Morning hope everyone had a good weekend
It was a good and increasingly rate poke around the house and few commitments kind of weekend. Good. We even painted our porch. It’s a 105 year old home so even the tiniest bit of care goes a long way.
Yeah, I am starting to think I might have a sinus infection due to the seasonal pollen allergies thing again since I have had trouble breathing (and thus sleeping) all weekend, but I survived.
Thanks, you too! We got a new kitty cat Chez Humungous – I want to name him Chairman Meow.
It was. Got the pool under control and now just have to balance out the water. Took care of our neighbors weeds and leaves for them to give the old man who just turned 85 a day of rest.

Daily Ray of Sunshine
It was a sweltering weekend here in Sunny Minnesoda, but the heat index couldn’t hold a candle to the red hot Chicago Blackhawk sled hockey team that sauntered into town.
The Blackhawks were led by a steely-eyed, hard checking defenseman we all know as The Other Kevin. TOK led his team to yet another championship at this year’s tournament.
Your humble reporter was unable to make the preliminary rounds where the sacrificial goats went down 3-1 and 6-1 (he learned about the scores from an anonymous tipster who sent a gloating text about the Blackhawk’s dominance).
The next day, the reporter managed to escape from his editor who wanted him to do more yardwork and caught the Blackhawks playing the Minnesoda Wild. In a blatant attempt to intimidate our favorite sons of Chicago, the Wild were being coached by 4 current and former NHL Wild players.
The reporter only knew this because a couple of young girls in front of him were telling their mom who they were. The only two the reporter remembers were Spurgen and Foligno. They really squealed over Foligno. The reporter asked them about our man #2 on the Blackhawks, but such was their pro-Minnesoda bias that they refused to admit that TOK was clearly the better catch.
The intimidation didn’t work. TOK turned his steely gaze on his teammates and they responded by stiffening their spines and winning 2-1. The first goal was set up when TOK checked the Wild player with the puck that was leading the rush. TOK’s bone crunching hit jarred the puck loose and it went to a teammate who flipped it forward to another Blackhawk for a breakaway goal.
Clinging to a 1-0 goal, the Wild nearly had a break away goal themselves, but #2 on the Blackhawks determinedly skated the Wild player down and kept them from gettng a clean shot. TOK also cleared the puck away from the goal after it rebounded in front of the goalie. The locals were all groaning that their best chance of the day had been thwarted.
The entire town was buzzing about the big Championship Game on Sunday. Your reporter – living up to the highest standards of journalism – can’t for the life of himself remember the name of the Blackhawk’s opponent so he will just make up a name here: Florida Blaze?
The game was truly an epic clash of titans. Both teams came out and gave (and got) the best of themselves. Each team had plenty of good shots on goal. Both goalies were on fire though and only one goal – until a late empty netter – was scored.
It was a physical game too. The Blackhawks showed their wokeness by ringing the bell of a girl on the Florida Blaze (no chivalry here!) in a nasty pileup in the corner. Our own TOK had to wobble his way back to the bench at one point after another big pileup.
In the end, though, Truth, Honor and The American Way triumphed and the Blackhawks took away the trophy (which was a big wooden belt) again this year. After the game the Blackhawks were still coming to grips with their win. Even having to talk to a local journalo couldn’t dampen their enthusiasm. They gushed about how good of a game the championship had been.
All in all, your intrepid reporter had a great time watching the sled hockey tournament this year. The level of competition was much better than it had been the year before. No blowouts at all, all games were hard fought and fun to watch. If TOK and his crew show up in your area, it is highly recommended that you get out to watch them.
We had a record or near record setting crappy overcast low temp weekend here in the “People’s Republic of Connecticut”.
Way to go TOK!
