¡Martes por la tarde, enalces mexicanos!

I know you are all dying to know. After a long and irritating conversation on the matter…my wife sent the fucking email.

¡Enlaces!

Bolsonaro

Why did Mexico only deploy 6,000 10,000 Mexican troops to the Alamo border? They only had 3-4 pickup trucks to transport them.

El Presidenté Girlboss offers reforms to the Mexican constitution aimed to reinforce their sovereignty. Which makes me wonder what the hell did it say previously on the matter?

In case you were wondering about that SCOTUS case where Mexico was suing Smith & Wesson. (TW: Vox).

As of this morning the Commie Pope is still alive.

A small glimpse of what the world might look like if Harris won.

I might choose Guantanamo Bay in this case. The weather at least has to be better.

Here’s a tune. Enjoy your Tuesday!

    Bow-chicka-wow-wow?

Ah! An email to Elon with five things she did last week.
Jeez, I would have to cut it back to the top five.

        presumably.

        …right.

I don’t think RJ is doing his husband.

Maybe RJ is doing SDF’s husband?

Re: 10000 Mexican troops — my gut is that OMB won’t be “placated” by the gesture unless they actually do cut down the flow of drugs / human trafficking. Since I wouldn’t really trust some/all of *US* troops that have been deployed near the border not to be compromised by the cartels (because it is just good business) much less troops where the cartels probably run their home towns and all. So we’ll see…

    • juris imprudent

Care less about the drugs and more about keeping the people out.

  4. Shpip

The deportation took place after the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit seeking access to dozens of migrants held at Guantanamo Bay – an establishment riddled with allegations of injustice and abuse following the September 11, 2001 attacks – claiming they were being denied lawyers.

Would love to have a judge tell the ACLU “Sure, go visit your clients… on your own time and your own dime.”

Maybe they can charter the sloop Juan B.

    • SDF-7

I’d happily contribute to a GoFundMe that chartered the SS Minnow for the ACLU these days.

      • Nephilium

        Think bigger, Titanic sized even.

    • Tonio

It appears from the article that they do allow non-military flights into and out of Gitmo. The plane in the picture appears to be a Venezuelan-flagged carrier. So, yeah, the ACLU could charter their own jet, just as they would pay their own mileage to visit inmates in a CONUS federal prison, etc.

A small glimpse of what the world might look like if Harris won

Given the USAID efforts towards masking color revolutions around the world — the biggest difference I’m hoping for since Harris didn’t win is less of these “weird” elections that just so happen to put in folks who are happy with the global/socialist order. Trim down the government, get us out of the “messing with other countries” business please. (Yeah yeah… I might as well wish for a unicorn…)

I say this because all of the “Bolsonaro was a coup happy Trumpian thug!” is exactly what the press happily spewed here and would have continued to spew… so they’ll forgive me if I don’t trust them to be all that accurate.

  6. SDF-7

I might choose Guantanamo Bay in this case.

I’d trust the US to actually feed folks. I know they ate all the zoo animals in Venezuela a while ago — how far along on the Commie Diet Plan are they these days?

    • mexican sharpshooter

      Didn’t consider that.

  7. Drake

Cartels will be the 4th branch of government in Mexico now.

    • Bobarian LMD

From a conversation I had with a migrant worker traveling from LA to Salinas on a Greyhound, I’ve been under the assumption that the Cartels already are the only branch of government.

My bus-mate was in support of this. Cartels kept the trains running on time and were less likely to stick their hand in his pocket.

  8. Shpip

Yet there are three reasons to doubt that Mexico has any shot of prevailing in the US Supreme Court.

The first is a 2005 federal law, known as the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (“PLCAA”), which gives gun makers and sellers an unusual amount of immunity from lawsuits of all kinds. that are politically-motivated nuisances.

    FIFY, Vox.

    • Suthenboy

How is it unusual? Oh wait. Gun grabbers. They lie.

      • Rat on a train

It’s unusual that a law had to be passed to state the obvious.

      • R C Dean

Indeed. “Gun makers, like every other business, are not liable for the wrongful acts of others.”

    • RAHeinlein

I watched a translated interview on X where Sheinbaum threatened Trump with expansion of the lawsuit if cartels were declared terrorist organizations. Something that caught my interest was the BIDEN administration provided the stats (i.e. total guns from USA) that are the basis of the suit.

Sure sounds like collusion to me…

      • Suthenboy

Again, all lies. The cartel’s buy their guns on the black market…full autos and heavy arms etc. Joe’s Gun Shop’s inventory isn’t what they are interested in.
My understanding is that in the past when we have given them guns for the cops and army etc. the soldiers and cops just sold them to the cartels.

      • RAHeinlein

Agreed – my point was Biden and his gun-grabbing backers aided Mexico in the lawsuit – they wanted this brought.

      • Gustave Lytton

It wouldn’t surprise me if the cartels owned a couple of gun shops or had a regular pipeline from compromised PDs or manufacturers.

      • Suthenboy

Whatcha wanna bet a not insignificant number of Biden’s gift guns to the Taliban are now in the hands of the cartels?

  9. rhywun

I think what The Atlantic is telling me is that Lulu stole an election.

    • Suthenboy

      Exactly.

  10. Suthenboy

Now see….The instant the compared Bolsonaro with Trump I thought “The attempted Coup is a fake”

See how that works Atlantic? When you are a bald faced liar and lie on a daily basis your credibility becomes less than zero.
Without USAID money how many of these leftist propaganda rags are going to be able to stay ini business?

