Some Lefties have this weird worldview where Fox News is the entire media, and every other network is just some ragtag, independent, grassroots outfit trying to deliver the truth to the people. I’ve heard that Fox is being a bit less hysterical about the whole thing, so maybe that’s what they’re talking about.

Instead of posting on the dead thread, I think I will start Ozy’s plan of adding a squat for 100 days. Did the first day a few minutes ago. I have smiley face stickers, so I put one on the calendar. I’ll do that every day and can see my progress that way.
As much as I feel that our pop culture is utterly uninteresting, I always make a point to remember that there was a time when we celebrated Billy Crystal.
They’ve restocked somewhat – egg section was about 1/4 full of store-brand eggs, store-packaged beef section was maybe 10% full instead of empty. Bananas were back, so I bought some.
Yesterday, they were out of frozen pizzas; today they had plenty of weird CPK-brand pizzas (bbq chicken pizza, etc.). Dairy section looked like it had been restocked and picked over.
One odd thing I noticed – the bread aisle was empty, but there was plenty of bread in the bakery section, and the King’s Hawaiian section – which for some reason is over by the deli – was completely full.
Still plenty of booze, although it did seem like there was slightly less wine than normal – the wine section was maybe 95% full rather than 100%, but that may be a stocking/labor issue.
Toilet paper row still empty.
The restocking has me fairly confident now that this isn’t going to be a major issue, just a couple weeks of forced meal planning rather than being able to cook up, say, spaghetti and meatballs on a whim.

I did a grocery store pick up order today. They were out of stock of one item (a snack). I was able to get pasta, pasta sauce, cheese, and salads to get me through these trying times. I’ve got more then enough meat in the chest freezer, a decent number of frozen vegetables, flour, stock, and canned soups. I splurged today and bought Borderlands 3, as it was on sale and I should probably just stay in for the next week (at least).
My beer stock is getting low, but I have enough hard liquor to hold me over.

I went yesterday for just a normal grocery run and noticed a few things:
Bread aisle was completely empty of cheap sandwich white bread. All gone. Pepperidge Farm and Sarah Lee were virtually untouched. Worked out for me.
Not a single bag of regular white rice. Jasmine and basmati were untouched. Worked out for me.

The issues at my grocery store (from Saturday): most fresh veggies/bagged veggies gone, so no carrot sticks, dammit; bread isle virtually gone, but frozen and bakery breads untouched; bottled water kaput; toilet paper and paper towels nada; meat section was so-so, but the butcher’s case had a decent selections still…
But, things that would last for a long-ish time, like jerky and whatnot? Un-f’ing-touched.

Bread was completely gone, but flour was still there. Iodized and Kosher salt were gone, but canning/pickling salt was untouched. Milk was cleaned out, but dry milk was full capacity.
It’s boggling to see people loading up on perishable food. What does it matter if you get enough food to last six months if it’s all going to be expired in two weeks?? In any kind of disaster or disturbance, my priority would be nutrient-dense nonperishable food: canned meat, fish, and produce, dry milk, flour, and dry grains.
(Luckily, I’m a baking enthusiast so I have enough flour and grains of various kinds to eat well for about two months. All my shopping runs in the near future will prioritize canned fish and produce)

Don’t listen to these people. S1 is fantastic. S2 is a letdown because of the nature of S1, but it’s also a different kind of show. It’s more of a sequel rather than a second season.
If you liked S2, S3 seems to be started that way. I fell asleep.

Respirators, supplemental oxygen, or extra corporeal membrane oxygenation and other supportive care if degrades. If it doesn’t, not much other than ride it out generally. Cancer may weigh in on whether to place in a hospital setting earlier. Monitor for fever and maybe use a pulse oximeter to monitor oxygenation.
There is some use of antivirals, particularly one from Gillead but it’s limited to trial/compassionate use.

Today in the supermarket some jerkoff was stood blocking off the tinned beans and pulses with body and cart until his wife had finished making her selection (they took their sweet time). He ignored me so I stood staring directly at him while he stood firm, gut sucked in and chest puffed out, stoically refusing to meet my gaze. Ordinarily three or four people could browse and make a selection, but today it was the proud territory of this guy. I was looking forward to a stern passive aggressive ignoring, which is of course what transpired.

My bees are sucking up about 6 cups of sugar per day and I noticed some realtors (scout bees) measuring my swarm trap for carpet today. I am confident they will move in before the end of April.
My brother informed me that he spotted a cougar near his yard this weekend. Mysteriously the herd of hogs that were visiting his yard nightly dont seem to be coming around lately.

