Today, in traitors news…
Supreme Court upholds regulation on “ghost guns”
The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a Biden-era rule regulating so-called “ghost guns” – untraceable weapons without serial numbers, assembled from components or kits that can be bought online. By a vote of 7-2, the justices held that the Gun Control Act of 1968 allows the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to regulate at least some ghost guns, although they left open the possibility that the rule might not apply in individual challenges to particular ghost guns.
Justice Clarence Thomas dissented from the court’s decision, complaining that it had agreed to “rewrite statutory text.” Justice Samuel Alito wrote his own dissent in which he contended that his colleagues had applied the wrong test to determine whether the ATF rule was valid.
Again, only Thomas is interested in uphold the Constitution. Democrats keep screaming about a conservative court. A real conservative court would have stuck down the Gun Control Act of 1968 as the Unconstitutional trash law that it is.
Also, DOGE needs to gut the ATF. (And a lot of other things, of course… Looking at you, DEA.)
Duke University Is Not Happy About The White Lotus
The Duke-UNC rivalry made its way to this season of The White Lotus, by way of the Ratliff family. Patriarch Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) went to Duke, while Victoria (Parker Posey) is a proud Tar Heel.
Timothy’s Duke alum status was front and center at the end of the fifth episode, when the character debates ending his life. He’s interrupted by his wife, but his suicidal ideation remains in the sixth episode, during which he has visions of killing himself. According to a new Bloomberg report, however, the school did not approve of the scene where Timothy is in a Duke shirt, and holding a gun to his head.
A trash show about trash people is the perfect use of the Duke logo because it is a trash university.
And yes, many pf you will not have heard of The White Lotus, because you shouldn’t have, because you are not low-IQ white women.
The White Lotus is an American dark comedy drama anthology television series created by Mike White for HBO that premiered on July 11, 2021. The series follows the exploits of the guests and staff during a week spent at a luxury global resort hotel chain.[4] The first season was filmed and set in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and the third in Thailand.

Ted Turner’s insufferable propaganda needs to infect a new generation with climate hysteria, I guess.
Also, I imagine there will be some hot Hoggish Greedly-on-Looten Plunder action.

I wonder if scholars will ever decode the subtle subtext in their character names.
I’ve been on such a Journey kick lately.
Captain Planet does have him a pretty mouff.
Surprised they opted for a masculine look
Looks more like someone really wanted to draw Captain Atom. Post-Monarch variety.
Best Captain Planet
I wonder if the carpet matches the green drapes.
Found it. Don Cheadle’s dark Captain Planet parody was fantastic. It’s in two parts now for some reason.

CAPTAIN PLANET!
The Cartoon Network office suite back in the day must have just loved Seth’s little jabs…..
SDF-7:
Just saw that Robot Chicken looks to be moving away from full seasons going forward, and moving to specials only. Which isn’t the worst thing, I do love the DC and Star Wars specials.
Refresh is my nemesis.
I was starting to think they’d just closed up shop entirely… there’s some post-Season 10 thing supposedly… but I can’t find a way to watch it. Hopefully whatever else they do will be findable outside of some locked down streaming service.
But thanks for the info. The Star Wars specials were good… the first DC one was (the latter ones were… okay…). While I would always want more screen time — I did appreciate the nod to my favorite DC hero.

This is starting to sound like “I find myself needing to know the plural of apocalypse…”
The SCOTUS decision is disappointing.
Its a legislative problem this week, a constitutional next week, an administrative next month…I too can be a judge
Yes. Branches need to stay in their own lanes.
No shit. It is impossible to predict how the Nazgul will rule on any issue as their reasoning is not at all that of a sane non-nazgul.
Charles C.W. Cooke’s take (in part):
“First, while I agree with Clarence Thomas’s dissent, I’ll concede that the majority opinion from Justice Gorsuch is pretty good. Why do I think this, despite my disagreement? Because the justices who dissented and the justices who joined the majority are not in agreement about what was at stake in the case. As Dan notes, Justice Gorsuch focused his majority opinion “more on the kits and their capacity to become weapons than on the frame-or-receiver definition,” and, having done so, he came to a defensible conclusion on those terms. Moreover, while Gorsuch treats the case as a “facial challenge,” Alito and Thomas do not. (In his separate dissent, Alito goes so far as to say that “if I were satisfied that the Salerno test should control here, I would join the opinion of the Court.”) This matters enormously. If, indeed, the case is facial, and if, indeed, the key question is whether the kits at stake are able to become weapons, then Gorsuch’s opinion makes a lot of sense. If the case is not facial, and if the key question is instead the proper definition of “frames or receivers,” it does not.
Second, because the majority treated this as a facial challenge — and thus resolved only whether there was a plausible manner in which the rule could be held to be consistent with the statute — the holding is actually quite narrow.”
So it appears the case was actually about rule-making and not the validity of the statute.

