Makin’ it rain!
That’s right! Bonus pays this week – I am makin’ it rain at the local taproom! Well, OK, after I reload the bank account from the front door, storm door and windows being replaced. Oh, and finishing paying off my car…so…OK, looks like I am up to buy one person, one beer then. Easy come, easy go.
Links are easy, right? Let us see.
- In contrast to the sob stories.
- I wouldn’t. You want a curse, this is how you get a curse.
- Next time somebody complains about the state of politics here, show them this.
- Come on, USA – they are laying people off in Genf!
Music – it is crappy and cold here today, so how about a nice, long prog rock piece?

Look at me, the comments belong to you now!
Never much cared for Yes.
No.
Yep.

When I look back upon my posts… its always with a sense of shame.

Don’t care for Rush either.
This isn’t my favorite of theirs. But classic Yes, Yep.
Music- right now, Pandora is playing “Fat Man in the Bathtub” by Little Feat for me.

Thanks, buuuuuut no.
South Korea’s Constitutional Court dismissed the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on Monday, reinstating the 75-year-old as acting president while continuing to deliberate on the future of impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Han took over the top office in December after Yoon was suspended for his shocking declaration of martial law. He was impeached and removed less than two weeks later, however, for refusing to fill three vacant seats on the Constitutional Court. The opposition Democratic Party also accused Han of abetting Yoon’s short-lived martial law attempt.
More or less drama than the average soap opera?
I seem to remember seeing Tae Kwon Do fist fights in Korean government meeting in the 1990’s.
I think the Marx Brothers did a documentary on Korean government at one point… Duck-sooup.
“Come on, USA – they are laying people off in Genf”
The amount of useless people employed in Geneva appears to have been at Washingtonian levels. “Let’s headquarter our non-profit in one of the most expensive cities in one of the most expensive countries in the world.” God forbid we might have to meet or see any of those we are “helping”.
It’s nice to hang out on Bains des Pâquis in the summer.
As long as they’re not bringing in President Clark, I’m happy enough to leave them be.
People will literally die if the U.S. taxpayer isn’t made to be the world’s piggy bank.

Words mean precisely what I choose for them to mean.
ramifications on Geneva, which is home to hundreds of NGOs, many of them dependent on the US for funding.
Won’t someone think of the poor, dependent ‘N’GOs in Geneva.
N’GO please.
Nothing says “responsible steward of US tax dollars” like “headquartered in Geneva”
Translation: gimme gimme gimme!
I’m surprised at the discoveries coming out of Egypt these last few weeks, what with the cuts to USAID and all.
So, you are saying that they have had to dig their own graves?
I thought he was just surprised the pyramid schemes hadn’t collapsed,
The lack of funds for Egypt really sphinx.
I just like the usual gnashing of teeth and vehement denial of the discovery from the usual suspects.
Maybe the “discoery” is bullshit, but ts remarkable how little curiosity there actually is to verify it.
Damn, it’s later than I thought…