Jarflax
on March 15, 2020 at 10:02 pm
My father is 85 and I worry about him in this. But I also worry about him in general. The high risk group for this, as with the flu, is people who are inherently at high risk of dying. Yes, it is an additional worry. Yes, there will be lives shortened by this, but the extreme precautions will of themselves kill some high risk people. Every inconvenience the Government imposes to stop the spread is a disruption of people’s lives, adds stress, adds difficulty, adds confusion. The most vulnerable to the disease are also the most vulnerable to disruptions of their daily routine. This is the precautionary principle in action, shut everything down to be safe. But everything we are shutting down arose for a reason, and every shut down carries a cost.

My sister is almost hysterical about my dad. I’ve mentioned that my grandfather died in January. Well, his house has now sold but, even after the estate sale, there’s still a bunch of stuff in it. Dad, who will turn 69 next month, feels obligated to go up there later this week as his older sister is having to get the house emptied by herself. My sister is convinced he will get sick and die if he goes to Long Island. Dad is a lifelong smoker and was hospitalized for several days when he got the flu a few years ago, so he definitely is a higher risk guy. Mom is upset about it too.
Me, well….I worry, but Dad is gonna do what he’s gonna do regardless of what any of us say. No real point in getting all worked up over it, and it’s not as if he’s going to be spending time around anyone but family.

You wake up at your folks place and have breakfast. Maybe you work in the yard before it gets warm. UGA plays at their noon, so 11 for us. You’ve got things to do, so you hug and move along and they wave from the porch.
Back home, you and the wife put on the game of the week. 2:30 CBS: Bama’s gonna kill us, but that’s more times than not. You drink your favorite beer, scratch the dog behind the ears. Dressed, you head out.
Sonnyboy meets you at the bar at 6 to watch his alma mater. You don’t really care, but you enjoy his caring. It’s his world now: he eats a huge steak; you’ve already had meat this week and just nibble. He’s into his girl, they have plans, and you know they’ll take care of each other. Some more of his friends show up, but it’s getting late; they’re going to watch some PAC-8 nonsense and stay up a few more beers, but you’ve had it. You kiss goodbye and take your leave; the noise of the crowd closes with the door, and you drive into the fading light.
I’ve watched my share of games. I’ve left my mark and my prodigy. I could do much worse than a swift disease. They will have the games without me.

I don’t expect my f-I-l will survive it and don’t see how he will avoid it since he hasn’t changed anything about how he goes about things day-to-day.
Not sure about my step mom back in NM. She’s relatively healthy but over 80 and not exactly fit. She is limiting her contact with others she doesn’t know – sticking to a small circle of friends.
I’m not questioning its severity or who is at risk.
I’m questioning its spread and the rapidity that’s being reported.
But I may just be out of the loop on such things because I never go anywhere. Don’t have a clue how Mr. Mojeaux ended up with pneumonia a couple of weeks ago, but a packed ER on a Wednesday morning was not what I would have expected.

But yea, it’s weird. It’s the only explanation I can come up with when I hear them say mind-boggling things like “The media was really biased against Obama”.
I’m going to guess this same person thought the media was under-reacting to Y2K.
Anyone watching the debate? How big a shit show is it so far?
I am watching Razorfist over commentate it now. He is having a great time. Grumpy Old Men sequel!
Ah, thanks…
I like the avatar.
Its not even on the networks?
Why do I find that rich ?
Ya, I thought that was funny. I had to search out a stream and then lasted ten minutes.
I turned it off and tuned into armed american radio on the local hate channel.
Biden: “12 years of education is not enough, we need 16 years of education.”
Get the fuck outta here!
You cut off GlibFit for this?
It never quite gets a chance to blossom, does it?
Chafed wanted some Hall & Oates.

Instead of posting on the dead thread, I think I will start Ozy’s plan of adding a squat for 100 days. Did the first day a few minutes ago. I have smiley face stickers, so I put one on the calendar. I’ll do that every day and can see my progress that way.
Do people ever say “cop a squat” anymore?
Isn’t it pop a squat?
Yes, they do.
No, not….well, maybe for some.
As much as I feel that our pop culture is utterly uninteresting, I always make a point to remember that there was a time when we celebrated Billy Crystal.

