      I never claimed to be.

      I’m Anglo-Irish. When not sunburnt, I’m white.

      • Ownbestenemy

        Sorry, Anglo-[insert here] is canceled.

      • UnCivilServant

Your request for cancellation has been denied.

    HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Joe was coherently incoherent back then.

    • Ownbestenemy

Reminds me of just today telling coworkers “Wasn’t it a much better time talking about our sexual conquests rather than what some fuck head politician is saying?”

      • Fourscore

Certainly was less to talk about but much funnier today with so much to choose from.

      • Pope Jimbo

We had to stop the talk about the sexual conquests when our HR Honcho (who was from Montana) said it was baaaaad.

      • Ted S.

I figured with that beard nobody would want to be your sexual conquest.

  5. Timeloose

The Sloper Patreon call out made me do a spit take. Dam you Hat!!

    • slumbrew

I’m out of the loop – where’s Sloper been?

  6. Timeloose

Thanks all for the watch recommendations. I’m likely going to go for the 42 or 40mm sized case.

    • Sean

      Size queen.

      • Timeloose

        Don’t judge me!!!!!

  7. Gustave Lytton

I’d still like to see Hope and Kayleigh McEnany jello wrestling.

  8. Gustave Lytton

It might sound sad. Or it might sound funny. But that’s what politicians do for power. 🎢

My 630am-730pm workday went mighty quickly. Made solid headway with the SOPs on disconnecting donors. The set-up process was established before. The former isn’t really more difficult in terms of procedure, but w donors being right there and usually a trainer over my shoulder kinda messed w my head today for a bit. Then I settled in nicely. Off tomorrow and Fri, Sat and Sun should be a riot. (Will lead to my next week being considerably more chill.)

According to Them, I’ll begin pokin’ donors myself next week. That’ll be interesting. Part of me senses it’s much easier. The folk there are gettin’ paid and know it ain’t all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. It will be stressful, considering these folk are (mostly) regulars. Some have ‘favorite’ phlebotomists. I will not be that person, though eventually I’m quite positive I’ll become such.

Still awaiting that first paycheck. I’ll be floored in all the best ways. Eagerly anticipatory. *fingers twiddle*

    • UnCivilServant

“What’s this FICA, and why is it taking all my money?!”

“According to Them, I’ll begin pokin’ donors myself next week.”

      Everyone has a first day.

      • MikeS

        Did you say “First”?

      • Tres Cool

bro doesn’t..he was second on his first dat

      • Brochettaward

I First for your sins, and I turn the other cheek as you cast your stones at me.

  10. Ownbestenemy

I’d get worked up about the allegations towards Tenet Media about Russian money if you know…the multitude of foreign agents found among the ranks of our government officials and said officials were held accountable.

  11. Ownbestenemy

I don’t like this article and we shouldn’t say “well, ya?”

    https://redstate.com/joesquire/2024/09/04/breaking-alleged-apalachee-shooter-was-known-to-fbi-made-threats-last-year-n2178930

    Slippery slopes do exist

At that time, there was no probable cause for arrest or to take any additional law enforcement action on the local, state, or federal levels.

Proper response from the FBI. But people will be up in arms that they should have just arrested him and violated his rights all with the magic of hindsight.

    • Brochettaward

That will include people on the right.

But there is a laughable tendency of the FBI to declare that these people were on their radar.

      • Gustave Lytton

They’ve currently got about 400M people on their radar…

  12. Mojeaux

The “It’s a great deal, Mom!” Theseus car strikes again. *sigh*

    • UnCivilServant

Sounds like a lesson on false economies. Up front costs might be cheaper, but in the long run it wasn’t the better deal.

    • Sean

      Stock up on duct tape.

  13. Mythical Libertarian Woman

I know odds are low anyone’s going to see this because it’s so late in everyone else’s time zone, but just in case someone sees this in the morning: I just saw that my Woke Charmed Tudors posts are scheduled out of order, the first episode is queued for 11:00 AM on September 5 but the introduction post is scheduled for September 12! If any site editors see this, could you rearrange that order please? Thank you!

    • Pope Jimbo

Why are you trying to make us conform to your conception of linearity? Some of us might like jumping right to the good stuff first.

Back when I was a youngster and books on programming were still a thing, I’d always buy the Advanced book. I figured, all the basic stuff was in there as well and I could learn about it at the same time I was learning the fancy stuff.

In any event, best of luck on your posts! Hope they go well and you get lots of comments.

      • UnCivilServant

’d always buy the Advanced book. I figured, all the basic stuff was in there as well and I could learn about it at the same time I was learning the fancy stuff.

You want me to believe that you owned books?

      • UnCivilServant

I find it less credible that you were an instructor in South Carolina.

    • Suthenboy

I am seeing it. I miss your ‘woke’ articles. I would love more of them. ‘Woke’, after all, is such a rich field with low hanging fruit as far as the eye can see.

