For the love of god, find a tailor 72Sold guy

I said it before and I’ll say it again:  The nonstop Blake Masters is a capitalist shithead Mark Kelly ads are making me appreciate the 72Sold guy, who just wants to buy my house for thousands above my asking price and even allow me to live in it for up to six months while I find a new place.  At least he’s honest about his grift.

Now for some links!

Normally I’d make a joke about Don Brett being the hardest hit, but as it turns out he has supply chain options elsewhere and sees this as an opportunity to tighten the screws upon the thumbs of his meth monopoly.

You’re gonna love this one.  “But they don’t need to stay in Mexico.”  On a related not.

Now this is how you sell an enlistment in the Army.

“The left is on the rise in Latin America.  This is why we need Team Brandon to fill ambassador positions.”

You can’t fool me, this is just a MAGA campaign ad.

A Chilean constitution that bans private property and allows abortions in the ninth month of a pregnancy. Private companies counting votes. A flood of prisoners and recent migrants allowed to vote in the upcoming constitutional referendum.

All these stories have gone viral on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and WhatsApp in Chile as citizens prepare to vote on a new constitution on Sept. 4, but all are inaccurate.

I almost wish that Longtorso guy was around to explain Bolsonaro.

I think you go to sleep thinking about me. You have a crush on me,” Bolsonaro told Vera Magalhães after she asked him about Brazil’s Covid-19 vaccination rate. “You are a disgrace to journalism in Brazil,” he said

Almost.

Turn it all the way up, and have a great Tuesday!

How Two Mexican Drug Cartels Came to Dominate America’s Fentanyl Supply

With business savvy and growing power in Mexico, the Sinaloa and rival Jalisco cartels dominate the market for supplying fentanyl to the U.S. They cornered the market after China cracked down on fentanyl production several years ago and are now churning out bootleg versions of the highly potent synthetic opioid that, in its legal form, is used under prescription to treat severe pain.

    • Swiss Servator

Wait…chemistry works in Mexico too, not just China?!

Russia Confounds the West by Recapturing Its Oil Riches

Russia pumps almost as much oil into the global market as it did before its invasion of Ukraine. With oil prices up, Moscow is also making more money…
Although many European countries and the U.S. have reduced their imports of Russian oil, countries in Asia and the Middle East are buying more, which has helped Russia maintain its oil export levels.

      • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

It does, but the mixers spin the opposite direction south of the border, so you have to adjust your recipes accordingly.

      • Not Adahn

That’s what caused the problems with Thalidomide.

    • Dr. Fronkensteen

What is the number of people starting to use fentanyl in a year? How long is life expectancy when you start?

Killing your clients quickly while not getting new ones seems like losing strategy. Even if you do make a quick buck out of it.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Isn’t it used to cut other drugs to give them an extra kick? Killing the occasional heroin user can actually be good for business, means it’s good stuff.

      • Tonio

Okay, I’m a bad person. I see every drug overdose death as an individual having solved at least one problem for society. But having said that I believe that drugs should be legal so that the only overdoses are deliberate actions by those who realize they have been worthless POS and that they have irreparably harmed others.

      • Animal

Tonio, if that makes you a bad person, then I’m a bad person too.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

Depends on the victim? Especially if dosed (leaving out the utterly unknowingly so).

I wrote “deliberate actions” but “deliberate suicides” would have better communicated what I was thinking.

      • Fourscore

Add my name to your list(s) Tonio/Animal. I just think it’s one less homeless person the street that died doing what they wanted to do.

      • Count Potato

There are plenty of users who aren’t a problem for society.

      • Toxteth O'Grady

        🍻

      • Fatty Bolger

And also, a great many of the problems are caused by illegality more than the drugs themselves.

      • Animal

When the clients are people who are already engaging in self-destructive behavior, the idea of it being a little more self-destructive probably isn’t going to deter them.

      • Fatty Bolger

Probably not. But they will tend to take the safer choice if it’s readily available, which is why oxycontin was so popular.

      • Tonio

New users tells only part of the story. It’s more like:

    https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2022/02/michael-hudson-americas-real-adversaries-are-its-european-and-other-allies.html

What worries American diplomats is that Germany, other NATO nations and countries along the Belt and Road route understand the gains that can be made by opening up peaceful trade and investment. If there is no Russian or Chinese plan to invade or bomb them, what is the need for NATO? And if there is no inherently adversarial relationship, why do foreign countries need to sacrifice their own trade and financial interests by relying exclusively on U.S. exporters and investors?

