecting that year of life, syringe or electromagnetically? Better deal than the entire firstborn, amirite?!
Paid off my student loans… purposefully without child.. uh… What’s in it for me? Ah. Less of my money and a general feeling of goodness?
Have a bunch of poor, single, young men? Traditionally, ya’d send them off to another land. Now that’s happening here en masse… uh. It’s not a good long-term strategy. Nothing “long” is planned, natch, but yikers pikers. Team Blue wants to kill the 2nd Amendment for a reason, but there are far too many guns in the US for that. It’s not to end well if it continues, and I don’t see any indication anyone has a plan to even slow the acceleration.
No matter the results, Election (results?) Day sure should be interesting. Certainly riots if Trump wins. Not sure about Harris. Hrm.
The cat ladies will pay for it, too.
I like to refer to the cat ladies as female incels, but now I wonder how many of them were fucking like rabbits and aborting the consequences.
lol. That is a poor choice of wording.
Also bad policy, but the idea of trading $6k for a year of life is darkly funny.
Beats donating plasma.
In other news, abortion is now legal until the first birthday.
Morning, Glibs.
Have to get on the road to keep my schedule. See you guys later.
Good morning everyone!

Enjoying the first cup before reality sets in.
Left to themselves, the JI and wife quickly resolved the problems without my help.
Contrary to expectations MikeS didn’t call for bail money. No word from CPRM and DEG though.
Time to start the day, wish you all were here.
I’d be worried about drone strikes. π³

Hi, this is Cynnimon. Unfortunately, Dr. Candy passed away this morning from complications of COVID. He hired me last night to carry out his final wishes. Several times. My condolences to you, but please know he died with a big smile on his face.
He should have been vaxxed. Like 8 or 9 times.
Or at least taking horse paste.