Lego guns; you just snap ’em together and start blasting.
It’s an ATF rule. The new ATF can change the rule. Put pressure there.
Or, like the man said, repeal the GCA’68.
SCOTUS isn’t going to do that.
Congress isn’t going to do that.
The executive could do it by undoing when the executive did under the previous administration.
Biden EOs, like Obama EOs, are sacrosanct and completely constitutional. Part of the penumbra and emanations.
Repeal would require that the congressscum take responsibility for said repeal and that just ain’t gonna happen.
As best as I can recall, this was not an EO. This was the ATF “deciding” to interpret the law in a new way. And the lawsuits were based on whether the ATF had the authority to make that interpretation and whether they followed the proper rule-making processes. SCOTUS said they did.
Some other case will have to force SCOTUS to rule on the constitutionality of the Gun Control Act.
DOGE could just abolish the ATF…
Damn straight… Shall. Not. Be. Infringed.
Journey is playing a show here in Cleveland as part of the Browns draft festivities.
Here’s the part I’m interested in:
For the Browns? I would have expected the Indians to do the scalping.
I’m glad I was able to let you down then. 🙂

That doesn’t look like an obituary…
Today’s rumor is that they’re trying to trade for Dak from the Cowboys.
Because they don’t have enough money tied up in quarterbacks?
Bobarian:
I saw that, the only way that deal works is if Jerry Jones decides that he really wants Watson on the Cowboys.
Please want Watson on the Cowboys Jerry Jones.
Journey is playing? What a let down.
I remember Hoggish Greedly, I remember Looten Plunder (dude rocked that ponytail), but who was the chick with the punk haircut covering the fucked-up eyeball?
https://captainplanet.fandom.com/wiki/Doctor_Blight apparently.
Not as scary as Dr. Biden.
Would.
According to a new Bloomberg report, however, the school did not approve of the scene where Timothy is in a Duke shirt, and holding a gun to his head.
That’s an expelling offense.
You want him discharged?
To be fair, the gun was a forty-four Crystal Magnum — very dangerous to undergrads.
Expelling offense?
Was he a lacrosse player?
Thank you for that, SF — because “What show is that again?” was, in fact, my first reaction.
I have heard of Parker Posey at least from Superman Returns.
Parker Posey is great. I know her most from Best in Show, but she at least used to be damn funny. (I have no evidence to contradict that, at this point.)

