Re: 10000 Mexican troops — my gut is that OMB won’t be “placated” by the gesture unless they actually do cut down the flow of drugs / human trafficking. Since I wouldn’t really trust some/all of *US* troops that have been deployed near the border not to be compromised by the cartels (because it is just good business) much less troops where the cartels probably run their home towns and all. So we’ll see…

(Real adult life, but set in a Teutonic Disneyland.) The Bavarian region is (perhaps) my favorite natural scenery. I’m a forest guy. I’ve taken a few folk there since I left in ’08, one of few international destinations I’ve purposefully returned to. It’s too lovely to pass up.
