I’m really into my brain, I’m really into my liver, really into my endocrine system. I love taking care of my lymphatic system. Then I started to notice changes creeping in after I hit 35. And I really started to regard the skin as an organ. It’s OK to take care of yourself and love that organ as well. And that doesn’t mean you are any less smart and it doesn’t mean you’re afraid of aging, it just means you’re taking care of the whole system. So once I got into that, I’ve had a lot of fun.

My step-brother used to have a similar vintage Bronco – but 100% stock. He let me use it once for about a week when I was back home. That was the last chance I’ve had to drive a stick and really love manual transmissions.
But one memory that sticks with me about that vehicle was some dude who was insistent about talking to me about selling it to him. He set off multiple “felon” and “grifter” alarms in my head. I barely maintained my cool enough to not start waving an HK USP in his face and coldly telling him where to get off.

Government can do one thing in a disease situation. Quarantine. Quarantine relly only works if imposed brutally and very early on. But, you cannot justify the required brutality unless the disease is killing a lot of people, which with a real pandemic means it is already too late to be effective, so quarantines only work with horribly deadly, but not particularly contagious diseases.

RAHeinlein

I don’t have a response – it’s unclear what other governments are doing. CDC has screwed the pooch – bad test kits, extreme delay for accurate kits, poor guidance, websites updates, etc.
My son’s college sent emails last week (Spring break) urging students to check the CDC website for updates, particularly related to travel. I had several email communications with the Dean of Students asking whether he had looked at the CDC website, and ultimately provided links with better information.

Singapore was aggressive in contact tracing when it first started, and following up with to contacts for a period after. They’ve also been very transparent about what’s going on with the cases
They requested businesses track their employees’ travel as well as logging visitors to assist in contact tracing when there’s been a case. A lot of things that wouldn’t go over here but typical Singapore. I know our companies’ offices there were very quick to start isolating from the other and encourage work from home. I’ve heard part of it is from the SARS experience the first time around.

A couple of things about Meghan Markle: (1) She comes off as trailer trash because she comes off as a gold-digger. She must have a magic coochie or something. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—8 years total, then it’s divorce court. I do not for one second believe she loves that kid. (2) You know going into that family it’s a job and you’re being vetted for the position. If she didn’t want to do it, she could’ve been the mistress like every other respectable royal has ever had.
Re Plant. “Ship of Fools” better song, but I’m not linking it because my brain hurts.
I’ve paid zero attention to the Markle kerfuffle but the one thing I’ve noted is that she obviously carries Harry’s balls around in her purse. That hit home to me when he suddenly started parroting her Hollywood political causes.

Hey; if it’s an ‘agreement’, it’s totes legit.

2021 Ford Bronco Is Finally Fully Viewable
I’m intrigued. How well does it handle on the Los Angeles freeway when being chased by the cops?
Ford, the bitches, will acquiesce to the cops and just shut the fucker down.
This will never happen again.
I’ve never seen vanishing point. Worth the time?
Yes, but it is kind of slow by today’s standards.
I don’t mind slow films if they are taking time to develop characters.
I absolutely love it.
Cleavon Little was awesome.
Please watch it it and give us your youngster review.
Cleaving Little? ALL IN!
And Charlotte Rampling. Yum.
So you’ve seen the movie?
Double feature with Billy Jack.
“I am going to take my right foot, and wap it right up on the right side of your face, and you know what? There is not a damn thing you can do about it.”
Yes. And the remake with Viggo wasn’t bad either.
Avoid the Jason Priestly remake.
It is very quirky, but with the appropriate buzz you will enjoy spectacularly.
That is fucking ugly.
They should have called it the Nagurski.
I like it, it reminds me of an older model Toyota Land Cruiser more than an older model Bronco though.
I dig it. It has elements from the original 60’s and early 70’s broncos. I would rather the 2 door with the 7speed manual and 2.7l twin turbo version.
Old bronco.
https://dealeraccelerate-all.s3.amazonaws.com/artandspeed/images/2/0/9/209/6679_25d12fb6f3_low_res.jpg
Meh. Bland and too much like every other “SUV”.
Most cars handle pretty well at 15 mph.
So the 2020s is turning out to be the decade of the fugly car, I see.
Mammary Monday is still pissed off about motherfucking clock changes.