Always? I am just a creature of the wheel in my honky paradise.
Sequel to Elton John album? Best hipster band name? Title to my future autobiography?
Can’t be your band name. Too many people would confuse you with Honkey Toast
I have no band–unless, of course, we’re talking the glib Band of Brothers. ‘Cause, we’re so combative, and shit.
Honky Paradise
Went to the grocery store again today.
The frozen pizza section here looked to be about 50% stocked with the usual assortment of flavors available.
And since it hasn’t been said in this thread yet. Fuck you Mike DeWine. Fuck you very much.
One odd thing I noticed – the bread aisle was empty, but there was plenty of bread in the bakery section, and the King’s Hawaiian section – which for some reason is over by the deli – was completely full.
I got the very last 2 liter of Coke Zero. Apparently, Coke Zero is critical to ride out a pandemic. Tons of regular and diet Coke 2 liters remained. Bastards.
People are stupid.
It’s boggling to see people loading up on perishable food. What does it matter if you get enough food to last six months if it’s all going to be expired in two weeks??
So. Much. This.
I had the same thought. They stocked up on toilet paper; they bought out the bread and milk; but they left the rice untouched. The shelves were full of canned veggies and tuna.
Our regional warehouse is trying to restock itself. Stores got no trucks today. I was just given a paid day off, so now I’m here until I drift away to slumberland.
Our Walmart closed at 11:00 last night to restock. Opened at 6:00.
Very strange and disorienting not having a nearby Walmart not open at 2:00 a.m. /nosarc
It is odd….kinda like living in rural US in the 70’s, or, something like that. One of the reasons WM is as big as it is.
Here in NYC, we are experiencing a spike in violent crime and we now have to suffer shopping with those old timey paper pokes. It IS like the 1970s again.
Oh, fuuuuck.
NYC?? I can’t even, right now.

Dear lord. This is two old white guys yelling, “get off my lawn!” at each other.
Look on the bright side- Biden wants to militarize the health system, so we might get some interesting Third Amendment cases.
“The Sunshine Boys” was a good ass movie.
Wait….as in, “stick it where it don’t”??
Hoping Season 3 of Westworld is good. I could use some entertainment.
The missus and I have been looking for a new series to stream, are Westworld’s first two seasons any good?
We had heard it was mostly porn with people pretending to be robots. I did like the original movie with Yul Brynner, though.
Boy, did that HBO series version of Watchmen suck as bad as sucking can be, so we’ve been reluctant to try another HBO lately, although Succession has its moments.
Sounds like the question has been asked and answered.
Season One was very good, two was okay. Far better than Watchmen.
I agree with this. Season 1 was much better than season 2.
Don’t listen to these people. S1 is fantastic. S2 is a letdown because of the nature of S1, but it’s also a different kind of show. It’s more of a sequel rather than a second season.
If you liked S2, S3 seems to be started that way. I fell asleep.
It’s getting even more cartoonish, but not lethally so. There was a big promise at the end of E1 tonight: like the bungled tangents from earlier seasons, I suspect they’ve bitten off more than they can chew and this will sputter like vacuum secondaries coming in too early on a four barrel.
But the horse flesh is purty, so I’ll nap lightly and keep one eye open.
Sorry, I gotta cross post this.
Why I want to die at 75 and you should too
You first, boomer. Just do it now. I’ll gladly come piss on your grave, you piece of shit.
And he is an adviser to a candidate who is older than 75.
If he’s really committed to that it’s easy to achieve.
Ah, yes: The “it’s not really ‘living’ living, if it’s not achieving my personal benchmarks” argument.
Well, kudos on his upcoming funeral. I’m sure his suicide will get counted in some violence study, or other, to be used to deprive us of more rights.
I have to go wash my hands…………out.
Meanwhile, in Massachusetts…
How about grocery stores, Target, Walmart?
Does that include employees? Does everyone else have to wait outside in a group? Wouldn’t that defeat the entire point? Isn’t putting a hard limit on the amount of people in one place kinda stupid without taking into account the area of the place? For instance, 25 people in the corner store is slightly different than 25 people in the supermarket.
I’m not sure if they really have thought this through. But I’m flying back home on Tuesday and will report how it really looks like on the ground.
The corrupt kleptocratic mayor of NOLA just announced ALL bars and restaurants must have last-call at 11:15, and all patrons out of the building by midnight. Also, no more than 50% of the rated occupancy is allowed in building at any time. People be retarded, yo.
At least they get to stay open for seated customers. : /
In further virus news, I talked to my mom today.
Her best friend, who has cancer, is convinced* that she also has teh coronavirus, but unfortunately the doctor won’t test her for it and told her to just go to the emergency room which is what they’re telling people not to do and so now her friend is probably going to die of teh coronavirus before the cancer kills her. This is all Trump’s fault of course because he’s stupid and incompetent and also very evil and bad.
* note: her friend lives in an area which afaik has no reported cases of coronavirus and does not go out in public very much anyways because of the cancer.
Is there even a treatment regiment if you are sick from it? Maybe an IV with some vitamins mixed in?
The only “treatment” I saw mentioned was respirators for those who were having problems breathing on their own. I’d guess some anti-virals may do something, but I doubt there’s been any real testing so far.
You were warned a Handmaid’s Tale was coming true!
Well there would be if Trump hadn’t fired everyone at the CDC and burned down the building while singing the Russian national anthem.
The old ‘Rally Pack ?‘ ?
Ive had a couple of those
My first act as dictator would be to make them OTC.
In Army, we would sometimes stick ourselves with those on really long road marches. 9th Infantry Regt. (Manchu) did a 100 mile forced march twice per year that we often got roped into; their medics turned us on to the joys of refreshing Ringer’s Lactate.
Sounds like she should stay the hell away from the hospital emergency room if at all possible.