    • rhywun

      Charmed Tudors

zOMG? No idea what this is but squee!

      • Ownbestenemy

Right? Was such a good series from MLW!

Good morning, Sean, U, Suthen, and Ted’S., and good…whatever time it is where you are, Your Holiness!

      • Gender Traitor

My boss is back from vacation today, so I guess I really should finish writing up the Board minutes (***SIGH!!!***) but other than that, I’m fine. How about you?

      • UnCivilServant

I’m trying to work out how to get my stuff back to my car for when I leave. This hotel is designed to maximize hassle for the customers.

      • Gender Traitor

Grab a luggage cart as soon as you find one, no matter how early, and stash it in your room until you’re ready to pack up and load out.

      • Ted S.

The same way you got your stuff to your room, just in reverse.

      • UnCivilServant

You see, there’s the problem, the bellhops hide the carts in employee only zones. I don’t want the hassle of dealing with them again.

      • Gender Traitor

        πŸ˜’

      • UnCivilServant

Plus, the door closest to the elevator is a valet zone where they will want to steal my keys.

The other door requires walking through the casino. πŸ™

    • Suthenboy

Thieves see potential loot. They never stop scheming to get it. Their greed is insatiable.
Do they have rope in upper Darby township?

      • Suthenboy

Also, what is ‘earned income’. It sounds straight forward enough but I know better than to make assumptions. Is this anything like the unrealized capital gains tax?

      • Suthenboy

I am going to re-propose my constitutional 15% total tax limit payable in cash/check on or the day before Election Day.

  15. Suthenboy

Just brought coffee to the Mrs. in bed. She has the news on. Commentator was asking some dude with a Spanish language accent (dunno where he is from or what culture or heritage he has) where the ‘Spanish community’ stands on Donnie Two-Scoops.
    Ugh.
‘The Spanish community’ is not a thing. In order for a set to exist, even if sets exist only in our minds, all of its members must have attributes in common. The set of all red tea cups is a thing. The set of all gar fish is a thing. The set of all dumbasses…it gets a little fuzzy…but you can say that is a legitimate set. The ‘Spanish community’? I dont think so.
Like nearly everything posited or queried in political campaigns it is gibberish.

Something always overlooked: None of the things people ask candidates or actions candidates claim they will take are within the powers granted to the President under the constitution. That those questions are asked or actions proposed by candidates seems to show our natural tendency to tyranny. There is no all-knowing wise man who can show us children the way. No brave hero to slay all dragons.
For that reason those powers were not given to the office of the president very deliberately by our founders. Equally as troubling to me is congress’ strong tendency to shirk those very same powers granted to it by the constitution. Humans despise above all things truth and responsibility.
We really, really need a course correction. +

    • Not Adahn

I used “Donny Two-Scoops” in a different forum and the people there claimed to have never heard it before. I keep forgetting this place is not typical.

    • Grosspatzer, Superstar

I think I am a member of the “Spanish community” since mom was Puerto Rican (both parents born in P.R.). But I speak no Spanish, Mom had the quaint idea that assimilating into the local culture and language was a good thing; it also helped that she could speak Spanish to abuela when discussing things not meant for my young ears. She also read Ayn Rand in her spare time. When 8 year old Patzer asked why we didn’t take government handouts (things were tough for a single mom in the ’50s and early ’60s) she explained that if she did so the government would own her. This was our Spanish community.

      • Ownbestenemy

Huh..given my overt whiteness, I heard the same thing from my mother during the ‘rough’ years. Amazing isn’t?

      • Suthenboy

There is no ‘Spanish community’. This non-existent set consists of wildly varying cultures, backgrounds, and different versions of Spanish. The members of that set do not have significant attributes in common.
You and your mother separately are real things. Where you stand on issues and candidates matters.
Sounds like your mom is a real good egg. Smart girl.
Maybe we could refer to people who prefer to be owned and people who prefer not to be owned as two sets. Those two are composed of individuals with important attributes in common.

    • Suthenboy

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men….

    • rhywun

tasked by his own bosses at parent company Warner Bros. Discovery to restore CNN’s journalistic credibility by shedding its left-wing partisanship

LOL a more innocent age. None of that nonsense anymore. Prog forward!

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Yes, if they’re going to shed their left-wing partisanship he’s just the guy to do it. But seriously though, what are they thinking?

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Whoops, misread that-not why he was rehired. Anyway, the man sucks.

      • Suthenboy

They are going to restore their journalistic credibility with Brian Stelter? Who is going to vouch for him? The Washington Post?

Honey I swear it will never happen again, please give me another chance.

  16. Grosspatzer, Superstar

    Mornin’, reprobates!

    • Gender Traitor

      Good morning, ‘patzie! πŸ˜ƒ
