Well, with inflation, $200 billion may not be far off

    (love the closing!)

He was talking about the whales being fucked up from the windmills.

        In the blow hole!

      I don’t want to know.

But yeah Bolton WAS an idiot.

      • Sean

        Still is.

Haha! Nice to have a “ripped from the headlines” edition.

    Thanks, CPRM!

All Trump audio came from the Rogan interview.

  3. UnCivilServant

I spotted the first Harris signs in the wild today – next to a “No on Prop 1” sign. Even in the lefty neighborhoods where people have heard of the proposition, they don’t want it.

    • Ownbestenemy

We have one in my neighborhood. Never actually seen the people in a year either so can assume snowbirds who put out the sign and have migrated south a couple weeks ago.

      • UnCivilServant

You’re in Kentucky, that’s south of the snowbird line. You should be a destination, not a source.

      • Ownbestenemy

        You’d be surprised.

    • Smilin' Joe Fission

There are many here (small town Seacoast area NH), which makes me concerned for NH as a whole.

      • DEG

I can go either way on NH. In my neck of the woods, there aren’t as many Harris/Walz signs out as there in 2024 were Biden/Harris and Obama/Biden (*) signs in 2020. There are more houses with Trump signs in 2024 than there were in 2020.

Trump, in polling/canvassing earlier in 2024, did poorly among independents in NH, but some of his recent moves might change that.

Since you’re in NH, we should get some folks together. I think I still have an e-mail for you. I’ll check. throby455 AT proton DOT me is one you can you use for me.

(*) My one neighbor didn’t have a Biden/Harris sign up in 2020. They had a Obama/Biden sign out. They weren’t the only ones I saw doing that.

It appears that the student’s vote can’t be nullified after the fact and will be counted.

Washtenaw County Clerk Lawrence Kestenbaum told CNN ballots can’t be retrieved once they have gone through the tabulator. Unlike vote-by-mail, ballots cast at in-person voting locations don’t contain any identifying information about the individual voter, making it impossible to determine which one belonged to the student, Kestenbaum said.

β€œThere’s a box of ballots underneath the tabulator and all of the ballots β€” they all look the same … there’s no way to go back and undo it,” Kestenbaum said in an interview.

If Harris wins Michigan by a single vote, Trump is going to be so mad.

    • UnCivilServant

Execute foreign nationals who interfere in elections by voting or worse.

It’s clearly espionage actions to sabotage this country.

    • rhywun

Experts say illegal voting by non-citizens is extremely rare, and when it does happen, it is usually caught quickly.

      OK, then.

      • MikeS

I feel like “extremely” and “usually” are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

    • Chipping Pioneer

He’ll be fine 1/2 hour later.

    • R C Dean

β€œIf he is convicted, he could potentially be deported”

What’s this potentially bullshit? Since he’s already confessed, why is he even still in this country?

    • Ownbestenemy

Did he team up with The Bee? Cause that is not 2016 Trump

    • Ownbestenemy

Say whay we will about his age…he can still climb into a 2-ton

      • R C Dean

        This comment is Tres-approved.

    • Chipping Pioneer

I think this means their internal polling shows them that victory is certain, and he’s just trolling the corporate press now.

    • Sean

How can you not vote for that?

      Fucking A. Trump!

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

He’s the Zeus of public relations, no doubt.

      • robodruid

        Happy fighter.

      • Stinky Wizzleteats

Never thought of it that way but I think you might be right.

      Much troll. So fuck you.

    • Chipping Pioneer

Nancy will still control the DNC when he gets out.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

HOW can you be falling for this shit? That was staged dumbass!

      • cyto

What do you mean? Do you think people have the impression that Vivek Ramaswamy works part time collecting garbage?

“We are not garbage. We are taking out the garbage.”

That is as close to a perfect trolling as you are ever likely to get. Epic.

“We aren’t the garbage, we are recycling the American dream”

Talk about capitalizing on a moment.

Every news organization and democrat operative just spent the last 48 hours loudly proclaiming that calling people garbage is the worst, most heinous thing there is. And no, you don’t get to say it was just some comedian or that it was a joke… everyone who associates with you is your responsibility.

And then the president calls Trump and all of his supporters garbage. And not a joke.

So Trump gets off his plane in Milwaukee and hops in a MAGA garbage truck.

That is as deft a move as I have seen in my lifetime.

You got “I knew John F Kennedy. He was a friend of mine. And you are not John F Kennedy”

        “I’m paying for this microphone”

Jimmy Carter walking to the White House.

This race is full of killer moments. And “we are not the garbage, we are taking out the garbage” is a 10.