    • bacon-magic

      ^^^

    • Nephilium

Look, I read in Politico, the AP, Reuters, and Slate that the USAID money was all a big nothing, and they’re perfectly fine and neutral.

      • mexican sharpshooter

Well as long as they said its okay.

      • Suthenboy

Excellent. They wont have any worries then when the money stops.

      • bacon-magic

He certainly had a plan ready this time…starting with the money was genius and eye opening on just how pervasive the rot is everywhere.

Thanks, Pie for the Danube Delta. I spent about 8mo at the University of Freiburg, Germany, right about where the Danube ‘starts.’ That city itself is my favorite I’ve ever been. (Real adult life, but set in a Teutonic Disneyland.) The Bavarian region is (perhaps) my favorite natural scenery. I’m a forest guy. I’ve taken a few folk there since I left in ’08, one of few international destinations I’ve purposefully returned to. It’s too lovely to pass up.

I’m envious of on-the-ground /water, overnight stays in the Dark Forest. It really is a gorgeous place. Would return.

    • Tonio

Prison time? No. If they’re illegal, deport their asses. Somewhere. Anywhere. We don’t need to give them free food, housing, and medical care and keep them here.

      • rhywun

        Maybe he’s just brainfarting again.

        But yeah, agreed.

      • Gustave Lytton

I’m thinking this introduces a criminal charge to visa overstays or children brought into this country that would only be a civil violation.

    fun facts

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Gould_(writer)

    ***
Often homeless, he claimed to be the author of the longest book ever written, An Oral History of the Contemporary World, also known as An Oral History of Our Time or Meo Tempore.

At some point in the 1920s he entered Manhattan State Hospital for the Insane, although he never acknowledged having been institutionalized. Here, all his teeth were removed.[2] In the 1920s, a theory of biological psychiatry pioneered by Henry Cotton proposed that abnormal behavior was caused by infected teeth and that the complete removal of teeth would return patients to neurotypical behavior. In fact, Gould likely had autism, and the teeth extraction procedure had a high fatality rate.

One of Gould’s pastimes was going to beatnik poetry readings in New York, where he recited absurd poems he made up to mock the serious poetry of other participants.

Gould claimed to understand the behavior and language of seagulls, saying that he had translated the works of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow into their language.[8]
    ***

His book is about 9 million words long.

    • Bobarian LMD

    • Suthenboy

What exactly were they hoping to accomplish with that?

    • rhywun

Meh… without digging into code I have no experience with, there’s no way to assert this was deliberate, rather than just a random bug that happened to generate a click-bait worthy headline.

      • Suthenboy

Random bugs dont repeat commie talking points no matter what they say about 1000000 drunk monkeys with typewriters. It is just what it looks like.

Or just a thought… it could easily be another “feature” of AI. It could just be spitting back what the fever swamps of the internet are putting into it. The more times the MSM put “Donald” and “racist” in the same story, the more likely you’ll see something like this happen.

      • Suthenboy

Ah. Your second guess there is not unlikely.

    Notorious extortionist Donald trump

Ukraine and the U.S. have reached an agreement on a framework for a broad economic deal that would include access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, three senior Ukrainian officials said Tuesday.

The officials, who were familiar with the matter, spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. One of them said that Kyiv hopes that signing the agreement will ensure the continued flow of U.S. military support that Ukraine urgently needs.

There was no immediate response to a request for comment from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The agreement could be signed as early as Friday and plans are being drawn up for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to travel to Washington to meet Trump, according to one of the Ukrainian officials.

You can’t put a price on democracy. Not publicly, anyway. It’s supposed to be off the books, in the back room, like Biden and Team Grown Up.

    • rhywun

Kyiv hopes that signing the agreement will ensure the continued flow of U.S. military support that Ukraine urgently needs

I thought Donald was selling this as a way to end the war, not prolong it.

      • R C Dean

It’s part of the security guarantee, on the theory that if the US owns those minerals, Putin is less likely to invade for a third time. A tripwire of sorts.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Or, Ukraine needs a resonable guarantee of being able to defend itself as part of a peace agreement, and the US is swapping guns for (gold)?

    NPR headline:

21 DOGE staffers resign, saying they won’t help ‘dismantle’ public services

    Story:

A group of 21 career civil servants whose team was folded into Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency resigned on Tuesday, writing in a joint letter posted publicly that they refuse to use their skills to put Americans’ data at risk and “dismantle critical public services.”

The federal workers, mostly software engineers and product managers, were once part of the U.S. Digital Service, which was renamed DOGE when Musk launched his initiative from within the White House. The Musk-led unit has laid off thousands of workers and moved to dismantle entire agencies in a slash-and-burn campaign to reduce the size of government.

In the letter addressed to White House Chief of Staff Susan Wiles, the government employees wrote that they swore an oath to the Constitution to serve the American people but that “it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments at the United States DOGE Service.”

    Gotcha.

    • rhywun

The story I read made it sound like rEsIsTaNcE from Elon’s hand-picked minions.

    • B.P.

Musk needs to link to this article in a tweet with something like, “The cost-cutting continues!”

    • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

From another article: “These highly skilled civil servants were working to modernize Social Security, veterans’ services, tax filing, health care, disaster relief, student aid, and other critical services,”

Based on recent stories about FAFSA and FEMA, these people must have been doing a terrible job.

      • Suthenboy

“These highly skilled civil servants were working to blah blah blah…”
        That is the problem.
