The Incredible 2-Headed Transplant

This movie reminds me of when you watch one of those YouTube videos where a home chef tried to imitate a fabulous cake they saw on a cooking show, everything goes wrong, Grover looks like he’s going to mug you instead of smiling and holding a birthday candle and the kids are all crying.

My inspiration for tonight is that I miss the old CPRM/SugarFree artwork. This popped into my head as a perverse shadow of that excellent artwork. This isn’t even the famous two-headed movie with Ray Milland and Rosey Grier. No, this is a cake wreck filmed in six days. The director split town once the filming was done and left the actors with bounced checks. Oh yes, this is an epic level B movie.

So watch! Or don’t! Everything is voluntary! I would love to write more, but my schedule is terrible. Nights are spent prepping the house for sale and filling boxes, and days are very hardcore at work. I did at least squeeze this out in the wee hours of the morning to make sure you all have a great place to share clips and memes of the debate. Which I missed, so feel free to tell me about it in the comments!

“This isnโ€™t even the famous two-headed movie with Ray Milland and Rosey Grier. ”

I saw that about a month ago.

    • R.J.

That’s a good one. Not out on free streaming at the moment.

      • Common Tater

        It was on YouTube.

      • Ted S.

On the other hand, The Brain That Wouldn’t Die seems to be on Tubi.

      • R.J.

        Not just once…
The Brain that Wouldn’t Die is posted on Tubi SEVEN times. The original is listed three times, plus a rare “uncensored” version, plus the Elvira version and the MST3K version.

      • R.J.

Oh, and a total remake. Never seen it.

      • Evan from Evansville

The MST3K version is stellar, IIRC. Most, nearly all are.

      • Ted S.

Sorry, but I hate MST3K (and Rifftrax and the related stuff). I want to watch a movie and draw my own conclusions, not have a bunch of “funny” commentary that I can’t turn off.

  2. Common Tater

    What year was this?

    • R.J.

      1971.

  3. rhywun

OT… from an article in the local fishwrap urging “early voting”.

The last day to postmark a General Election ballot or to deliver one in person at a polling site or the BOE office is Nov. 5. The ballot must be received by the BOE no later than Nov. 14.

Nine days after what used to be known as “Election Day” for the Dems to fortify the election. Unfuckingreal.

    • Gustave Lytton

No, that’s the results won’t be official until at least nine days. They have until the results are announced (or revised, as the case may be) to fortify. Hey we found another box of ballots but we totally received them before 11/14.

      • trshmnstr

I have conflicting responses to this. On one hand, I’m still voting because it’s the only outlet left to tell them where to shove their BS. On the other hand, I think the “fortifying” is going to make 2020 look like it was run by boy scouts.

      • rhywun

        Agreed on both counts, Trshy.

If I didn’t want to punish the Dems so hard, I might just stay home.

      • R C Dean

        What rhywun said.

      • dbleagle

        I third that comment.

      • Gustave Lytton

I’m voting for trshy’s comment too..

    • Common Tater

Seriously, WTF? You people don’t even grow bananas.

      • rhywun

Even more crazy, I’m seeing a shitload of Kamala commercials.

(I cannot remember ever having seen a presidential election ad in this state in my life before.)

And the local election commercials are all Dems freaking out about abortion. I don’t think I have seen a GOP ad.

      • R.J.

Wretched. I didn’t see Commie-La ads Tuesday when I wrote this.

      • Common Tater

You still live in NY state? I’m guessing once you get out of NYC, Westchester, Rockland, LI, it’s way more Republican, but based on population density, it’s a solid blue state. So the shitload of Kamala commercials is probably to get down ballot votes โ€” just get people to pull the big blue lever for baby murder. Unless their internal polling is so bad they think they might lose NY?

      • Common Tater

“Wretched. I didnโ€™t see Commie-La ads Tuesday when I wrote this.”

When was the last time a Democrat won Texas?

      • R.J.

1976. And the democrats are trying very, very hard to persuade people to vote for them. Always threatening to turn the state blue. Houston and Austin are blue, as is San Antonio and Dallas is just about blue.

      • Common Tater

        “Houston”

        Bring back the Oilers!

      • DrOtto

Ann Richards was gov when I moved here. That was ’95. Last D gov since I’ve been here. Of course she had pushed through and passed emissions testing which was promptly ditched by the courts, and then Bush reinstated them, in order to burnish his green credentials going up against Gore in the presidential run. The key difference is Bush’s emissions were through private business vs. the state run shops Richards had set up. There’s good and bad to both and even though I get a lot of business from failed inspections, I personally wish they would go away.

