Enough beach, Bella!

Never mind the Beach, we always go there, let’s go see the town.

the Old Water works

Old Life boat

I see a pump

Ships bells

Water, back then

Having been around the surrounding area, I noticed I hadn’t looked in my own backyard, so with some time to waste before the NC Brewery opened, I went for a walk. The water works is a neat old building, with some nice old objects to see, too bad the CCP virus has them closed.

Here are some older homes, lovingly cared for, and the old Firehouse, oh yeah!

Nice place

The old Firehouse

Also called Salt City, this might be a reason.

We make Salt?

Yes we do….

After that we parked across from North Channel Brewing and headed over the drawbridge, enjoying the color, and the Big Manistee river, East and West.

Downtown is cute and pretty, like old tourist towns usually are, the architecture is very period and cool, the Ramsdell building.

The Vogue

Downtown, the Vogue, of course, banks and shops.

then on to the riverwalk. Ever wondered how a drawbridge worked?

Now you do

Some additional Riverside color then off to the brewery, a nice walk, no crowds, peaceful really, drop by next Spring, summer is real touristy.

North Channel Brewing

Yummy beer and food

Obligatory Me

North Channel Flight

Everything I have posted will look quite different in a few months, so I will update, and maybe a real camera to take pictures with. Enjoy!

Nice pics, including your selfie. ?

  2. mikey

Thx Yusef. Love your travelogues. Never knew there was anything to see in that
    Part of the country.

  3. Count Potato

I’m noticing patterns in the architecture. Were they built by immigrants from the same place?

    • Yusef drives a Kia

Poles and Swedes, so yes, fun, cute and quaint IMO

      • Sean

Maybe a lil phallic though. That firehouse…

    • Mojeaux

It’s all Victorian architecture, with some mild Queen Anne and gothic revival touches thrown in. No different from any other town of that age.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

You did read the article where I said as much?

      • Mojeaux

        *sigh*

  4. Gustave Lytton

    Enjoying the travelogue. Thanks Yusef!

My gr/gr gr grandparents were up around there and Traverse City apparently. Then they moved to Detroit. Interesting to see it now.

  5. Kwihn T. Senshel

    Gorgeous, thanks!

Love the first pic of the river.

    • Yusef drives a Kia

      Thanks Tulpa! I still
I still have much to explore

      • Kwihn T. Senshel

I still have much to explore

I’ve found it interesting – living within about 50 miles of where I grew up – how many locals never know what’s within an hour’s drive of their house. Seems like it’s often the transplants that actually care to figure out all the cool places around the area. I try to do the same…always be explorin’!

  6. KOVIDKristen

    I love all that architecture

    • Yusef drives a Kia

      Neato, huh!

      • KOVIDKristen

        Ayup…especially that gingerbready house.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

This is part one, next is more houses,, including my home, Dreamboat Annie,
        Little ship of dreams….

      • KOVIDKristen

        Awwww, nice!

      • Yusef drives a Kia

I don’t want to spoil my next article, but, Water!

  7. TARDis

    Really nice photos. Lovely even.

  8. rhywun

I luv that puke green house ♥️

Reminds me of every little town across the Rust Belt. Some charming like that town appears to be, some barely clinging to life.

  9. Galt1138

Really neat little town. I’m a beer geek, so it’s nice to see a brewery open (most of them here in CA can’t allow people inside due to our idiot Gov. Nuisance).

    Thanks for sharing!

    • Yusef drives a Kia

I mask up when I have to go in the office, your shop, your rules, but I work outside 99.9% of the time so we Dow what we what we want,

  10. DEG

    Great pictures Yusef!

I like the old buildings best.

    • Yusef drives a Kia

Make me call the vote count illegitimate,,next step? Firepower, you stupid fucks…

    • Count Potato

“n the testimonial, originally posted to Facebook Live, the woman says that people who were there counting ballots throughout the evening were ready to shut down when suddenly a white van, a Chrysler 300 and a Ferarri, pulled up with over 130,000 additional ballots.”

      A Ferrari?

    • The Hyperbole

yeah, what are things that never happened for 600 alex?