      • slumbrew

Walking out of the plane with the hi-viz vest on was a great touch.

      • MikeS

Cyto, your sarcasm meter may be out of whack.

      • slumbrew

        ^^^

      • cyto

        Oh. Sarcasm.

Yeah, we don’t get much call for that around here any more. See, men play on women’s sports teams and call it a civil right, we put tampons in the boys restroom, and men in drag rub their crotches for elementary school kids.

So, yeah…. sarcasm just doesn’t hit like it used to.

    • Ownbestenemy

Their ground game is on point. What is that turn around? Less than 24 hours? Damn

    • cyto

      Trump is really funny.

‘They told me to wear the vest. I said, I’m not wearing the vest. They said, sir, it makes you look thinner.

I said, I’m wearing the vest.

      They got me.

    • Ownbestenemy

“The steps up there….shit” I mean..that reaches millions easily.

      • cyto

The dude is really a pro. I mean, that incident happened like an hour earlier and he managed to come up with a solid 5 minute bit about it that totally lands every beat and makes his point at the same time.

        Very few people do that.

      • kinnath

Saying “shit” on TV was the best part of that story. It was so totally natural and understandable.

      • Ownbestenemy

News: “He can’t navigate the steps!” *ignoring the small steps the current president ascends*

        Reality: “Damn, Ive been there…”

  6. cavalier973

    Conspiracy Theory:

Trump *told* the comedian to make a joke about Puerto Rico being a floating island of garbage, so that Biden would react by calling Trump supporters garbage, and then Trump could pull his garbage truck stunt.

Why else would they have a Trump branded garbage truck at the ready?

    • Ownbestenemy

      Just think…we are here

Only certain people can make jokes.

Hinchciffe’s joke: “I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,”

Lopez joke: “Donald Trump said he was going to build a wall and George Lopez said you better build it in one day because if you leave that material out there overnight….”

Equally funny. Just laugh people cause everyone in attendance at both did.

      • cyto

Rogan talked about the Puerto Rico joke. Said it kills at the comedy club.

Said he told him never to do non-comedy events. Hinchcliffe even uses it in his act.

      • Ownbestenemy

Which is good if Rogan laughed cause he is terrible at standup.

    • Ownbestenemy

Money can turn around anything in less than 24 hours…I don’t think it was preplanned but reports have said the comedian tried the joke out earlier in the day or night prior but cannot find any proof.

    • MikeS

      1. It would not at all surprise me if there was a garbage truck in Wisconsin already decorated with Trump 2024.
      2. Printing out the vinyl decals to slap on a truck would not take long. For a dedicated team it would be a few hours tops.

      • cyto

Trump sort of tells the story in the link above. Team put it together while he was flying to Wisconsin.

      • MikeS

What a great clip. His honesty about it all is awesome.

      • Ownbestenemy

And another opportunity to don the garb of the working man. Her campaign is getting hammered.

    • CPRM

Conspiracy of that Conspiracy, Trump only did all that because he was going to Wisconsin, where the band Garbage is from.

MikeS – The other day regarding 5% of the vote. I want a third party it just seems silly that a third party who feels the current system is corrupt and failing is going to let another possible group in to mess up their very posh party. You know the goalposts will be moved. Hell, I can even see the IRS saying “Well, we can’t distribute these funds because…. ”

So that is why I responded. The Massie route is the way. Take it over from inside the establishment; just like the crazy progressives have.

    • MikeS

Yeah, I know you’re probably right. But I don’t see the Massie route paying many dividends either. IMO the uniparty is the cause of many of our issues, and I just want it destroyed. I’ll vote for Reps or Dems who agree, and I’ll also agitate for a legit third party.

      • Ownbestenemy

        Here here!

      • Ownbestenemy

Or is it Hear Hear! I never know.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

How is getting on the ballot with a mere 5% support gonna destroy the Uniparty?

It will get crushed by the uniparty, who will hear the lamentations of our women.

      • MikeS

How is getting on the ballot with a mere 5% support gonna destroy the Uniparty?

You’ll have to remind me when I made that claim.

      • slumbrew

It’s “hear hear”. As in “hear him! Hear him!”

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

IMO the uniparty is the cause of many of our issues, and I just want it destroyed. I’ll vote for Reps or Dems who agree, and I’ll also agitate for a legit third party.”

And, as OBE points out above, you were talking about the need for 5% to get on the ballots the other day. Maybe I am conflating the two things, but that seems to me to be exactly what you are saying.

      • MikeS

ZWAK: getting to 5% is simply the first battle in the war. I never once claimed that hitting 5% automatically destroys the Uniparty.