A beer store in Nashua announced on-line sales with pick-up only. No deliveries, not allowed, but you can place your order on-line and pick it up within an hour. No in store sales.
NH government schools close
Gov. Chris Sununu announced Sunday that all public schools will be closed in New Hampshire beginning Monday to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
Sununu made the announcement after Dr. Benjamin Chan, the state epidemiologist, announced that there were six new cases of COVID-19 in New Hampshire, bringing the state’s total to 13.
Later in the article it states the order doesn’t apply to private schools.
No online beer sales in my area. Even before Mike closed everything down, Great Lakes announced they were closing. Saucy has said they’re expanding their general delivery options, but were going takeout sales only. 37 confirmed cases in Ohio last I checked.
I saw a few PA small breweries in the Philly area have shut down their taprooms or doing take-out only.
Undun was one of the best pop songs ever.
I’m late to this but let me pile on to the pile and state that some deserve to die.

The story of Duncan Lemp is a disturbingly disgusting story.

And here’s how WaPo is trying to smear the victim:
It’s ok to kill internet trolls, since they’re not really human.
I saw that. The Guardian said he was “anti-government” (I don’t see how that’s a bad thing). And then quoted the SPLC who noted that words like “boogaloo” and “three percenter” are scary and bad. He suffered from “wrong thought”, ergo it’s good that he died.
Fuck that. Duncan is a martyr killed by a criminal state.
Never mind that shit: he was CAUCASIAN!
California governor calls for closure of all bars and wineries
Ohio already closed all bars and restaurants as of 9pm tonight. I’m trying to figure out how we go about recalling the Governer.
You recall him. I am trying to forget him.
I thought Kasich and Taft were bad…
If you go through Alice DeWine’s gallery, she’s using a courthouse and courtroom as her backdrop. I know those are ‘public spaces’, but isnt that something of a conflict?
Also- nearly every lawyer had a head shot in an office with bookcases full of law books- does anyone every actually use them ?
I don’t, but I do transactional work so obscure court decisions are seldom involved. As far as lawyers filing appelate briefs and unusualy motions almost everything is available online now.
Geeze. Emergency is the health of petty tyrants.

I love this guy, I think a lot like he does.
Well I guess I’ll be up for awhile. Kitty having some sort of episode of something. 🙁
Sorry Rhywun. What’s going on?
Drooling and panting heavily. Emergency vet says maybe she ate something wrong. I dunno whether to freak out and call an Uber now or wait until the morning and carry her to the hospital around the corner.
Sorry.
Thanks guys. She seems a little more stable now. Maybe not freakout time yet.
I would still go now, especially if she’s older. Could be heart disease which is what ultimately killed late lamented cat. There’ll never be another like him.
Yikes, good luck, hope everything turns out ok.
*deletes kittycoronavirus joke*
Go now!
What if she’s been poisoned?
On my way
Damn. good luck, Rhy. Scary.
I’m sorry to hear that Rhy. Be there for her and her some help as soon as you can.
Late lamented cat ate a spider once and apparently (according to emergency vet) got bit. He was shaking, foaming at the mouth and panting. We went to emergency vet, but they didn’t really do anything and he lived another 6 years. But, it was worth going just for the reassurance.

Presented without comments because drugs are probably going to fall out of my ass.
This just made it to the end of the GlibFit so I’d say the drugs didn’t quite fall out but you did at least just graze the scrotum with that accidental discharge. Any closer and the package from Tijuana would indeed have been delivered prematurely.

