I’ve been enjoying Super Mario Wonder. The online play is perfect for me. I can see what other people are doing on the level, you can save each other from death, it unlocks nothing (that I’m aware of yet), and isn’t required.

    • SDF-7

Sounds very much like something I would never want to do — so glad it isn’t required and hopefully I would never accidentally turn it on.

I assume (because I can’t be arsed to go read the article) it requires some Nintendo Game Pass or some other crap… so that should prevent me from worrying about it.

      • Nephilium

It does not. It just needs an online connection. The only interaction between the other players is seeing the shadows of them running around, having a limited amount of emotes, and rescuing someone who died. I’m just happy to have a 2d Mario game again.

    • rhywun

I said good-bye to Nintendo the last time they bricked all the games I had bought for the previous generation or two. Not going through that again.

    4. Firouzja (2777, 1.5 pts) v Zhalmakhanov (2447) — Because of only 7 players on 2, Firouzja gets bumped up a group. Zhalmakhanov is an IM playing the tournament of his life. Well, two matches so far. Of the 114 players, something about 105 of them are GMs. An IM shouldnt be in the top group. I am sure Firouzja will put an end to his run.

#Niemann match is still going on, but it looks like Hans should win. He has a Queen and 2 pawns vs 2 rooks. They are on move 73. Hans has 12:04 left on his clock, Vokhidov has under 7 minutes and decreasing.

And Niemann’s opponent resigned on move 101.

Back in 2014 when I bought my Fiesta ST I gave them my email. Once the car was delivered I never heard from them again.. Until now. Every couple weeks I get an email pushing their EVs. The emails have a pleading tone to them. I think Ford is getting desperate.

    STOP LYING

In a similar survey conducted by CBS News/YouGov, 66 percent of Americans believed that the U.S. should continue sending aid and supplies to Ukraine.

You asked a few hundred people a question specifically designed to get an answer you want. That has nothing to do with what the actual population of America wants.

    • rhywun

      Straight-up propaganda piece. JFC.

  10. The Late P Brooks

Overall, while there have been many misconceptions about U.S. aid to Ukraine, the process is relatively straightforward. American assistance to this Eastern European state is carefully vetted. Government officials have carefully ensured that funds are not being misappropriated, mismanaged, or devoured by corrupt Ukrainian officials. Funding to Ukraine has not been taken from other U.S. departments, and aid to Ukraine has not resulted in the dismantling of any American programs at home.

Finally, the provision of defense assistance to Ukraine has actually helped America rebuild its stockpiles and enhance its domestic defense production capacity. In other words, assisting Ukraine is a win-win proposition.

Not only is the U.S. helping Ukraine defend itself from Russia’s unprovoked invasion, but it is also helping improve American defense capabilities. This will only make the U.S. safer. Every American should want that.

Daddy Warbucks needs our help. Fuck off you mendacious pile of shit.

    • rhywun

We would be stupid to not throw all our money down that rathole.

  11. The Late P Brooks

Second, the U.S. assistance does not at all come at the expense of other current U.S. programs. Aid for Ukraine, like all other budgetary items, has already been appropriated. This means that a set financial amount of aid was predetermined and agreed to by the executive branch and Congress. Appropriations can always be amended, but they cannot occur without statutory authority. For example, in fiscal 2022, Congress approved $40 billion in aid to Ukraine. The total U.S. defense budget for fiscal year 2022 was $715 billion. In fiscal 2023, Congress approved $46 billion in aid to Ukraine. The total defense budget for fiscal year 2023 was $816.7 billion.

Do the math, and only 6 percent of the defense budget in fiscal 2022 and 5.6 percent in fiscal 2023 was spent on Ukraine. This money was not taken from current programs, nor did it come from cuts elsewhere.

Don’t worry, it was plucked from thin air. What are you complaining about?

I mean, it’s essentially free money that nobody was really using.

