Seeing rumblings about an ABC whistleblower regarding debate. Supposedly a signed affidavit will be released today (or this weekend*) alleging things like questions were dished to the Harris campaign, promises of fact-checking, etc. I won’t hold my breath that it is true nor will it even matter. Though given how independents have broken towards Trump post debate, just might solidify talking points on just how fake her campaign really is.

*kinda why I think it’s just smoke with no fire…you got the goods, give it up. Of course, setting up legal protection could be why its taking a weekend to produce the allegations.

    • Nephilium

I saw at least one headline that one of the moderators was a member of the same sorority as Harris!

Come on people… that was all information that could have been researched (or honestly… guessed at) before the debate.

      • R C Dean

Were they at the same school at the same time? If not, being a member of the same sorority is pretty meaningless.

      • Nephilium

        R C Dean:

Exactly. To me that reads like they went to the same tailor, frequented the same bar, or were both were in a scouting organization. There’s plenty of real things to complain about, going after the superficial and petty things just looks dumb.

      • The Other Kevin

The head of ABC news is a very good friend of Kamala. There are pictures of them together. It would be shocking if she didn’t at least provide a list of topics they would cover.

      • The Last American Hero

The sorority thing is a canard, but Donna Brazille, who fed HRC questions in 2016, works for ABC.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Skull and Bones, RC. SKULL. And. BONES.

    • Banjos

The part that makes me question it is the second part of the claim that they would only fact check Trump. That feels too on the nose. There’s no need to promise that when they would have done it regardless.

      • Chipping Pioneer

I can see the Harris campaign demanding this explicitly: “Either you agree to do this, or she’s out.”

      • NoDakMat

*If it’s true* Having been notified that they would not fact check her freed her up to lie without having to think twice about it. It also set her up for her statement very early on when she “warned” us that we would hear a lot of lies from Trump. She knew Miur would go out of his way to call out Trump, and just let her spew the Good People on Both Sides lie and so many others.

      • Certified Public Asshat

Too on the nose, but then the “very fine people” hoax came up and went through with no check. I don’t know how much more on the nose you can get.

    • AlexinCT

Look, these people are desperate and evil. I do not need any definitive proof after watching the 3 on 1 rigged shitshow they called a debate to know they rigged it. I do not know if people caught on, but Trump was brutally attacked in questions while Harris got real softballs she then answered with what seems clearly prepared word salads, only to then stumble on the follow ups. That shows me she had the questions & answers, so she prepped for those. We saw her do her usual stupid when it was not prepped.

And do not forget that ABC is a Disney owned entity. Assume any and all evil from them for that reason.

The good thing is that independents saw through the shit show and realized while the cabal of crooks says Harris won, that she didn’t tell them anything to assure them she had any plans to change the disaster going on for the last 4 years.

The grimaces made her look weak in my opinion.

      • creech

Then it was up to Trump to throw the “left handed punches” and he largely failed to do so until his summation (what have you done about this for 3 1/2 years?)

      • Cunctator

—“the super AI they had would ask questions of one voter and from that deduce what all the people wanted and chose a candidate”—

Didn’t Klaus Schwab say not too long ago that in his world, AI would analyze the data and decide who should lead, so there would be no need for elections?

      • Cunctator

“But since the next step could be to go into prescriptive mode, which means you do not even have to have elections anymore because you can already predict what, predict, and afterwards you can say, ‘Why do we need the elections?’ Because we know what the result will be. Can you imagine such a world?”

Quote from Schwab at WEF. AP fact checked is as “shows Schwab discussing a hypothetical future scenario, not endorsing it”. What would be the point (from the WEF point of view) of discussing a hypothetical scenario other that floating a balloon and see the reaction.

Really leaning into that ’90s Democrat vibe and pandering like hell there, OMB…. Tips (being gifts and rather fuzzy when it comes to being “regular income”) are one thing — this is clearly just a subset of wages. And encouraging more people to work overtime? (And can’t help but wonder if this applies to public sector employees who game overtime to yoink up their salaries massively shortly before retirement so their pensions are astronomical… we’re going to not tax them either?)

