Andraz Egart
Slovenian hiker/backpacker/climber. Explores the Slovenian and Italian Alps on foot and with rope. He often stays in cliffside shelters overnight and climbs and hikes all year round. I can’t say enough about this guy’s videos – they are almost always fascinating and sometimes nausea-inducing. The filmmaking, narration, and editing are all top notch. This guy deserves far, far more than the 55K subscribers he currently has. Go watch and subscribe and share!
Greenland Airports: live feeds of…Greenland Airports. Tons of aurora borealis at the right time of day/year.
Backyard Chef: I don’t know that I’ve seen a video of his that actually takes place in the back yard, but not to worry. He’s got some nice, simple recipes for lots of different types of cuisine.
Boats vs. Haulover: comedy mashup of Steve Inman-style commentary with boats attempting to exit and enter Miami’s Haulover Inlet. Just some silly fun in dump-sized chunks.
Thanks, KK. The hiker one looks excellent. Subscribed.
Same with the backyard chef. Do you follow Cowboy Kent? He’s got some fun recipes as well.

that accent got to be fake
Tim Farmer is pretty effin’ good.
The Larch…
I’m already into one of the Backyard Chef videos.
I’ve bookmarked it.
Asianometry
Video essays on business, economics, and history. Sometimes about Asia, but not always.
Good bit of tech and history. Not dumbed down, but not requiring specialized knowledge. Lots of history.
I wonder if those cliffside shelters have indoor plumbing. Because if you have to go outside in the middle of the night to take a leak…

For some weird reason I have been watching an Arvin Haddad fella who criticizes supper expensive real-estate
The live cams on YouTube are pretty cool. When my son-in-law is underway my kid and I stalk the ship. It’s a fun thing we do together because I know it’s tough for her to be away from him for a month at a time. Navy ships usually turn on their trackers close to shore, so you can usually see the Nimitz as it leaves Bremerton and again when it approaches San Diego. This is a good site for ship locations:
https://www.marinevesseltraffic.com/2013/02/military-ship-track.html
Then you can watch it pull in, pull out, and dock on the San Diego live cam. There are some cool ships there now. Once my sister and her family were in San Diego and missed him by 2 days.

Every now and then you get some really interesting videos.

Oh wow! Never anything that exciting, but seeing those huge ships maneuvering around with 6 or more tugs is cool.
I saw a few of the Slovenian guy a while back.
For some weird reason this was just recommended to me

a while back I watched a joe robinette fella camping with his dag
Wow. That’s an amazingly nice setup!
Still not winter camping anymore.
I’ve been watching some of this guy’s videos, https://www.youtube.com/@PeterSantenello. His series on the various Indian reservations is interesting.
That hiker video looks pretty interesting. I’ll check it out.
Peter’s videos about Titus, the Amish-adjacent farmer/preacher, are pretty cool.
Titus refuses any state issued ID of any kind. Walks or hitches to where he needs to go. Begrudgingly pays his property tax in cash and coins.
One of us. One of us. . . . .
Jr Hero watches Electoboom. It’s a guy that likes to test gci connections and electrocutes himself on a regular basis.
Does he revive himself on a regular basis?
Electrocution, by definition is the fatal outcome of an electrical shock.

Damn, that one took a couple minutes.
Watching Haulover Inlet kicking ass.
That doesn’t seem too rough, just a normal restricted inlet. Once you are clear of the low speed zone, get the power in and go on plane.. We travel via the OCMD inlet all of the time with bigger waves on the ocean, Yes you have to power down if it is going to be a big drop on the back of a wave.
I prefer boat launch shenanigans.

I LOLed. The fact that it is under “Loss of Loved One” is just . . . *chef’s kiss*
So that account DM’d me one day and offered to send me money and wanted my banking details. His account isn’t fishy. His bio isn’t fishy. Nothing about him screams scammer but he says he wants to send me money. I question him about this. He insists he wants to send me money. I question further. Blocks DMs.
I still don’t know what to think.
Habe him send you a money order to a PO box

https://www.npr.org/2024/12/10/nx-s1-5223368/luigi-mangione-united-healthcare-ceo-ghost-gun
Luigi Mangione, the suspect charged in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was carrying a “ghost gun” at the time of his arrest, authorities said.
The 26-year-old was “in possession of a ghost gun that had the capability of firing a 9 millimeter round” when he was arrested in Altoona, Penn., on Monday, New York Police Department (NYPD) Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at a press briefing.
The NYPD said the gun, which is “consistent with the weapon used in the murder,” may have been made on a 3D printer.
The stink of set-up grows stronger every day.
Cited without evidence.
It’s in the public record now. Doesn’t matter if it is true or not.
I absolutely do not believe that’s the guy. If he is, he’s a patsy.
‘that had the capability of firing a 9 millimeter round”
That’s just a very weird way of wording that. If it was am, wouldn’t you just write ‘a 9mm ghost gun’.
Spooky
Most ghost guns can only shoot ghost bullets which can only execute ghost CEOs.
This was an extra dangerous ghost gun. The 2nd Amendment OBVIOUSLY shouldn’t apply here.
Well, the contract is pending on my house. I have done the repairs required, I should be homeless by January 4. New stately R.J. Manor should be finished by March 15th.
[[[Mormon]]] Twitter is fighting over why Muslims were granted access to one of our church buildings to worship, wherein they covered all representations of Jesus on the walls to do so, and if this is wrong or not.
Came across this: “Peacemakers are neither pacifists nor warmongers.”
That puts things in a whole new light for me.
Why would they need your building to pray? Don’t they just need to face a compass point?
I don’t know the circumstances. I believe it happened in Australia.
Australian Mormons. The mind boggles.
😉
Yeah, I kinda went, “Oh, figures,” when I first ran across it.

I’ve watched a couple and it’s fairly interesting in the “traveler sometimes puts himself in precarious situations” category.
A big Thumbs up to Egart. I enjoy watching from afar. If I grew up with rock climbing I would’ve gone a long way with it. (I wonder how far, especially to places and parks + I’ve been to. Hrm.) OTOH, I enjoyed camping, especially in groups with a casual theme, buuuut.. no. I do love to watch, learn, and relish that *I’M* sitting in central heating with running water and comfort. I don’t want to spend time and money to be uncomfortable.
HOWEVER. It would be great for me. I need much more Outdoor Time. I’ll likely add golf, and possibly fishing, to add shit I enjoy and add to my old-timey stereotype count.