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

Indeed, I didn’t think you implied the immediate destruction. But, I don’t think it would work in the long run, either. Which is why I liken it to tilting at windmills. And, yes, I am a member of that party, for what it is worth.

    • creech

That might happen if (when?) the Libertarian Party crashes and burns. Maybe if all their activists had migrated to the GOP when Ron Paul got in the primaries, libertarians would be a more significant force now?

      • Ownbestenemy

The hope is they seep in. Will it be quick enough though is the bigger question.

    • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

This! It is what I have been saying all along. Having the Libertarian party put it’s loser out there just costs money, ’cause he ain’t gonna win. No way, no how. But, putting effort behind one or the other party in the service of liberty can get you a seat at the table; imagine, a Libertarian director of the ATF, a Libertarian in charge of justice? Hell, even being parks director would be a step in the right direction.

Being on the ballot doesn’t mean shit if you are just gonna lose every race. The green party is on the ballot, and what have they done? Squat.

I know in my life time it will switch back to being the Dems who are pushing for liberty, just as in the eighties when I got interested in politics, that is how the world works. But in the push for liberty it shouldn’t matter who is in the catbird seat, it always needs to be fought for.

      • MikeS

        What is a leppo?

      • ZWAK, doktor of BRAIN SCIENCE!

        A cousin to a lert.

    • Chipping Pioneer

Trump already smashed the Republican Party in 2016. In 2024, he’s smashing the Democratic Party.

      • Ownbestenemy

We are seeing ‘the parties switched’ in real-time.

      • MikeS

We are seeing β€˜the parties switched’ in real-time.

We really are. The working class seems to be flipping, or have flipped. And “common knowledge” about racial voting blocks is changing, too. It’s interesting times. In four years I fully expect the stupid party to completely fuck it up and everything reverts back to “normal”.

      • cavalier973

Yep. Donald Trump is an eighties-to-nineties era Democrat, except for the free trade issue, which has been traditionally a part of the Democrat Party platform.

        Pro-abortion, pro-union, pro-FedGov largesse…

Hillary Clinton was an ideologue, but Bill never really was. He was adaptable to the situation, and made β€œconservative” decisions while billing them as Democrat ideas.

β€œAbortions should be safe, legal, and rare.”

He passed NAFTA (which isn’t truly free trade, granted, but was billed as lowering obstacles to trade).

He signed a massive capital gains tax cut that I think was part of why the Internet revolution was so successful.

      • CPRM

The only party switch I’ve seen is the Republicans become the Democrats from the 90s and the Democrats tack farther left.

    • SarumanTheGreat

“Take it over from inside the establishment”

That’s what Trump is trying to do to the Republicans. The rank-and-file pols like McConnell are fighting him all the way, to the point that they’re starving less swampy (R) candidates like Cruz of funds just so they can remain in charge of the Loser Party.

    • CPRM

When Gary Johnson polled high enough to get into the debates they switched it to you had to poll that in THE RIGHT polls. They gatekeep the shit out of 3rd parties.

    • cyto

So what do the do…. just pickaxe each other to death? That is even more grizzly if you want to play this reality metaphor out…..

      • Ownbestenemy

No clue but out of *checks notes* 200 million players which 60% are American and ~25% are of voting aged….not good. 400 players? Shit, I may get that on my game where its just walking around.

      • SarumanTheGreat

Why does spell-check or whatever ‘corrects’ spelling constantly misspell ‘grisly’ as ‘grizzly’? I have seen it so many times all over the internet it’s become completely unbearable.

      • whiz

        unbearable

What you did there was seen.

  8. Ownbestenemy

Thought we’d have a game. We did not. Just submitted a player who can walk through a level. 7 days for beginners, not easy. Kids and I are looking at other contests we can join though.

    • MikeS

Good luck. We’re all (still) counting on you.

  9. cyto

I agree…. there is a huge political realignment underway. And it is global.

The establishment has become so entrenched at feeding from the public trough, they are detached from the people.

But they have all the power. Every institution is fully captured.

They are ever so close to closing the door on us and making Big Brother a reality.

I don’t know if it is too late. But if Harris wins, it is definitely too late.

  10. cavalier973

So, the other day I microwaved a pile of chocolate chips, spooned some peanut butter on it, microwaved the whole thing some more, worked the melted chocolate over the peanut butter, and put it in the fridge.

Tasty, but hard as a rock.

I was looking up recipes for something similar, and the closest I could find is a three ingredient recipeβ€”chocolate chips, peanut butter, and confectioner’s sugar.

I don’t see the sugar as necessary.