Yes. Though it was probably smarter to abstain today.

WTF?
Who wouldn’t love it if red wine started flowing from their kitchen sink?
As long as I have a faucet where I can get water, having red wine flow from the kitchen sink is OK by me.
Water? Glib-card REVOKED!
A box of wine is a suitable substitute.

If you wash your hands too much you can cause cracking leading to another entry vector.
Wait, does that apply to my penis too?
If you’re washing your penis more than once a week, you’re doing it wrong.
“Its mine and Ill wash it as fast as I want!”
⬆⬆
If you’re continuously washing it, it only counts as one time, right?
I’m fucked. My hands already get dried out in the winter.
Just don’t price gouge.
No gouging here, no product available to gouge
If only we had a command economy this wouldn’t be an issue.

On the plus side, if it takes out Pennsylvania we’ll cut the unfunded liabilities in half.

Oh good, otherwise it would have read like pretentious gibberish.
“Our enzyme-rich, activated, and dehydrated California almonds are an alkaline, mineral-dense protein. Pure, alkaline water awakens the nuts’ dormant properties, increasing digestibility and micronutrient, vitamin, and enzyme count.”
That really activates the almonds.

In the Mood
“Big Log” is one of my favorite road trip songs. Not just because the video and theme of the song seems to be about a road trip but the mood of it all just feels that way.
I’m looking forward to a long road trip in the US west in about a month. Much coolness.

Is it Trump’s fault?
You have to ask?
Heard today: coronovirus is just another symptom of the dark miasma Trump unleashed on the world.
Where is Marianne Williamson when we need her?
China is literally blaming it on the US now.
Well, we also have Tucker Carlson insinuating that the coronavirus was a plot by the inscrutable Dr. Fu Manchu and his Dragon Ladies to extort these God-fearing United States of America into buying their pharmaceuticals.
So there’s that.

And I find it disgusting that doctors are separating families.
kIdZ iN kAgEz!
What part of National Crisis don’t you understand?
Always err on the side of more govt control.
The article was certainly correct regarding the CDC sitting back – incompetent fucks.
What government has handled this well?
I heard North Korea was executing people who had it.
Maybe Singapore?
Tried and true method.
And Taiwan perhaps.
South Korea also.
“Well” is an ill defined term. Singapore and Taiwan seem to be doing better because the people aren’t spitting on the street. But, to be honest, I don’t really know what those governments are doing.
They’ve also been very transparent about what’s going on with the cases
https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/7e30edc490a5441a874f9efe67bd8b89
They requested businesses track their employees’ travel as well as logging visitors to assist in contact tracing when there’s been a case. A lot of things that wouldn’t go over here but typical Singapore. I know our companies’ offices there were very quick to start isolating from the other and encourage work from home. I’ve heard part of it is from the SARS experience the first time around.
Just remember, that while some of they top players have changed, these are mostly the same people that gave us the Iraq war, Obamacare and NPR. Being disappointed at govt incompetence isn’t in my arsenal.
If any article deserved “Ok, Boomer” it was that one.

Does anyone remember this kind of panic about the Swine Flu in 2009? That eventually killed more than 12,000 Americans.
Eh, the flu is just something that happens these days, and, putting a nice piggy on it makes it even less bad. Besides, it’s usually only the old-timers and AIDS folk that really have to really worry.

I’m pretty sure I last took a dose of dayquil at ~4pm.
I remember winters of chugging Nyquil in order to make it thru a day of classes and then a shift at work. Dayquil didn’t exist then.
Oh, lordy! How did you stay awake?
No idea.
It’s weird because it does put to me to sleep now but back then it did not.
Yeah, I’ve never been made drowsy by Nyquil. It can help me sleep fairly soundly, but doesn’t bring the sleep itself.
Drink your fluids and get well.
Most likely you are doing better. Once you stop having fevers it’s usually a sign that your body’s defenses are winning.
Or you’re decompensating and will die shortly.
Hard to say, really.

Has anyone reputable looked into the use of lead for dealing with COVID-19? I see that it’s useful in other applications.
See North Korea above.
So……a cure, then?
Yes
I didn’t see one gun in that video.