Maybe he just needed to be ready to open his garage like ole Bubba….
“If needed” then get a warrant. No way I’d willingly participate in a dragnet operation like that. Nothing to hide doesn’t mean you get free rein to put me in some DNA database I have no control over.
My thought too.
The very very cynical side of me is actually surprised they haven’t used a combination of surveillance cameras, facial recognition and going through restaurant’s trash (especially fast food) with the precedent of banks and utilities (“It isn’t your cup/straw anymore… you threw it away!”) sharing data as “third parties” to build as big of a genetic database as they want.
The even more cynical side of me says “What makes you think they haven’t?”
Nothing wrong with the cops asking, and nothing wrong with you telling them to fuck off.
ZWAK on vacation in jolly England….
I had to submit my fingerprints to the PA State Police in the same county as part of a murder investigation. When they were done they returned my fingerprints to me. But that was in the days before all this stuff was computerized, and for all I know they still kept a copy.
What makes you think they haven’t?
DNA samples from random garbage, or are we paranoid enough to think someone is following us to collect that?
Speaking of Venezuela
The Biden administration secretly permitted Chevron Corp. to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to the Venezuelan government despite a license that explicitly prohibited such disbursements, according to people familiar with the matter.
The supplement to a November 2022 sanctions waiver allowed Chevron to remain in compliance with US law while paying the regime of President Nicolás Maduro taxes and oil royalties, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing non-public information. The initial waiver from the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control granted Chevron permission to conduct limited operations in the Latin American nation.
The administration of President Donald Trump ended the arrangement and is requiring the Texas oil giant to wind down Venezuelan operations.
Good old Joe, the working man’s friend and benefactor.
“Migrating is not a crime and we will not rest until we achieve the return of all those who require it and until we rescue our brothers kidnapped in El Salvador,” Rodríguez said
Who wants to tell him…
Illeal Entry is a crime. Most Illegal aliens commit additional crimes in order to remain.
Someone in this country approved those assholes entry. Fuck Epstein and JFK files – I now want to know who was the dumbshit that did that.
WaPo says delete your dna from 23 and me right now.
Good luck with that.
See my comment this morning — anyone who thinks these requests will be honored is way more optimistic than I’ll ever be.
Like it isn’t already out there from one data breach or another.
The minute they drew the first drop of blood when I joined the military I knew my DNA was out there. Doesnt matter what consent forms, what legal or privacy nonsense they told me.
According to this, unsurprisingly yes:
And that’s what they admit to.
How would a company in bankruptcy destroying any other assets at the request of a non-creditor be handled? Yeah…
Tonio or other PTB..i got your email with suggestions, how to pull back article and adjust?
Too bad there isn’t an up-and-running steel company for sale
South Korea-based Hyundai and President Donald Trump announced a $20 billion investment in US on-shoring on Monday, which includes a $5 billion steel plant in Louisiana, at the White House Monday.
The $5.8 billion Louisiana facility will be the car manufacturers’ first steel manufacturing facility in the US and will produce more than 2.7 million metric tons of steel a year and create more than 1,400 jobs. It will supply steel to auto plants in Alabama and Georgia, Trump said in remarks at the White House.
How many lawsuits will earthjustice file to stop it?
Yes? Nope.