      • DrOtto

Duh, you meant presidential election in TX. I’ve been drinking.

      • rhywun

You still live in NY state?

Yes, upstate. Not as hard left as downstate.

Unless their internal polling is so bad they think they might lose NY?

Only thing that makes sense to me.

      • Gustave Lytton

When I was a kid, every statewide office except Labor Commissioner was held by a Republican. Times have changed.

  4. ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Totally off topic, but on Tuesday I came down with a humdinger of a cold, which set of all of the symptoms of my MS. I am just now getting use of the left side of my body back, and now I can go to the bathroom by myself.

So, I got that going for myself, which is nice.

    • R.J.

Going to the bathroom by yourself is nice. I hope all the symptoms go away completely. Horrible that a cold triggered it.

    • Ted S.

and now I can go to the bathroom by myself

      Hawt.

You could always go with your wife.

    • The Other Kevin

Good to hear you’re back in action. And also that you probably didn’t take a covid test. I had a decent cold ago that didn’t want to go away, but thankfully my bathroom habits were unaffected.

    • Common Tater

Yikes! Glad you are feeling better.

    • R C Dean

Dang, Zwak. That is rough. Get better.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Thank you everyone. This has really kicked my ass. I had to pull myself along the floor and into the shower to take a piss the other night.

I would like to say I am too old for this shit, but it’s all down hill from here.

  5. UnCivilServant

I’m back in my hotel room where I have found a spot where I can leech off of the wifi signal that is “only in the lobby”.

It rained all day until it snowed. I got a few pictures of Elk, but the Bison picked spots where photography was impossible. We also spotted longhorn sheep Ewes and a coyote. Both had caused traffic jams because idiots parked wherever to take pictures. The verminous coyote even caught some smaller critter in the field to delight the tourists.

The sulphur dioxode smell covers too much of the park. I hate it.

    • Ted S.

Too bad the coyotes couldn’t catch some of the idiots who caused the traffic jams.

    • Sensei

Never did one of the sulfurous springs in the U.S., but did in Japan.

      https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5203.html

Iโ€™m not big on strong smells, but oddly didnโ€™t mind the strong sulfur smell.

    • UnCivilServant

Then longer I remain here, the worse my opinion grows.

Earlier today I merely wanted the national parks dissolved and the land sold off.

Now I want the national parks erased in nuclear hellfire.

      • The Artist Formerly Known as Lackadaisical

        You’re crazy.

  6. R.J.

I was so busy I forgot to mention that Pat Priest (Munsters) was in this film as the love interest.

    • Common Tater

I knew that name sounded familiar!

  7. R C Dean

Just saw a Dem ad targetting a Rep incumbent Representative that said he helped approved the judges who overturned Roe v Wade. I wasnโ€™t a ware Representatives had any role in approving judges.

This was followed by an ad against the same Representative busting him for being on the board of a โ€œChristian Nationalistโ€ organization – the Patriot Academy.

    Judge for yourself: https://www.patriotacademy.com/

And now an anti-Kari Lake (Rep Senate candidate) ad that is all about abortion.

The Dems are spending money like water.

    • R C Dean

And then a couple of Rep ads.

What a shitshow. Nobody, but nobody, is talking about the time bomb of government spending/debt that will destroy this country.

      • R.J.

What is this “Gold Standard” that you speak of? Such quaint concepts will never replace our mighty money printing machine!

      • The Other Kevin

They never mentioned the debt in the debate. Or censorship. But they managed to spend a lot of time on abortion and eating cats.

      • Common Tater

        “eating cats”

        That did seem rather odd.

      • Fourscore

The debt is the time bomb. The next prez will spend and spend, buying votes hither and yon and will be so surprised that inflation hasn’t gone away. I have to laugh

that Biden gets blamed for the inflation caused by the Trumpster. It takes a while for the new money to filter through the system. The next president is gonna have a

helluva problem trying to spend his/her way out of the mess.

I saw large eggs in the only store in Podunkville at $10 something a dozen, Cheapest small ones were $8 something. I looked at other prices and was astounded. We

quantity shop at Walmart and never look at prices, ’cause it won’t be cheaper somewhere else.