🙂
Congrats to TOK and the rest of the Blackhawks!
Congrats to the Blackhawks and TOK, a well deserved win against the presumabley Grain Belt drinkers. Journalism at its best as well, hard hitting, in the trenches, unbiased and without fluff.
All around good news.
Next year, you need to come down and be the official press photog for the tourney.
Congrats, TOK.
Thanks, Jimbo, for that wonderfully written dispatch. I miss old-school, turgid, sports writing. “Your reporter,” for the win.
Now, the stick: at 600 words it would have made a decent short article, particularly if there were a decent number of photographs. Editors are standing by to help.
I copied and saved it, so if he doesn’t want to write it I’ll combine it with my write up.
Oh, thank you!
I’ll give away all my intellectual property claims. I wouldn’t want to dox TOK by accident publishing a picture of him. After all, there are only so many devastatingly handsome men, so figuring out who he is wouldn’t be hard.
Thanks. Though I could be easily doxxed. There are only so many Kevin’s on my team, and clearly I am not the Paralympic one.
Reminds me of Pat Hughes call to lead off the broadcast.
“Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air! It’s Pat Hughes reporting…”
Now you have me blushing. Especially since I posted a lame comment below without reading this first. It was such a fun weekend. A lot of the players we had either play down on a team where they’re the only good player, or up on a team where they’re dominated by the Paralympic guys. This was a chance for everyone to play at an even skill level and actually work as a team.
The team we beat was Space Coast Blast (from Florida). We played them earlier in the weekend, and one of our younger guys scored 4 times on their supposedly amazing goalie. Then in the final game, in the stuff of nightmares, that same kid got a breakaway and scored that first goal. That had to be quiet an “oh shit” moment for that goalie when he saw who was barreling down the ice at him. Then that same kid score on an empty net.
Thanks for the update.
The kid that TOK is talking about is a really good scorer. If I was TOK, I might be a bit miffed at him because the kid is always cherry picking. Instead of getting down in the gritty, he hangs out at the blue line on defense and waits for TOK or someone to launch a long outlet pass. Then he chases it down and gets a bunch of goals.
One time he was even hanging out when the other team was on the power play. And he almost got a short handed goal.
Like I said a good player, but I could see myself getting irritated a bit with his lack of defensive committment.
That’s a bad habit he picked up playing on his regular team. We’re trying to work that out of him. Meanwhile his teammate, the center, was playing end to end and checking everyone in sight. He’s getting it.
Was his teammate #15. That guy was fast.
Yep, that was him. I think those two will play with us full time next year, and the girl will too because she’s moving from Ohio to Chicago for college. We might get rid of our A team altogether and just have one team, which will be essentially the team you saw plus a few more B-level players.
Haha! Perfect.
Tell Reusse and Russo it’s time to hang it up!
“Lawmaker probing J6 security failures: ‘People of interest’ may have withheld critical intel”
What people would this be? The US DOJ/FBI/CIA/NSA/DHS/Congress or court system? Cause they are the ones we know for sure did that.
“Democrat-led J6 panel added audio to silent security video for primetime hearings”
So not only did they withhold information, but they made a lot more up? What could be wrong with that. I guess we will soon have our on Tiananmen square incident in the US.
Did Schiff write the script?
IANAL, but I think that would/should meet the definition of simple fraud, although damages and standing would be tough. I wonder (but too lazy to look) if there’s a law against lying to congress and whether it actually applies to congress itself. I know there is immunity for what happens on the House floor while congress is in session, but the tapes weren’t tampered with on the house floor. Some congresscritter(s) somewhere, somewhen directed others (aides, permanent staff) to do that. Conspiracy?
Something something bigots.

