The Hat and The Hair Animated: Rerun ep 51

by | Mar 12, 2025 | Hat and Hair | 60 comments

Remember the time the Easter Bunny corralled a wandering Joe Biden to get him away from the press? Pepperidge Farms remembers. So this episode was a play off of that, along with the Media’s claims that Biden was an AWESOME Catholic, and he supported abortion, therefore abortion is totally justified. The problem with making fun of Biden over the course of his term was that I didn’t have any characters to voice to play against the audio clips like The Hat and The Hair. So this was a chance to do that. I also got to nerd out by putting in a reference to my favorite Transformers episode, SSN 3 Ep 28 “The Burden Hardest to Bear”. Also a little Donnie Darko and my favorite Queen Song. It was interesting tying to figure out how to pull off the Dolly Zoom in animation

Is that Ashley Biden in the picture in the background?

The bunny’s voice freaks me out. (I proffer a quicker accent. Don’t know why, but Pesci- Italian- mafia voice.) It’s written well but I think the quicker cadence would tie it together better.

The Pudding Button! I can’t read out the other, but me lovey. (What’s it say?)

    Thanks, CPRM, always enjoyable.

Either I missed the this the first time around or my memory is slipping/sliding.

I “missed” a lot of the older ones too.

Trans-pretender pulls gun on street preacher:

In a saner world, seeing as this was filmed, both of them have cellphones on them, and the time of the incident is known, just find out which phones were pinging off the same tower as the street preacher and arrest the son of a bitch.

4th amendment violation, you say? Pretty sure there is probable cause here.

Also, Brazil cut down part of the Amazon for the sake of an environmentalist conference. Behold the glory of clown world.

Ugh once more with correct link

OFFS. I get the relishing of the hypocrisy but when “portion” is like 0.00001% of the sainted forest I hate both sides in this argument.

    CPRM,

    Great as always.

The little touches on the wall pictures always make me chuckle.

I’m glad that’s your favorite song CPRM. I was gritting hoping it wasn’t Dragon Attack.

From the dead thread on Mickey17. I saw this yesterday and my advice is save your money. The first half was pretty good, one mystery that was never explained was why the protagonist suddenly falls in love for the sole black female crew member. Or what she sees in him. The premise – 3D printing of human “expendables” and their uses had the makings of a good flick. It quickly goes off the rails in the second half led by Ruffalo and his minions buffonish transformation into cartoon villains. The only feeling I had when exiting the theater was disappointment.

That’s kinder than The Critical Drinker review.

I had become aware of it on the periphery, with the talk in the AM linx I watched the trailer, looked like trash so I moved on. Clones are so 90s.

Eff me. Opened up my work bag tonight after getting home from business trip and laptop wasn’t in there. Guess which fuckwad has 4.5hrs of driving in their future tomorrow morning? And is supposed to host a segment & presentation for a team meeting at 8am.

I did a print design job and sent the page count to client to give to cover designer. This was a month ago. Advised client on the need to buy bar code, which is to say DO NOT BUY A BAR CODE. It’s a money grab. The printer will supply that. Huh? Never mind. Here’s the bar code.

Late tonight I get an email from the client.

He wants to know why he would want a 5.5×8.5 book instead of a 6×9 book. This is out of left field. We have been over this. In fact, I had to redesign the book because he wanted to reduce the page count. But this is my job, so I say a smaller size book will increase the page count and 6×9 is standard trade paperback size.

THEN the cover designer needs the exact dimensions of the book and/or a template with crop marks. Dafuq. You were given the trim size and page count. It is LITERALLY YOUR JOB and to make the cover from that information. Can your software not do that? If not, do you not know how to grab a template from a POD printer?

So I’m wondering if the cover designer was asking him to reduce the size of the book or got into his head about the more “desirable” book size or what. And I’m wondering what kind of professional cover designer doesn’t know how to calculate spine width and bleed to create a template OR just find a template generator to do it.

I do covers, but it’s not my forté, and am certainly no kind of graphic designer.

Anyway, I just generated a template and sent it along with no editorial comment whatsoever.

As long as they don’t wokify it, I’m good with it.

Although Anna Kendrick is adorable and I’d have rather had her back.

I’d forgotten there was an Accountant 1. The only Ben Affleck performance I ever liked was Boiler Room, because I think he was just playing his assholish self. And I thought he did a good Batman, but a shit Wayne.

      • Mojeaux

That accountant is a role pretty much any Standard Hollywood Actor could do.

He was good in Dazed and Confused and also, uh, I guess that’s about it.

      Good morning, Sean & R.J.!

      • R.J.

Morning! I have early meetings and late meetings today.

Tomorrow, I sign paperwork for Stately R.J. Manor. It will be worth it. 93 days on the road by the time I get the key and move in.

      • Gender Traitor

That’s great! 😃 (about the house, NOT the meetings!) Congratulations! 🥳

      • R.J.

It’s all worth it if I can go home to a house I own again. I will happily have a 14 hour work day for that.

      • Gender Traitor

Good morning, U! How are you today?

      • UnCivilServant

I’m still trying to adapt to the early morning wakeup times.

      • Ted S.

Sunday marks two years since Dad and I moved, and we’ve still got a bunch of stuff in boxes that haven’t been opened. 😊

      • Gender Traitor

I can assure you with confidence that some of those boxes will still not have been opened by the time you move again.

      • UnCivilServant

You’re still trying to emulate me?

*looks at boxes from 9 years ago*

I’m probably looking for stuff that’s in those boxes.

      • R.J.

I sold or gave away a large amount of stuff. I will gave books in boxes for probably three weeks while I settle on new shelves. Other than that I hope to be unpacked and set up by the Saturday after next.
We all have flu, so that is slowing me down somewhat.

      • UnCivilServant

Almost a decade in, and I still don’t have enough shelving.

I’m re-boxing stuff to get it into a smaller footprint on the shelves and clear that up.

    • R.J.

      Cool!

    • R.J.

      Cool!

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

A blood red moon, eh? You got a goat handy to sacrifice, can’t be too careful, you know?

      • Ted S.

You did *not* see me standing alone.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Something will pass as the Republicans are desperate to not have a shutdown and their hand has been laid out for all to see. The Dems are desperate to not have one too but they’re playing their hand to get some last minute concessions which they’ll get: hell, Trump himself might push the senate Reps to compromise.

It’s all a show my man.

      • Ted S.

Will Trump have the courage to veto it and tell them to pass a real budget?

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Magic 8 Ball says No but I think whatever spirit lives in there has just been reading about his reaction to Massie. Trump wants a CR worse than anyone.

      • R.J.

I remain hopeful this time. So far things have been above expectations.

Does that relate to the intensity of a dog’s regret, or do they regret having dogs?