These are the concerns that have prompted French President Macron to call forth the ghost of Charles de Gaulle and urge Europe to turn away from what he calls NATO’s “brain-dead” Cold War and beak with the pro-U.S. trade arrangements that are imposing rising costs on Europe while denying it potential gains from trade with Eurasia. Even Germany is balking at demands that it freeze by this coming March by going without Russian gas.

I must concede her lone accomplishment here: Just when you think Meghan Markle can’t get any more delusional, she outdoes herself. Her self-regard runs in direct opposition to her waning relevance. Unhappy with her initial outfit for her first-round match against France’s Harmony Tan, Andreescu asked the chair umpire if she could change into new gear, while hoping the interlude wouldn’t count as an official bathroom break. Andreescu then placed the blame squarely on an uncomfortable design from her sponsor.

    • B.P.

Did he start off by referring to himself in the second person?

    • Dr. Fronkensteen

      Parliament? Forget it he’s rolling.

      • Rat on a train

Well, he does think he is king.

Back to painting floors. That last gallon of Kilz didn’t go nearly as far as I expected. This subfloor, whatever it is, is thirsty.

    • Fourscore

Were you able get the problem worked out with the realtor?

  26. KK the Porcine Pearl-Eater

OBE! I OTed my own article last night, but not sure you saw it. Blancolirio posted a video about your North Vegas collision

    • Ownbestenemy

      I’ll check it out. Thanks!

      • Ownbestenemy

It’s so fucking bad. I’m expecting FAA to get sued as no traffic calls or even situational awareness of left and right patterns…

  27. The Late P Brooks

    Whose side are you on?

“It’s sickening to see the new attacks on the FBI, threatening the lives of law enforcement agents and their families for simply carrying out the law and doing their job,” Biden said during a visit to the key swing state of Pennsylvania.

    ——-

“Let me say this to my MAGA Republican friends in Congress, don’t tell me you support law enforcement if you won’t condemn what happened on a sixth, don’t tell me, you can’t do it,” Biden said.

“For God’s sake, whose side are you on? On the side of a mob or the side of the police? You can’t be pro-law enforcement and pro-insurrection. You can’t be a party of law and order and call the people who attack the police on January 6 patriots. You can’t do it,” he said.

He offers us ORDER. The rabble must be kept in their place..
    .

    • UnCivilServant

His teleprompter speaks of order, his handlers deliver chaos.

    • Zwak. And once again, the mall is his Waterloo

Funny, I never heard anyone on the left bitching about ACAB.

      Fuckin’ loser.

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

Remind me again about those mostly peaceful protests…

  28. The Late P Brooks

<em.Biden delivered a fiery speech at a midterm elections rally and a Democratic fundraiser in Maryland last week, where he lashed out at Republicans who have embraced the “Make America Great Again” philosophy central to Donald Trump’s presidency, saying it’s “like semi-fascism,” a comment that was immediately rebuked by the GOP.

    Republicans are just sore losers.

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

I’d just ask him to define the term.

      Only rebuttal you’d need.

      • hayeksplosives

        Stupid party is stupid.

I wish they’d quit playing by antiquated rules of etiquette and go for the throat. They will never persuade moderates by being polite. Trump showed that people want straight unapologetic talk. He won despite being crude and silly just because he spoke plain facts on the things that matter to voters.

      • Scruffy Nerfherder

They’re civilized and do not participate in such heathen activities.

    • The Hyperbole

      Sounds about right.

    • Ownbestenemy

His handlers are walking a thin line

  29. The Late P Brooks

Were you able get the problem worked out with the realtor?

No. It’s going to be ugly, I suspect.

    • hayeksplosives

      Oy.

Best of luck. Hope you don’t have to lose too much money on legal fees.

  30. hayeksplosives

    Hey peeps. I hope everyone’s having a good afternoon/evening.

I just got out of a marathon (8am-3:30pm) training on how to categorize articles properly, as in nuclear weapon related, nuclear energy related, other defense related, etc.

    So. Much. Legalese.

