OK, I always support the funniest option: I want Thomas to start laughing as soon as this clown starts talking and just keep laughing the entire time.

I’m not really against transpeople. I honestly don’t care what adults do to themselves as long as I don’t have to pay for it, but also it’s hard not to laugh at their political advocates. It’s just funny. This tiny woman filled with male hormones thinks she should be considered male for no other reason than she demands it.

Jury in Daniel Penny trial asks to see several videos including police bodycam footage

Given the FULL RETARD of NYC, I assume that Daniel Penny will be convicted. He murdered one of the left’s beloved pets and that is a crime they cannot let go. I say pets, because that’s kinder than assuming they leave severely mentally ill people roam free as some sort of bizarre and dangerous variety of street theatre.

But remember this: Neely had been arrested 44 times, including for kidnapping a 7-year-old in Times Square. If the NYC justice system had done its job, Jorden Neely would be alive and safe right now in prison.

The world needs more heroic monkeys.

It’s odd to think I’ve experienced both the kids not knowing what Joy Division is and the kids not knowing what Interpol is. I often wonder what the next thing the next generation won’t know… There are just so many things to be ignorant about. It’s staggering, really.

That’s how I feel about the trans issue too. If you want to transition from a man to a woman or vice versa, do you but just leave me out of it and don’t demand that I go along with your gender issues. And definitely don’t bring my kids into it either.

    And also first…I think?

    • SugarFree

Oh, you firsted all up in this bitch.

    • Nephilium

Same here, with the caveat that (especially when talking about actors) I’ll use the name they used when they were in the role, not whatever they’ve change it to since. As an example, Eddie Izzard was in Mystery Men, and Ellen Page was in Hard Candy.

      • Chafed

        Seconded.

      • Rat on a train

        +2 Wachowski Brothers

      • KSuellington

        +2 Wachowski Sisters.

      • rhywun

        Eddie Izzard changed his name?

I’ve seen him perform – anything “female” he is playing at seems like performance art to me.

      • J. Frank Parnell

Ellen Page was in Hard Candy

She was also in Umbrella Academy, but Netflix retconned the credits to the first 2 seasons to say “Elliot Page”

      • Nephilium

        rhywun:

I just learned that earlier this week, he goes by Suzy now, but apparently isn’t a dick (or would cunt be appropriate?) about it:

Izzard went by Eddie as a personal name until 2023, when she prepended it with Suzy, saying “People can choose what they want. They can’t make a mistake. They can’t go wrong.” She continues to use Eddie in professional contexts.

    • Drake

Transitioning a child who has no concept of what s/he is doing is monstrous.

That child will now face a lifetime of never having an orgasm even once. That has to have big psychological consequences. Hard to imagine a happy future for those kids.

    • slumbrew

The erasing of gay & lesbian youths is just fucking insane.

“You’re not gay, you’re a girl trapped in a boy’s body! Hormones and surgery, stat!”

      What the fuck?

      • rhywun

It’s amazing that nobody is making that obvious point. I think the MSM is just so obsessed with the constant search for the next shiny thing that they’re happy to through the founding members of the alphabet soup under the bus to make that happen.

      • Drake

Then gay or straight, you are sexually crippled for life.

      • Mrs. Dafuq

        Trans the gay away!

      • Atreides

We’ll finally achieve equality when we all have our sex organs removed.

    • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

Amen. And congratulations on the first.

    • UnCivilServant

It’s wrong to leave that much mental illness untreated, or to exacerbate it through medical malpractice.

    • rhywun

On top of all this I am severely irritated that this stuff has been eating up all the air in the room as The Most Important Issue of Our Time for the last several years.

I suppose it makes excellent click-bait, though.

      Enough already.

    • Suthenboy

I think that is the normal person’s stance. I have a real problem with the agitators trying to shove this insanity down our throats and the mengelesque monsters mutilating children. A big problem with that.
It is obvious that this is a calculated, malicious attack on our culture – an attempt to normalize evil.

    • Brochettaward

I regret to inform you that you broke a cardinal rule of Firsting by asking whether you Firsted or not. In doing so, you violated terms two and four of the Firster’s Compact of 1067 BC.

      • Tundra

Had to be quick with a chisel back then, huh?

