The Hat and The Hair Animated: Rerun ep 46

To quote the prophet Mike Judge, “… And there was a time in this country, a long time ago, when reading wasn’t just for fags and neither was writing. People wrote books and movies, movies that had stories so you cared whose ass it was and why it was farting, and I believe that time can come again!”

Dare I ask if we’ll see Melania’s hat in new episodes?

    • Ownbestenemy

I liked the meme showing her in 2016 and then now and a comment about ‘you tried to kill him’ vibe she gave off. Very Eastern European mob vibes.

      • KK, Plump & Unfiltered

Definitely needs a Natasha voice. Maybe CPRM needs to break out the old voice changer and Russian diction coach.

      • hayeksplosives

Tis good plan. But I do not see how it helps us catch moose and squiolle.

    • creech

Would love to see her here in a new production “The First Ladies Club.”. Melania, Dr. Jill, the Wookie, Hillary, Babs sitting around drinking wine and ridiculing their husbands.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

I would call it Claws: The First Ladies Club.

You just know the amount of backstabbing, face slashing and general cuntyness would be top shelf.

    Speaking of office space…

Weirdly, I was in a FedGov office (SSA) just this afternoon. Kinda depressing but the lady who helped me was much nicer than I would have expected. Probably a small(er) town thing.

    • Ownbestenemy

It must be. From local to FedGov contact here, nothing but nice people.

Vegas..2 SSA offices for the whole town will make anyone, visitor or employee want to go postal.

        Wow I bet.

I was a bit surprised my town (32K city, around 100K with burbs) even merits one.

After 25 years in NYC I have no doubt that the same experience there would have been very miserable.

Well, I was reading that the DC jail is delaying pardoned prisoner releases until they sign an NDA.

The mind absolutely boggles. It’s unthinkable, but there it is (if true, and it’s all too believable). Every person involved, from the warden down to the clerk staring at you blankly waiting for you to sign, should be imprisoned.

    • hayeksplosives

That is outrageous and totally in keeping with the previous administration.

One of the more ridiculous things Ol’ 10% Joe kept trying to make a thing was the Biden name. How many times he would say “And you have my word as a Biden!” like that was supposed to be reassuring to us somehow.

And then on his last day he pardons everyone who is a Biden.

    • trshmnstr

Sign it. Get out. Immediately violate it because it was signed under duress.

      • Don escaped Memphis

        this

    • Ownbestenemy

What NDA do you need to sign for being released from prison? “Cannot discuss how we treated you like shit”?

      • rhywun

        Yeah, pretty obviously.

      • Chafed

I’m skeptical this is true. But if it is, you have the right idea.

      • Ownbestenemy

Im with you..not really leaning on its true, then again, a lot has happened in the past 5 years Id never think were going to be true

      • Chafed

@OBE I agree. This is just such an obvious civil rights violation that it’s hard to believe.

      • Ownbestenemy

I wanna know the truth about the most vocal one I have seen floating around and that is Jake Lang. Supposedly has never seen a trial for the past 4 years? If true, that is absolutely insane. Flip side, dude has some unprecedented access to the internet while supposedly in confinement. So just..don’t know what all is true.

    • Tres Cool

I believe that but I cant find a citation.
      Do you have a link?

Send in the US Marshals and have them escort the hostages to freedom.

      • Gustave Lytton

And hang the guards at the gates.

  5. R.J.

This was one of my favorite episodes. No surprise there.

    • hayeksplosives

The subtle head movements and squinty eyes seal the deal.

    • rhywun

      *presses play*

      OMG LOL

I think I missed this one.

    • hayeksplosives

Oh well. Guess I will go watch a little TV and go to bed!

      • whahappan

I’m there, but apparently my mic isn’t working, or your just not in range to hear it. : )

  6. rhywun

The local news is wall-to-wall fear porn over Trump’s anti-genderfuck orders. But with helpful reassurance that local law still protects men pretending to be women in sports and locker rooms so whew!

    • Chafed

      I know I feel better.

    • Gustave Lytton

The Reddit lemmings are falling over themselves to ban Nazi Twitter links. Hilarious.

28F and outside the hotel waiting for the grill to heat up. Steak and potatoes tonight. Got to get up early for an off hour change ticket so no alky.

I have a perfectly cromulent rant about something but completely forgotten now.