“ATF: Pot Users Can’t Legally Own Firearms Regardless Of State Laws:ATF: Pot Users Can’t Legally Own Firearms Regardless Of State Laws”
Fuck your 2A rights! We will disarm you so we can better abuse you no matter what!
Do pot heads lose their 3rd amendment rights as well?
Only those living in momma’s basment.
Thats different! We get to pick and choose which rights we can deny.
Walz and his National Guard hardest hit. Even possessing a firearm. Summer camp will not be the same.
Federally they can’t legally grow marijuana either.
Is this not a step in the process of ultimately de-scheduling pot at the Federal level? Once it becomes so normalized at the state level, pressure must build on Congress to remove the federal penalties. Not just the threat to gun rights, but the threat of arbitrary enforcement and seizures by DEA or crusader USDAs or crooked local cops bent on sharing the proceeds of forfeiture.
Desperately defending/denying the existence and role of the idiots in the Americanized cultural revolution as it seems to be running out of gas.
The Left has been in revolt against shame and judgement for a very long time. What he really means is “Don’t you dare judge me or anyone else.”
Moral relativism is their true faith.
Without moral relativism, they would have a real hard time arguing for their actions and belief that there is a different set of rules for them compared to those that are not part of them.
Interestingly, but not surprisingly, I’ve seen the same individuals posting “woke means good u h8rs” one month on their social media, then the next month posting “there is no woke.”
This was an interesting read.
You mean I can burn wokists at the stake?
WOOT!
I see her point as it relates to the more NT oriented churches, which is almost all of them these days.
I guess the ATF/4473 thing is making the news because of Hunter? That’s policy’s NEVER been in question since Fedgov still criminalizes cannabis use.
I believe it was a clarification to try to prevent people from using Hunter as a defense if they’re prosecuted, and potentially something the Feds may (if they can find an unreasonable prosecutor) try to hang on Hunter to deflect from any other issues he may be embroiled in.
Given the rarity of prosecutions for perjury on a 4473 (consider all of the legitimately rejected NICS results), it would be a very unreasonable prosecutor – without even giving consideration to the specific perp’s political connections.
I know enough gun people who smoke up, that I wonder exactly how many prosecutions there have been for this particular white lie on the 4473.
And being how most of the people I know are upper middle class white/Asians, I wonder how BATFE hasn’t had a disparate impact lawsuit rammed up their ass yet…
I recall at least one prosecutor in California matched up a list of CA medical marijuana users with a list of registered gun owners. I don’t know the number of prosecutions stemming from it, but I assume the model will be widely implemented sooner or later where lists exist for both groups.
The objective is to disarm the people and that will always remain the priority of the globalists.
They’re way, way too late.
If I were to go into a legal pot shop, I would most definitely not use my NY DL as ID. I mean in ME, I’d never go into a NY pot shop.
I guess the ATF/4473 thing is making the news because of Hunter? That’s policy’s NEVER been in question since Fedgov still criminalizes cannabis use.
Didn’t Minnesota just “legalize” pot? I think it was a response to that.
Never mind the legality of the sale if it isn’t from a federally licensed dealer.
States have legalized MJ for a long time. Heck even NY did it.
Yup we just finalized legislation and King Walz signed it a couple of weeks ago legalizing it. Some cowboy down at the local ATF sent out that memo “reminding” us serfs that that we can’t own guns if you don’t obey Fed gun laws.
A couple of months ago, a guy was going nuts in the locker room because he could smell pot. The guy was a cop in one of the local suburbs and was at the gym working out. Absolutely incensed that someone had toked up (or whatever is the cool lingo you potheads use now-a-days) in the locker room.
The off duty cop was even madder that the rest of us didn’t care either. Especially since someone from a couple locker rows over said “Give it up. It is going to be legal anyhow”. The cop did not take kindly to that anonymous opinion.
Honestly it got funnier and funnier. The cop finally stormed off muttering about talking to management.
No one called him a Karen?
No. They guy is built like a gorilla. He may be dumb, but he is definitely not lacking in muscles. Typical of the New Professional who shaves head and is belligerent as fuck all the time. Always an asshole on the gym floor.
Officer Roidhead eh?
Deputy Donut.
Exchange the doobie for a cigarette and imagine how this scene plays out.
I mean, I don’t really blame him. Weed smoke smells like ass, even by locker room standards.
If you feel like getting that pre-workout high, be polite. Stick to edibles.
Agree that it wasn’t very Minnesoda Nice to smoke in the locker room. I don’t think anyone supported that.
The rub was the cop wanted us to all join his posse and go find the evil pot head. It is hard to explain in words how offended that cop was about someone smoking reefer.
There’s a line between “that was rude” and “let’s form a posse and take him to jail.”
“Hey Buddy, stop doing that.”
Funny you should say that.
Hey, any one of you Glibronis have a dress I can borrow so I can Get some OnlyFans money making videos for the people that get off on bathroom antics?
That’s perfect.
As usual the aggressor is the “victim”.
That’s what woke is, not empathetic.
Apparently this happened in the employee locker room of the government bus service. Someone is looking for a payday and/or a desk job.
Nothing a helicopter ride couldn’t fix.
As rage-inducing as this is, this sort of thing is occurring more frequently and may be the tipping-point for keeping biological males out of women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.
Remember that people outside the QUILTBAG movement asked what was to prevent this happening, and the movement always sidestepped the question.
I thought the tipping point was going to be the gradual elimination of girls’/women’s sports. Wrong.
The nation has become feckless
Not enough women play sports. All women use bathrooms.
I may burn in hell for saying this (or get charged with hate-think), but the fact that the trans person is claiming PTSD just shows that they have mentail illness.
I realized over the weekend that I haven’t heard the saying, “I disaprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it” in probably at least 25 years. It used to be common, especially on the left.
Musk should make it the twitter motto.
I’ve never heard it beyond a reference to something some French guy once said.
May or may not have said.
Like a lot of things attributed to Mark Twain.
“I’ve said a lot of things that I didn’t say,” – Yogi Berra.
I associate it with 80s era ACLU members.
Those wrong-thinkers???
I hate Illinois… Nazis.
I am sure I have never heard that from anyone on the left. My recollection was that leftists always were the ones to challenged the right of leftists, especially marxists, to speak and sometimes, mostly incidentally, defended the right for all to speak. That was necessary for them to coopt the various institutions of power, and especially those of learning. Once they got control of these institutions free speech quickly became approved speech, with anything they disliked being labeled hate speech.
Remember, “It’s a free country”? That’s another one that hasn’t been used so much in recent memory.
Likewise “Make a federal case out of it”
+1 “It’s a free country.”
When they were a small minority, the radical left was all about free speech. That got switched off once the media and law enforcement institutions were fully taken over.
Now I could run a around a park with a burning American flag and nobody would lift a finger. If I burned a rainbow flag in public, I’d do hard time.
Fetch your pitchfork Tundra!
* If you are dumb enough to read the story, there is an alternative reason given for the removal and it is far more plausible. But why let facts get in the way of a good Outrage?
I was dumb enough to read it.
Yeah, it was clearly removed for benign reasons, but as you say, that makes for a pretty boring story.
I love those pics and remember them at CU. I haven’t been in the Union in many, many years. Has it been completely ruined?