Ten bucks is ten bucks.
Ten bucks goes a lot further in Thailand.
“Ten bucks goes a lot further in Thailand.”
Accurate.
How progressive.
They’ll presumably save that for the White Lotus crossover after Greedly is revealed to be Looten’s relative or something.
The constitutional justification for the Gun Control Act of 1968 must be hidden behind all of them penumbras and shit that I keep hearing about.
Those wusses in black robes will tie themselves into knots trying to intellectually justify the unjustifiable won’t they?
The invisible ink Article 0: “We can because we really want to!” rules all apparently.
A real conservative court would have stuck down the Gun Control Act of 1968 as the Unconstitutional trash law that it is.
Nixon could have vetoed it.
Haha, I crack myself up.
That would’ve been a good trick even for Tricky Dick (who didn’t take office until January of ’69).
Also, DOGE needs to gut the ATF.
The functionality will go over to the FBI. I remember seeing that in a proposal from Patel or someone else on the Trump team.
I’m starting to get that feeling you get after the 7th or 8th “re-organization” you see happen at a company when they oscillate between “silos” and “horizontal management” — “Teams can focus on their strengths!”… “Cross-team collaboration will be improved!”
Functionality doesn’t change. The people at the bottom doing the work likely don’t change. Only the reporting structures. Yay.
The person who doesn’t understand the problem but is telling you you’re doing it wrong changes, along with the background on the powerpoint.
*Digs out constitution, reads intently while tugging chin*
The Supremacy clause….supremacy clause…..ah, here It is.
“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”
Now, where is that other thing? *finger scrolls down*
There it is.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
I wonder what that means? Let me ask the author. *Digs out collections of FF writings*
Madison….Madison…second amendment….here we go.
“Who, you ask, are the militia? They are the body of the people. Every person capable of bearing arms.”
Do I have this right? The supreme law of the land states that government may not under any circumstances infringe on people’s inalienable right to arm themselves. The one exception being this: “No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
Do I have that right? I ask because to me it means that any blanket prohibition, permit, regulation etc is a crime and government can only deny individuals who have been given due process their liberty. I dunno, maybe it is just me.
These people should be fucking ignored.
University of Maryland announces commencement speaker
Hi ho… Doctor The Frog here….
What in the fucking fuck?
My generation, and the brood they’ve spawned, are fucking helpless. Harry Potter Generation = Me. (I was 10 when Harry was 10 when HP 1 released in ’97.) VOLDEMORT. VOLDEMORT, YA FUCKS. We grew up knowing Harry was correct to say the name, and only the bewitched witches and wizards were afraid of saying it aloud. And yet now they’re terrified of seemingly every syllable. And they’re so goddamn *proud* of it.
And now, with pride, Kermit the Frog is your goddamn Commencement Speaker. I hope he dumbs it down even further. Or blows his stack and just fucks Piggy on stage for fuck’s sake. Just put an end to it. And further fuck the Yutes who wouldn’t know what to do if not celebrate amphibious porcine bonin’.
Disclaimer: I’ve never seen Sesame Street, not an episode of Mr. Rodgers. I hear he and OMWC get along just fine. Matchin’ vans think alike.
Don’t talk shit about Kermit!
Kermit the frog has probably done more good than any politician out there.
DO IT!
They can’t put out a readable press release?
And can’t mention in the description who it is?
Practically a sure thing
For jackpot winning hopefuls, the odds of winning have improved to one in 290.5 million from one in 302.6 million due to the game losing one gold ball. With 24 balls instead of 25, the odds of winning any prize is also improving from one in 24 to one in 23.
Here are five things that are more likely to happen to a person than winning the Mega Millions jackpot.

The odds of being crushed by a vending machine are relatively low at about one in 112 million, according to this Irish vending machines seller. The deaths are usually the result of a vending machine falling on someone who is trying to get an item that is stuck inside.
The pool of people dumb enough to pull a Coke machine over on themselves not same as total population. Recalculate.
My odds of being elected president is worse than average.
The pool of people dumb enough to pull a Coke machine over on themselves is the same as people who use the lottery as a retirement plan, though.
Being strong enough to pull a vending machine on top of yourself is another kettle of fish.
The odds are impossible yet someone always wins. Yes, I have had a statistics class.
My odds of being elected president is worse than average.
If Trump can do it..
So can Biden?
Speaking of football… saw a headline about Russel Wilson going to NY Giants. Making room for Aaron Rodgers?

I thought that was Tres Cool’s or Q’s beat.
In that vein, I think we’ve found the official salty snack of Glibertarians (or maybe just Q).