Interest rates slashed to zero. Time to refinance. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2020/03/15/coronavirus-latest-news/
I refinanced pretty close to the last trough. If it looks like I can do better, I might just refinance again.
Just took a quick look. Nope, not yet.
Even with the fed rate at zero I don’t think it’s ever going to go down past the zero-cost 2.5% fixed 15-year we got six years ago. And even if it somehow goes to 2.375 or 2.25 that’s not worth refinancing over. Only nine years left to go as it is.
SIGH….
And the circuit breaker was triggered on a SUNDAY. Put down the crack pipe, Powell. You’re making it worse
Zero? I am curious why anyone would refinance. Who lends money like that?
Mortgage companies won’t go to zero.
Yeah, we totally did not expect this:
Biden is our man!
He remembered to wear pants so my expectations were exceeded.

China is great at curing poverty says Bernie. Of course, killing 20 million people helps with redistribution. Nice to see he has a model to follow.
Did he really say that? The fact that he is unashamedly a commie apologist is disgusting.
And fucking infuriating that he is a leading contender for a a national party endorsement for president. It’s gawd damn mind boggling, really.
Twenty million?
Check out the Chicom apologist here.
Ha! You mean that isn’t what happened in his fabled Scandinavia?
Capitalism brought those people out of poverty in spite of the CCP, not because of it. The only credit they deserve is for having the sense to get out of the way before they collapsed China completely.
Would someone kick that crazy’s all already? Really.
Bought a brisket primal for $2.99 lb. Going to cut the flat off, dry age that sucker, then braise it in caramelized onions and apple cider.
The rest is going to be smoked with cherry wood.
Why must I wait for tasty meat?
Our county just announced the first confirmed case. Gov’t and private schools were already closed and many other things were already dialed-down, so it’ll be interesting to see what the freak-out level goes to tomorrow morning. Our office (Engineering folks) and others like us went to WFH, but the production sides of the factories were (as of Friday) still planning on running.
Pretty much all the churches were broadcast-only this am. And lots of the other community things shifted this evening after the announcement – like CFA going to drive-through only. We went out for bulgogi last night.
Biden seems pretty lucid. I think they pumped him full of l-Dopa before he got on cam
That was exactly as I mentioned to my woman. My suspicion was adderall, but it was something.
He was a bit more contained. It was close to “shut it fat” but he never did.
He was chemically controlled.
That’ll keep you going for the show.
Come on – it’s time to go.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Weird atmosphere in there today.
Did you by chance happen to, perhaps, ask him to move?
Yeah, I’m more the ‘excuse me’ type while I reach for w/e
Yeah #metoo, but I physically couldn’t reach while the dude had it all blocked off.
Yes. Funnily enough that was stiffly ignored.
At that point you are free to bludgeon both of them and raid the shelves.
Yeah. I think at that point you have the right to use lethal force.
I was so sure that would be a movie starring Seagal/Dudikoff/JCVD or someone like that. Instead I found this movie from 2001, the artwork for which appears to show Marilyn Manson being kicked in the face.
Also they were out of black beans #tearsofanguishanddespair
Is there even bread to toast to put the beans on?
Bread was getting pretty low, and pasta was totally out. Rice was almost all gone. Of hand soaps and sanitizer only the premium brands were left, and TP was down to two and four packs.
“tinned beans and pulses with body and cart”
No idea how to parse that.
*canned beans and lentils and such
Both infuriated me, but judging my woman, a person who knows and cares nothing about politics but somehow is the perfect bellwether of democratic thought (shes still brilliant, and I love her, but at least shes tolerant of the monster she lives with) I think Bernie slightly won. Her response to Biden was “Isnt that what Trump is doing?” With regards to his corona plan.
Goddammit. I haven’t been keeping up with the news lately and unfortunately I haven’t been able to keep up here either.
My wife is watching TV…Kawanda…Black Panther or whatever. Dumbest fuckin’ movie ever made. Complete horseshit. Pissed me off in less than a minute. I come here and read a couple of links and Iam even more pissed off.
The stupid is a lot more contagious than the cooties.
People are such freakin’ idiots. My only problem with this coronavirus is that it is not more deadly. I pray for SMOD. I am gonna get drunk and go to sleep.
Yeah, I am Mr. Sunshine.
Please be my next neighbor.
I thought Black Panther was pretty good precisely because it’s so ridiculous.
The message I got from it was Africa had to get a meteorite full of magic metal to claw its way to a modern city state.
Racist.
WE WUZ KANGZ!
I had just come out of the bathroom to the living room and half-caught some line about how whitey flooded the black communities (in the US?) with drugs. I muttered ‘fuck you’ and my wife told me to shut up and let her watch her movie. She is much more able to suspend her disbelief than I am.
She is also a happier person than I am.
You sound like me.
There were links?
News to me.
I meant the news snippets in the comments.
I have lived through at least two dozen ends of the world so I am sick of hearing about the coronacooties. The Dems candidates are the worst pols I have seen in my lifetime…I wouldn’t put any of them in charge of picking up dogshit in my yard.
Everyone is going nuts and even though my local backwoods, overpriced grocery is fully stocked I went to Sam’s Club yesterday and they were wiped out so I couldn’t buy half of the things I went for.
Louisiana stupidly closed all of it’s schools so the kids re out running around everywhere spreading whatever like crazy.
I will say it again…I dont like going out and every time I have to go out it reminds me why I dont like going out. I hate everyone.
*Pours more vodka*
I was hoping we’d stay above the fray. Nope. The stupidity has struck in spades. I’ve got a week to find some shit paper.
Suthen, you’re my kind of guy. Cheers!
Suthen, I gotta agree. There are an awful lot of people in the world who turn into waltzing pissants whenever the latest ‘crisis’, real or manufactured, comes along. Personally, I just wish the MSM would kindly STFU for at least ten minutes at a time about the virus. Perspective time: Proven cases of COVID-19 infection, slightly over 3,000. Deaths attributed to same, 62. Call it about 2/10 of 1%.
anyone care to guess how many flu deaths there were since this mahooha started?
Exactly. The whole thing is political and the fault of Donnie Twoscoops.
Ima guess 20k. What do I win?
Yes. In the US, so far, it’s about .2%.
So apparently, we sheeple aren’t scared enough yet.
But don’t worry, our elected betters are going to save us.
No no, that’s “whataboutism” if you bring up any other phenomenon to put things in perspective. I’ve literally read articles that called it that.
Why is Van Jones on CNN?
Why is Van Jones even a person still ?
Hateful.
“Jones was born after the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Bobby Kennedy, but as he learned about the men’s work, he became devoted to them as heroic figures. He pinned photographs of the Kennedy brothers to a bulletin board in his room in the specially delineated “Kennedy Section”. As a child he matched his Star Wars action figures with Kennedy-era political figures; Luke Skywalker was John, Han Solo was Bobby, and Lando Calrissian was Martin Luther King, Jr”
Seems sound from the start.
Who was R2-D2 and Princess Leia? And C-3PO? And the Jawas? WHO WERE THE JAWAS!?