    • Mrs. Dafuq

      To add:

      1. Be an adult to transition.

      2. Do not expect me to participate in your mental illness.

      3. MtF: Stay out of women’s bathrooms. Yes, we can tell. No, you don’t pass. Yes, you’re still intimidating to young girls and yes, we know you’re getting your rocks off to forcing women to participate in your fetish,

      4. MtF: Stay out of women’s sports. There’s a reason the sexes are divided and that reason is males are stronger than females.

      5. MtF: Stop threatening women with violence when we tell you no. You don’t get special treatment just because you throw a temper tantrum.

      6. MtF: Understand this: You are not a woman. You will NEVER be a woman. Stop changing the language to force the idea that women are to be treated as a subset of men-who-are-performing-women, and, further, that you’re a superior being. You are not. You are a man. That’s what we call men, even ones who pretend to be women.

This issue is a lot more harmful for women than men, and it’s absolutely enraging.

      • Muzzled Woodchipper

It’s different, I think, but no worse.

Boys are being chemically castrated and de-dicked because they put on mom’s shoes one time. He was forced to do that because mom is a neurotic cunt eager to fit in with her brunch girls.

      • whahappan

Muzzled, I do think it’s worse, but only in the sense that FtM aren’t a threat to men like MtF are to women.

      • db

This issue is a lot more harmful for women than men, and it’s absolutely enraging.

Men increasingly participating in women’s sports; Women hardest hit?

    Tag this as links.

It no show up in banners.

  3. Muzzled Woodchipper

Yeah, I feel that way about the body snatchers too. Don’t care what they do. But what I will not do is foster the fantasy world they’ve built, while denying the real world the rest of us live in. A men dressed as a woman is not a woman and should not be treated like one. That’s how we get men in women’s sports. I will treat them with respect, so long as that doesn’t involve denying reality.

  4. ElspethFlashman

I didn’t use to care for Joy Division. Now it’s a regular on my youtube shuffle.

    • Chafed

Ever since I heard Nine Inch Nails cover Dead Souls I was hooked.

  5. juris imprudent

I often wonder what the next thing the next generation won’t know…

That there was once this thing called ‘science’ and it really worked well, until people couldn’t stand how well it worked and they turned it into a mockery of its former self.

    • Suthenboy

This. It has been poisoned to death by government money. The whole of Academia as well.

  6. Tundra

I love that song so much.

Like a monkey loves his rescue kitty. And that’s a lot.

    • Chafed

      Apparently!

To convict, prosecutors have told the jury that Penny’s use of lethal force must be considered unjustifiable and that Penny acted recklessly and consciously disregarded the substantial risk of putting Neely in the chokehold for so long. Defense attorneys told the jury that Penny was only trying to protect subway passengers.

Well, when you put it *that* way…

Back when I was working in the court system, defense attorneys often employed strategies known simply as “NK” (the victim Needed Killin’) or “DSF” (defendant Did Society a Favor). I’m fine with the jury rendering either verdict in this case.

  8. DEG

If the NYC justice system had done its job, Jorden Neely would be alive and safe right now in prison.

    Heh.

Florida Man runs afoul of Fourscore’s friends, has an argument with gravity, and lives to tell the tale.

I assumed that alcohol was involved, but apparently the guy wasn’t even buzzed.

Ordinarily, I’d give the fellow an “A” for his stunt work, but we grade Florida Man on a curve, so he gets…
    (dons sunglasses)
    … a Bee-plus.

    • slumbrew

Florida Man confirmed – nice teeth tooth.

    • Bobarian LMD

This Florida man not only survived the vicious bee attack but also the fall.

Florida Man, like Bruce Willis in ‘Unbreakable’, can only be harmed by water. Or stabby, cracked-up girlfriends.

      • Shpip

You think Florida Man can be harmed by water?

I gotta tell you, Florida Man takes to water like a giant, meth-addled duck. All the better to molest the manatees, randy dolphins, bull sharks, alligators, and giant prehistoric herring.

It’s not like we pass all our time hanging out near the bug zapper. Have to do something else for fun once in a while.

      • Bobarian LMD

I should have specified clean water.