Honestly it was pretty interesting. We had some group exercises at the end where we worked through some scenarios with help from the instructors.

But there was one disturbing element: both instructors mentioned that our company is now being “pressured” to hire foreign nationals in order to avoid discrimination accusations. They tiptoed around it (they’re lawyers after all) but definitely hinted that it was due to the “current executive administration.”

FFS, we are talking about nuclear weapons capability, people! Doesn’t that take priority over diversity and inclusion??

      • hayeksplosives

        *barf*

You gotta add a trigger warning!!

      • Grosspatzer

Wait – “nonbinary drag queen”? Doesn’t drag involve dressing as a member of the opposite gender sex persuasion? Seems binary by definition, but I’m sure someone will enlighten me.

      • hayeksplosives

How about “insane”? That would cover it.

We need to blast ads of these ridiculous identity group hires to voters so they know what the Donkey party really values. It ain’t your abuela, it ain’t your church-going granny, and it ain’t blue collar calloused hands workers.

      • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

To be fair, you probably can’t blackmail that guy into giving up secrets. He just puts it all out there. And if you were to torture him, he’d probably just enjoy it.

      • hayeksplosives

Ze is also less of a security threat than someone who is still allegiant to the CCP.

      • R C Dean

How do you know zit isn’t on the CCP payroll?

    • Grosspatzer

FFS, we are talking about nuclear weapons capability, people!

That doesn’t matter, Trump already shared all that information.

      • hayeksplosives

        Lol, sure.

That’s certainly what they’d have you believe.

The fucking Clintons should be executed for treason for giving our missile secrets to the Chinese in the 90s.

Did I say give? I meant sold.

      • The Bearded Hobbit

@HE LANL was the same way. I’ll be it’s worse now.

There’s a good chance that we will be in your neck o’ the woods in mid-Sept. So-Nev meet-up?

      • hayeksplosives

A meet up would be awesome! We know that Ownbestenemy is in Begas, and Pat and I are in Pahrump. I’m sure we could figure something out.

      • Ownbestenemy

        I’m game

      • The Bearded Hobbit

Mom passed away about three weeks ago and we need to take her ashes to Montana so that she can rest next to Dad. Her Montana memorial is set for Sep 24. I have some lab tests coming up and if they go one way then we will have to scoot up and back. If they go the other way then we get to have our opportunity to take a honeymoon for our 50th which would include invading a number of Glibs along the way. If all works, we would be there Friday the 16th.

      • hayeksplosives

There have been major insider espionage incidents at both LANL and Sandia in the past couple of decades. LLNL just doesn’t report theirs because a bunch of them are sympathizers!! (Ok, I made that LLNL thing up but it’s plausible!!)

    • JaimeRoberto (carnitas/spicy salsa)

Say hi to your new colleagues, Mo and Fang Fang.

They could make a pretty funny movie out of that, if anyone had the guts.

    • hayeksplosives

I should add that the examples of gross violations of export (which can be physical parts or information in any form) were all dual citizens or naturalized citizens. Chinese, Indonesian, and unspecified Eastern European.

      • The Bearded Hobbit

Win Ho Lee. It was only a coincidence that China had the exact same design on their nukes a year after he started.

      • hayeksplosives

They’re a thing. We went over it for half an hour.

      • Dr. Fronkensteen

I’m sorry. I work in exports. I feel you pain.

    • Not Adahn

Or targeting matrix needs to be formulated on the basis of equity and the oppression of historical colonization.

      • Not Adahn

Also, all nuclear detonations need to be offset by purchasing carbon credits from the following list of approved vendors.

    • rhywun

      Insane.

    • Fatty Bolger

Well, look at the DOJ going after SpaceX. I have little doubt that it’s due to other countries having trouble getting their spies into the company (or at least one country in particular), and putting pressure on Washington to make it happen.

      • hayeksplosives

        I fear for Elon’s life.

        Seriously.

    • Rat on a train

It’s discriminatory that foreign nationals don’t get Top Secret clearances.

      • The Bearded Hobbit

… and they yank the clearances of people who show up positive on a drug test of questionable accuracy. I know of two people personally (and one anecdotally) who were burned by false positives.

Pug rescue home visit went swimmingly! Now I just wait for the right dog to come along. Foster families review applications and decide to whom to offer a dog.