  12. The Other Kevin

Nice 2A article. It never said a single thing about sports or hunting, but the left pretends it does so they can win arguments.

    • Gustave Lytton

And the fucking Fudds can delude themselves that they will be able to continue hunting and sport shooting.

    • Fourscore

A lot of the military folks from years back came with some shooting experiences and only had to learn how to channel that to a military situation.

I’m ok with the FU of Arlington National Cemetery that was directly aimed at Lee.

He got off better than the Jan 6 bunch.

      • Gustave Lytton

The US lost their case before SCOTUS, so yes a perfect case of FU.

I’d like to think that Lee, not happy with the loss of his home, would be content now with what it has become.

      • R.J.

You know that will end up a giant purple and pink tranny penis with the words “Unity and Tolerance” spurting out the top.

      • Dr. Fronkensteen

We need a new Renaissance in art. Thomas Kincade was a mediocre artist but did incredibly well for himself as people were starving for even that level of art in their homes.

      • Mojeaux

I’ll admit it. I like his shit. Do I understand it’s kitsch? Yes, I do. Do I also understand that what passes for “modern” art is soulless, meaningless, and without skill? Yes. I would much rather Kinkade in my home than Newman. (There’s a canvas in the art gallery here that is entirely black paint. WTF.)

(The paintings on my wall are competent paintings by my husband’s grandfather.) I mean, what I like is little better than black velvet matadors.

      • The Last American Hero

Robert Deyber died, so the renaissance will have to be delayed.

      • R.J.

We have Derek Yaniger, George Perrou and Michelle Bickford originals on the walls. I love it. Art is out there. It just seems hard to find.

      • Fourscore

I thought I might have a Kincaid hanging but I just looked and it’s a Kouba. Shows how much attention I pay to art.

      • Zwak says the real is not governable, but self-governing.

Oh, those Newman’s are beautiful, I would love to have on in my house.

And I massively disagree with you about the skill it takes for that. So talented.

When Jimmy Carter shuffles off this mortal coil sometime soon, it will be interesting to hear the eulogies that gaslight the fact he restored the citizenship of traitor and chief slave master Jeff Davis. Cultural suicide. It’s what’s for dinner.

  18. The Late P Brooks

At the same time, many American citizens identified their allegiance to their state rather than the country, preferring to say I am a Virginian over I am an American. Much resistance to the adopting the Constitution came from a fear that a centralized national government would overpower the state and oppress the people in the state as a result.

    Paranoiac poppycock.

Even before I bought the Master Air Brush, I had my eye on an Iwata at a local hobby store. But there was this voice going “There’s no way it’s worth three times the price of the other one.”

Well, today I bought the Iwata. Hooked it up to the same compressor I’ve been using for the Master. Even with test puffs, it felt smoother. There were a few design features I didn’t know I wanted, but when I started putting paint through the Iwata, I really fell in love. It was by far the better airbrush, even though it was still their entry level model.

I don’t know what they coated it in, but the paint residue comes off without a fight. It laid down the paint in an even pattern with great coverage.

I can see where they got their reputation.

    • Sensei

      They still made in Japan?

It’s exactly the thing you’d expect them to make and make well.

In my model making days I had a clone and it also was nowhere near as nice.

      • UnCivilServant

Sadly, this one was “Assembled in China” so… I have no clue where the parts were made. Because that verbiage is used when the parts came from somewhere else. Otherwise it’s just Made in China.

      • Sensei

Interesting. A quick web search shows some Japanese imports as well as fakes.

I’d assume yours isn’t fake unless they got cute by mixing OEM and clone parts.

It’s possible for lower end export products they make them outside Japan. Low end stuff for domestic use is still frequently Japanese made. However, they pay for it in higher prices. It’s both cultural and goverment encouraged protectionist policy.

      • UnCivilServant

        I figure you’re right.

It runs beautifully, so Unless something goes wrong, I’m happy.
