Lily doesn’t play with sitcks. She keeps sticks.
So…
I don’t think we’ve seen this many favorable omens at once before. This is really one of the best horoscopes I’ve seen that I wasn’t particularly looking/planning for. Starting off on a Full moon is generally lucky, but obviously that’s not going to stick around. For this week though, it also aligns with Jupiter so that’s a particularly auspicious sign. Where it gets kind of bananas is Wednesday and Thursday. Over that period we’ve got literally every single planet lining up in some sort of arrangement. Let me double check that. Yep, all seven planets are participating. That alone will get all the celestial emanations a-resonatin’ but in this particular case, the vibratory nodes are all on “good” planets, so even though Mars and Saturn are involved, they’re tacked onto the ends of the arrangements. So instead of getting violence, you get strength or force. Instead of death or failure, you get harvests or ending troubles. There was a time when an arrangement of this complexity would lead me to spend a few hours untangling everything here and teasing out the meanings, but I ain’t got time for that, nobody cares, and it doesn’t apply to you guys anyway. So I’ll take the quicker route and see which signs are involved.
As you’d expect, Pisces is involved, and with both Saturn and Mercury conjoining there, you should not just expect not just change/instability but destruction/ending. With the amount of good vibes, this is like the Berlin Wall coming down, the overthrow of a tyrant, that sort of thing. The moon being in Libra is supporting this idea, as that’s the astrological equivalent of ringing a gong or dropping a rock into a still pond. Aquarius is where the matched/complete set of Mars and Venus are, so this part indicates abundance/plenty and those sorts of good things.
Leftover from last week
Pisces: Strength reversed – Despotism, abuse if power, weakness, discord, sometimes even disgrace.
Aries: The Star reversed – Arrogance, haughtiness, impotence.
Taurus: 10 of Coins – Gain, riches, family matters, archives, extraction, the abode of a family.
Gemini: 10 of Swords reversed – Advantage, profit, success, favor, but none of these are permanent; also power and authority.
Cancer: King of Swords – Judgment and all its connections-power, command, authority, militant intelligence, law, offices of the crown, and so forth.
Leo: The High Priestess – Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed; silence, tenacity; mystery, wisdom, science.
Virgo: 4 of Coins – The surety of possessions, cleaving to that which one has, gift, legacy, inheritance.
Libra: 10 of Wands – Oppression. Also fortune, gain, any kind of success — and then the ruination of these things.
Scorpio: 9 of Coins – Prudence, safety, success, accomplishment, certitude, discernment.
Sagittarius: 2 of Wands – Riches, fortune, magnificence, physical suffering, disease, chagrin, sadness, mortification.
Capricorn: 8 of Cups – Joy, mildness, timidity, honor, modesty, the decline of a matter, or that a matter which has been thought to be important is really of slight consequence.
Aquarius: Ace of Cups reversed – House of the false heart, mutation, instability, revolution.
Same place, different dog.
Well, I mean I’m getting peel-and-stick countertop covering this week to brighten up my kitchen a little. Also, those rubber flanges that cover the gap between the stove and countertop. So there’s that.
Rubber! Good idea. Mine are metal and noisy. Can’t remember where I got them.
Or silicone. Don’t remember which.
Sagittarius: 2 of Wands – Riches, fortune, magnificence, physical suffering, disease, chagrin, sadness, mortification.
Ghetto lottery time?
That’s the 40 of Coins
Lucky. Costs me fitty cent.
“Sagittarius: 2 of Wands – Riches, fortune, magnificence, “
Woo hoo!
“…physical suffering, disease, chagrin, sadness, mortification.”
Doh!
I sure hope you’re right, we could use a good week around here.
Nice dog videos.
Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed; silence, tenacity; mystery, wisdom, science.
Not sufficiently shitty.
I want your horrorscope
Wow. Talk about nebulous and mixed messages.
The future as yet unrevealed? What in hell does that mean?
“Predictions are hard to make, especially about the future.” – Yogi Berra
“Cancer: King of Swords – Judgment and all its connections-power, command, authority, militant intelligence, law, offices of the crown, and so forth”
I have no idea on what do do with that.