So what happened? Why hasn’t Musk’s rapid ascent into oligarch territory helped rescue his “baby” (as President Trump called Tesla during the pair’s bizarre ad-like press conference last week on the South Lawn)?
There are two main reasons:
Tesla sales are cratering around the world, and…
Its CEO isn’t doing anything to stop it.
While Musk is holed up in the EEOB looking for ways to break the federal government, Tesla’s core business is in crisis.
——-
All those headaches would amount to a dire problem for Tesla even if it had a normal CEO. But Tesla is run by the MAGA-pilled Musk, whose personal brand has gone from “OK, he’s a bit weird” a few years ago to “OK, he’s posting racist and antisemitic conspiracy theories” in 2025.
Tesla didn’t respond to a request for comment.
He should sell the business to Mark Cuban.
“Musk’s right-wing authoritarian turn” Stated without evidence.
He isn’t a Democrat is he? Then by definition he must be a right-wing authoritarian, just like us.
Tesla’s stock price has absolutely cratered to depths that it last reached in….October. In other news I see that Twitter is back to the valuation that Herr Musk paid for it. Bet dollars to donuts it will be up significantly in a few years. Somehow I think Elon will muddle on through just fine.
Tesla is a volatile stock. Beta = 2.5. I’d argue that the peaks it saw in December were the anomaly.
lol I can’t imagine why.
Lawyer says Susie has agreed to sign the contract, without having to withdraw the petition first. Apparently, it took her lawyer a bit and some pressure to persuade her that this is how it’s going to be.
Happy to hear that. Congratulations.
Molto bene
Sometimes things just work out, in a way that you don’t expect. I’m very happy for you.
Excellent!
IMO do nothing until you have the SIGNED contract in your hands.
Yay, but don’t trust lawyers…or cunty aunts…
Send lawyers, guns, and money.
A CNN poll last week found that 53% of Americans have a negative view of Musk, while roughly 60% say he has neither the right experience nor the right judgment to make the kinds of sweeping cuts his “department” is carrying out.
What does Musk know about anything? He doesn’t even have an advanced degree from the Kennedy School of Government!
CNN poll,
Zardoz speaks to you, His chosen one. You have been raised up from Brutality, to kill the Brutals who multiply, and are legion. To this end, Zardoz gave you the gift of the Bonus, to buy the Gun. The Gun is good! Buy the Gun! Zardoz recommends a M134 Minigun.
A mind of its own
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating nearly 1.3 million Ford (F.N), opens new tab F-150 pickup trucks in the United States over reports of an unexpected gear downshift accompanied by a temporary rear wheel lock-up.
NHTSA said Monday it is opening a preliminary evaluation into some Ford F-150 pickup trucks from the 2015 to 2017 model years after receiving complaints from 138 consumers.
Complaints alleged unexpected transmission downshifts to lower gears while traveling at highway speeds without warning or driver input, followed by the vehicle rapidly decelerating.
A Ford spokesperson said Monday the automaker is “working with NHTSA to support its investigation” and said it is related to vehicles with six-speed transmissions.
NHTSA is opening a preliminary evaluation into the issue and then must decide whether to update the probe to an engineering analysis before it could seek to require a recall.
I thought we wanted cars to take over. The little man in the box is just checking to see if you’re paying attention.
I misread “box” as “boat” for a second
Wait… there’s a difference?
A 2023 complaint from an owner in Ohio of a 2016 F-150 said that while driving on the highway at 70 mph “the truck automatically shifted from 6th Gear to first gear nearly throwing me through the windshield.”
Oh, be serious.
“I was murdered”
I can’t go that fast, Dave.
Man, he must have some nasty bruises from the seat belt then.
Speaking of autonomous cars
Chris Harris goes for a ride. Entertaining.
Excellent song choice.
Today in Idiots On Reddit:
OP: My girlfriend is SOOOOOO dumb [insert really stupid things here that are not really normal stupidity for a previously functioning adult].
Commenters: Dafuq. That sounds neurological.
OP [offhand in the comments]: Well, she plays hockey and has had her head hammered a few times, but the doctor said she was fine.
Commenters: OP’s GF is not the stupid one.
The single best thing Trump can do is turn on the lights and cut off the money.
Musk has no power. He makes recommendations, department heads decide what to do with those recommendations.
The Dems have gone full marxist. They are openly trying to destroy western civilization and have been financially supporting our sworn enemies. What is odd to me is that they are not letting up.
False flags are false.
Your DNA is already out there. I dont remember which one but I vaguely remember one of those operations selling their collected info. I know the Chinese are and we probably are building a database with every person in it. It is a bit late for protest.
If someone entered the country illegally, it is a crime. That is the definition of ‘illegal’. Ship their asses home.
Huh. Judge Jeanine on the tv just now – the Tesla thing is co-ordinated and someone big is behind it. A good place to start looking is who shorted their Tesla stock before it started.
It’s the same web of NGO’s and Foundations and oligarch(s) behind all the recent leftist “actions” from BLM, antifa, to the campus pro-Hamas events.
Does anyone really suspect otherwise?
Nutjobs can be wound up and pointed in the general direction without requiring a conspiracy.
Yet we seem to know very little about them? Shouldn’t they be doxxed by now. I think we already know who the thugs, malcontents and loons prone to violence are. It seems it would be the easiest collections of half-wits to infiltrate.
Well, it looks like I’m on the front lines in the tariff war with Canada. It was revealed in the Shareholders and Directors meetings today that a permanent 25% tariff on imports from Canada would put us out of business in 8 months (8 months inventory on hand). Tariff checks to the U.S. government would run 4 times our annual net profit, so we’d be down the tubes pretty quickly. 25 jobs lost, and my share of equity comes to about $415,000. Question was asked – “what would it take to open a factory in U.S. to make the raw material here?” Answer: “2 to 3 years, financing would be available but all our customers would be lost to the competition before the factory could open.” Our CEO (born and raised in Canada) figures Trump will blink, as will Canada, so let’s just keep to business as usual. His many friends in Canada tell him the disdain for Trump and U.S. is real and pervasive over the “51st state” nonsense and may take years to repair. The two avowed Democrats on our board kept their mouths shut but were chortling about how the life-long Republicans were so pissed at the economically ignorant dude in the White House.
That sucks. My bet is they do blink, but it’s not 100%.
My bet also is that if they do blink (or even if they don’t) it won’t take “years” to repair the relationship. Too many things are mutually beneficial.
I think so.
Nevertheless, I struggle to see the wisdom in this strategy.
Trump and wisdom are never likely to intersect.
I am tempted to agree with Trump but the fact is that I dont know enough about the subject to have a hard stance.
About such subjects regarding the internecine affairs of the anglosphere I have always had general impressions. Of late the rest of the Anglosphere seems to be sliding into authoritarian hell.
Your Democrat wisemen would be chortling over punitive tax rates by their party or unrealized gains basis, and Soviet level prosecution of political enemies. Fuck them.
Your board didn’t give a shit about Canadians dumping lumber to put US competitors out of business and then turn around and jack it prices. Those jobs don’t matter.