      • MikeS

        Hey Buddy, stop doing that

    • dbleagle

As of this moment I have maybe 2% confidence that the USSC will do anything at all about the obvious fraud. The three lefties will vote to deny cert no matter what happened or any testimony or video evidence, which is steadily growing. Roberts, because he is compromised somehow, his spine is made of jello, or a combination of both, will also try to deny cert in order “In order to restore confidence in the voting process and to put a hard fought campaign culminating in a close but clean vote behind us.”(And the Dems are “owed” one after Bush v. Gore.) That leaves Uncle Clarence, Alito and the Trump Three to close ranks. I have my doubts that ACB wants to define her lifetime reputation in her first 60 days on the SC. My depressing prediction, 5-4 El Presidente Harris and her sock puppet biden are confirmed by the USSC.

The “truth commissions” and gun confiscation orders follow by mid spring.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Gun orders? Good luck with that, this place makes AZ look like Cali, they will not comply,
        I love this place….

      • Gustave Lytton

As always, non compliance is even better. No longer lawful gun owners, they will be insta-felons of their own making. When they get picked up for a traffic violation, or a domestic violence call, or even a noise complaint, buh-bye! And no one will support them, because they’re felons. See also: every machine gun arrest since 1986.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Going out in a blaze of glory!
        /Old man, doesn’t care,..

Sigh. I have better taste than that.

      • rhywun

Big fan of theirs from the early MTV days.

      • Tundra

        Love them.

        Perfect, Rhywun.

      • The Hyperbole

any testimony or video evidence, which is steadily growing.

what is the best example of this that you have?

      • Jarflax cancelled Cancelled

Only takes 4 to grant certiorari

    • creech

Where’s the video? A cop farts while arresting someone and there are twenty videos. Everyone carries a camera. Video documentation of these alleged frauds would be more convincing.

      • Viking1865

The standard Philly/Atlanta/Milwaukee/Detroit fraud isn’t where the issue is. The issue, if there is an issue at all, is in the mail in ballots of WI and MI, and any post Election Day ones in PA. Trump won last time despite the same fraud the big blue cities run every time.

But it is fishy as hell that somehow 500,000 more people in MI wanted to vote for Biden and not Clinton. That just doesn’t pass the smell test to me. Same with the 250,000 k in WI. I would have absolutely believed a standard turnout election where just enough Midwest swing voters swung away from Trump. I don’t believe Joe Biden got more votes in Detroit than Barack Obama did. That doesn’t pass the smell test. It just doesn’t. I would have totally believed the Midwest white voters swinging back to Scranton Joe, but I don’t believe all these people in the hood are more excited for Joe Biden then they were for Obama.

But hey, maybe they audit the mail in ballots and the fraud is just a normal amount of fraud and it’s not enough to swing the election. It’s a big country, and there very well might be 500,000 legitimate voters in Michigan who were not voting blue in 2016 but are voting blue now. But an audit can only hurt cheaters.

  11. hoof_in_mouth

Very nice, stayed at the Ramsdell last time we were there and went to North Channel. Have extended family and some land in the area, it’s very pretty.

  12. Ed Wuncler

    Love the pics Yusef!

Northern Michigan is a fucking slice of heaven. My in laws have a place 40 minutes north of Traverse City and my wife and I always go up there every Summer or Fall. The people are really nice and the scenery is amazing. If you get a chance, go to Friske’s Farm in Ellsworth. They serve great food and are taking a stand against the Governor’s bullshit.

    https://upnorthlive.com/news/local/northern-michigan-business-suing-governor-over-mask-mandate

    • Yusef drives a Kia

Hah! I’m sending a semi of tanks to Ellsworth tomorrow,

      • Ed Wuncler

I’ve always told my wife that before things get way too unbearable in Illinois, I want to sell the house and move up there.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Come on by, cheap housing, not too backwoods, a nice place,

  13. DEG

The Clown Prince wants to get in on the “ruining holidays action”

“At our lowest point, there were, over the summer, maybe five to 10 people hospitalized on any given day with COVID-19,” Chan said. “Currently, that number is up in the 40s.”

Chan said one of the biggest concerns facing the state is holiday travel. State guidelines call for avoiding group gatherings, celebrating only with people living under the same roof.

Officials discourage all nonessential trips, especially on planes or trains, and while no quarantine is required for travel within the six New England states, Chan said that could change.

    • commodious spittoon

You put a bounty on Covid patients… suddenly hospitalizing Covid patients is very profitable.