That shiteater is the one that tried to get Obumbles to seize all white people’s 401K’s isn’t he? Why is that piece of cheese still breathing?
He addressed CPAC last year and said some positive things about conservative-led criminal justice reform so of course the some on the left accused him of “tap dancing” for “white supremacists”. It’s as if they don’t understand that trying to belittle a black man’s speech as some kind of kitsch, folksy entertainment is acutely racist and demeaning. He actually seemed to get a reasonable response from the CPAC crowd but I don’t think he’s got too many friends anywhere now.
Insulting cheese is uncalled for.
Cheese has a point and purpose. That commie, not so much.
Let’s see: Rotting tit-juice, or Van Jones….
Seems about equal to me.

Bingo. You can bet your last dollar on it.
Two Mormon women (Sisters???) just stopped by asking if anyone in the neighborhood needed help with chores or snow shoveling.
Nice try, ladies. You gotta offer a lot more than help to get me to start living a clean life.

Yikes, sorry. Hoping for good news.
It is the worst news. But thanks for the well wishes. ?
I’m so sorry.
This is sad.
***HUGS*** (the safe kind) I’m so sorry – been there, done that.
Oh no. I am so sorry, Rhy.
Sorry Rhy. I’ve lost more than one. It’s pretty awful.
Sorry Rhy. I’m a cat person (though I’m allergic). Grew up with three of the little furballs – two of which we had since I was a baby. It really was
likelosing a family member when they had to be put to rest.Reid they say what they think it is?
They showed me some xrays but no sure answer. Yet?
I’m sorry.
Thanks everyone. Heading home to get drunk now.
Sorry, Rhywun.
Sorry to hear the news, Rhy.
My heart aches for you and your kitty.
I have to give credit to my daughter for that one.
Hey Rufus ?
Very appropo.
Tell you what, Quebec gives Canada a whole lot of color and character.
Although that accent seems less Quebecois and seem more Maritimes/New Brunswick. I think. I could be wrong.
Looked her up. Acadian. At first I was thinking Gaspe region and shoulda let my brain run its course up to Acadia. How silly of me. Whatever. My comment about Quebec still stands.
She’s from the MP tho
And that pisses off all the québécois cause she sings
In better news I dug up ten paw paw seedlings this winter and transplanted 6 of them to my yard. I gave 4 to my neighbor. Today I checked on them and all six of mine have sprouted very healthy looking leaves.
Am I the only person who has bigger worries than coming down with a fatal illness?
For real, the threat (real or not) of catching a fatal disease that works relatively fast is really not high on my to-worry-about list.
I only know three people who are in the high risk group – my parents, both over 80 and my mother’s neighbor.
You and your family are going to be fine. Everyone else I know is going to be fine.
The media is deliberately hyping this into a panic for political reasons. The bastards.
Oh I know we’re fine. I wish catching it were the worst thing I had to worry about.
This is no time to consider economic costs.