    • Gustave Lytton

Turned on the second grill because fuck it, it ain’t my propane and it’s fucking cold out here with near beer, waiting for the first one to heat up to sear.

    • Chafed

GL, does your employer pay for your food when you travel for work?

      • Chafed

I notice you tend to do your own cooking when you travel. Is that your preference?

      • Gustave Lytton

Absolutely. I got burned out on local spots. Too many duds, crappy food, takes too long, etc. I’d rather drink a beer or something and grill. Or catch up on paperwork & watch Glib flicks while dinner fixes itself in the double rice cooker.

I don’t really enjoy eating in restaurants alone anymore. And I don’t drink if I have to drive.

    • PieInTheSky

Wait you can cook in a hotel?

      • UnCivilServant

It depends on the hotel, but there are some with small kitchens in the guests rooms.

      • Gustave Lytton

Yes. And quite a few limited service and extended stay places have outdoor grills.

    • Sean

      ⏰🤷🏼

    • UnCivilServant

So what you’re saying is you got abducted by aliens? Hope you escaped before they got deported.

      • Sean

I’m totally not an alien clone.

    • Gender Traitor

Good morning, Sean, U, Roat, and Teh Hype, and good afternoon, Pie!

      • UnCivilServant

        Morning.

I have all the hallmarks of a looming upper respiratory condition. Either today or tomorrow I will develop an epic cough, and my weekend is bound to be abominable.

      • Gender Traitor

Uh oh! I hope you’re mistaken, but if not, take whatever over-the-counter meds might stave off or minimize the worst symptoms and stock up on chicken soup! (Too bad you’re not a hot beverage drinker – some tea might help if you have a sore throat!) 😟

      • UnCivilServant

It’s been building for the past few days, while I hope it fades, I have stocked up on meds.

Prolonged cold, dry air gets to me.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Zinc and vitamin C UCS, that’ll do you. They don’t actually work but at least they give the illusion of some control.

      • Gender Traitor

You might want to consider acquiring a small humidifier. Along the same lines, I don’t know whether it’s better to let hot shower steam waft out into the rest of the house or to confine it to the bathroom and breathe it in as long as it lasts. Of course, lately it’s been so cold and dry that I’ve been refraining from running the exhaust fan when I shower, but the steam doesn’t even fog up the big mirror over the vanity.

      • UnCivilServant

        Thank you.

Whether I can show up this weekend will depend on whether this cough goes away or gets worse.

The pint comes shipped in dry ice, and it’s recommended buyers keep the pints frozen.

Reserved the apartment in downtown Caserta across from the war memorial. Excellent location. Traffic really takes me back to SE Asia – and will take some getting used to – but took a good alternate route cross-town to the express-way that should work fine for me most work shifts. Hopefully…paperwork will be ready in just a few weeks.

Still waiting on tax paperwork (“codice fiscale” – SSN equivalent) before I can register the car I’ve already bought…

Taking a tour to downtown Naples for part of the orientation tomorrow – hopefully get a little more acclimated to some of the general stuff…doesn’t take me too many iterations to build the muscle memory (ie. taking the train up to church, etc – done it twice now and it feels normal) – it’s just that first step that drives me nuts with the language “barriers”.

    • UnCivilServant

Are there public tours of roman ruins from the various towns vesuvius buried?

      • LCDR_Fish

Herculaneum and Pompeii both have their own museums and there’s another archeological museum in Naples with stuff from those and other sites.

National Review had some good articles from a guy who visited some of those sites recently and it sounds like they’ve been upgraded to something closer to US standards for museums. Still options for guided tours as well. I’ll probably wait till after I get a bit more settled.

      • R C Dean

Plus, I’ve always thought museums make for good dates.

    • Gender Traitor

      Glad you’ve found a place!

Traffic really takes me back to SE Asia

If it really does that, I think you’ve missed your exit! 😳

    • PieInTheSky

pizza is fattening and should be avoided.

      • Ted S.

He only eats deep dish, which as we all know is not pizza.

      • LCDR_Fish

Never touched deep dish. There are some good places in Caserta that are pretty highly rated – and still pretty cheap – that I’ll try in the future. At least one actually requires reservations – but also does tastings and special stuff.

Good morning, homey (and Ted’S. and Stinky!)

      • Tres Cool

Almost 14 degrees up here this morning. Damn near shorts weather.