And we’re supposed to believe their numbers.

      • Kwihn T. Senshel

hospitalizing Covid patients is very profitable

What is Iron Law #1 for $500, Alex?

      • commodious spittoon

I ran into a fellow traveler… a normie who’s not a progressive zombie… and he’s mystified why it’s surprising that Covid numbers increase when you make an increase in Covid numbers profitable. His wife’s a nurse, so he has some insight… we have electronic signs all over the city highways cautioning us about masks and social distancing… and he hates them.

Do I win Glibs points for inducting a normie? Can I cash them in toward a spot in the Glibs bunker when the progpocalypse?

      • C. Anacreon

It would be so interesting if instead Medicare would suddenly pay hospitals a bonus for any death that can be proven NOT to be caused by covid. The overall daily death numbers would likely go way down — and the usual suspects would have a hissy fit, saying that this is an immoral disincentive to hide the true Covid death numbers. But then it would be so easy to say, “you’re right, your logic is indisputable… and therefore giving a payment incentive to claim Covid deaths must be an immoral incentive to increase the numbers as well!” It would be fun trying to see people talk their way out of that one. But of course the media would cover for them, as such arguments always only work in one direction, and anyone seeing things from both sides is by default a conspiracy theorist.

    • rhywun

no quarantine is required for travel

Why not? Why this game where they pretend to be cautiously reeling out bits of freedom that can be withdrawn at the stroke of a pen? If this is as doomy as they claim, why allow any freedom whatsoever?

      • Kwihn T. Senshel

If this is as doomy as they claim, why allow any freedom whatsoever?

It’s more impactful this way. You get to see the sword, hanging above your head by the thread, and if you just do exaaaaactly what we say, we’ll make sure it doesn’t fall on you.

      • Gustave Lytton

The various governors in the region worked it out so their out of state rules don’t apply to each other. First, it would put egg on the face of their buddies and themselves, and second, there’s far too much casual state to state travel so would get flouted quickly and their paper edifice would collapse. Fuck the visitors from West Bumfuck, LA or wherever.

  14. kinnath

We got a note from the big boss today. That temporary pay cut that was going away at the end of the year, well that’s going to continue into next year. We’re all in this together.

Our sector of the economy is fucked for years to come.

I have been surprised by how few people have been laid off so far.

The back up plan is to retire and then look for contract engineering jobs.

Except Biden/Harris will probably ban the gig economy.

      • pistoffnick

We need avionics dudes up here, if you are willing to brave the winter and work for the Chinese.

      • pistoffnick

I might be biased, I want some more of your mead.

      • Chipwooder

By “avionics”, do you mean “guys who were radar techs 15 years ago and haven’t done anything in electronics since then?” Because if you are….

      • rhywun

Except Biden/Harris will probably ban the gig economy.

That is one of the more evil exercises I’ve seen the left engage in lately.

  15. Yusef drives a Kia

  16. Mojeaux

Lovely pix, Yusef. You seem much happier.

I’m getting the keys to Dreamboat Annie tomorrow, my first real home, so happy

      • KOVIDKristen

        That’s cool! Followed!

    • blackjack

I work at the airport. There’s never any helicopters around, unless something serious is happening. I also live in a really good part of town and there’s very little ghetto bird action here either. If I hear more than one and they linger, I know something is happening.

  18. Lackadaisical

    Beautiful place.

  19. kinnath

    Great photos Yusef.

My wife is all defeatist. She’s lapping up the fake numbers. There’s no way this doesn’t go to court and there’s no way a decent chunk of the crooked bullshit doesn’t get undone eventually. It’s just way too much crooked shenanigans. John Roberts is no longer the final arbiter. The Dems have been cheating and lying about every single thing, right in front of all of our noses. They literally think they’re immune from prosecution. We’ll see about that. Fucking with a presidential election is not a very smart move.

    • Mojeaux

I told my husband I’d wait to find out what happened on January 20.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

        This

I’m hoping JB comes back at the end of January when this is all over.

      • Mojeaux

        #metoo

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

I hope you’re right but I have my doubts. The establishment Republicans are being very quiet about all of this and the Supremes might punt “for the good of the nation” if it comes down to that. The long knives are out for the outsider president.