      • DrOtto

The biggest problem with (rightly) pinning the current run of inflation to Trump is that is an admission that gov’t spending causes inflation, which the Ds can’t/won’t do.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

The problem is, the D’s won the spending war. No way they can say it was bad, as it is their whole agenda.

      • trshmnstr

I saw large eggs in the only store in Podunkville at $10 something a dozen, Cheapest small ones were $8 something.

Woof! You can get the cheap industrial eggs for $4/dz at Walmart. You can get free range organic-ish eggs from the farm stands and the farmers markets for $3/dz.

      • Common Tater

“that Biden gets blamed for the inflation caused by the Trumpster”

A large part of inflation is green energy horseshit, which can’t be blamed on Trump.

Raise the price of diesel, you raise the price of everything else, eggs included.

      • rhywun

I saw large eggs in the only store in Podunkville at $10 something a dozen

        ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

$4 here. Which is still about double what it was a few years ago.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

“Raise the price of diesel, you raise the price of everything else, eggs included.”

Remember when Steven Chu hinted at that, and it destroyed parts of the economy in ’09? I sure do.

      • Q Continuum

I knew pre-Obama that we were never going to pay off the debt. At that time, candidates at least paid lip service to it, but post-Obama there’s literally no such thing as too much spending to both parties. Anyone who claims otherwise is considered a crank.

There’s literally no point in even talking about it now, we’re past the point where any meaningful progress toward paying it is politically unfeasible. So why worry?

      • Ted S.

$5.19 for a dozen jumbo last time I bought a dozen about two weeks back.

    • rhywun

โ€œChristian Nationalistโ€ is the new “Nazi” – they’re all doing it.

      • R.J.

It’s not the 1980s. That is going to backfire.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

It should backfire, as it is the same, tired playbook they have been using since Raygun.

      • R C Dean

Hey, that playbook has worked for 40 years running now. Why change it?

    • Gustave Lytton

And the AZ Republicans thought they could make abortion go away by helping the Dems repeal previous restrictions. Yeah right.

      • The Artist Formerly Known as Lackadaisical

        Republicans suck.

Just not as much as Dems.

Yes, this is definitely the movie version of that.

I think there are a bunch of Youtube videos with the expectations vs. reality theme

  14. robodruid

    Good Morning.
    Some advice/feedback requested.
We started to confront our town council last night.
    https://www.facebook.com/100064478688300/videos/1571958756725157

I start at 1:02 mark, wife starts at 3:53 mark.
Wife is told that this meeting is not a free speech zone. Threatened with arrest.
To me it seems an obvious lawsuit against the town, Mayor does not like information being posted.

    • Ted S.

      Contact the local TV stations.

    • Suthenboy

Not a free speech zone. I am not sure what to make of that.
I was under the impression that everywhere inside the borders of the US is a free speech zone.

I think Kamala sorted this out when she said social media allows people to speak without oversight or regulation and this must end. I overheard her belaboring that point earlier on the teevee.
Town council: They can regulate their public meetings for the sake of order. Outside of that I am not sure I follow exactly what is going on here.

      • robodruid

        Yea, context is everything.
The discussion is about town lawyer/contractor has a conflict of interest with the developer who is suing us. In an email, lawyer ridicules my wifes topless protests. This lawyer bills the town for helping the developer.
Mayor (in center) authorized payment and apparently did not want the rest of the council to know.

      • Suthenboy

Oh FFS. Y’all really need to move away from any municipality, HOA, etc.
        You are wrestling hogs.

My father lives within city limits, an HOA neighborhood on a golf course with an anal retentive neighbor. It doesnt get worse than that. He has had numerous complaints lodged against him…my two favorites: parks truck in driveway not washed and doesnt rake the leaves in his yard often enough.
        Who needs that shit?

    • Ownbestenemy

I did have to chuckle at the “double dog dare you”. In all seriousness…what Ted suggested…news if they’d listen.

    • Gender Traitor

I might be chatting with yโ€™all from the hospital today. I woke up with SpO2 of 85% a while ago. Thatโ€™sโ€ฆnot good.

    • Gender Traitor

Yikes! Any other symptoms? (As if that wasn’t bad enough!)

      • hayeksplosives

No. I was sick on Tuesday with sneezing, congestion, coughing, fever. But spent all day in bed, and by Wednesday the cold symptoms were gone but the asthma persisted.

Iโ€™ve been using my inhaler and nebulizer to get by, but have frequently dipped below 90 and now am getting lower.

I am at 92 now so Iโ€™m going back to bed.