ABC’s over-the-top bias, along with Kommie-la’s absurd facial expressions and endless personal attacks, actually backfired. This act might’ve worked in 2016 or 2020, but after four years of lawfare and an assassination attempt, I think there’s a fair number of normies who (rightly) view Trump as a put-upon underdog. And there’s nothing America loves more than an underdog.

    • AlexinCT

My suspicion is that Trump has been wisely told to avoid another rigged debate that this time would give Harris a chance to make up for her word salad mistakes that carried no substance or policy in this last debate that the leftosphere claimed won her the debate but that massively turned off independents looking for actual policy solutions.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

I’m surprised and mildly happy about the independent’s collective response to the debate and the fact that they seem to have actually picked up on what happened there, from the vacuousness of her answers to the unfairness of the moderators. I guess I underestimated the capacity of the American public to sniff out bullshit this time. Anyway, good on them.

Trump actually went up in polls of independents, handing of the economy, and a few other things. I think there are two reasons.
      a) People were looking for concrete policies from Kamala, and she didn’t deliver.
      b) Trump appeared angry and agitated, but he was angry and agitated about things we are all upset about: the economy, crime, immigration. Harris laughing about people eating cats, and the moderators lying about the increase in crime, said loud and clear they don’t care about issues people think are important.

    Consciences were shocked

Democrats hammered Trump on Thursday for inviting Loomer to join him at the 9/11 memorial service.

“It was shocking and irresponsible and offensive to the thousands of people who lost their lives on Sept. 11, including hundreds of brave first responders, members of the NYPD, FDNY and others who raced toward the danger in order to help people escape the danger and lost their lives as a result of it,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., told reporters.

“Donald Trump is a conspiracy theory-peddling racial arsonist and pathological liar,” he added. “And the fact that on Sept. 11, this sacred day, he would bring a 9/11 conspiracy theorist to participate in events during this solemn commemoration should shock the conscience of all decent Americans, and I believe that it does just that.”

He should be shot on sight.

Snopes: No Evidence Haitian Immigrants Are Eating Ducks, Geese or Pets in Springfield, Ohio

In reality, the video depicts a real incident involving the arrest of an American citizen (not a Haitian immigrant) in Canton (not Springfield), Ohio. The video concerns an Aug. 16, 2024, incident involving a woman named Alexis Telia Ferrell, who was accused of murdering and eating a cat.

There is no evidence that Ferrell is Haitian, and no reports filed at the time of her arrest mentioned anything about Haiti. According to court records viewed by Snopes, Ferrell has an extensive criminal record involving numerous arrests, but none of these charges involved any immigration-related violation.

Decent fact check I guess, but Ohio is still not doing well.

    • PieInTheSky

I thought you people hateda Canada gooses what if Haitians ate those?

      • Certified Public Asshat

I live in an area that has too many Canadian Geese and a sizeable Haitian population (not Ohio). Everyone should be doing their part and eating more of these asshole geese.

      • Nephilium

There would be much rejoicing, although they would then be violating federal laws (IIRC). I also would not be adverse to allowing any Haitians up in the Cleveland area go to down on our deer population.

Just for those not familiar with Ohio geography, Springfield is closer to Dayton, while Canton is next to Akron.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

The story isn’t really the pet eating, it’s the tens of thousands of Haitians being bussed into small cities out of the blue and all of this just means more and more people are going to look the story up and realize that’s happening.

      • R C Dean

The real story should be, why are we allowing anybody at all from Haiti into the US?

      • Tundra

Don’t be silly, RC, the Haitians will undoubtedly prove to be a joyful and vibrant contributions to the cities. Just like the Somalis in Minneapolis!

      • Ownbestenemy

Bingo. Taking in a 1/3 of your population, with probably NGO monies backing it, will displace many a resident.

      • The Other Kevin

Or… talking about dogs and cats finally got people to talk about the issue. Statistics, and even stories about women being raped and murdered, weren’t even enough.