      • Viking1865

“The establishment Republicans are being very quiet about all of this”

Pence spoke up. Graham put 500 grand into the pot for lawyers. I think that they’re realizing that the new political map has the Midwest as the battleground, and if MI, PA, and WI can do this every cycle they’re never going to be able to win again, and at some point that sweet sweet rube campaign cash dries up.

      • Drake

Cruz and Graham were on TV pretty fired up tonight.

    • trshmnstr the terrible

The conservatives in MI and WI and GA and PA and AZ and NV should be out on the streets “peacefully protesting” in front of every election counting building.

      • Viking1865

Can’t. They have to be at work.

The reason the Left always wins is that 40% of every conservatives paycheck goes to funding them.

      • Mostly Peaceful JaimeRoberto

        Sad but true.

    • LemonGrenade

I lived through Bush v Gore, I’m calming my tits and waiting this one through to the end. My mother was bemoaning how it was so terrible that Trump was going to have to go through all these lawsuits, and he was just going to get dirty…. and I said, yeah, “You know that analogy about wrestling with pigs? In this case, Trump is the pig. That why voters elected him. Just wait and see things through to the end.”

      • Mojeaux

I lived through Bush v Gore, I’m calming my tits and waiting this one through to the end.

Yes, same here. But the only way I can stay calm is if I totally ignore it.

      • straffinrun

I’d be worried if the Senate went blue. It’ll be executive orders and gridlock in Congress. Could be worse.

      • LemonGrenade

Unfortunately, due to my job, I can’t totally ignore it, but I’m not going to get worked up about it. I’ve spent four fucking years with the media (including my employer) ramping up the panic to 11 and my ability to give a shit has been severely dulled. I’m in “get the hell away from major metros, and into a red state where people are more inclined to leave me the hell alone, long enough for me to live out retirement in peace” mode.

  21. Gustave Lytton

Holy crap! Target Sport is just about cleaned out of .45GAP.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

I used to have a Glock in 45 GAP. Soft shooting for a 45 but too hard to find decent ammunition.

      • Gustave Lytton

I have two. I’d like to pick up a Springfield Armory XD along with a 38 and Gen3 37. Availability and pricing has become better with bulk online sites, although not as good as when it was first introduced. I like shooting them a lot, wish the caliber had become more widespread but understand why it didn’t. Had a brief moment of glory when a bunch of agencies started using them before switching to modern 9mm’s.

  22. straffinrun

Awesome pics, awesome attitude and an awesome pup.

    Happy for you, man.

    • Yusef drives a Kia

Thanks Tundra, you always make me smile

      • C. Anacreon

        Nice work Yusef!
Seeing those photos of the river reminded me of this Talking Heads song:

Did I forget to mention, to mention Memphis
Home of Elvis and the ancient Greeks
What do I smell? I smell home cooking
It’s only the river, it’s only the river.

  24. straffinrun

Haven’t been following too closely. So what hard evidence do we have of massive voter fraud? I’m not talking about, “This stuff is statistically almost impossible!”. That is relevant, but not gonna win you any court cases.

    • trshmnstr the terrible

Veritas video, another woman describing 100k Biden votes coming in via sketchy means, allegations of poll monitors being shut out during counting (haven’t seen any primary source allegations of those ones).

      • straffinrun

I think it’s likely, but I’m not seeing enough provable fraud that would change the results. What exactly is the allegation regarding the 100K vote dump? Again, not saying it didn’t happen, just that saying something is fishy or sketchy doesn’t get us too far.

      • blackjack

My understanding is that sometimes they sort the votes by party and dump the piles. That story is probably plausibly not fraud. There many others that obviously are, though.

      • Drake

The only reason to sort by party is so they can shit-can all the Republican votes.

      • creech

Penna. doesn’t have straight party voting, so would be very hard to separate by party there.

      • rhywun

        Ditto.

I’m tapping out until the courts have their say. Because I totally trust them and stuff.

      • RAHeinlein

Corey Lewandowski was filming live from Philly today – monitors were shut-out despite a judicial order.

      • straffinrun

That’s the problem as I see it: they seem to have covered their tracks by do the switcheroo out of eyesight and so any attempt to discount those votes will be interpreted as disenfranchising Americans’ right to vote. They should be discounted if the chain was broken, but that isn’t going to happen.