“I have no idea what to do with that.”
Noooow you are catching on.
XY rode his bike to work yesterday at 230p. He didn’t get home until 930a. There was a novovirus scare at his store and he and his manager spent all night deep cleaning. He’s schedule to work again at 330p today. That kid makes bank, but he earns it. This will be his life if he actually moves into general manager status.
It’s nice to see that your kids have found niches.
I blame the parents. 😜
Yes. It keeps me from worrying too much about false starts* and whatnot.
*I had a lot of those. Still do.
You beat yourself up a lot.
Yeah, that’s our job.
For $20.
🤨
I was trying to be serious for a change.
Thank you, ToG. It’s nothing my husband hasn’t said a million times. I didn’t realize I was doing it here, too.
He’s got a job. This is good.
LOL he got to work today and there’s a huge busload of kids in the parking lot.
Soup’s on

YESSSSSSS
Holy shit it might be one of the most delicious things I have ever made
Looking at it I was thinking about the same thing.
Mrs. Suthenboy made some toss in this and that chicken soup yesterday. I should have had her buy lottery tickets. That turned out to be the most amazingly delicious soup…plain ol’ chicken soup pulled off like a gourmet chef.
I think I will have some now.
Performative grieving: https://kval.com/news/local/north-bend-high-school-closed-on-friday-due-to-fatal-accident
Shut down the entire HS for a day, that more than likely most weren’t close to the dead kid. Supposedly to keep the scene clear, except the HS and accident intersection is right next to a shopping mall that remained open. And the theater production is rescheduled to one day later. Not to worry, counselors will be on site Monday to help.
A lot of HS age angst and drama is induced by emotionally unbalanced adults who encourage and inflame such.
I have zero evidence for this but my tingly sense is whispering to me that they are creating emotional drama to increase their chances of diddling.
If it was just diddlers, I think it would be both less and easier to fix. A lot seems to be by true believers who think they are doing good.
Another HS I drove by yesterday in a completely different part of the state had bs affirmation signs all along the property. Meaningless triviality. “One day at a time” “you are enough” and some others. If I had to walk that gauntlet everyday, I’d probably start thinking of ways to off myself. I’m not sure what’s worse. This idea that kids are all borderline suicidal. Or that stupid signs would do anything helpful.
I have my fingers crossed that (most) HS students are seeing through all this bullshit. That boys are girls, the nuclear family must be eliminated, and the white ones among them are the root of all evil.
Becuase I mean, you kind of have to.
Arrogance, haughtiness, impotence.
This is a good week???
Such metrics are relative and subjective.
I mentioned I think my neighbor may be being scammed. I think this might be the one he’s on…he keeps talking about some investment paying off soon, and how it involves crypto and exchanges. Oy vey.

The only thing more difficult than getting a grifter to admit to their schemes is to get their marks to admit they have been had.
It is sad.
I just put a whole chicken on the grill. With potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic in the water basin. ETA 7:00, I think.
Whole chickens are difficult to get done evenly.
Did you flatten it?
He flattened your mother.
No. I cook it backside up first on a rack full of water and veggies. Then flip it after an hour. I then let it go another two hours, my grill is very low power.
Per Bro, using my penis as a meat tenderizer to flatten chicken is very tiring at my age.