That is fantastic research. I approve.
“Has anyone reputable looked into the use of lead for dealing with COVID-19?”
Who are among those that you consider reputable, LDSA?
Just off the top of my head, any medical researcher/clinician/doctor not affiliated with a political entity. If they exist.
Also, maybe Jerry Miculek.
Thank you for responding and I will look into the matter (although I am not one who has greater access than you do).
That article would have been even better without the copsucking.
That article would have been even better without the cops
ucking.There ya go.
Thanks for the assist. In fairness, if the cops didn’t come the homeowner would have had to bury the body which is unfair to him.
He didn’t shoot the guy in the arms, so, in theory, Mr. Burglar-Wannabe could still dig. Would take an extra-long time, but, fair’s fair.
And, we joke (the copsucking was unnecessary), but, if we are talking about an attempted burglary, I would put that squarely in the ‘legitimate’ category for cops.
Of course, robust self-defense FTW!!
Of White Pride, and nasty notes left for others.
Is it just me, or are the majority of these things hoaxes?
Most do seem to be. Miss Meth was, apparently, caught on camera doing it. I can only guess that she was ‘paid’ to do it.

Without clicking on the links, it seems to me that your response gives strong evidence that it is indeed you, the “Q” (or “QC”) who seems fond to posting such links.
Even if you do take offense from me at this posting, might you consider providing more links to “(L) libertarian” leaning thoughts for individuals who are not familiar with such thoughts?
I understand (and have read here on this website) that many individuals find commonality with you regarding what you have and will probably offer in the future. Might I recommend including other links?
This may be an awkward combination for you (as clearly it would be for many others): Juxtaposing principles with pictures.
I look forward to your success in this regard.

@Trashy, congrats on the wee muppet.

@HM, I am still waiting to see your manager.
Obligatory.
I’ve paid zero attention to the Markle kerfuffle but the one thing I’ve noted is that she obviously carries Harry’s balls around in her purse. That hit home to me when he suddenly started parroting her Hollywood political causes.
Bingo. Give this man a cigar.
Nah…Harry knocked her up, and she knew she had the ticket.
Her cooch is prolly sub-par
Harlem Nights, anyone?
Instead of incest and creating retarded children, Harry went and married one. Step up for the royals.
Possibly already posted, but whatever.
Should I Pause My Open Marriage Because of the Coronavirus?
Yes, and I still think the reveal is that the mother is the husband’s girlfriend.

That the Canadians had a pop up logoed tent for processing their citizens off the Grand Princess just amazes me. Why is Trump allowing this tent gap to exist?
#MakeAmericaBrandedAgain
We have the best quarantines, just the best. People don’t want to leave these places, so nice. It’s hard to believe. I saw one myself and thought this could be a nice hotel. The Canadians, you know, they have their tents and all.
Sometimes, you’re the parrot; sometimes, you’re the cat.
That is one patient cat.
And, a lucky bird. Then again, African Grays are supposed to be intelligent. Enough so that this one can effectively pester the cat.

This week’s hide and seek semi-finalist:
https://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/2020/03/man-found-safe-after-going-missing-at-hopcat-in-kalamazoo.html
How is that news?
Slow news day?
***SIGH*** It’s going to be a long day. I was up in the wee hours with a rambunctious cat. Finally got him settled down and sleeping on the bed, but then I couldn’t get back to sleep.
I can empathize, though I’ve never had the issue with a cat, I do know the effect of insomnia.
I’ve long been prone to insomnia. I have to watch my caffeine intake past noon, and I don’t dare take pseudoephedrine any time other than first thing in the morning. (That is, before it was effectively outlawed.)
I’ve suffered since I was 8-9 years old. Doctor at the time prescribed sleeping pills. The early 70’s were a different world.
Going back to the earlier comments regarding “Vanishing Point” my buddy owned a ’71 Challenger with the 383 hemi and the slap shift. Good lord that car was fast. The first and only time that I’ve ever driven 140 MPH. This was 1982 so just imagine the abuse that poor thing must have suffered up until that point. He traded his stereo straight across for the car but rolled it on ice just a few months later. Wound up driving a Fargo pick-up for awhile and stepped down to a Datsun and finally a Maverick. That early 80’s blight was real, yo! The Maverick wound up on top of a bonfire while we danced around and cheered. Rednecks playing.