      • dbleagle

I have seen two videos showing hinkey stuff by vote tabulators on YouTube. One shows a guy sliding some down out of sight and not into the pile. The other shows a guy reacting angerly to some ballots and cursing while balling them up and throwing then aside, then he takes and places other ballots in the pile. Both videos are getting blocked and re-appearing.

  29. creech

“Supremes might punt “for the good of the nation”
The BLM riots would look like a child’s birthday party compared to the riots that would occur if the Supremes throw out millions of mail in ballots and give the election to Trump. So I think they do some narrow trimming around the most egregious edges that might turn one or two states differently, but still give Biden enough EV to get 270.

    • Floridaman

Problem is no matter what there is no perception of legitimacy. If the Dems aren’t trying to cheat, they sure as hell have done a bad job, by doing things like kicking out poll watchers. So what do you get when neither side regards the electoral process as legitimate in any way shape or form. I don’t see any way the SC can hand it without either riots, or worse.

      • Floridaman

Oh and to make matters worse the populace is split about 50/59, and without clear regional lines to try to separate them.

      • Ted S.

Those extra 9% are the dead Democrat voters.

  30. Chipwooder

Gotta say, you’re the first guy I’ve ever heard of moving from the southwest to Michigan.

  31. R C Dean

Great stuff. Really takes me back to my years in the Midwest.

  32. Viking1865

Tommy Tuberville is going to be the left’s favorite punching bag. He had two tweets about the election, both hokey football metaphors.

In 2026 they’re going to have some young prog run against him and soak up 100 million in NYC and Silicon Valley money and lots and lots of adoring media coverage. Then said young prog will be conceding an hour after the polls close.

    • C. Anacreon

Yup. Any prog with a chance of beating Tuberville would have to have been a star player at Alabama, so perhaps get the Auburn v Alabama crowd splitting the votes. But no non-football Dem is going to have a prayer against a beloved football coach in that state. He destroyed Dem nominee Doug Jones, who won the seat just two years ago.

The Rs also should be very happy that Tuberville beat Jeff Sessions in the primary. Sessions is not a football hero, and might very well have lost to Jones.

  33. MikeS

OMG! Who is this Yusef character? Fuck off, Tulpa!

On the one hand good taste in whiskey, on the other he drove a Kia, I guess it evens out.

  34. MikeS

Ok, look, I think Trump is a bombastic blowhard and I’m proud to say I never voted for him. He talks all sorts of shit that honest people should refute. But wow, is this the sort of opening paragraph to an article you’d expect from an unbiased news organization:

WASHINGTON/WILMINGTON, Del., Nov 5 (Reuters) – With his re-election chances fading as more votes are counted in a handful of battleground states, U.S. President Donald Trump launched an extraordinary assault on the country’s democratic process from the White House on Thursday, falsely claiming the election was being “stolen” from him.

    • Floridaman

Reads like something Bakedpenguin would write.

      • Floridaman

        For his comic

    • Chafed

      That’s some fine reporting Lou.

    • Floridaman

Well, something is rotten there, but let’s not say anything hasty, like assuming any of us are sane.

    • Trigger Hippie

‘All together, GOP is behind 16k votes in those four districts’

      Heh, wait until Tomorrow evening.

      • Floridaman

Paging Al Franken to the white courtesy phone.

    • one true athena

Since CA-25 is one of those districts, I just looked at the current numbers. Garcia (r) leads but only 200 votes. yikes.

I hate when the site says “100% reporting” but not called. Because then it’s not 100% IS IT??

      • Chipping Pioneer

Well, they might need to count 102% or 103% so that the (D)s get the votes that they need.

      • Sean

        *finds thumbdrive*

    • Scruffy Nerfherder

      Alleged?

In other words, they’re disputing an attack that’s not occurring? On their bicycles?

      • Scruffy Nerfherder

        Disrupting, not disputing

  35. Scruffy Nerfherder

It now appears that the trickling in votes are coming for the Senate as well. I guess the Dems have decided that if they’re going to go for it, they’re going to go for the whole thing. If they get it, they’ll cement their position and never let go. They can’t afford to once they’ve crossed this line.

I’d say this country is done.

    • Yusef drives a Kia

I said would begin on 11/4, Im not wrong,
      Good Friday!
Its moving day, leaving work at noon, get some beer and my keys, I have never bought a home before,
      /57 years old

      • Chipping Pioneer

        Congratulations, Yusef!