Canary in coal mine? A Democrat won the open Pa. Senate seat in Lancaster County, long held by a Republican and in a district that Trump carried by 16 percent in 2024.
Lazy, feckless GOP. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
You may be right – only 29% turnout and race was so close that – if you add the Libertarian candidate’s vote to that of Josh Parsons, the GOP candidate, he only lost by 3 (yes, 3) votes out of 53,000 cast. The high-motivated voter in 2026 is likely to be Blue.
creech, creech.
The narrative is never wrong. The Democrats cheated. There is nothing wrong with Trump or the Republican Party. It’s the Democrats cheated.
Please report for reeducation.
Or people simply tired of the entrenched party.
It reads like they held that seat since the 80s.
My town was reliably red until it wasn’t. And now only a decade of team blue it’s finally pushing back and OMG considering a non partisan government. For a town that’s like 35% Jewish made some of our elected officials switch to Team Red. Sure they are better than Team Blue, but they are exactly what you’d expect from such a “converted” Republican.
Am I supposed to be happy about these new northeast Republicans? They are exactly what you’d expect.
I’d register as a Republican if Thomas Massie and Rand Paul were representative of the party and not outcasts.
Better than proudly socialist Democrats. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have never registered with a party and never will. They are all shitbirds.
The two wings of the same bird of prey, the state.
It’s over. A Democrat won a state senate seat in an off-year election. Head for your bunkers, people.
🤪🤣
Yep, time to prepare for an AOC/Jazz landslide in ’28.
Trump’s support is starting to look like the Platte River: a mile wide but only an inch deep. Yes, most of s.e. Penna. has been turning bluer, but Lancaster County not so much. Even if it was, for Trump to have carried the district by 16% and the Party loses a senate seat there only 4 months later is pretty remarkable. It will only take a Blue Ripple in 2026 to turn the U.S. House over to Woke/Pinko Party.
CLEARLY THIS WAS A REFERENDUM ON TRUMP. NOTHING BUT TRUMP MATTERS.
ONLY TRUMP!!!
Team Red doesn’t show up for special elections. It is known.

Smart. They just want to avoid being herded into the camps here.
from my blog:
***
Connecticut 1818: Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state.
Kentucky 1792: [T]he right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
Massachusetts 1780: The people have a right to keep and to bear arms for the common defence.
North Carolina 1776: [T]he people have a right to bear arms, for the defence of the State; and, as standing armies, in time of peace, are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; and that the military should be kept under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.
Pennsylvania 1776: That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and the state; and as standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; And that the military should be kept under strict subordination, to, and governed by, the civil power.

Also, in the rough draft of the Bill of Rights, the right to keep and bear arms was the 5th.
That version is:
***
A well-regulated militia, being composed of the body of the people, being the bell security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, but no one religiously serupulous of bearing arms, shall be compelled to render military service in person.
***

So they cleared up the whole conscientious objector thing too way back then.
The second proposed amendment was:
***
No law varying the compensation to the members of Congress shall take effect until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.
***
That one got shelved for a while. It was ratified as the 27th amendment in 1992!
***
The proposed congressional pay amendment was largely forgotten until 1982, when Gregory Watson, a 19-year-old student at the University of Texas at Austin, wrote a paper for a government class in which he claimed that the amendment could still be ratified. He later launched a nationwide campaign to complete its ratification.[2][3] The amendment eventually became part of the United States Constitution, effective May 5, 1992

I’m beginning to think they bumped up the gun one and the speech one so no one would notice they could vote to raise their own pay.
That would’ve been a good trick even for Tricky Dick (who didn’t take office until January of ’69).
Oops.
Of course, Nixon toyed with the notion of making handguns illegal, so I think we can assume he would have eagerly signed it, given the chance.
I don’t understand why Nixon isn’t in the pantheon of Progressive idols.
I thought I had heard all the reasons why Nixon was a shitbag. Thanks for giving me another, more compelling one.

European Union citizens should stockpile enough food and other essential supplies to sustain them for at least 72 hours in the event of a crisis, the EU Commission has said.
In new guidance released Wednesday, the commission stressed the need for Europe to shift its mindset, to foster a culture of “preparedness” and “resilience.”
The 18-page document warns that Europe is facing a new reality marred with risk and uncertainty, citing Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine, rising geopolitical tensions, sabotage of critical infrastructure, and electronic warfare as prominent factors.
The Brussels initiative appears to serve as a wake-up call for members states to the gravity of the bloc’s security situation.
There’s nothing like a little panic buying to goose the economy.
That’s generally a good idea anyway. When I was you we were told we should do that in case of an earthquake or other natural disaster.
Overall, civilians should be encouraged to foster self-reliance and psychological resilience, the document states.
The commission also calls for the introduction of “preparedness” lessons in the school curricula, including giving pupils the skills to fight disinformation and information manipulation.
Isn’t that the exact opposite of the EU’s mission?
“But the question is how you can make words mean so many things?”