I’m trying to picture a convenience store run by the government. Then I remembered the old Soviet Union.

Do you know how important Rent Control is to Mpls proggies? So important that it caused the incumbent city council president – a trans black woman – to lose to a white guy.
Some connected people made some quick & good money from that rent control racket.
1. Property purchased for rental
2. Tenant never pays rent. City tells landlord that they cannot evict deadbeat.
3. Landlord has to sell because they can’t afford mortgage with no rental income coming in.
4. New law gives deadbeat first crack at buying rental property. Law sets an arbitrarily below market price on property. The deadbeats are given buckets of money from various govt agencies to secure a mortgage.
5. Deadbeat doesn’t pay bank either. Laws prevent bank from foreclosing.
Did I miss any steps there?
He also supported limiting landlords’ ability to evict tenants without just cause.
One wonders what ‘just cause’ is, if it isn’t paying rent?

Even though she almost certainly did it.
Maybe it was because they couldn’t explain what a woman was anymore and thus they just caved in to her defense?
She was past the reproductive age and would no longer be a threat to her children. Just keep her away from DayCare employment.
Dingo killed my babies?
Met my new next door neighbor last weekend. We are doing some work at the new house then moving in sometime next month. Some of my property runs behind his lot and we talked about my plans to make some of that area an orchard.
Called me this morning to let me know he shot a wild pig back there. It was a sow and the piglets are still running around so he and a friend are going to try to trap them. I thanked him – hopefully the boar goes away and doesn’t hang around to ruin my garden and orchard.
So you are setting up a boar all you can eat buffet, it sounds like…
Maybe. His buddy is going to process the meat.
The carcass of a non-functional refrigerator makes a decent smoker, just sayin’.
Although the meat from the sow may be pretty strong/gamey, depending on how old it is and what it’s been eating.
Even better cold smoker or dehydrator
Those piglets would be some fine eating, though.

Fuel…and should be easy to verify by requesting flight records and how much fuel they were blocked off for prior to takeoff.
Just saw a twat from the White House claiming Joe Biden has created more jobs than any other President.
I realize he has expanded the government, but do people really believe the President “creates” jobs? Admittedly, he can destroy them.
I don’t think the Bureau of Labor Statistics could lie any harder than they have been for the past couple of years. It’s truly off the charts.

In other words, it’s all bullshit.

That doesn’t sound constitutional.
Well, the ATF isn’t constitutional but that doesn’t matter either.
Remember that mostly peaceful DFL endorsement in Minneapolis where our new Somali neighbors got a little too enthusiastic with the democratic process. Well the dude that was perma-banned from ever getting a DFL endorsement is still running.
I’m predicting that there may be actual indictments for voter fraud if he runs and comes close to winning. The local DFL machine knows where all the fraudulent ballots are. If this guy threatens the process, they might actually ring him up for the usual vote mining of the Somali community.

I no longer pay attention to that. Nobody’s going to have a big offensive and win the war. The US will keep pumping in weapons and money and it will be months or years of stalemate.
You would think after WWI no one would ever again fight a war of attrition.
Why would you think that?
With the amount of money we are dumping into this, of course it was going to end this way.
Just like the Germans, the Russians never dreamed that it would be anything but a quick decisive victory.