      • Festus' Mustache

Nice to hear some good fortune came your way, Bob! Enjoy the four seasons!

      • Yusef drives a Kia

We had all 4 yesterday, now its 50, going to 70 alll weekend, one more chance to play on grass, not weed, we always have weed

      • limey

For some reason I thought you were well into your seventies, and wondered how you looked so youthful in your pictures. I guess that makes sense. Morning!

      • limey

And a large helping of congratulations on becoming a homeowner! ?

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Well I still look good for my age, wanna golf? Or come to work for a day? I feel 35 again, Im at peace, finally. Of course my country is committing suicide just in time….

      • limey

You sure do. I would certainly take you up on that offer of work but the Federal Govt might take issue with it. At least my plane tickets should be tax deductible.

      • Festus' Mustache

Judi is off to the City this week to visit Daughter #2 and didn’t tell her Sister on the Facebook about the trip for fear of upsetting her. Said Sister lives about fifty miles away but across the invisible, magic line that separates our nations. Travel between the two countries is still verboten.

    • Festus' Mustache

This cannot stand! If it does it is the end of the American experiment forever.

      • limey

Or, if there was any significant acknowledgement of it in the establishment/media complex, then there could be a way to correct for it, but there won’t be, and I fear you’re right.

Good morning, Festus. Despite that dope Trudeau, Kanuckistan looks better every day in comparison, eh.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

We still have the means to control our destiny, while the Commonwealth gave that away for Safety! Dont forget our guns….

      • Festus' Mustache

We have always been more compliant than our nieghbours to the south. They stole our freedoms incrementally so it didn’t seem to matter much. Something something King and Country something something. We’ve always had a spine for fighting FOR the government but are collectively limber-dicked when it comes to fighting against the diktats. Wouldn’t be polite, eh?

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Tough military, small but very effective, you guys are alright by me, and also, Rush! KITH!

      • limey

        Noo, I supposes not, eh.

*shrugs, drops pants, and throws a fresh poop at an unfortunate Tim Horton’s employee*

      • Festus' Mustache

I never said that we weren’t a contentious people. It’s just that we’ve been ruled from the top down for our entire history. The Union Jack and the Fleure De Lis are still very important cultural touchstones. We like to fight amongst ourselves and let the beaurocrats do the heavy lifting when it comes to governance.

    • Stinky Wizzleteats

Blatant fraud and nothing meaningful will be done. Stick a fork in it, it’s done. At least the veil of legitimacy has been pulled off of our voting system but there are going to be dark days ahead.

  36. Tres Cool

    Ive been to Manistee before.

    Breakfast TALL CANS! Hey YUFUS

    • Gender Traitor

Good morning, homey, Festus, and YUFUS if you’re still around – thanks for the travelogue. Lotsa quaint little towns like Manistee between me & you up the western edge of Ohio. Kinda wish we could find a place out in the country near one of them and bug out of this blue county.

      • Festus' Mustache

It’s all pretty much bush around here but if you travel North-east across the Rockies there are tons of old dead ghost towns and way stations where the Great Plains begin. Derelict churches, abandoned cemeteries and the like. If you ever go on a road trip with Judi you can expect that the travel time will be about twice what was planned. Fecking photographers… Mornin’ Red!

      • Tres Cool

“It’s all pretty much bush around here…”

Ah, dating in the 1980s, amirite ?

      • Yusef drives a Kia

Howdy GT and Tres and all you other nutjobs! Off to count steel, Cheers!

  37. UnCivilServant

    Morning.

I thought I’d greeted people earlier, but I apparently never posted the comment.

    • Gender Traitor

Morning, UCS. More Mountain Dew may be in order.

    • PieInTheSky

you should add some variety to your greetings.

      • PieInTheSky

        that was an order soldier

      • UnCivilServant

I’m no soldier, and you’re in no position to give me orders.

  38. Festus' Mustache

As mentioned above, Judi is away for a week so I think I’ll kick up my heels a little! Leave the toilet seats up, hang the toilet tissue the wrong way, let the dog sleep on the bed. Yep, I’m a rebel and a loner 🙂

    • Tres Cool

dont forget towels on the floor, and a sink full of dishes

      • Festus' Mustache

I can’t abide a dirty, cluttered kitchen. I’ll be using one spoon, one knife and one fork. A plate and a bowl. One mug for tea and other beverages. Probably a cast-iron skillet and one sauce pan. I’ll use my trusty blade for any chopping. One spatula and plenty of tinfoil for the oven. I worked out of an RV for about 8 years so minimalist lifestyle is ingrained.