Appropriate.
The only dick/chicken joke I know: Visiting my brother in Arkansas once his neighbor came over. Neighbor had a commercial chicken house.
Dude also only had one arm. I asked him (quite the joker) how he lost his arm. Dead pan he answered with two words – “Jealous rooster”.
Hahahaha! I am keeping that one!
When speaking about a woman with a questionable reputation:
“She’s seen more cocks than a henhouse.”
Spatchcock FTW.
Mrs. Dean makes dry-brined spatchcocked chicken every few weeks. Sometime pir-piri, sometimes barbecue, sometimes a mix. It is the best chicken I’ve ever had, every piece. Not even close.
Smoking chicken halves here. Slice of pizza first.
I made champagne chicken, risotto, and sticky toffee pudding for my girlfriend’s birthday meal.
“I ain’t got time for that, nobody cares, and it doesn’t apply to you guys anyway”
I want my money back.
“With the amount of good vibes, this is like the Berlin Wall coming down, the overthrow of a tyrant, that sort of thing.”
The end of Biden’s reign? Tell me more.
A week or two ago, a Glib posted a question on X about who was the best fictional female villain.
I put Nurse Rached from Cuckoo’s Nest, but here are a couple more:
Gene Tierney in “Leave Her to Heaven”
Lansbury as the maid in “Gaslight”
Miss Danvers in Rebecca.
Angela Lansbury in The Manchurian Candidate.
She’s also the antagonist as Glenn Ford’s fiancée in a movie called Dear Heart that’s one of those finely-crafted grown-up dramas that Hollywood doesn’t make so much any more.
grown-up dramas
Hear, hear.
They know how limited the audience is for that.
Hayek, I’m sorry for getting pissy at you Friday night. It was uncalled for.
Oooh….cat fight!
What did I miss ?
Nothing, really. We were simultaneously trying to answer a male glib question about knitting versus needlepoint.
I referenced that knitting has no substrate; a knitter makes cloth out of yarn. Then I compared that to wool needlepoint and also to cross stitch and crewel, all of which have a cloth substrate on which to stitch.
I then oversimplified cross stitch as something that could be done by a robot since colors and stitches are in the pattern/program. I hadn’t gotten around to saying that in reality all stitchers put their own personalities onto it. Mojo took offense and took me to task for describing what at its best as art as if robots could do it.
So yeah I’m a bull in a china shop and screwed up.
It’s all good.

That’s my kind of villain.

One of you lot mentioned that movie-Ratched was depicted more evilly than book-Ratched.
Therefore I will nominate the same actress for Kai Winn from “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”. Perfect evil.
Good one.
Dolores Umbridge (and I mean book version of course, but they did OK on the movie version).
Alternate answer just to be that guy is Jenny from Forrest Gump.
She was truly the banality of evil.
Yes, a really fantastic villain in the books. Imelda Staunton, who played her in the movie, was such good casting.
Umbridge is a DAMN good answer. I snuck out the house when I was (a small) 13 when Harry was 13. (It worked for the first three books then the books got longer.) I bought the 3rd book at midnight at Books a Million. My parents didn’t know. I am proud of that. NO ONE can NOT be proud of that lil rascal.
A great villain, a True Believer in Bureaucracy.
Favorite semi-ficitonal: Katherine Hepburn as Eleanor in Lion in Winter, one of my faves.
Xenia? If I’m gonna be victimized…I’ll let her teach me her villainy in various manners…
Wicked Witch in Oz
Good one. No need for intellectual debate.
Even kids knew she was bad news.
Ilsa?
Jacki Weaver in Animal Kingdom.
Mary Tyler Moore in Ordinary People.
Seriously, no one is going to mention Raquel Welch in Myra Breckenridge?
And were Bond villainesses explicitly excluded? If not, Xenia Onatopp anyone?
Rhoda Penmark
“That trough feed Penmark bitch, she don’t get enough of what she need.
I’d give it too her.” -Earl(?) the gardner
Sigh. LeRoy the groundskeeper.
Norman Bates
*Ba-Doom*
Nice. I legit like.
Glenn Close as the bunny boiler?
Glenn Close, as the Marquise de Merteuil.
Veda Pierce
Tracy Flick.
My favorite female villains/femme fatales are in noirs or neo-noirs:
Matty Walker (Kathleen Turner) in Body Heat
Vera (Ann Savage) in Detour
Annie Starr(Peggy Cummins) in Gun Crazy
Catherine Trammel(Sharon Stone) – Basic Instinct
Female villain: Scarlett O’Hara.
Ginger?
Doe she count as a villain? She was kinda just a cunt.
I remember Scarlett as kind of a blend of Blanche DuBois (also played by Leigh) and Dagny Taggart.
I remember Blanche as a cunt. Marlon Brando’s Stanley certainly took it too far, but damn. I hate that whiny bitch. Antebellum ‘Irish Lace’ v ‘Irish Shanty.’ I also find it amusing Brando that is wildly considered to be one of the sexiest depictions of…anyone for, many. I don’t find that a humdinger.
Note: I am straight. I wouldn’t go Gay for Pay unless it were a LOT (well. more than $20). Gay for Say? Hell, yes. I’d slurp on a lotta everythin’ if meant I got to one-on-one hang out. I’d do whatever Ben Franklin wanted if I could sit and chill for a bit. (I wonder what he was into. I think pretty vanilla, but that’s exactly what he’d WANT me to think. I’ll play along. Just to find out more…
(Pssst. tell me…)
Kathy Bates in “Misery” ?
The ankle breaking thing was too much for me. But Ive broken a lot of bones- it hit home.
Lady deWinter. Your choice for the actress but I really liked Lana Turner with Rebecca de Mornay close behind.
I’d like to be right behind Rebecca de Mornay.
I’ve broken just about everything. But nothing below the shin. Me no-wanty.
I’ve also never sprained anything. I’ll take those little victories. (They matter!)
Rogue One is on. First time.
Official: This is fucking DOPE. I officially say there are now four Star Wars movies. (Just like there are only three Indy flicks.) I’m only halfway through, but… there isn’t more like this?.. The FanFic is immense. Um. It’s *there.* Fucking Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (DIE!) is a large part, but def not all. This flick is Fully Woke (looking) so far.
I don’t wonder why, really. Make ’em for China (and Korea, etc) and more than enough cash will roll in. Sigh. I’m with my friend John. He’s from Out Back. We’ll yell at clouds together.
If you can pirate Andor, do it.
Female villian? Mary fucking Poppins.
I think I’m gonna go with Norman Bates as my favorite. (It deserves an * for its ‘alteration’ of reality?)
“Remember, Jerry. It’s not a lie if YOU believe it.”
(I love that as a conviction-builder. I wouldn’t say I LIE. I’m careful with how much truth I reveal. It’s interesting livin’ up here. It’s always crowded. (It’s why nobody comes here.))
I still gotta hand it to miss Danversin Rebecca
“Why don’t you? It would be so easy.”
Had to look that up. Hitchcock! Read the wiki… uh. DAMN. They used to allow so much more, and the audience was required to pay attention, DAMMIT!
That’s fucking twisted. Such odd feelings… I’m up like a duck.