Considering the ineptitude of government, he is not setting a low enough bar for them.
At a punk show last summer, there was a guy in a wheelchair wearing that shirt. I’ve got some footage of him in the mosh pit, in his chair, getting the attention of the lead singer who came down into the crowd to sing with him

UR was destined to be another rhyming dictionary but for once I guessed the right letter on the 2nd try.
Mr. Toyoda deserves support for speaking the truth about EVs, and it’s a shame he’s the only auto leader with the courage to do it.
Heresy.
We’ll just pluck batteries and charging stations from the magic hat.
Really? Did he admit it’s a grift and an environmentally disastrous one at that?
They’ve long advocated hybrids make the best environmental sense given the cost both financial and environmental and scarcity of battery manufacture.
That plays to their strength in hybrid technology, so it IS self serving, but it doesn’t make it false.
As the owner of a hybrid, I’ve found that they are not an improvement over ICE.
The weight of the batteries makes it no more efficient than a good ICE (and often less so), while it has all the environmental negatives of an EV except the powerplant emmissions.
I think it depends on your driving patterns. If you are stopping and starting a lot, the batteries help. If you are doing a lot of freeway driving, you are just hauling a lot of weight around.
Also, in things you never hear anymore:
“Don’t make a federal case out of it.”
We did it! After a pretty shitty hockey season, my coach let us take a combined A + B team to Minnesota for my favorite tournament. Four difficult, close games later we were 4-0 and took the Tier 1 championship. I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun playing hockey. And our own Pope Jimbo got to see two games. (THANK YOU for coming out!) This one will definitely make it into an article.
Awesome TOK! Damn I miss playing
Winning!
Awesome job, TOK!
Hey, I was there too!
You don’t really think it was their hockey ability that won those games do you? Before you doubt my mojo, let me remind you that I was the good luck charm that won them last year’s championship
Congrats! 🙂

Upper right turned into a rhyming game.
It’s got everything in one story. “Migrants”, drunks, cyclists, pedestrians.
Given my experiences with cyclists disregarding every single fucking traffic regulation in Manhattan my working assumption is the bicyclist set off the tragic set of events.
One killed and four injured after car crashes into group on lower Manhattan street corner ‘including migrants from a nearby shelter’
Reads like DUI to me.
Me too.
My cyclist bashing is a bit of a joke, but suggesting he or she spooked the drunk into overreacting.
But yes, cyclists should be held accountable when they don’t follow the rules of the road.
It was an inspired guess
Shares in Equitrans Midstream Corporation were down 35% last year. On May 24, a few days before an agreement was struck, a mystery trader bought 100,000 call options — essentially bets on a stock-price increase — on Equitrans Midstream. Then, on May 27, the debt deal including the Mountain Valley Pipeline was struck.
Following that announcement, Equitrans Midstream shares jumped 49%.
From the looks of it, the bet earned the trader $7.5 million as of last Friday, according to Bloomberg. The options are still outstanding, so that number could grow in the event that Equitrans Midstream continues to rally.
That kind of perfect timing is, needless to say, fishy. The deal on Mountain Valley was kept secret up until the debt deal was announced. Some are suspicious enough they want it investigated for potential insider trading.
I predict an exhaustive investigation, covering at least two years, which will be quietly abandoned.
Short term or long term options.
If short term, that is super fishy. Long term, not as much.
“Equitrans” sounds like another ESG outfit.
Gender bending horses is what I think.
Goodbye horses?