I’m worried about my mom aS well. Upper 80s and today she said she wants to go back to Ottertail. I’d rather she stayed closer to my sister. I’ll try convincing her tomorrow.
That’s rough.
My girlfriend’s dad is going through chemo for lung cancer, and he’s at the point where a slight fever is a matter for the emergency room. I worry about the dude.
And my own father is almost 80. Fortunately, he’s in good health and retired. I offered to go get him whatever he wanted from the store and bring it to him so he doesn’t have to be around the crowds at the store.
I called Tres Sr. today (whom I havent seen in a month, is 80 and burns 2 packs/day) “you in the mood to see a corona carrier?”
He said, “fuck yeah- gotta go whenever”
I’m not worried about it, but I tend to not freak out about things. Mrs. McGinty is the opposite. Makes for some interesting conversations when the news comes on. Her – “two people have contacted it!” Me – “that’s all?”
Why Worry?
Saturday only last so long anyway.
Your story? Thumbs up! The link? Someone get me a bitter, disillusioned link here stat.
pulled it out of my ass; ’tweren’t hard: that’s just how I think
I don’t think it’s bitter: we come and we go; life would be worthless if it didn’t end
I wax Poetic when I’m under stress, too. And yes, I know, that is a weird name for a hamster.
“progeny”
not prodigy
*burp*
I expect to get it before too long – but expect it won’t be too bad.
The economic fallout has me extremely worried, however.
This is going to be bad and we don’t have the supplies.
*sigh*
Closing tag fail.
Simmer down, Calamity Jane- it’s ok
?
Open post? They put me in the queue for Tuesday when there was an open slot? Half my musings will be moot by the time it’s up.
oh well: I still trust TPTB
I have a hard time keeping up these days but I will make a point of reading yours Tuesday.
Suthenboy, I have read yo writings and agree with you 99.9% of times..but this time is different to me. This is not the same, this is not natural. You have some background in micro..do you feel like I do or this me.
That’s kind, but it’s a bit short and highly Socratic.
I’m looking forward to whatever thoughts others will have.
Despite Spud’s post, winter is not over in Idaho

Biden thinking “he wishes his prostate is that small.”
Despite Bernie’s ranting, Joe smiles, because he knows it’s Tapioca Night back at the home.
Poor Joe. Who’s pulling the strings??
The DNC is setting this all up.
They’ve paid Bernie off to take a fall for the good of the party to get DJT out of office. Gropin’ Joe is the most electable of the party’s (the party, as opposed to all democrat voters across the board) desired candidates so he’s going to be a trojan horse to get Herself in as VP. After Joe take the oath, as previously agreed, Joe will bow out and the coronation can take place.
Eric Taylor died last week. I thought of him for no particular reason just in time to not be in time.
He was a towering song-writer; for reasons you’ll guess, this is my favorite; I can’t find Taylor online, so it’s Lovett’s cover:
Ain’t you the one: the one with guitar and all them sad songs
I’m so happy that my dad died of prostate cancer ten years ago so that he didn’t live long enough to die from CoronaV.

Man, my son is already obsessed with getting into woodworking. He sees that and it will get serious.
Wood.

Little did they know that, in her later years, she became one of those ‘chainsaw sculptors’…
Why am I just now finding out about this?

Who can listen to Yankee chicks? How do you do it?
Not everyone has a diphthong fetish, my dude.
I don’t see how she gets that board to just lay there flat.
I like how she handles a tool.
I prefer April Wilkerson or other, not as ‘model’ pretty but pretty enough and she actually seems like she knows what shes doing and would be building things even if she wasn’t on camera just because shes a pretty.
brb working my wood.
Did i see this here? Norm MacDonald on coronavirus. https://www.battleswarmblog.com/?p=43828
Norm! BTW, Tulip, saw this guy for the first time today. Pretty good.

IRBE, thats a good looking dog in your av
She was the best retriever. It was a personal affront to have another dog retrieve hers. Never let a frisbee hit the ground ever. Bad throw, wind.. it did not happen. That was her name…not a bad goalie there! Best dog names are goalies.
This is nothing but fun.
I need this streaming all day; my systolic dropped 10mm when I saw that coon crossing
#metoo Very calming.
That heron made me think “That’s not a relative of a dinosaur; that IS a dinosaur.”

