The New York-born son of a noted abstract expressionist painter, the young De Niro was a serious student of the Method, studying at the Stella Adler Conservatory and Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio.
New York artsy type since the cradle. No wonder he was such an unconvincing Al Capone (who was also from New York).

To figure out which is better, we need one more piece of information—the interest rate. The interest rate tells you how much it costs to borrow, or how much money you could earn by lending.
What happens if the company goes belly up? If the company gets acquired, do you still have a job? Do you have to pay the money back if you leave? Is you leave and you have to pay the money back, is the handling different if you quit, are fired with cause, or laid off?
There’s a lot more information required. There’s probably more than I mentioned there.

According to New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella, Strafford County Sheriff Mark Brave used taxpayer money to subsidize his love life and lied about it to a grand jury.
“The decision to charge an elected constitutional officer was not made lightly,” Formella said. “However, no person is above the law, and the evidence in this case required action. It is my hope that the public will be reassured that there will be equal justice under the law for every person in this state – including public officials.”
Brave denied any wrongdoing Thursday morning when he turned himself in to state police. He has blamed his downfall on county politics, not his multiple affairs.
“I will go in civilian clothing, no weapons, and bring my $40 for the bail commissioner,” Brave told Foster’s Daily Democrat prior to his arrest. “I expect I will be photographed and fingerprinted. What I want is to get ahead of this situation and to get a trial date.

I got some “Low Odor” resin. We’ll see if it does smell less. (Still wearing the respirator, because I’m not stupid) I’ve started printing the torso and left arm of a MadCat. It should finish by 5am. Will still have to print the right arm and legs. (The torso takes up a stupid amount of the print plate, so I only had room for one arm.)
As an upside, this resin is translucent, so… maybe it’ll be easier to see the pins while I’m setting up assembly. I’m also testing how well it prints a larger solid piece. (if I don’t find out for sure, I’ll always fear the weight)
MikeS
on August 18, 2023 at 5:39 pm
What happens to a bad print in a resin set up? In a filament set up you end up with a great big pile of plastic spaghetti. I’m trying to picture what could go wrong and what it would look like in a setup like yours but I don’t know much about them.

MikeS
on August 18, 2023 at 5:55 pm
There’s so many ways to reply to that. But alas, I must go replace front pads and rotors on my truck.
On my test print, there was a base topper that wasn’t properly supported, so it fell off and rested on the bottom of the vat. there, it blocked any additional resin from being reposited, and I was left with a thin disk of resin stuck to the bottom of the vat. (It came off relatively easily). Not as bad as spagetti plastic, but I’m sure there are other failure modes I haven’t seen yet.
Not gonna link it, but just read a fascinating Jacobin piece about inflation. Talking about oil and gas price inflation, including dumping strategic reserve inventory on the market without ever once mentioning Comrade Joe’s deliberate harpooning of the petroleum industry is impressive.
That (politically) strategic oil reserve was so effective we should do it with everything. The government should accumulate and judiciously distribute food supplies, commodity metals, nylon stockings, you name it, in order o maintain perfect copuntercyclical equilibrium in the markets.
It’ll work this time.

What happens to a bad print in a resin set up? In a filament set up you end up with a great big pile of plastic spaghetti. I’m trying to picture what could go wrong and what it would look like in a setup like yours but I don’t know much about them.
It’s resin, so a pool of sticky smelly goo?
There’s so many ways to reply to that. But alas, I must go replace front pads and rotors on my truck.
Like at the Primitive Primate Exhibit?
I think it depends on how it failed.

I predict crickets from them about the taxes it will require to refill it at higher prices and the resulting price spikes.
Huh, I picked up a window AC unit at Best Buy today as kind of an impulse buy and it has the new flammable refrigerant, propane I think. I…don’t like that.
Don’t set it on fire. And maybe don’t shoot it.

I am on! Well, OK, that doesn’t do much…
Time to hop on and start spouting bad puns?
I predict crickets from them about the taxes it will require to refill it at higher prices and the resulting price spikes.
that makes the economy stronger. And besides, only rich people will pay.