Yes, but Liz Cheney was there to assure us everything was on the up and up.
There was a followup on the story of the yoots what stole and ate someone’s swan.
Refugees from Myanmar. Their excuse was “we thought it was just a big duck.” My personal opinion is they need to make restitution and be given a short lesson on hunting regs.
I was sympathetic until I saw the grin on the guy in the photograph.
Now I am biased against him.
It happened in Manlius. I only ever remember that town as part of the “Manlius-Pebble Hill” school district that was on the snow day announcements while I waited for the Syracuse City Schools to finally call a cancellation.
Yep, no jail time. Pay for the bird, class on regs like you said and very clear that if you kill another or violate the regs, then we know you were lying and the clink for you.
Oh, but it wasn’t just somebody’s swan, it was a civic swan, owned by the town!
I am now wondering why the town has enough money to spend on swans.
“Refugees” from the color revolution the CIA tried there. It’s over so maybe they should go home?
Authoritarianism has its perks
Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Monday received one of New Zealand’s highest honors for her service leading the country through a mass shooting and pandemic.
Ardern was made a Dame Grand Companion, the second-highest honor in New Zealand, as part of King Charles III’s Birthday Honors. It means people will now call her Dame Jacinda. Royal honorees are typically chosen twice a year in New Zealand by the prime minister and signed off by Charles, the British king who is also recognized as New Zealand’s king.
Ardern was just 37 when she became prime minister in 2017, and was seen as a global icon of the left.
——-
She was facing mounting political pressures at home, including for her handling of COVID-19, which was initially widely lauded but later criticized by those opposed to mandates and rules.
Those crazy peasants, objecting to rules and mandates imposed by experts. Who cares what they think? It’s not like they had any substantive arguments.
🙄🙄🙄
Everyone else friggin’ hates her.
Every morning, since I get up around 5 am, I do some air gun shooting in my basement. Lately, I have been shooting a Diana 45 that I recently picked up at a garage sale. And I have to say, this is a sweet shooting rifle! I am dialing in a diopter sight for it, and this is todays target: https://ibb.co/J7qkfNG
One flyer, a nice group, and a bull. (The shot on the upper left was from another gun/pellet combo.) Pretty happy with this.
“Leading New Zealand’s response to the 2019 terrorist attacks and to the COVID-19 pandemic represented periods of intense challenge for our 40th prime minister, during which time I saw firsthand that her commitment to New Zealand remained absolute,” Hipkins said in a statement.
Fifty-one Muslim worshippers were killed during Friday prayers in the 2019 attack at two Christchurch mosques by a white supremacist gunman.
Within weeks of the attack, Ardern led major changes to New Zealand’s gun laws by banning assault weapons. More than 50,000 guns were handed over to police during a subsequent buyback scheme.
Don’t call it collective punishment.
That would be a violation of international law, right?
Right?
Someone was winging it.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident. No survivors were found, according to a emailed statement from the Virginia State Police.
A Cessna Citation aircraft, a business jet, departed from Elizabethton, Tenn., and was bound for Long Island MacArthur Airport in New York, the FAA said. But instead of landing, the plane turned around over Long Island and flew a straight path over D.C.
NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) F-16 jets intercepted the Cessna plane around 3:20 p.m., NORAD said in a statement. The pilot was found unresponsive, NORAD said, and the military aircraft tried to make contact with the Cessna pilot until the plane crashed near the George Washington National Forest in Virginia.
“The NORAD aircraft were authorized to travel at supersonic speeds and a sonic boom may have been heard by residents in the region,” NORAD said.
You’ll scramble for this but not a spy balloon.
*Adjusts tin foil hat* Well, NORAD pulled the flight information, owner of the plane, etc and realized it was a crazed NRA member. Well, their family members at least. Who could do insurrection on the capitol.
The question remains: What caused the private jet to crash?
Fuel…and should be easy to verify by requesting flight records and how much fuel they were blocked off for prior to takeoff.
Oh, you.
There are four forces acting on the plane
The captain gives it a go
Copilot gives it a go
Fuck off, you unserious cuntes.
A group of African American academics is pushing for a UN ‘reparations tribunal’ to make Washington pay multimillion dollar sums to black citizens for slavery-era abuses, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Justin Hansford, a professor at Howard University School of Law, led the charge for $5 million payouts to black Americans at the UN this week, flanked by colleagues from the University of Pittsburgh and Columbia University.
The long-shot effort underscores how reparation payouts are unpopular among white American taxpayers and have little chance of becoming federal law, leaving advocates scrambling for a workaround.
‘I come to you today with a novel proposal, that we begin to think our own thoughts, propose our own vision of justice, and implement that justice,’ Hansford told UN racial justice talks in New York City this week.
Now do every other person who is inevitably descendant from slaves. We are literally all descendant from slaves and slave owners.
Fork it over Whitey. Also that equates to about 65 trillion bucks. Maybe we can pay our reparations with free remedial math classes.
I make it about 187.5 trillion (37.5MM black americans * 5MM each)
Yeah, I was thinking 13 million but it’s 13 percent so you’re right.
Even with our new, gigantic, unsustaniable budget of ~ 6T/yr that’s over 31 years of the entirety of the federal budget.
Well the good news it won’t be worth anything after injecting that much ‘wealth’ into the world out of thin air
make Washington pay
How do they think that would work?
Heh.
Would.
Texas governor says he wants to eliminate property taxes
Why not just reduce them to the unimproved value of the land, a la Milton Friedman?
ummm…you mean a la Henry George?
But, yeah, Friedman agreed.
I did Nazi government directed patriotism coming.
The center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) presented a proposal to the German parliament last week that touches a nerve that has been bothering the country since the end of World War II: When can Germans be proud to be German again?
Germany, the conservative party said, should hold a national commemoration day on May 23 to mark the adoption of the German constitution, or Basic Law, in 1949, along with a new “Federal Program of Patriotism.” The latter would include plans to:
-Increase the “year-round visibility” of national symbols — especially the national flag — in public spaces
-Have the national anthem sung more often on public occasions.
-Have the German military hold more public ceremonies and roll calls “in order to emphasize the bond between the armed forces and civil society and to develop the patriotic potential of this connection.”
How about no? I’m all for the Germans not continuing to torture themselves but I don’t want them getting too proud either.
Pretty ballsy coming from the wishy-washy CDU.
AfD is polling at +18%
So right on cue, here comes the CDU to try to suck away some of that support. Germany’s political system is as much of a joke as ours.