OMG, those feet! Clearly a dinosaur.
Neat find. Thanks.

Also, 4, 5, 9, and 11 please.
Homophobic or not?
Gay men and junkies are looking at us now and thinking: “You fuckers were so pissed at us, but all our disease asked you to avoid were dirty needles and assex.”
Well, you can probably pick up a case of Corona with both those things, so…we’re covering all the bases, as opposed to those single-issue types.
Pikers, really.
Ok. This Pornhub step-fetish thing is getting way out of hand.
Bang-ul and Ttallang. Nice.
TERFs!
“You can’t milk a cat, Greg”
Imagine if Carlin had seen that.
Alt text on a comment. Wow.
Shto? What am I missing?
Maybe I just never noticed before.
Oh, yeah–I try to spiff up my shitty linkage, usually. Never know what your prize’ll be with my Cracker Jacks.
Of Musk is successful with Starlink satellites beaming internet directly down to mobile devices on earth, how will countries like China and media empires like CNN exert control over content access?
They do NOT want free speech. Will they use hate speech laws to punish wrongthink?
*lights Winston signal*
I don’t want Kessler syndrome either, if we’re being completely honest.
I assume a country could jam the signal. Also, people will have to pay for service. Cut off the payment and you’ve cut off the service.
Bar ban comes to WA.
“statewide emergency proclamation tomorrow to temp. shut down restaurants, bars, entertainment, recreational facilities; restaurants will be allowed to provide take-out, delivery; ban will not apply to grocery stores, pharmacies.”
““Additionally, all gatherings with over 50 participants are prohibited and all gatherings under 50 participants are prohibited unless previously announced criteria for public health and social distancing are met.”
NYC too. And restaurants. Whee.
Apparently, anyone who takes individualism seriously doesn’t believe in assisting others. Who knew?
SHUT THE FUCK UP, LIBTARD! SUPPORT OUR PREZIDENT!
YES! I’ve finally made it!
Thank you, HM, for my tard-tism.
So who won the debate?
The Deep State.

I hope you are and kitteh are resting/comfortable/experiencing even a modicum of peace.
Thanks. I hope she had a good 13 years or so with me 🙂
Now, wondering when the other one figures it out.
So, did she pass, or, is she still getting med attention?
She did pass. They said her heart stopped several times 🙁
No idea what it was, maybe I’ll find out more later? I dunno.
RIP Maggie
Sorry, Rhywun.
Sorry Rhywun.
Condolences Rhywun.
So sorry, Maggie, and Rhy.
?Good kitty
Thanks. Now my Betty gets babied from now on.
Sorry dude. ?
Ah Feck. That’s harsh, Friend. Wifey still cries over her little one that we had for nearly twenty years.
Yeah, some details if you are up to it.
aw, so sorry!
Well, according to Bernie you can look it up on “The Youtube”.
That got a chuckle. Keep on olding, Bern.
Summary (really):
Bernie: “You said …..”
Joe: ” I DID NOT!”
Seriously, that exchange happened at least three times.
Be careful, straff; you’ll rot your brain with that mishegoss.

It actually happened in Ohio.

Pfft… we’re on the ground fighting this thing man! Something… something… lived experience… something something… equality.
Fantastic. I commend the person that left that tip.
Outbreak.

I had that one summer.
My condition is permanent.
It is chronic, isn’t it.
Poor Japan.
Never really thought about it much until I started visiting here. Asian chicks never did it for me because I grew up with so many Natives. Just one more thing to blame on the Glibs.
Why did it take an outbreak to implement restrictions on free speech?

This is the kind of hard-hitting journalism I expect from the NYT.

Whelp, Wifey is feeling better and I had very mild snot-nose today while working an extremely dusty and long shift. Clipped my toenails this morning just to be sure that I’ll be a pretty corpse when the Wu-Hu gets me. Funny how I always neglect foot care in the winter even though I have to walk 15 miles a night. Wool socks, out of sight, out of mind. Tomorrow we deal with toe-jams. Nor-wex for the win!
The fact you think your basic foot maintenance is something that needs to be stretched into a multi day event is kinda frightening, my dude.
Ha!
I’m not gonna jump in the shower right before bed-time. If I did that I’d never sleep. Grody toes until tomorrow and let the pieces fall where they may. It gets fucking cold up here. Socks, slippers, boots. I might not examine my feet closely for awhile come the Winter except to check for frost-bite.