    • juris imprudent

Well at least you didn’t drone on endlessly.

      • Shpip

You’d expect him to wax rhapsodic after that episode.

I was more impressed with him surviving the fall without injury (other than the nasty case of shingles).

    • Pope Jimbo

I must be allergic to your puns. It gave me hives.

O’Keefe Media Group talks to a NIH employee

“I haven’t gotten the latest COVID shots, and I’m not going to… there’s mixed evidence about if it really does anything,” says Raja Cholan, Chief of the Health Data Standards Branch at the U.S. National Library of Medicine for The National Institutes of Health.

Cholan, who defines the strategy for health data standards at the NIH, raised concerns about vaccine risks, particularly for younger individuals: “For people that are 30 or under, it really increases your risk for heart conditions. The data does show that… I’m close enough to 30 to where I don’t want to have a heart attack.” He added, “I probably shouldn’t be saying this out loud,” acknowledging the sensitivity of his statements around vaccine safety.

He also expressed doubts about the vaccines’ effectiveness, adding, “I don’t even know if these vaccines stop you from getting COVID. They don’t.”

    • The Other Kevin

It amazes me that they are still pushing these shots. Financially there is money to be made, but who besides Taylor Lorenz is getting boosters?

I remember one of the big turning points for COVID. One day I started seeing FB posts from people saying they got all the boosters, but now they have COVID and it’s WORSE than the first time. That was the big stake through the credibility of “public health officials”.

      • rhywun

I started to suspect it was all bullshit the moment everyone did a complete 180 on masks.

      • Suthenboy

I was mostly on the fence until the masking recommendation. I already knew, as did the people recommending it, that masks are useless….unless you are trying to get sick. They help with that.
From there it as a short hop to “Holy shit, these guys are lying about everything.”

    • Tundra

So why the fuck aren’t you raising hell, you cowardly piece of shit?

      • juris imprudent

Now that would really get him in trouble.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Do they have hell in India?

    • rhywun

I never got why only younger hearts are at risk – if the jab is not effective why risk my old heart on it either? Or is it just the old hearts are already wore out?

      • Sensei

It’s possibly how strongly a young person’s immune system reacts and the effects on the heart.

      • Bobarian LMD

When our old ass dies of a heart attack, they can blame it on being old, or lifestyle, or some other thing that is totally our fault and not the chemicals we coerced you into injecting into your system.

It gets harder to hand wave away a 23 yo dying three weeks after the shot.

    • Sensei

Remember when they were rationing these shots to certain big shots and cohorts of people? I especially liked teachers teaching remotely as being able to cut the line.

Now they can’t give them away.

      • Pope Jimbo

King Walz allowed the teachers to jump the line and get the first shots here in Minnesoda. Then after they all got the shot, the teachers still refused to go back to the classrooms.

That was a big kick in the pants to my old school Democrat aunt. She and her husband are old and sick and they had to wait for the teachers to get their shots first.

Before that, she loved Walz. Afterwards, she was a bit more open to the idea that he might be the asshole I said he was. Now? She’ll tell you he wasn’t ready for the national stage and running for VP.

I like my aunt a lot, so I don’t rub her nose in it.

NH is number 3 in outbound cigarette smuggling

New Hampshire is the No. 3 state in the country for outbound cigarette smuggling, resulting in a revenue windfall, concludes the latest annual report on interstate cigarette smuggling from the Tax Foundation and Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

From 2007-2022, New Hampshire earned $955 million in state revenue from cigarette buyers who then smuggled their purchases to higher-tax states, according to the report.

(At $1.78 per pack, New Hampshire has the lowest tobacco tax rate north of Virginia.)

    • Rat on a train

Virginia is only 4th. It must have been all the NY cops coming down.

    • Rat on a train

Flavor bans have been imposed in Massachusetts and California. Following the imposition of a flavor ban, smuggling skyrocketed.
      Who would’ve thunk?

I say pets, because that’s kinder than assuming they leave severely mentally ill people roam free as some sort of bizarre and dangerous variety of street theatre.

I have used the term in the past in similar situations, and where the left will rush to the “defense” of some severely handicapped person in an untenable situation as a symbol of their righteousness.

Are you getting paid time and materials or one price for the job?