It’s a disaster for the thieves and lunatics currently running the German government.
😮
Those are the folks that all the right-thinking parties said they would never approach to form a coalition. Reading between the lines of the laughably biased wikipedia article about them, they sound like a bunch of Trumpers and which of course justifies the current administration to spy on them.
“When can Germans be proud to be German again?”
I was at a festival in Dinkelsbuhl in the Tauber Valley in 1977. Suddenly, two Luftwaffe jets flew over very low and wiggled their Iron Crossed wings. The crowd in the streets roared their approval. I guess all those old Nazis have passed away by now.
We must root out terrorism no matter where it leads us
Hundreds of people protested in Stockholm on Sunday against new anti-terror legislation that was passed to address Turkey’s opposition to Sweden joining NATO.
The demonstration was organised by groups close to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), outlawed by Turkey, which this week warned against “terrorists” being allowed to demonstrate in Sweden.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has so far blocked Sweden’s NATO membership, accusing Stockholm of being a haven for the Kurdish activists.
To address his concerns, Sweden passed a new law that criminalises “participation in a terrorist organisation”.
“They are after the Kurds in Sweden,” Tomas Pettersson, spokesperson for the Alliance Against NATO, told AFP at the protest, titled “No to NATO, No Erdogan Laws in Sweden.”
One man’s freedom fighter is another man’s stumbling block on the trail to a new world order.
Can’t wait for the Supreme Court to take up a case of a pot user suing the ATF. The ATF doesn’t even have a right to exist.
People should just say…you made the ruling, now see if you can enforce it.
As always, it comes down to that elusive chimera called standing. Do the courts really want to upset the apple cart that much by (effectively) nullifying federal drug law? Imagine the headlines on both sides “Unelected Federal Judges Allow Marihuana Addicts to Own Guns.”
That ship sailed after Marbury V Madison. They assumed the role, now do the job.
The whole concept of “standing” needs to be taken behind the woodshed and given a sound thrashing. Every citizen should be able to sue the Federal gov’t at any point. Any state resident should be able to sue that state. Anyone effected by any gov’t law should be able to sue, whether the gov’t things so or not. They do not get to decide who can sue them. And if someone things that it will shut the court system down do to overwhelming it, I say, they maybe they are doing to much that is unconstitutional.
This is why I advocate no one just pay the fine for a moving violation and everyone show up in court. Eventually a judge will get pissed enough that maybe we have too many laws.
You seriously want an even more litigious society? I think that’s one of those be careful what you wish for kind of things.
Hunter Biden’s Art Gallery Targeted by Hackers
LOL
How much are people paying for those? I mean I might pay a hundred bucks at a flea market for one because I like the colors but that’s about it.
No one is buying the art for the sake of the art. It’s just laundering bribes.
^^^THIS^^^
I’ve seen several of his pieces over the years. The man has some talent.
But people are paying hundreds of thousands for these pieces to bribe the Biden family.
If his last name wasn’t Biden, he’d just be another drug addled, hipster artist scraping by from one sale to another.
You know who else did crappy art?
Pollock.
Crappy? No, was more bukkake than anything.
Hey! I like Pollock!
Marcel Duchamp?
Marcel Duchamp?
This kraut?
Crappie art anyone?
Maybe we can pay our reparations with free remedial math classes.
So what you’re saying is you want to re-institute slavery.
The FBI chick in that twat photo should be holding a can of Bud Light.
Prepare for ramming speed.
Today a Chinese warship nearly rammed a U.S. destroyer in the Taiwan Strait – PRC allegedly disrupts Canada-U.S. exercises in the South China Sea
#2 China shows what it thinks about US forces in and over the Taiwan street.
Given the US Navy’s recent spate of collisions, I can’t assume this was a provocation by the Chinese.
Could have been some uber woke ensign on the bridge texting out the morning Pride Moment and not paying attention to their surroundings.