      • Drake

The unbelievable amounts of welfare we are paying is unreported.

Any manufacturer that can use uneducated Hattians won’t be around long. Tim Cook talks about why Apple manufactures in China – because they have enough people with the right vocational education, not because they have cheap idiots to hire.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

This is what Germany found out when they were bringing in “migrants” from north Africa. They didn’t have the long term skill training that the Turks, who had been trained in Germanies school system had. And Germany needed highly trained workers. The whole thing fell apart.

    • R C Dean

“There is no evidence, outside of second- and third-hand social media gossip, to support the notion that Haitian residents of Springfield, Ohio, are eating people’s pet cats or their parks’ waterfowl.”

Well, there’s also recorded calls to the police, and statements by citizens at city council meetings. Saying there is no evidence outside of social media gossip is just wrong. Snopes here is doing the thing where you debunk one piece of evidence, and then declare the matter closed.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

They’re not so much wrong as they’re lying by omission. I’d imagine they’re well aware of the evidence you mention.

    Party of free trade

The Biden administration announced new steps on Friday to curtail what it calls the “overuse and abuse” of a longstanding trade law that permits low-value shipments to enter the United States without paying import duties and processing fees.

The steps include a new rule proposal, which would bar overseas shipments of products that are subject to U.S.-China tariffs from being eligible for the special customs exemption.

Known as the de minimis loophole, the trade provision allows packages with a value of less than $800 to enter the United States with relatively little scrutiny. Over the past decade, the number of de minimis shipments has exploded, from roughly 140 million to more than a billion, according to a White House estimate.

“The drastic increase in de minimis shipments has made it increasingly difficult to target and block illegal or unsafe shipments coming into the U.S.,” Daleep Singh, deputy national security advisor for international economics, told reporters on a Thursday call to preview the actions.

Sounds like something Trump would do.

Traditional retailers typically import containers of merchandise and send them to U.S.-based warehouses for distribution. But Shein and Temu usually ship their products directly to American consumers through their networks of Chinese suppliers.

By utilizing the de minimis loophole to avoid tariffs, Chinese retail giants have likely skirted tens of millions of dollars in import duties.

    They’re robbing us blind!

    • Mojeaux

The long shipping time for Temu actually works for them (at least, in my case). You know you bought a ton of fun, cheap shit, but it takes so long to get to you, you forgot what it was, and it’s like fucking Christmas morning! I love Temu.

In local news, in order to get into the visa waiver Romania needs to get the rejection rate for US visas under 3%. Workers in the Seattle area and in Oregon voted 94.6% against a tentative agreement that Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers unveiled Sunday. The workers voted 96% in favor of a strike, far more than the two-thirds vote required for a work stoppage.

“We strike at midnight,” said IAM District 751 President Jon Holden at a news conference where he announced the vote’s results. He characterized it as an “unfair labor practice strike,” alleging that factory workers had experienced “discriminatory conduct, coercive questioning, unlawful surveillance and we had unlawful promise of benefits.”

“Chat Control”, the EU law proposal that could ban encrypted messenger services in the EU will return again this month.

The bill is aimed at searching all private messages and chats for suspicious content (so-called chat control or child sexual abuse regulation).

According to the latest proposal providers would be free whether or not to use ‘artificial intelligence’ to classify unknown images and text chats as ‘suspicious’.

However they would be obliged to search all chats for known illegal content and report them, even at the cost of breaking secure end-to-end messenger encryption.

EU governments are to position themselves on the proposal by 23 September. Currently, only Poland and Germany have indicated that they will vote against it.

Estonia, Czechia, Austria, Slovenia and the Netherlands have doubts.

EU interior ministers are to endorse it on 10 October.

Messenger providers Signal and Threema have already announced that they will never agree to incorporate such surveillance routines into their apps and would rather shut down operations in the EU.

Such actions can eat into profits, but the brand’s average transaction prices have skyrocketed from less than $40,000 in 2020 to north of $50,000 this year, according to Cox Automotive. Jeep’s average transaction price has been above the industry average since 2021, Cox reports.