I find it hard to believe they are just going to have patients waking up. So my question in addition to the insurer being a dick how and why do the providers unnecessarily game the system for higher reimbursements?

      • Suthenboy

This. When you see companies behaving like this it is not because they are evil, it is because they are operating on a thin margin or they have figured out someone is cheating them. In this case I am guessing cheating. They picked that one thing because of a reason.

      • EvilSheldon

Or, stay with me here, perhaps the DEA is up someone’s ass about anesthetic meds being diverted to black-market sale?

      • Mrs. Dafuq

They won’t be waking patients up or denying the anesthesia. The insurance company just won’t pay that portion over the allotted time limit.

    • Ted S.

Note that the tweeter doesn’t link to the ASA’s assertion that this is happening.

I saw a movie once about a byzantine spy who implanted himself in an island community. For 50 years he documented every aspect of every individual’s lives on that island. Upon retiring he went to Constantinople to see the collection of his work. His boss had died and no one much knew or cared. At the hall of records no one knew who he was, none of his reports were ever read and they were stored in the back of a giant Indiana Jones style warehouse. The functionaries of the bureaucracy were just drones going through the endless motions, none of which came remotely close to the supposed goal of their agency. Procedure procedure procedure.
Humans just keep making the same mistakes over and over again. At least we have computers now. Think of poor old Ogg back in the Pleistocene having to heave all of those stone tablets around and store them.

    • creech

I saw that and my first reaction was “there should be no charge for FOIA requests, the public already owns – and is entitled – to see public documents.” But then I thought, “if there was no charge then every Tom, Dick and Harriet in lefty organizations (or righty, for that matter) could completely budget-bust government agencies (even legitimate, constitutional ones like DoD or State) with endless requests to produce every piece of paper, e-mail, and whatever that agency touches.

      • EvilSheldon

Still waiting to hear the problem here…

That is obviously a different species than the hognose snakes we have around here. The ones here spin around fast as lightning and squirt shit all over you. It is an effective strategy.
I once had a juvenile otter do that to me as well. Also, an effective strategy for the otter.

I’ve been thinking about Cods & Cuntes II: Trebuchet Boogaloo and realized I haven’t really started yet because I don’t really understand the politics of the time. I’ve been listening to videos on Henry VI and then I realized they’re not going to be in England most of the time. I’m trying to write a quest, which I’ve never done before.

    • The Hyperbole

Welp in my personal situation but I just wrapped up the best year I ever had (by far, like 50% over my previous best). I’m already scheduled out for the first quarter of 2025, and I could schedule further out but I don’t like scheduling that far as construction is filled with surprises. That’s some nice journaloing, Lou

Supporters says new temporary high fencing on the bridge will save lives after recent incidents sparked concerns. The fencing blocks access to railings, spanning the length of the bridge on either side. It’s been sought for months by suicide prevention advocacy groups in the wake of tragedies at the bridge.

At the end of November, the University of Minnesota installed the $75,000 fencing — something the university says is only a temporary measure.

“Student mental health continues to struggle in the current political climate, and with students’ finals and exam dates approaching, it’s just a more sensitive time,” Richter said.

So they threw up some shitty, ugly fencing for $75K, but that still isn’t enough. The kids are demanding moar. What is missing from the story is exactly how many kids have jumped off the bridge and killed themselves. My guess is 0.

Also, here is the view of the bridge being talked about in the story from the other pedestrian bridge that is only a couple hundred yards upstream. Go another bit upstream and there are three more bridges all with pedestrian sidewalks on them.

I’m worried that if anyone points it out to these idiots, they won’t realize that it is a waste of money, instead they will demand $$$$$ to suicide proof all the bridges.

    • Old Man With Candy

Another opportunity to link to Nouvelle Vague, a French bossa Nova/ jazz group. Their self-titled album is covers of bands like The Clash, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Dead Kennedys etc. Their version of Love Will Tear Us Apart was apparently their ‘big release.’
Thanks, Katie Carmichael. High school sweetheart got me into that album in 2004 right when it came out. Holy fuck, I love it. Guns of Brixton is fantastic, but “I Melt With You” is swimming in nascent romantic memories of youth. (Fuck, I love that version of the song.)