“Between points, Kato sent a ball cross-court towards the ball girl, hitting her shoulder and leaving her visibly distressed.”
So a quick flick of the ball to the ball girl and she gets hit by my guess…a slow moving tennis ball, starts crying and the officials think best course of action is to disqualify the pair? DaFuq?
Uffda. Our high school tennis team would start almost every practice off with “Battle Ball”. The upperclassmen would be on one side and the underclassmen on the other side. Then you got three hits and three bounces to set up an overhead.
Hazing at its best.
The all time best moment was when us underclassman finally got a chance to hit an overhead back and two guys went for it. The result was one of them getting a racquet squarely across the nose. Big time break and a big cut. Blood everywhere. As us underclassmen went to give first aid, the upperclassmen were yelling for the victim to write his name in blood on the court. As a lesson to others.
That ball girl who got bonked by a ball? She would have died in Battle Ball.
The story I read stated that if the ball hits anyone (other than another player) – official, someone in the stands, etc – it’s an automatic DQ. I assume that’s specific to that tournament?
Maybe. What a silly rule especially when it was so inadvertently done. I can see if they purposely served straight at the ball kids or crowd..
Apparently the judge gave them a warning, and the opponents appealed to get them DQ’ed. If true, that’s incredibly scummy. I’m only 34, but when I played tennis in high school, good faith between opponents was absolutely necessary because we had to judge our own matches. I understand that’s not feasible for pro matches, but you still expect to see sportsmanship.
Man, that’s shitty if true.
If his last name wasn’t Biden, he’d just be another drug addled, hipster artist scraping by from one sale to another.
He’d be “working” in spray paint, on subway cars.
A lot of that has more artistic talent than he has, assuming he is the one actually doing the work.
Hunter, or whomever, can paint pretty things, but there is zero artistic vision there.
You know who else did crappy art?
That asshole Picasso?
Nobody ever called Pablo Picasso an asshole.
Not like you.
Just for fun, I checked back on a couple of Bat auctions I linked the other day.
The MGB GT sold for something like thirteen grand; probably not a completely absurd price, assuming there are no massive problems lurking.
The 427 4-speed Corvette was bid to thirty grand and did not sell. The guy probably had a fifty grand reserve on it, or something similar. I think he might have missed the boat on the bubble.
Also- how can anybody bid those kind of prices based on some photos on the internet, without actually inspecting the car in person?
I think the bubble just shifted. I’ve seen ’90s Japanese classics bring huge money.
Case in point.
I have never looked at the mediation process for BaT. You would think that if it were a widespread problem we would have read about it.
I have a feeling that they do a pretty good job of describing and photographing. Plus, I would bet that there is a clause in the contracts stating either it is contingent on inspection/3-days or whatever, or it is a no return situation, bid accordingly.
Holy Crap. That seems way too high.
Those late Supras bring insane money, for reasons not obvious to me. Something to do with some movie?
I had a ~84 Supra for a while. I think it was supposed to be Toyota’s answer to the BMW 6 series. It drove like a truck. I was not that impressed.
Tuners love that 6. I’ve seen insane builds with 1000+ HP.
Fast & Furious, maybe.

Rocket.
You would think that if it were a widespread problem we would have read about it.
I have seen a few “I got scammed on BaT” videos. To be honest, I pretty much classify any of those “collector car” sob stories under the heading of Fools and Their Money. Uncle Tony had a video of a Mustang his Kiwi pal has in his shop which was pretty on the outside, but what we used to refer to as a bondo sculpture. Bondo slathered over rust.

2JZ, I think. That Tony Angelo guy has a couple of videos up about putting one (and a manual trans) in a Mercedes 500 SL. Of course if it’s on youtube it has to have 1000 horsepower or it’s junk.