I work 6-2:30, so I go to bed early and get up early.

Morning
*waves*
How’s things?
Which things?
Stop’ being weird.
I managed to reopen the wound on my toe by snagging it on the cuff of my other pant leg.
I also finished painting One model of the eighteen I’d set out to do this weekend. To be fair, it was the biggest of the lot.
So I guess I’m doing so-so.
Have you tried socks, hippie?
😉
I was wearing socks.
Good morning, Sean, U, Ted’S., Stinky, and (if you’re still awake) TO’G!
Getting my annual check-up this morning at 8:15. Happily, the doctor’s office is right around the corner – you can see the door, in the back of their building, from Tranquility Base. I will, however, drive there so I don’t risk increasing my blood pressure right before they slap on the cuff.
Morning to all the above plus GT and the lurkers,
Do lurkers come out this early in the morning? Or is it the paid employees from you know where?
How often do you get an annual check up, GT?
Soak that toe, UCS, keep it bandaged up. Toe nails are sort of superfluous to modern man/woman but still…
It’s bandaged up, but I can’t soak it in the office.
Well, I could probably figure something out, but it’d raise eyebrows and get me talked to.
“Toronto man gets prison for tricking men into anonymous sex through hole in sheet”

Holes in random objects at strangers’ houses are like a box of chocolates, you never know etc.
“tricked” 🙄
Probably the same guy the used to get me drunk.
Yeah the ‘tricked’ part isn’t that they were seeking a glory-hole, it was that the person giving was claiming to be a chick. Now the weird part?
Why would you trust a random hole in the wall?
Morning! Dunno how this week is going to go glibbing-wise. I have to be actively supervising a foreign national as he works here, and his work hours are 13:00- indefinite.
You got Pie a work visa?
Take him/her to the range, he/she may never have had the opportunity to enjoy a little Americana
Well, this is one way to make sure your ‘third’ party doesn’t get off the ground.
The comedy of it all, they will probably poll better than Libertarian candidates.
Seems like no labels would have no political orientation, which ever way the wind is blowing, pretty much the same as what we have now.
Mornin’ all
Morning.
Re: the guy setting himself on fire:
You have one side that explicitly states that their goal is the annihilation of Israel.
It takes a great deal of self-deceit to think that Israel is the aggressor here. The October 7 attacks took place during a time when the government of Israel was lightening up restrictions (I don’t remember the specifics).
This airman was wanting to get out of t he military and go into software development (or something like that). What company is going to hire him, now?