What I want is something to keep the melted-then-refrigerated chocolate from breaking one’s teeth, and I haven’t taken a cooking class to know this sort of stuff.

Would adding butter to the chocolate do anything? It seems like it would keep the chocolate relatively soft, but for all I know it would make the chocolate inedible.

    Maybe refined coconut oil?

Speaking of which, I used some to make pan-cooked popcorn earlier, and it was delicious.

    • Ownbestenemy

Chocolate seizes up as it comes back to room temp. What are you trying to do?

      • cavalier973

Mimic Reese’s PB cups, without the cups.

I usually just get a spoonful of peanut butter and dump chocolate chips on top of it.

I might just melt the chips and plop some peanut butter on it, but not refrigerate it.

    • R.J.

Are you attempting to make a paste of the chocolate to mix with peanut butter?

      • Ownbestenemy

How this inst a SP reference I will never know.

      • cavalier973

        That sound delicious, and exhausting.

    • cavalier973

      I don’t want a double-pan (or whatever it’s called.

That’s too much work, plus more clean-up.

      I’m being lazy.

Microwave some choco-chips, toss in some PB. Profit.

      • UnCivilServant

        It’s a double boiler.

You put one pot with water in it on the stove, put a metal bowl in that pot and let the steam off the water gently heat the chocolate.

Just use an oven mitt to hold the bowl and you’re golden. You can use the same bowl to mix in your peanut butter and have the same amount of cleanup as the microwave with better results.

Economic fact, chocolate is tied to coffee/tea on the open market.

    • cyto

OK, I see all these high tech solutions. Now I am going to tell you the secret. The redneck way.

      You get a spoon

      A jar of peanut butter.

      A bottle of Hershey syrup

      A banana

Put on a good show. Peel the banana

Dig a half spoon of peanut butter. Fill the other half with chocolate. Enjoy a couple of delicate mouthfuls

Get a fresh spoon of peanut butter. Load the end of the banana. Yum

Now you have a scoop shaped end of the banana where you bit it. Fill with chocolate.

Continue as your palate demands. Pure peanut butter. Pure chocolate. It’s all good.

You don’t have to live in a trailer park to enjoy the finer things in life.

      • cavalier973

Partial Breach of Election Machine Passwords in Colorado Poses No Risk, State Says\

  15. cyto

So, I have been noticing for weeks that every post about Trump, every post by Elon is immediately hit with a community note that turns out to be partisan nonsense. I figured it was coordinated.

And they may have exposed it here

Harris campaign using a discord server to coordinate attacks on X using community notes.

    • CPRM

How can they manipulate what Trump said like that!? My word!

  16. Gustave Lytton

I just want to throw a boot thru the tv. Trump is praising Carter as he didn’t let in millions of illegals including criminals and people from mental institutions… is the Mariel Boatlift memory holed already? How TF did there get to be millions of illegals in this country for Reagan and the Congress to give amnesty to?

    • CPRM

Overton window bro, the Republican party is now the party of Carter. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. SarumanTheGreat

This will be the cleanest election ever. NOT

    Text from the twitter post:

“After reviewing the Qualified Voter File (QVF) of votes actually cast as of yesterday, Oct 29, 2024, the database identifies 114,545 Michigan voters who have cast 279,113 ballots from multiple addresses across the state. This results in 164,568 excess ballots as of 10/29/2024. Below is one Voter ID”

    https://x.com/mdeperno/status/1851652442288464365

And this is but one example. IMO the Harris campaign didn’t pull ads from Michigan because it was a lost cause; they pulled ads because it is in the bag.

    • cyto

It was an error in how the report was built. Trump team investigated and is satisfied test no extra votes exist

      • SarumanTheGreat

        That is reassuring.

That will come in handy today when I have to print a small (<$30) check to the IRS as a penaltax for the times our employer 401(k) contributions were late because our payroll processor and our retirement investment company couldn't settle on the method of transmitting the money. πŸ™„

        How are you?

      • UnCivilServant

I overslept, and I’m getting exasperated with one of my direct reports. He can’t seem to get his head around the concept of writing a document for someone else. No, your scatterbained notes do not help other teams or new hires understand what’s going on.

I’d say fire him, but he’s GovSec.

Ugh. Where do you send a state employee for remedial written communication training?

      • MikeS

Is this a riddle, GT? My answer is: the Corrections Department.

      • UnCivilServant

DOCCS is hiring Corrections Officer Trainees.

More seriously, one of my guys wrote too much and I had to ask him to trim that document down, the other wrote too little andI had to ask him to expand upon what was on the page.

      As of yet undetermined.