    • Gender Traitor

      You wild and crazy guy!

We can no longer hang the TP at all since one of the cats discovered it can roll. Tried flipping it backwards, but then he just clawed it to shreds. Now gotta just set it on the tank lid.

      • rhywun

LOL I remember those days. I would arrive home from work to find shredded TP trailing out of the bathroom and down the hallway.

      • Festus' Mustache

Our boys are 16 and 14. It still happens.

    • PieInTheSky

As someone who never lived with a woman I don’t get the toilet seat thing. I mean I assume it is a running joke not a real thing.

      • Gender Traitor

Ever gone to sit while sleepy and forgotten to put the seat down? I favor a default of seat AND lid down as most equitable.

      • PieInTheSky

Ever gone to sit while sleepy and forgotten to put the seat down – no.

      • Surly Knott

Best trading for that is a dog who drinks out of the toilet and gives sloppy kisses 😉

      • Sean

As a proper shitlord, I do not worry about such matters. The seat stays in the position I used.

  39. Tres Cool

Yufus- once the weather breaks, you should get to Beaver Island. (heh…..beaver)
It has quite the history, not to mention once being a Mormon Kingdom.

    • Festus' Mustache

Mormon Kingdom? That’s where as Patriarch you get the pick of the litter of your finest Nieces and Cousins once removed?

    • Yusef drives a Kia

Sister told me about it, cool pics from their trip! Will see

  40. Festus' Mustache

    Morning to all!

    • hayeksplosives

      Morning, Festus.

Afraid I’m going right back to sleep for a few hours.

Hey, Yusef! Outstanding photojournalism. I love the building architecture pics! Great autumn colors. You’re right; it will look very different in a few months. Fresh snow is lovely; covers up the gray slush from earlier snows.

      Have fun exploring!

      • PieInTheSky

why are you afraid of going to sleep? bad dreams?

      • Sean

        Freddy Krueger.

      • Festus' Mustache

I love places where they build with brick. Almost nothing like that up here. They used what came to hand which was lots and lots and lots of timber. Some of the “old” neighborhoods have brick homes but they were reserved for the Doctors and such. Bricks had to come up the river via paddle wheeler.

  41. Sean

    Salutations Glibs.

    Hopefully your day won’t suck.

That seems like where the bar should be set, right?

    • UnCivilServant

I have a meeting where we have to discuss with rather siloed technical people an issue that exists at the intersection of an PeopleSoft, the CIFS protocol, RedHat, and Active Directory.

The incuriousity of technicians outside their silo is in of itself a depressant. Getting them to help work out what needs to be changed to fix the problem… is never fun.

      • Festus' Mustache

Isn’t RedHat some sort of club for geriatric Ladies?

      • UnCivilServant

        It’s a Linux Distribution.

      • Festus' Mustache

I disagree. The RedHat Club is a loosely affiliated organization for women of a “certain age” that enables them to get together over tea and probably gin to discuss lefty talking points that their dead husbands would never countenance.

    • Festus' Mustache

Fuck that, set her high enough to drown out the interference! Kinda like turning the ear-buds up to drown out annoying conversations while standing in the sheep lines.

      • Festus' Mustache

They are a tight band! Their big hit led me to come up with a verse for my ex – “I want a girl with a short fuse and a loooong memory!”

  42. l0b0t

Sigh… a student in my kid’s school came down with the ChiComPox. Their one day of real school per week (Friday) has been cancelled. I’m so tired of all this bullshit. This mask and panic shit is gonna be like that chucklefuck Richard Reid ensuring that everyone has to take off their shoes to board an airplane.

    • Festus' Mustache

Yep. I’ll be donning the talismask for the first time on Tuesday when I pick up meds for namesake cat because the virus jumps between animals and humans and one can never be too safe, dontcha know! Fuck. I was really hoping to come out of this as a virgin but I guess my name ain’t Mary. I’ll be using one of Judi’s that she used and kept in the car. It was nice knowing ya.
